Red, Red Rose

Red, red rose, she blew her breath
Fingers, it’s stem she caressed
Then she closed her eyes and breathed the fragrance in
Tell me red, red rose, where does love end

She placed the rose, gently against her lips
She plucked a single petal, with finger tips
And as the wind caught and carried up high
Tell me red, red rose, can love it fly

Slowly one by one, each petal fell
Upon the last in her eye, a tear it swelled
And then she sighed as she asked to her self
Tell me red, red rose, is for love, is this what’s left

Red, red rose, red, red rose
You stand for love you should know
Should we hold on tight with all our might
Must one day we let go

Red, red rose, red, red rose
Your petals fly in the breeze
If I let go, red, red rose
What becomes of me.

A Rose Petal

A Rose Petal
By: Artistic Perspective

Age 12

A Rose Petal quickly falls off its rose.
I see that it's falling quickly, but in my mind I see it slowly.
What's pleasant about a piece of itself ripping, tearing away?
The only pleasant thought about it, is it will grow a new rose.
I watch the petal fall and plummet.
Until it hits the ground.
Rose petals, Rose petals, are all around.
Why must they fall off?
The rose is now unwhole.
Hopefully, it will come back,
Restore the rose's soul.

Friends Never Say Goodbye

Friends never say
goodbye...
But you and me
will never be the
same again.

Our friendship is
like a dying rose...
Every petal falls
off.

Every single rose petal
means something....
What you did to our
friendship is that
rose petal.

I’m sorry....but that
rose...is never going
to grow back....
And neither is our
friendship.

Petal of a Rose

A whole forest of them,
Or just a single petal of a rose,
Is enough,

Grasp it in my hand,
Grasp it I shall,
In hurricanes or normal rainy days,
It won't leave my caring palms,
That one petal of a rose,
To remind me of the rose in all her beauty,

But the rose is gone,
In some other forest some place far,
A forest forbidden to me,
There it blooms without me,
Only because of this fool's mistake,

So please do not escape or leave me,
Petal of a rose,

Everlasting Rose

a rose is often used to show
your affectionate feelings to
someone special.

The 'r' in the word represents
The radiant beauty of a rose.
For no flow can compare.
For you are like a rose filled with passion
And are truly one of a kind.

The 'o' represents the overwhelming
depths of color of each petal of
the rose. It's like the outstanding
depths of color that spark in
your beautiful eyes.

The 's' represents the Softness
of each petal of the rose.
For your lips are like the
petalsof a rose, soft and sweet
to each kiss.

The 'e' represents the everlasting
beauty of the rose, for the rose
soon fades and dies.

But the everlasting beauty of it
stays in the eye of your mind forever
for you are like my rose.
For your beauty is everlasting
neither fades nor dies in the
eyes of the one that cares for you.

My Special Red Rose

My Special Red Rose

My special red rose so full of life just blossoming with
lovely red petals
Always looking so beautiful and radiant in the morning sun
And now yet again another red petal has falling from my
beautiful rose
but the petals that remain are very dear to me because they are still part of my lovely red rose.
Yet today my special red rose doesn't blossom quite as full but I still look at it every day in the morning light
For the lovely red petals that are still on my special
red rose
bring so much joy and happiness to my hearts delight

First rose

A heart of youthful year was yearning,
Crying out the pain; the burning
Tears would e’er remain until
An answer from the man would see them die.

A sympathetic mirror blessed her –
Softened up the curves, caressed her
Skin to help regain a calm –
Assuage a heaving breast and blushing eye.

And through a struggling mind, a chiming:
Someone at the door; the timing
Perfect and exquisite in the
Reconciliation of her woes.

She took the oak to make the parting,
‘Here! ’ a presentation startling.
Drawing deep through radiant lips, she
Kissed her very dream: a crimson rose.

The Rose

Sometimes you come upon a unpicked wild rose
And sometimes you come upon people
Who are beautiful like an unpicked wild rose

There so beautiful and smell so great
But somehow seem much more beautiful
Every time you look at them

And when you come upon a rose that's unpicked
You can't help but want to cut the rose off
And carry it around and show it off

We all know roses have thorns on them
But there so beautiful that you
Must have one for your own

So you try and cut a rose off
And get pricked on your finger
You bleed but you still keep trying

After you get the rose
You run home
To show it off

You eventually get a band-aid to cover the prick
Where the rose bit you
After you take the band-aid off you see the scar

It eventually goes away in time
But you will always remember
Where the rose bit you
But it doesn't stop you
From trying to get another
Beautiful rose

Still A Rose

A rose is a rose every day, every night
You too are the same, except different in my sight

You are like a rose, such a beautiful creation
But a rose in disguise, meant to blume for every nation

So show your beauty, for I know what you are
You are a rose in disguise, and very, very wise

A rose is a rose is a rose.....

My Beautiful Rose

This is my rose
so beautiful so pure
It's mine and I will not bestow
I want to show it
but, they will take it

They can not, this is my rose
and I will not share it

Time transended
I had forgotten about my rose
my beautiful rose

As I held it
It felt so bleak
What have I done to
my beautiful rose
This is my rose
so sad so wistful

So I have decided
I want to share it
I want to share it only with you
I want to share solely with you...

A Rose To Remember....

i am reading about the death of a rose
i am reflecting about
death of freedom
it is all about a rose, a wilting rose, a brown rose,
a dry rose
each petal falling softly on the ground
a dry ground full of sand and pebbles
all footprints covered
abandoned, i am talking

about the death of a rose, the death of the freedom of the rose
the death of freedom, the rose of death, the freedom of death,

is it you now that i talk about? that i must remember?
have i met you before when i was but a thorn, a worm, a leaf?
was i the sand
a pebble, the wind? will you be a rose forever?
is there death in you?

i feel the wind, i smell the rose,
there is no death....

The rose inside me

The rose inside me:

You were the rose inside me, now you are but
the thorn of that stem that flourishes this rose
who stabs inside me?
When you shot the bullet of hate -
into this heart that loved you more than love it-self
you were my root of the bud I planted.
Now no-more than a dead petal.
No-more the rose in me.

What A Rose Can Say

A rose can say I love you and want you to be mine,
A rose can say I thank you for being so very kind,
A rose can say congratulations, whatever the occasion may be,
A rose can say I miss you and wish you were here with me,
A rose can say I'm sorry if I've hurt you in any way,
A rose can say get well soon, May God bless you today,
A rose can say I wish you happiness, and the best for you each day.
A rose can say farewel when someone goes away,
A rose can say hello, I'm thinking of you today,
There's just so many wonderful things that a rose can say,
A rose can say goodbye when a love one is laid to rest,
No matter what there is to say, a rose can say it best.

To Muriel: at the Opera

Roses and rose-buds, red and white,
Nestled between your breasts to-night,
And, lying there with drowsy breath,
Sweetly resigned themselves to death.
Ah, cruel child! that would not so
Suffer the perfumed life to go,
But, hungering for the rose's heart
Of midmost sweetness, plucked apart
Petal from petal: 'Ah!' you said
(With lips that kissed white roses red)
'To live on love and roses!'

Well,
But if the rose were Muriel?

Little Rose

Little rose,
What did you come from?
Little rose,
Look how beautiful you are.
Little rose,
With your soft peddles.
Little rose,
With your sharp thorns.
Little rose,
Why can't I pick you?
