just like you
and most
if not all

I am not perfect

this is me
an ordinary man
just like you
if not all
of the men.
I am a lover

About being ordinary
There is nothing
Exceptional,
Nothing special
With me,
I am just ordinary
In decency, in status,
I am what you call
the average man,
Of no special rank
Of lesser significance
I am found
In the most common
Places, undistinguished
in the most common men
in the market, in the mall,
in the park, in the beach,
in the streets, in the church,
in anywhere in everywhere
I am what you see
As plain, the usual
The most customary
that you meet &
easily forget
I am the
Normal person that you
Shake hands with,
whose name
does not linger
long enough in your mind
I live in the many
I am the numerous
I breathe the common Air
I drink the water
For everyone
I smell like the
Sweat of the rest
I look like everyone
Because I am the average
Because I am the ordinary
But without me
You will never be
Special
In truth it is us
The common ones
In this whole world
The background
These ordinary
Occurrences and
Resemblances
That make you
Exist,
We, the average,
We, the people of this world
We are the ordinary
And you cannot
Disregard us,
We are the many,
And we can always
Disregard you
If we really want to
we make you
and we can always unmake you
mister special..

She Ain't Your Ordinary Girl
(Robert Jason)
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She don't love carelessly that's what I've always heard
'Can't use the usual lines she measures every word
No empty promises proof is what it takes to win her heart
The truth and nothing less, simple things that set her far apart
Save your diamonds and your furs she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
No midnight alibis, no foolish games for her
And if you cross the line you'll get what you deserve
But when you see her smile nothing seems to matter anymore
And in a little while you'll feel like you've never felt before
Like no other in the world, she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
Save your diamonds and your furs, she ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary

Ordinary Girl
I see her there in her plain print dress and her fading youth
Something about her opens up my soul
Something about her speaks the truth
When the sky is falling
She makes the world go away baby and I tell the truth
Theres a plainness and a sameness to her touch
Oh yeah and its beautiful
I love an ordinary girl
Oh shes just an ordinary girl
I say I love you I know its just an ordinary sound
We make love in our ordinary house
Yeah its built on common ground and we know it baby
We go out walking on an friday night in ordinary town
Theres a sameness and a plainness to it all
Oh yeah and its beautiful
I love an ordinary girl
Yeah shes just an ordinary girl
Another day, another battle
We shake the cage, our sabers rattle
Nothing that matters comes easy
Nothing that comes easy ever really matters
Oh (everything I am) shes an ordinary girl (anything I plan)
I love her (for everything that I stand)
Shes an ordinary girl (Im just an ordinary man)
Yeah shes (in everything I do) just an ordinary girl
(in everything thats true) I love her (in everything I plan)
Just an ordinary girl (Im an ordinary man)...

Lover Lover Lover
I asked my father,
I said, father change my name.
The one Im using now its covered up
With fear and filth and cowardice and shame.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
He said, I locked you in this body,
I meant it as a kind of trial.
You can use it for a weapon,
Or to make some woman smile.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
Then let me start again, I cried,
Please let me start again,
I want a face thats fair this time,
I want a spirit that is calm.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
I never never turned aside, he said,
I never walked away.
It was you who built the temple,
It was you who covered up my face.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
And may the spirit of this song,
May it rise up pure and free.
May it be a shield for you,
A shield against the enemy.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.

Me & You
(skip ewing/ray herndon)
Ordinary no, really dont think so
Not a love this true
Common destiny
We were meant to be
Me and you
Like a perfect scene from a movie screen
Where every dream comes true
Suited perfectly for eternity
Me and you
Every day, I need you even more
At the nighttime too
Theres no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to
Every day I live
I try my best to give
All I have to you
I thank the stars above
That we share this love me and you
Every day, I need you even more
At the nighttime too
Theres no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to
Ordinary no, I really dont think so
Just a precious few
Ever make it last
Get as lucky as
Me and you
Me and you

A little extra, from an extra ordinary woman
She goes out of her way and travels that extra mile
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She consoles you, smiles with you, cries with you and for you
A little extra than anyone else
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She spends on you a little extra than she does on her own self
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She uses her extra strength and wisdom to pick you up when you fall
She blinds her sight to your imperfections
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She loves you a little extra just to stand out different
From all those who love you
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She starves herself so that you may eat a little extra
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She forgives you all the time
Even when you guilty mind knows you don’t deserve such kindness
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She may not be the most perfect woman but
She is indeed an extra ordinary woman
She is your mother, your wife, your fiancee, your girlfriend
Your sister, your grandmother and your daughter
You best appreciate her

The basic difference between an ordinary person and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge while an ordinary person takes everything as a blessing or a curse.

And What About Us Who Write Poems Every Minute Of The Day?
what words can we take pride in
these poems like our daily breaths
ordinary words we utter in ordinary
conversations we have
come breakfast come snack time
come lunch come dinner
the talks we have on the park
in the marketplaces of our ordinary days
unplanned, unscreened, unedited
ordinary words to ordinary occasions
an embarrassment, can these words be?
unscheming and devoid of meaning
the lines of the common places?
the dialogues of the fool and the unwise?
you do not have to mind
this is my journal, a record of nothing
but ramblings of my mind and there you are
carefully reading putting meaning where there was
really none
this poem of day to day, unwavering
trying to be but nothing, a mode of nothing but just
plain thinking
do you too have this kind of breathing?
tell me why you breathe, then?

A hero is an ordinary person who performs an ordinary task In an extraordinary situation.
For the sake of argument and illustration I will presume that certain articles of ordinary diet, however beneficial in youth, are prejudicial in advanced life, like beans to a horse, whose common ordinary food is hay and corn.

Isn't It Romantic
(feat. Dave Koz)
I've never met you, yet never doubt you
I can't forget you
I've thought you out, dear
I know your profile and I know the way you kiss
Just the thing I miss
On a night like this
If dreams are made of imagination
I'm not afraid of my own creation
With all my heart my heart is here for you to take
Why should I quake
I'm not awake
Isn't it romantic?
Music in the night, a dream that can be heard.
Isn't it romantic?
Moving shadows write the oldest magic word.
I hear the breezes playing in the trees above
While all the world is saying you were meant for love.
Isn't it romantic
Merely to be young on such a night as this?
Isn't it romantic?
Every note that's sung is like a lover's kiss.
Sweet symbols in the moonlight,
Do you mean that I will fall in love per chance?
Isn't it romance?
[Instrumental]
I hear the breezes playing in the trees above
While all the world is saying you were meant for love.
Isn't it romantic
Merely to be young on such a night as this?
Isn't it romantic?
Every note that's sung is like a lover's kiss.
Sweet symbols in the moonlight,
Do you mean that I will fall in love per chance?

Isn't it romance?

God, Mary and Jesus
Can a good person give his lover grief
If he himself possesses all the powers?
Can a good person make his lover mortal
If he himself is immortal?
Can a good person deprive his son of a lover
For many years
If he himself has a lover?
Can a good person deprive his son
Of enough power, wealth and prestige
For many years
If he himself has all that?
Can a good person hurt his son
If no one is able to hurt him?
And so forth.
There are many people still now
Who do not give grief to their lovers!
There are many people still now
Who sacrifice their lives for their lovers!
There are many people still now
Who arrange marriage of their infants!
There are many people still now
Who give many of their belongings to their children!
There are many people still now
Who sacrifice their lives for their children!
Is God a bad person then?
There are many people still now
Who have more than one lover!
There are many people still now
Who have more than one child!
Does God lack sufficient amount of love?
Is there no other girl who loves God?
Does God dislike children?
If one son is enough for God,
What about a daughter?
Holy Spirit is no one else but Angel Gabriel
In the Holy Koran He is sometimes called Ruh
Which means Soul or Spirit
Because he is so near and dear to God's body
So please, don't say, Three;
There's only one God.

Mr Ordinary
One who had lived amongst them for seven months or so
He was nicknamed Mr Ordinary by those who him did not know
To most he did seem ordinary the most ordinary one of all
Since he was not a fan of tennis, boxing, golf, cricket or football
They were not his type of company their friendship he did not try to win
In their type of community he could not hope to fit in
The young emerging artist amongst them did not stay
And they do seldom even think of him or mention him today
As an artist becoming famous and financially doing well
At the big city art galleries his paintings readily sell
Photos and articles in the newspapers of late of him they see
They say he must be lucky how lucky can one be
He does not even know the name of one famous sports person he is so ordinary
Though art lovers of the city with them would not agree.

Ordinary Girl
How will I know if someone loves me
How will I know if there is no one else
Dying to have someone who loves me
But I want them to love me for myself
Looked for love in all the wrong places
I searched the moon and stars
Found myself lost in a world full of faces
The place I didn't look was my heart
I've been all around the world try to find something new,
Lord knows that something was you
'Cause I found in myself the one thing that is true
All I want is an ordinary girl
All I need is an ordinary girl
Ordinary
All I want is someone I can talk to
Someone I can lean on now and then
And I don't wanna lie, pretend I am someone else
I am just looking for a friend
My heart was going through so many changes,
I didn't know which way to turn
Just when I thought I had all of the answers
I found I still had so much to learn
I've been all around the world try to find something new,
Lord knows that something was you
'Cause I found in myself the one thing that is true
All I want is an ordinary girl
All I need is an ordinary girl
Ordinary
Someone to love me
Ordinary
I just wanna feel lost in love forever
wanna see that look in your eyes
I hope that you understand what I am saying, baby
Cause girl I need you right by my side
I've been all around the world trying to find something new,
Lord knows that something was you
'Cause I found in myself
the one thing that is true
All I want is an ordinary girl
All I need is an ordinary girl
Ordinary
Someone to love me
Ordinary
[Talking:]
You know I've been all around the world
trying to find someone new

Ordinary Miracles
Spring, rainbows,
ordinary miracles
about which
nothing new can be said.
The stars on a clear night
of a New England winter;
the soft air of the islands
along the old
Spanish Main;
pirate gold shining
in the palm;
the odor of roses
to the lover's nose. . .
There is no more poetry
to be written
of these things.
The rainbow's sudden revelation--
behold!
The cliché is true!
What can one say
but that?
So too
with you, little heart,
little miracle,
but you are
no less miracle
for being ordinary.

Ordinary
Love is
When I
Find a
Person
So ordinary
That I don't
Know…
What you
See in him
But you
Find him
So
Extra-ordinary
That you
Cannot
Live without
Him.

Perfect Lover
It's in your head
They're telling you it's in your head
It's a figment of your imagination
It's in your head
They're telling you it's in your head
You're a victim of your infatuation
And everyone tells me she just isn't there
That it just couldn't be
Only I know how real she is to me
There's a perfect lover
Running through my head
There's a perfect lover
I can see her in my head
Perfect lover
They keep telling you
They keep telling you
It's just a fascination
Why don't they listen
No one listens to what I am saying
And everyone tells you she just isn't there
That it just couldn't be
Only I know how real she is to me
There's a perfect lover
Running through my head
There's a perfect lover
Running through my head
Sometimes I hear the cry
(I hear it crying out)
Your voice from deep inside
(Inside, inside, inside)
It's taking over me
Over me
I'm not looking through the eyes
Of a desperate stranger
What I envision is so real
I don't want to change it
And sometimes I feel
Like she's standing right there
Like I can reach out and touch her
Only I know how real she is to me
There's a perfect lover
Running through my head
Perfect lover
Running through my head
There's a perfect lover
Running through my head
Perfect lover
Running through my head
Perfect lover
Perfect lover
