Resurrection

Consumed with memories that preceded today
Given a chance to bereave life thats slipping away
Suffered through tragedy of my slow decay
Deceptive tendencies dragged my soul away
All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of mortality
Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...
Forsaken by destiny, forsaken by my own mind
I must remove my skin to see belief in your eyes
All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of humanity
Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...
Reach for the sky
Touch the sky
Revive a hope
For mankind

No Incentive To Vote Sept 26th,2012

NO INCENTIVE TO VOTE Sept 26th,2012
By
James Bredin

And those in power can stay there for the rest of their lives,
Though it may be questionable that democracy survives,
So compulsory voting law or fifty dollar fine at tax time,
That should cure the problem and the numbers will no doubt climb.

Those who have been elected are not keen on mandatory votes,
The new voters may be different and sowing their wild oats,
They might want death with dignity and referendums and what next?
Best to do nothing or say it's very and too complex.

How do we get capital punishment installed in our system?
Though there appears to be fierce opposition to this wisdom,
But lethal injections could be installed without much fuss,
If the politicians and the people themselves have the guts.

The Selfish Fish

Once upon a time
a very small fish
started to change his dish
was envious of others
and did not feel fine.

The bigger fishes
creating big bubbles
and were honored
as respectful swimmers
and producing no trouble.

Instead of normal eat
the small fish now ate
the letters and words
of a newspaper found wet
in the sea of the state.

Now he also earns
lovely returns
of the bigger ones
creating big bubbles
and was heard with his words.

But due to the food
he got thinner
and blow up himself
with air
to be the winner.

Now he looks
like a blow-fish
but empty and thin
only the air and the
words were in.

The time has come
to select the best
the blubber of the year
a national
fish poetry test.

So astonished he was
chosen as the one
he got the best reputation
and honored by
the whole fish civilization.

For the next contest
he was invited
to speak in front
of all animals
united.

But therefore
he had to went on land
publishing his words
in books
which were sent.

The publishing house
give to understand
they will create
with him
a very new brand.

But just when he was
starting to bubble
at land his first big bubbles
he died
loosing all air and his trouble.

So the morality could be
watch and comment
the bubbles of the others to learn
and to earn respect and knowledge
and to stay proud and happily
as a fish in the sea.

Wind Wörter

Während der Wind weht,
wehen vage Wörter
gedankenverloren vor sich hin,
wissen mehr als sie sagen,
würden schweigen,
wenn Worte verstünden.

Wer aber weiß,
was Wörter wissen,
würden sie sagen,
was sie verstünden
oder schweigend
und gedankenverloren
dem Wind
vage Wörter zuwispern?

Ach, Wind - wüßtest du wohl
was Worte verstünden,
wissend wie Wörter
gedankenverloren
von dir getragen
vage vor sich hin wehen,
schweigend.

Würdest du, lieber Wind
dein Wissen
von verwehten Worten
weitertragen
zu Wartenden,
die vage verstünden,
was Worte wissen?

What Do You Really Believe?

It is a natural fact of life that we human beings believe in
one thing or another – either tangible or intangible
The belief system of individual is sometimes determined by
parental heritage, place of birth, religion and societal values

We all grow up believing in many things our parents believe in
By the time we finish high school, our belief system transforms
The transformation occurs through our perception of the society
as influenced by our daily contact with classmates and neighbors
By the time we graduate from colleges and universities
Our belief system metamorphosed to a new level
through our interactions and relationships with the society

What do you really believe?
It is a known fact that many people believe in a Supreme Being
Different names are attributed to this Supreme Being
The name varies from one geographical location to another
The name also differs from one religion to another
To several people, the Supreme Being in known as God
To many mystics, the Supreme Being is called Universal Intelligence

What do you really believe?
Numerous people believe it is allright to eat all kinds of foods
While some believe it is wrong to eat animals and animal products
These people called vegans say that all animals are our friends
Therefore, nobody has the right to slaughter their friends for food

What do you really believe?
Almost everybody believe in the power of money
to solve all their problems and end their difficulties
Some say, even if money cannot make you happy
at least, money will give you peace of mind

What do you really believe?
It is true that what we believe influences our overall perception
Our belief system affects our approach to work ethics
Our belief system shapes our attitude to friends and neighbors
It is right time to search your conscience and ask yourself
What do I really believe?
Whatever may be your beliefs, please enjoy yourself
because you may never pass this road again.

Stop the Game, Please!

Leave alone, please!
I cannot copy
Your methods anymore,
Take your advice away
And donate it to charity
Instead of burdening
My delicate condition
With long formed
Cultural habits...

I have reached a point
Where you must take me
Or leave me
As I come to you_
I will not learn new ways
Mine are cemented in trial
And constant error...

Like a tree first planted,
The seed of an unwilling
New generation,
Left wild to grow freely
In the unrestrained air
Of a wood possessed
By no earthly proprietor,
Out, saved, molded
Into manageable bits,
Cast off for an eternity
And dry out all its life-
Preserving moisture and tossed
Inconsiderately into flames
Which never dies...
Consumed in the name of necessity,
Practicality burned, scorched,
Poked at and reduced to ashes...

I cannot be planted
In this ground again
And be made to grow into anything,
Anymore I can nurture a warm home-
Matter, once destroyed,
Will not return
In the same structure!
I will appear again,
Immaterial and immortal
For the body dies
But never the soul...

Poverty-II

Satiated, desiring but not having enough food to offer some, is also poverty,

Sheltered, wishing, but failing to accommodate a guest, is also poverty,

Treated, prescribed, but unable to effort better treatment is also poverty,

Clothed, requiring but can't afford sufficient to meet the need is also poverty,

Educating, meritorious, but failing to provide better education is also poverty,

Social, invited but avoiding a ceremony to avoid buying a gift is also poverty,

Celebration, aspiring but fearing expenses not celebrating is also poverty,

Friend in distress, desiring but incompetent to help a friend is also poverty,

oppressed, rights denied, deciding but failing to buy justice is also poverty,

Time elapsed but not repaying debts for not having money is also poverty.

Wind Words

WHILST THE WIND BLOWS

THOUGHT-LOSING WORDS BLEW ALONG

REFLECTING ON THEIR OWN MONOLOGUES

KNOWING MORE THAN THEY SAY

WOULD STAY SILENT

IF WORDS UNDERSTAND

WHAT THEIR CONTENTS IS

BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT WORDS KNOW

WOULD THEY SHARE

WHAT WORDS UNDERSTAND

WHISPERING THEIR KNOWLEDGE

THOUGHT-LOSING AND SILENT

TO THE WIND

OH, WIND - WHAT WOULD HAPPEN

WHEN YOU KNOW

WHAT WORDS UNDERSTAND

ALL THEIR MEANINGS

SPOKEN INTO YOU

AND BEEN HEARD

READY FOR A NEW VOICE

PUTTING THOUGHTS SOFTLY

BETWEEN YOUR LETTERS

OH, LOVELY WIND

WOULD YOU CARRY YOUR WISDOM

ABOUT SPOKEN WORDS CONFIDENTIAL

TO THE WAITING ONES

AND GIVE BACK ALL YOUR KNOWLEDGE

TO SENDERS IN RETURN

WHAT WOULD THE WORLD KNOW

WHEN WINDS SHARE THEIR WISDOM

WHILST THE WIND BLOWS

Mind On My Money

[Chorus - Sean Paul]
I got my mind on my money, my money on my mind
(Got my mind on my money, and my money on my mind)
I got my mind on my money, money on my mind
(Got my mind on my money, and my money on my mind)
I got my mind on my money, my money on my mind
(Got my mind on my money, and my money on my mind)
I got my mind on my money, my money on my mind
(Got my mind on my money, and my money on my mind)
[Verse 1 - Sean Paul]
I got my mind on my money, my money on my mind
The thing I got I sell it, to get it all the time
A nickle or a dime, a half or a pound
Long as my bitch ridin', I'll put a nigga down
Im a playa from the jump, a hustler from the start
Something in your chest, then open up your heart
Im bouta bet it,like Memphis 10, they get it get it
Gotta have it have it, take it all, man if they let me
Ima run it, put somethin' on it, instead of bet it
It's that money, don't make no money, buddy I'm ready
Can I get it? It's win or lose, you know the rules
We rollin', we didn't hit it, now pay your dues
[J-Bo]
Now when it comes to gettin' that cash flow
Im all about that paper, no credit, just straight dough
And for all who don't know, there's money out to be made
So get it while you can, and still it's just a phase
In the eyes of a hustler nigga, you'd be amazed
That time waits for no one, so God, I pray
Try hard not to fall thru life stuck unemployed
So instead I keep on livin' what's given within my void
Put a end after hours scrapin' up all my change
From quarters to dimes, as you see, this ain't no game
So pick up on your pimpin', get on it and never slip
Cuz all on my mind is my money fully gripped (fully gripped)

Poem: Hearts of Saints

An important message for Christ's saints,
is to guard hearts from becoming downtrodden.
Attacks started immediately with Man's creation,
knowing that Adam lost the first estate of Eden.

People must not lose sight of their Godly identity,
during this critical age of holy dispensation.
The Great Commission is still relevant today,
for bringing souls unto the revelation of Salvation.

Eternity is a serious subject that no one,
imbued with the Holy Spirit, should take lightly.
Avoid messages of subverted ideas about the Kingdom;
continue in a Truth-filled life… that shines brightly.

Your belief system demonstrates the way you think;
therefore, daily renew your mind with The Word.
The power of speech yields a degree of influence;
be sure to understand what you've learned and heard.

The love of Christ constrains us to spend time with Him;
we're to repeatedly lift up our voices in prayer.
Cultivate your ongoing relationship with the Lord,
insuring to diligently remain… within His care.

Though we have not reached the fullness of time,
we must remain alert to avoid eternal damnation.
Allow the Holy Spirit to lovingly reveal Truth,
so you may embrace the Kingdom's fullest dimensions.

My verse

There are those who dip their quill in honey
Before they verse the lines of love
There are those who soak it in agony
Before they lay the lines of solitude and loath
I am none of the above
My verse is simple
It puts a smile between two dimples

Life's reaction; My action

I grasped it, the tide of turbulence
I won it, the battle of belief
I fought it, the fear of fury
I taught it, the tips to taming
I loved it, the fun of family
I felt it, the pinch of poverty
I lived it, the life of liberty

Oh, I saw it, the light of 'liberty'
Believed it, the password to 'poverty'
confessed it, the freedom from 'family'
allowed it, the truth that 'tames'
detested it, the flight into fury
hated it, the beauty of the belief
coated it, the triumph over turbulence

How that, the turbulence of trials TAUGHT
The belief of bare beauty BORN
The fury of the founder FROZEN
The taming of the tiger TAKEN in
The family of the favoured FROWNED at
The poverty of the proud PLANTED
The liberty of the lovers LOATHED

My take and the side I take-
Face it, trials' turbulence
defeat it, the battling belief
avoid it, the father's fury
allow it, One's tiger's taming
fuel it, the family's formation
see it, the proud's poverty
and live it, Lord's liberty.

Nevermind

The war was lost
The treaty signed
I was not caught
I crossed the line

I was not caught
Though many tried
I live among you
Well disguised

I had to leave
My life behind
I dug some graves
You’ll never find

The story’s told
With facts and lies
I had a name
But never mind

Never mind
Never mind
The war was lost
The treaty signed

There’s truth that lives
And truth that dies
I don’t know which
So never mind

Your victory
Was so complete
That some among you
Thought to keep

A record of
Our little lives
The clothes we wore
Our spoons our knives

The games of luck
Our soldiers played
The stones we cut
The songs we made

Our law of peace
Which understands
A husband leads
A wife commands

And all of this
Expressions of
The Sweet Indifference
Some call Love

The High Indifference
Some call Fate
But we had Names
More intimate

Names so deep and
Names so true
They’re blood to me
They’re dust to you

There is no need
That this survive
There’s truth that lives
And truth that dies

Never mind
Never mind
I live the life
I left behind

There’s truth that lives...

I could not kill
The way you kill
I could not hate
I tried I failed

You turned me in
At least you tried
You side with them
Whom you despise

This was your heart
This swarm of flies
This was once your mouth
This bowl of lies

You serve them well
I’m not surprised
You’re of their kin
You’re of their kind

Never mind
Never mind
The story’s told
With facts and lies
You own the world
So never mind

Never mind
Never mind
I live the life
I left behind

I live it full
I live it wide
Through layers of time
You can’t divide

My woman’s here
My children too
Their graves are safe
From ghosts like you

In places deep
With roots entwined
I live the life I left behind

Sonnet: The Magic of Poverty

A birth in poverty is luck supreme!
A death in poverty, a great blessing;
A life of poverty is rare a dream;
Achievements great, stark poverty can bring.

’Tis poverty that goads nations do feats;
’Tis poverty that stimulates scientists;
In everything, poverty, wealth just beats;
The greatest men were in poverty’s lists.

And poverty lessens our worries much;
Account to God will be much easier;
Poverty gives the saint a divine touch;
In poverty, poets can fly higher!

Poverty helps to shun worldly pleasures;
A soul in poverty, Heaven allures.

The Moral Rights

‘The moral rights of the author
have been asserted’… that, I’m told,
is what I should say when I write
anything for publication here; even before
I say anything..

It means, I guess, the more, the less..
than ‘Copyright’ which normally
gets printed just above it;
which just means, don’t copy this;

whereas ‘moral rights’ convey
so much more…
suggesting that I even possess morality;
which, considering my wild, undisciplined
former life, you might well question..

but note, I merely ‘assert’ them;
feel free to challenge them (you note that ‘rights’
are plural; plenty lawyer’s fees there
to say, well maybe this, not that…

and you’re free (your defending counsel may assert)
to copy my poem and put your own name to it;
since truth can be in no man’s sole possession,
and my poem, bless its metered tropes,
speaks naught but the truth..

though now I mention ‘truth’, I don’t recall
that phrase about the moral rights
upon the title-page of, let’s say,
the Gospels; Books of Moses; Qu’ran; Upanishads;
those guys on whom we’ve so long depended
to tell us what morality should be..

so please understand, that when I ‘assert’,
it’s more for my self-image than for yours;
makes me feel good; I must be
a serious author, if (in the subtext, scholars footnote)
the moral underpinning may be detected..

and that said – now to the poem.. Except
now I’ve forgotten what I was going to say..

Perhaps that, too, is a moral issue; but
I have the right to remain silent..
even if I’m up on this morality charge..

my defence is, that my Muse,
hearing the word ‘morality’,
flees my company. ’Twas ever so.
