(Ode to the Ocean)
Memories fond, adventures unique…
Glances of mysteries fleeting.
Through your beauty and mystique,
You have captivated my essence, my being…
Peaceful yet tempestuous,
Slowly swaying, violently Crashing…
Beautiful yet dangerous,
Shimmers, colors, thrashing, slashing…
Green, Purple, Turqoise blue
By God you inspire me so…
In you colors of every shade and hue,
It forces my blackness to go…
The rays of the sun trespass the surface
Waves roll around my waves of hair..
As I meditate I realize my purpose;
to always cherish this Salty Air…
I Cherish it because through it
I know that Im alive…
It isn’t bland like the air inland
Or Like my soul, or like my mind…
LiFe abundant, Energy to spare
Give me some of what you’ve got, so far…
Rage, instability, & contamination compare
You to me, my shimmering star.
Cleanse me of my sins and sorrows
Through the Devine Spirit’s power…
Help me see the coming tomorrows
As something more sweet than sour…
For our Creator made you
With a special purpose in mind…
Which I believe it was to
Help us put our worries aside…
Because when I swam with those porpoises,
With my father by my side…
I felt a tingling and sense of purpose
and a love that wont subside…
…And when I shared a moment,
Swimming With my mother at the beach…
I realized we’re not so different,
she loves the ocean, we mend the breach …
…And with my 3 young sisters
following me deeper into the capricious sea…
I see in them their trust and love
And how they look up to me…
…And with my Love, who’s afraid of you,
I share my life, my heart..
we also share our love for you
and your marvelous works of art…
Though I’ve found some insight
And peace while walking along the bay…
When Im away from you I find
I need you, I wish I could always stay…
I don’t know why I feel this strain
Maybe I just feel too much…
What I do know is that after the rain
I am soothed by your warm touch…
When I cry, you cry with me,
Our salty tears infuse…
Only One will ever see
The pain I cant I can’t seem to lose…
If not forever, a moment though,
You make me feel alright…
More than can be said ‘bout those I know,
Who sleep while I’m awake at night…
And I’m not blaming anyone,
And I’m sorry if I offend…
But after in Adonai and His son,
I only find comfort at the shores end.

Pain Of Losing You
I’m going through the pain of losing you
It’s a pain I can not bear
I always had your love, with you
That I could share.
So many memories that flash through my mind
Of all those precious moments and all the beautiful times.
Of walking down the street holding each others hand
Smiling with each other, and the future that we planned.
Sitting in the park till the moment that it got dark
Then looking up to the sky, and trying to count the stars.
When looking in your eyes, I felt like I was floating
High in the sky with all the stars above
Searching every star for your everlasting love.
I recall when we met, it seems so long ago
That I had asked you if you wanted to see a show.
You gave me a smile which I never could forget
Then you cracked a joke that I remember yet.
All these memories stay running in my mind
And I can’t stop them, and I don’t want to try.
Memories are like the ocean waves that
Beat against the shores, they are here now
And will be forever more.
The pain of losing you leaves me angry deep inside
For I know, that it wasn’t your time to die.
I know that GOD works in mysterious ways
And every night I ask him, as I get on my knees to pray.
I saw you in my dreams last night, and I heard
You gently say, that you truly love me
But with GOD you have to stay.
He had taken you for a reason which I would
Not understand, but everything you do was
to help your fellow man.
So with a sadness that I feel deep in my heart

From all the stress and all the pain
I would walk on the beach in the rain
I could hear the whispers of the Shore
Taking away all the problems and sore
As I look at the sea
I know there is nothing like this beauty
When I take a deep, deep breathe
It would take out the fear
And I could hear the whispers of the ocean in my ear
Telling me softly and gently 'Oh, dear! Oh dear'
As my heart beat goes faster and faster
I could hear the ocean's laughter
I love it when the gentle touch of the water hits my feet
You would never want to take a seat

Besieged was my love life totally unwilled.
An Ivory Palace you have helped me build.
With walls so high and locks on the gates,
Watchmen all along the paths doth irritate.
Fascinated visitors come at the gate and go,
For not even the grounds I desire to show.
My will to find joy in love now all broken,

Always did it on my own then one day I realized
I was blind,, nothing I could do on my own
Turn, we have found a way to see, look up... feel the Almighty

For Awhile, Just A Little While
For awhile, just a little while I feel pain
The temptations and trials don't seem to end, I'm literally going insane
It's overwhelming
But forever always forever I have strength
And I know I'm loved and that He's gone to every length
Just to let me know
That He loves me so
Your presence and your love, it doesn't numb the pain, it takes it away
It's overwhelming
But for awhile, just a little while I feel loss
I can't separate myself from my failures, they feel burned across
My face
My fleshly tendencies
My addictions and sin (so called) dependencies
My mark of shame and disgrace
But forever always forever I have an identity
One that is greater than even me
One that isn't based on circumstance
One that transcends happen-stance
Somehow I'm a son
I don't know how it's done
Somehow my shame is turned to glory
Somehow disgrace is replaced with grace
Somehow all the shortcomings make a story
Of repentance and redemption to replace
Somehow my dependency changes
Somehow at the end of it all I'm only dependent on You
But for awhile, just a little while
I'm searching for purpose, as sin and distractions defile
I'm searching for the point, for the meaning
Everything around me is so demeaning
It sucks away anything I thought I was made for
Tell me I'm inadequate, incapable, something to abhor
Amidst, terror, purposeless, confusion, and loss, how can I ever smile?
I can't live like this, not even for awhile
It's indescribable
But for forever, always forever
I know You love me
I know You have a plan for me even though I can't see
I know where to find my purpose, I felt empty but now I overflow
The thought never crossed my mind, because to know
You give me my meaning, You're what I'm made for

Gone With the Sky
Upon this day it is as if the sun is raining
Dry tears of anguish, as the clouds have disappeared-
Blue skies have meant to some, happiness, but today I have walked for minutes that have
Transformed to hours and it is as if everyone and everything is mocking me-
Skies are seemingly laughing and the sun cannot be there to guide me, but
Only present to heave invisible drops of water- perhaps dry tears of frustration-
People are following me from and in every which direction-
The colors of their eyes turning in hue as they watch my every move-
Anguish, fear, dread, sadness, hopelessness and perhaps a scant feeling of loneliness-
Are these feelings that plague me in essence none but a myriad of hellions who wish to persecute me?
With every step I take, I feel an upsurge of heat overpowering -
Those dry tears the sun exudes exist as if
Torrents of rain were falling onto the shadows of time-
Initially, moment by moment, then transforming to seconds and splicing to nanoseconds-
I am lost in these woodlands, once quite a familiar place, but now
I call myself none but a lost soul who foresees no destiny-
All I hear are the spattering of dry raindrops splashing onto every chamber of my
Empty heart that is beating out of despair and misery?
Deer are running freely and robins and cardinals have their homes
Amidst the trees above- I just have walked past a creek and I see my reflection within-
Though it doesn’t look like the me I thought I knew, but just the likeness of
A frightened child without a purpose in life- who am I, I ask myself-
What am I and to where am I running? If I could touch the sun, or at least reach the sky-
I would stop these phony dry tears disguised as rain from falling and
Become a saint, a goddess or an angel and sing-
I could sing tunes about nature, love, and everything that is beautiful-
Ethereal beings don’t need a purpose or destiny-
They just hover about the sky and are carefree and happy to be living eternally-
They never die or feel the pain of fear and apprehension?
I look up towards the sky right now and lose myself
Inside the world of my dreams- the skies are laughing still, but now
Laughing with me not at me- the only way I can survive today, as
Any sense of true reality has disappeared before my very eyes-
So now I find myself reborn inside a different world and have some peace of mind,
I have lost my sanity and I don’t care- everybody knows that
To the insane-whatever world they live in is what is the true reality and besides-
Nothing anyone can say shall awake us from our dreams- in these places
Where we can run freely and no one falls and gets hurt because
There is nothing to fear or to run away from, no tears falling from a sky that is
Forever blue and the sun in our world is true, and has guided us to a peaceful homestead?

A Gallant Lady
Upon every pathway I walk, I see your shadow, and
In every pond and creek, I see your reflection-
Upon these pathways I find the trace of your footsteps.
In every thought I have, your memory is still alive.
You are gone and departed from this world.
I can still feel the sting upon my cheek from the slap of your hand and
The sound of your voice wrathfully scolding me
Forever haunts me.
More haunting and most terrifying is the
Silence that rings and echoes inside of my mind from the
Days you refused to speak to me-
Being just a child, these moments were incomprehensible.
In every mirror, when I do still see your reflection,
Tears stream down my flushed cheeks and I ask myself-
Why, being flooded with the pain of past reminiscences of
Negligence and rejection does my heart, soul and very essence
Feel such longing and agony of loss?
I can almost hear your written words upon that lined yellow paper say
“I love you” and in the back of my mind, I remember
The fun and the good times that we shared as your laughter
Rang out as a sonata throughout every room in our home-
I cannot forget the grin that illuminated your majestically striking countenance,
While I can still feel the sincerity of love in your frequent warm embraces-
Recollections of your own suffering throughout so much of your life
Now comes forcefully towards me as would a whole gale and
Now I realize that you were the best mother that you could ever be.
I still can see your shadow which I yearn to follow and
I can still envision your footprints making a trail before me-
I shall follow those footprints wherever I walk, as
You were a person whose strength I so admire.
I shall forever cherish the memories of a brave person whose life had been difficult-
Memories of a gallant lady whose courage and perseverance shall forever radiate
Inside of my thoughts and shall always touch my spirit, as I shall always be
Proud, although you are no longer with us- to call you my mother…

Ocean Breath
While strolling along the beach
The sand forces its way into our tired arches
And we stop and lay down to rest our feet
And feel the warm breeze in the night darkness
And listen to the motioning water
While holding each other
The waves continue over and over constantly
With a romantic tone to every roll
Even with others on the beach sauntering
We find that we don’t even care at all
So we fall for each others clues
And feel our way around each others hearts
Find warmth and comfort as two
And forget where and when we started
The waves rolling, we keep going
And smile at how quiet the gasp is
As the ocean pauses and takes a breath for us

My Other Half
Your touch
Your kiss
Your voice
I can live with out one or maybe two of them
But I can't and I will not
Live with out your love
I can't now that I have you
Second by second
Minute by minute
Hour by hour
I live for you
I live to please you
To have you and know who you are to me
To know what you really are to me
Is the ultimate gift anyone could ever give me?
When we touch it as if I can feel
All my worries explode from my body
When we kiss it's if I'm skipping through clouds
But stumbling over rainbows
But most of all the feeling I enjoy the most
Is when we arte together we don't have to even be
Touching
Kissing
Or even talking to each other
All we have to be is in the same room by each other
For me to feel the greatest feeling god gave us
Being whole
Being content
And knowing that I have found the one
I will always love
Knowing that you are my soul mate
Awe the greatest feeling is the one
I share with you and only you my love
The missing piece of my puzzle
My soul mate
Is you
For I love you
And always will
Just remember
You can either crush my heart or cherish it
But you will always hold it in your hand
For I will always
Love you and only you
For the rest of my life
You may find new love
Or want to take a break from me
Or realize you never loved me
At all in the first place
But I
I will always love you
Not because I don't want
To love anyone else
Because I couldn't love
Anyone else in my life
It would not be physically impossible for me to
