He asked me
He asks me to dance
I stand and stare
I am flabergasted
Refusal defiently no.
I stand shaking
and say yes!
He smiles at me.
Takes my hand
and walks me to the
dance floor.
And guides me
how to dance.
His hands are soft
He smeels nice
I feel proud
First boy ask me
to dance.
this poem was written last year 4th june 2005. i thought no boy would ever ask me to dance, after i looked terrible, and after all my pain i had. the grey sickness was to be seen on my face, and suddenly there stands aboy and asks me to dance. i certainly wouldn't have thought this would have happened-after all i was just starting to control my depression.

Dance dance dance
Dance in the moon light with,
All the stars in sight
Dance to the smiles
Dance in the shadows my love
Dance dance dance.
You may think I'm crazy
I'd dance in the moonlight
I'll dance when I want to
Please let me dance
Dance dance dance
Dancer take my hand to your,
Hand
I need to dance
Close your blue eyes,
Hold me in your arms and,
Dance dance dance.

Dance Dance Dance
After six hours of school I've had enough for the day
I hit the radio dial and turn it up all the way
I gotta dance (dance dance dance now the beat's really hot) right on the spot
(Dance dance dance right there on the spot)
The beat's really hot
(Dance dance dance now the beat's really hot)
Dance (dance) dance (dance) dance (dance) yeah!
When I feel put down I try to shake it off quick
With my guy by my side the radio does the trick
I wanna dance (dance dance dance now the beat's really hot) right on the spot
(Dance dance dance right there on the spot)
The beat's really hot
(Dance dance dance now the beat's really hot)
Dance (dance) dance (dance) dance (dance) yeah!
At a weekend dance we like to show up late
I play it cool when it's slow and jump it when it's fast
I gotta dance (dance dance dance now the beat's really hot) right on the spot
(Dance dance dance right there on the spot)
The beat's really hot

Transmission
Radio, live transmission.
Radio, live transmission.
Listen to the silence, let it ring on.
Eyes, dark grey lenses frightened of the sun.
We would have a fine time living in the night,
Left to blind destruction,
Waiting for our sight.
And we would go on as though nothing was wrong.
And hide from these days we remained all alone.
Staying in the same place, just staying out the time.
Touching from a distance,
Further all the time.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Well I could call out when the going gets tough.
The things that we've learnt are no longer enough.
of the show
And we could dance.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the radio.

Dance, Dance
To the music
Dance, Dance
To the beat
Dance, Dance
To the rhythm
Stomp your feet
Dance, Dance
Even though
Your tune they don't hear
Dance, Dance
For yourself
Have no fear
Dance, Dance
If you're alive
You're doing well
Dance, Dance
And grin
So the world can tell
You know you've got
A life to live
You're looking at the joy
This world can give
And you're dancing and laughing,
Won't be dragged down
You'd rather keep moving
Than stay with a frown
Dance, Dance
'Til it's played to the end
Dance, Dance
With a smile
My truly brave friend

Dance Your Life Away
* in a dance band competition fox-trotting with my girl
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
High geared razzle dazzle, recession is the trouble
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
Thirty hours on the floor and twenty partners left
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
Feel so tired it must be a week
Nearly on my knees
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
**
California, you always seem to have the sun
But I never really got near to it
And you try your hand at anything you know
Just to try and earn a dollar
--solo--

Repeat
** repeat

Dance!
dance!
in the light of the dawn.
dance!
as if there were none.
dance!
to the call and the cry.
dance!
today you live, tomorrow
you die....
dance!
without holding back.
dance!
the color between white
and black...
dance!
for the gift of the pain.
dance!
in the sunlight, in the rain.
dance!
let two become one!
dance!
till all is said, and
all is done...
dance!
let your life be a prayer.
dance!
because you can, because
you care....

I dance for the love
I dance for the love
I dance even when I feel pain
I dance knowing there's something to gain
I dance for the love
I dance for me
I dance for everyone to see
I dance for the love
I dance as the sunshine
I dance hoping you will be mine
I dance for the love
I dance with words to say
I dance all day
I dance for the love
I dance even when you leave
I dance and still believe
I dance for the love

You Can Dance If You Want To
we can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends dont dance
And if they dont dance
Well they're no friends of mine
Say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Because you're one far behind
We can dance
We can go where we want to
The night is young and so am i
And we can dress real neat
From out hats to our feet
Then surprise them with a big trick ride
Say, we can act if we want to
If we dont, nobody will
And you can act real rude
And totally removed
And i can act like an imbusil
Say, we can dance
We can dance
Everything's outta control
We can dance
We can dance
We're doing it more and more
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody's taking the cha-nce
It's safe to dance
Oh well, it's safe to dance
Yes, it's safe to dance
We can dance if we want to
We've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it
Never gonna lose it
Everything will work out right
I say, we can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Because your friends dont dance
And if they dont dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can dance
We can dance
Everything's outta control
We can dance
We can dance
We're doing it more and more
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance
We can dance
Everybody's taking the cha-ance
Well, it's safe to dance
Yes, it's safe to dance
Well, it's safe to dance
Oh well, it's safe to dance
Ah yes, it's safe to dance
Well, it's safe to dance
It's safe to dance
It's safe to dance

After The Dance
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
I want you-and you want me
So why don't we-
Get together after the dance
When I first saw you
Lookin' good on the Soul Train
So good
I cannot get you sharp and right
Dancin' good-spinnin' everywhere
I thought to myself
You were so fine
The ways you move
So fine
She's movin' so real, I need her
What you need is me
I want you-and you want me
So why don't we-
Get together after the dance
While we danced
Let's break this baby
You were so fine
The way you moved me
Your eyes
Told me of warm things
Oh baby, ??? between you and me
Got to live in my sweet lovin', baby
Nobody else's got, nobody's got my love
??? if I were you
I want you to take me with you
What'cha gonna do
I want you-and you want me
So why don't we-
Get together after the dance
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
Dance with me
Come on dance with me, baby
I want you-and you want me
So why don't we-
Get together after the dance

Thought I Couldnt Dance
Stand back, and give me room
And listen to that beat
I got the music in my soul
And the rhythm in my feet
When I hear the music,
You wont catch me standing still
And I wont miss a beat
I never have and I never will
And you thought I couldnt dance
And you thought I couldnt dance
I can dance to anything
That any band can play
Ive got old-fashioned values
But Im pretty up to date
And I know all the latest hits
On the radio
You dont have to join me
Stand back and watch my show
And you thought I couldnt dance
And you thought I couldnt dance
Thought I couldnt dance
Hey, watch me prance
Lets make romance
Thought I couldnt dance
You gotta take a chance
If youre gonna learn to dance
And you thought I couldnt dance
And you thought I couldnt dance
Theres a lot of closet dancers
Just dyin to come out
They dance alone inside their rooms
With the music way up loud
And I know you thought I couldnt dance
But I guess I sure fooled you
It just goes to show you never know
Whos wearing dancin shoes
And you thought I couldnt dance
Im full of surprises
And you thought I couldnt dance
Its too late now
I cant slow down...cant slow down
Oh, feel the heat
From these dancin feet... cant slow down
And you thought I couldnt dance
And you thought I couldnt dance
Repeat...

Dance, Dance, Dance
Never thought love had a rainbow on it
Used to think a cloud was a nightmare
That was up until I first met you
Now I go around hoping you care.
Dance, dance, feel it all around you
Dance, dance, dance,
Never thought love had a rainbow on it
See the girl dance
See the girl dance.
Mississippi mud never touched her fingers
California sand lies in her hand
Love her more than life as the daylight lingers
Early in the morning Ill be her man.
Dance, dance, feel it all around you
Dance, dance, dance,
Mississippi mud never touched her fingers
See the girl dance
See the girl dance.

Give Me Dancing Music(Song) :
I've been tempted.
And it's not so good.
I'm gonna pick up the pieces.
Then mend my ways.
So give me dancing music.
Let me dance all day.
Let me lift my feet up.
Then dance across the floor.
Dit-dit-dit-dance across, dance across.
Dance across the floor.
Let me dance across, dance across.
Dance across the floor.
I've been waiting.
For you to arrive.
And I was wondering.
If you were mine.
I can go on forever.
Or take my time.
Go on forever.
Or dance till nine.
So give me dancing music.
Let me dance all day.
Let me lift my feet up.
Then dance across the floor.
Dit-dit-dit-dance across, dance across.
Dance across the floor.
Let me dance across, dance across.
Let me dance across the floor..

Long Tall Glasses
Writers: leo sayer & david courtney
I was travellin down the road, feelin hungry and cold
I saw a sign sayin food and drinks for everyone
So naturally I thought I would take me a look inside
I saw so much food, there was water comin from my eye
Yeah there was ham an there was turkey, there was caviar
An long tall glasses, with wine up to yar
An then somebody grabbed me, threw me outta my chair
Said before you can eat, you gotta dance like fred astaire
You know I cant dance, you know I cant dance
You know I cant dance, you know I cant dance
I cant dance
I am a man of the road -- a hobo by name
I dont seek entertainment, just poultry and game
But if its all the same to you, then yes I will try my hand
If you were as hungry as me then Im sure you would understand
Hmmm
Now wait a minute
Let me see now
Of course I can dance of course I can dance
Im sure I can dance, Im sure I can dance..
I can dance
I can dance
I really hit the floor
Ah feels good
Look at me dancin
I did a two-step, quick-step and a bossa nova
A little victor silvester, and a rudy valentino
You should a seen me movin, right across the floor
Hand me down my tuxedo, next week Im comin back for more
I can dance -- oh yes! I can dance
Look at me dancin the floor movin
I feel good -- I can dance
I can dance, I can dance, I can dance.

Dance
dance the river is there to rise
dance touch me and close your eyes
dance the winds will touch your feet
just dance and dance feel the beat
dance the river will find its mouth
dance east and west north and south
dance the river will find my lips
dance the poles to move my hips
dance the bees are dancing hives
dance the trees are swaying lives
dance the waves are breaking through
dance the sides for me and you
dance the birds are dancing flights
dance the stars are dancing nights
dance the currents dancing veins
dance in soils dancing grains
dance the last atom cutting a knot
just dance and dance until you cannot

You Gotta Dance
We like to throw our bodies around
We like to feel each other
We're all slaves when we hear that sound says dance
Says dance
Says ya gotta dance
Says dance
And there ain't no two ways about it
We're all compelled to rise and thrust
When we all move together
We're all hypnotized by savage lust
Says dance
Says dance
Says ya gotta dance
Says dance
I'm so hot it makes me shiver
Makes me wet
Makes me slide
It's some spirit I'm possessed by I can't stop
We just got to dance
Dance
Dance
We gotta blow when he says blow
And we gotta shake and shimmy
We got the strings tied to our soul
Says dance
Says dance
Says we gotta dance
(And I don't mean tomorrow) says dance

Live free, Dance hard
Dance when no ones looking,
Dance harder when they are
Dance to heal a wound,
Dance to heal a scar
Dance under the rain
Dance under the sun
And when you think you cant dance,
Just get outside and run
Dance to the sound of the leaves,
Dance to the song in your heart
Dance even tho you know...
That your world is falling apart.

I Just Want To Dance With You
I dont want to be the kind to hesitate,
Be too shy, wait too late
I dont care what they say other lovers do,
I just want to dance with you.
I gotta feeling that you have a heart like mine,
So let it show, let it shine.
If we have a chance to make one heart of two,
I just want to dance with you.
I want to dance with you, twirl you all around the floor
Thats what they intended dancin for,
I just want to dance with you.
I want to dance with you, hold you in my arms once more,
Thats what they invented dancin for,
I just want to dance with you.
I caught you lookin at me when I looked at you,
Yes I did, aint that true?
You wont get embarrassed by the things I do,
I just want to dance with you.
Oh the boys are playin softly and the girls are too,
So am I and so are you.
If this was a movie, wed be right on cue,
I just want to dance with you.
I want to dance with you, twirl you all around the floor
Thats what they intended dancin for,
I just want to dance with you.
I want to dance with you, hold you in my arms once more,
Thats what they invented dancin for,
I just want to dance with you.
I just want to dance with you,
I just want to dance with you,
I just want to dance with you.
