From The Ballrooms
Awakened into the orbit where they are
Without voices—somewhere shouting mutedly
To the remaining coyotes who have no dinner dates:
The circus and the fireworks tents
Are taken down and someone else writes a better
Novel and dreams of running away—
Ogled by truckers in the shopping malls of their
Heirlooms—as the Indians sleep downhill from
The flea markets of their gas stations—
And their dreams have no stanzas—maybe it is
Because they fought too long, and that they couldn't
Understand any of their numbers:
When they saw the goldfish in the wishing wells of
Their shopping malls, they just pissed on them—
And did not wait for the rain to leave to step outside:
They became too drunkardly for their girlfriends
Who left them for boys who could almost always be
Defined by their occupations—firefighters and werewolves,
As the lights fell away from the cities at the edge of
The world that no one cared about—far away from
The ballrooms in which almost anyone could become famous.

Shopping
Were buying and selling your history
How we go about it is no mystery
We check it with the city, then change the law
Are you looking forward?
Now you want some more
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping
Its easy when you got all the information
Inside help, no investigation
(no investigation, investigation)
No questions in the house, no give and take
Theres a big bang in the city
Were all on the make
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping
Our gain is your loss, thats the price you pay
I heard it in the house of commons: everythings for sale
Were shopping
Were shopping
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping
Ah ah ah, ah ah ah, ah ah ah, ah ah
Ah ah ah, ah ah ah, ah ah ah, ah ah
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping
Were s-h-o-pp-i-n-g, were shopping

Shopping for Yesterday
Busy crowds, lonely hearts, broken dreams
Shopping for yesterday.
Visiting the shared moments,
In all the familiar places
When shopping for yesterday.
We are all prisoners of the past
When shopping for yesterday
Knee deep in our loneliness
Surrounded by the crowd
We’re shopping for yesterday.
Pictures and memories
Half-forgotten words
Time slipping away
From the windmills of my mind
When shopping for yesterday.

I Believe
I believe
in the hallelujah chorus of the shopping malls
we say we cant, we know we shant, well of course we shall
Cause I've seen, I believe
That we are forever something which is incomplete
we trade ourselves for nothings and words are our conceits
I have seen, now I believe
That the ceaseless, seamless strain of your heart
One day you'll cause itself to make a start
with me,we believe
I Never thought I'd string along
I never thought we'd last this long
But we've seen, so we believe
in the hallelujah chorus of the shopping malls
we say we cant, we know we shant, of course we shall
Cause we've seen, now we believe
I Never thought I'd string along
I never thought we'd last this long
I have seen, I Believe
That we are forever something which is incomplete
we trade ourselves for nothings and words are our conceits
I have seen, I believe

Progress
Dress your legs with nylons
with cat eyes in between
glowing next to huge pylons
never serene, just weirdly obscene
and destroy every patch of green
with shopping malls and every chain store
disrupting how towns and cities had been
and plant power stations by the score
and be a age totally foul
with scores of minibus taxi's asunder
acting as if without a soul
to kill and to plunder
with the monsters bellowing
smoke like gallows, energizing electrical strings.

My rights..
My parents take me to the Malls one after another,
Where I have seen local people and foreigners,
Young boys and girls hug and kiss each other, while shopping,
My parents did not bother to notice what I am watching,
Every Sunday we visit the Malls to shop and roam,
Until our legs are tired and then only we come back home,
Exam is nearer and I am grounded with books and tuition,
Outing, entertainment and TV all out of reach,
My father, a professional, wants me to excel,
My professional mother prays for me to succeed,
Both of them try to educate me as much as possible,
Even they may think of programming the brain of their child,
I am not as excellent as them and I want to practice,
How I was brought up. But they scold and curse,
That I am rebellious, not cultured and loose.

A Disability Inside A Rustic Room...
someone writes about
a rebellion, a struggle of a set of native still not free
even in this age of
a shrinking world
where everything seems to be a text away
or that distance
which curls and tells you
they are all there and happy in green
and white
hands in prayer and minds in peace
and mouths speaking about abundance and wellness
and paradise thriving in skyscrapers
and parks
someone writes about the death of civilians under
oppressive regimes
brought about by leaders who refuse to step down
or someone exposes the trafficking of women somewhere in southeast Asia
and brought in bulgaria or
a black island
someone writes about a strike of workers whose wages are
below survival
about the hardships of exploited laborers
while their employers are enjoying so much of the profits
wasting it in the beaches of
Thailand and
the shopping malls of Singapore
i could have been that someone
but i am here stacked in the haystacks of my own silly dreams
stuffed like a bear
and dressed in black robe
hammering my days like
a metal smith
sweating it out beside a big fire
but still unable to decide what shape to make out of this metal
what sharpness is needed
in this sword without a
luster.

For a Place
Foggy, dirty sea
Such a nice view by sea
Out-dated rides
Such a great park ever in our lifes
Tiny little malls
Such a shopping paradise for those who want more
Believing in those online adv?
Come and leave the web!
Take a look at the truth
Here is nothing but the statue and the myth.

Thanks for visiting
from the crowded shopping malls to the quiet corners of the homes
we roam alone living the life bestowed upon us
every now and then we connect with strange souls
some were brief encounters and some where friendships bloomed
together they become the very elements that defines our fleeting life
everyone we met through chance and fate
teaches us a thing or two during of their stay
we met millions of people in our lives but
only a few were allowed to help make & walk our courses and
only one or two can leave imprints that dictate whatever may come
thanks to those that came and left, leaving us gratified
thanks to those that came and left, leaving us shattered
and thanks to those that came and never left, leaving us feeling loved
and thanks to those whom we have yet to meet
everything we do and every choice that we make takes us a step closer to the truth
we share, we learn, and sometimes we just observe and take no actions
we came alone and will leave alone
it’s the times in between that we had company
so thanks to those that came along and
gave meaning and depth to our evanescent existence

Tonight the city is full of morgues, and all the toilets are overflowing. There's shopping malls coming out of the walls, as we walk out among the manure. That's why I pay no mind.
In Shepherd’s Bush - Hymn to Westfield
In Shepherd’s Bush, I shall not want
For anything to buy,
For Westfield shopping centre, there,
Will all my wants supply.
My spirits are restored again
When I can view the ranks
Of well-stocked, chic designer shops
E’en though I owe the banks.
Yea, though I walk through debt’s dark vale,
As I approach the till,
My credit card will comfort me,
Though I still fear the bill.
For there are tables, furniture
And presents, cushions, throws
To decorate my living room
Until it overflows.
And though the bailiffs some fine day
May try to follow me,
Still, shopping malls, my spending place
Forevermore shalt be.

040810c We Have Laughs, We Have Fun
yesterday i have fun, very happy
we went to panera for dinner
we chat we joke, taken very well
so wonderful to be with family
over a bowl of soup, sandwich
just being out there is remarkable
after a dinner we went shopping
it turn out to be gathering suspects
then we went to golf driving range
to iron out swings or learn how to
girls tried it first; balls rolls downhill
we didn't do much, we have our fill
***
unexpected outing with my family
on sunny afternoon in hampton roads,
virginia.
we have laughs
we have hugs
we have kiss
we have fun,
we have dreams
to do it again
and it will be soon

The State of Things
When the sonnets sing praises
to the world
and you are the center of my universe,
When school has let out
and
the shopping malls are closed,
When the songbirds speak
with
tulips on their tounges,
When you can't
get John Lennon out
of your head,
I realize that you are Proxima Centauri
and I wake up
to real life.

The Celebration Of Jesus' Birthday
Each year when Christmas comes round,
I sometimes wonder if we really understand what its all about.
We are so busy talking about Santa Claus,
and rushing to the shopping malls,
trying to hurry and buy them out,
That we never stop and think
that its Jesus' Birthday,
We are to Celebrate.
This Christmas, when we open our gaily wrapped Christmas Gifts,
with their Ribbons Bows, and Tinsel,
Let us Remember its Jesus' Birthday.
That's why it's Christmas.
Like the wise men with their Gifts, of Frankincense, and Myrrh.
Let us give the wonderful gift of peace and love.
For Jesus, was born as the Saviour, of the world.
When we sit down to our Christmas Dinner.
Let us bow our heads, and pray.
Let us Remember it's a Celebration of Jesus' Birthday.

Deep Depression
Accomodating whims,
Have noticeably slimmed...
More than a wee bit now.
A running up of debts,
Have met brick walls!
Window shopping at malls,
Has also been stalled...
With credit limits pinched.
And those premeditated Christmas lists,
Prepared to uplift spirits in the heat of July...
Do a drive by.
With no passengers to fulfill,
Minds teased with materialistic dreams treated.
Many are seen dismounting from their high horses!
With easy courses to bypass the realities of life,
To breeze through deceitfully...
Have stopped.
And the only happiness appearing on faces...
Belong to those who have chosen to live on less!
Disregarding the taunting done,
They did.
By the ones now witnessed,
Going through a deep depression!
With a wish for those days...
They sought to impress!
