Free at Last!

Freedom! Freedom!
so hot! hot! hot!
Juba, Juba let me sing
Juba, Juba let me dance
my independence is joy
my independence is dream
to bring new tomorrow
from the rubbles of yesterday
Juba, Juba let me think
now is my freedom
and I see my dream.

Conquest Of Prejudice

Unto a Yorkshire school was sent
A negro youth to learn to write,
And the first day young Juba went
All gazed on him as a rare sight.

But soon with altered looks askance
They view his sable face and form,
When they perceive the scornful glance
Of the head boy, young Henry Orme.

He in the school was first in fame:
Said he, 'It does to me appear
To be a great disgrace and shame
A black should be admitted here.'

His words were quickly whispered round,
And every boy now looks offended;
The master saw the change, and found
That Orme a mutiny intended.

Said he to Orme, 'This African
It seems is not by you approved;
I'll find a way, young Englishman,
To have this prejudice removed.

'Nearer acquaintance possibly
May make you tolerate his hue;
At least 'tis my intent to try
What a short month may chance to do.'

Young Orme and Juba then he led
Into a room, in which there were
For each of the two boys a bed,
A table, and a wicker chair.

He locked them in, secured the key,
That all access to them was stopt;
They from without can nothing see;
Their food is through a skylight dropt.

A month in this lone chamber Orme
Is sentenced during all that time
To view no other face or form
Than Juba's parched by Afric clime.

One word they neither of them spoke
The first three days of the first week;
On the fourth day the ice was broke;
Orme was the first that deigned to speak.

The dreary silence o'er, both glad
To hear of human voice the sound,
The negro and the English lad
Comfort in mutual converse found.

Of ships and seas and foreign coast
Juba can speak, for he has been
A voyager: and Orme can boast
He London's famous town has seen.

In eager talk they pass the day,
And borrow hours even from the night;
So pleasantly time passed away,
That they have lost their reckoning quite.

And when their master set them free,
They thought a week was sure remitted,
And thanked him that their liberty
Had been before the time permitted.

Now Orme and Juba are good friends;
The school, by Orme's example won,
Contend who most shall make amends
For former slights to Afric's son.

Independance Day

One electrified eye
Freezing metalized smile
No more cheating the code
The scene is set - emotions disconnected
Welcome to the cyber trail
Laser cops and sirens wail
Held down with magnetic force
Said: come with us - you broke the law
Obey the rules - dont do no wrong
A thought too loud - and crime is done
No appeal for the common man
Just cold hard facts - in computer land
All freedom burns on eternal fire
Theres no more independence day
Forever gone never have another
No other independence day
Cyborg arms put the straps around
One more second till the switch comes down
Flaching lights - a cage of steel
Turns my head into a dead dogs meal
In this world - robotic rage
Youll understand the acid pain
Do no right - you wont last long
Remote controlled - under the heel of submission
All freedom burns on eternal fire
Theres no more independence day
Forever gone never have another
No other independence day
No remorse - for human kind
No recourse - to keep your mind
Its too late - theres no escape
Is this the end of the line
All freedom burns on eternal fire
Theres no more independence day
Forever gone never have another
No other independence day
All freedom burns on eternal fire
Theres no more independence day
Forever gone never have another
No other independence day
No use for humanity
Well never ever be free again
No tomorrows
Zero - the number of the year

Happy Fourth Of July!

Dawn was grey, overcast, this Independence Day
A comment on how we treat independence and freedom now?
The freedom of the wolves to live, the polar bears to thrive
The freedom of a conflicted people to fight for the government they choose
Without the boots of our young men and women insisting on our choice

You can have the kind of freedom we dictate
As long as you do it our way, we will be your kindly uncle
We will smile and pat you gently on your head
Until you choose a way different from your kindly uncle's demands
Then the boots will return to stomp you into our way

Happy Fourth of July!
I would like to stand and sing The Star Spangled Banner
And know it was a salute to how we got our freedom
To watch the flag pass by and feel proud of our way of life
Today it seems only to mean we are in charge controlling others

Happy Independence Day

Blow up them firecrackers.
Light up the sky.
Because it's Happy Independence Day.
I've been meaning to say..

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happ..
Happy Independence Day, Happy Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.

Sparklers glowing.Stars and stripes showing.
Nothing but happy people.Celebrating the Fourth Of July.
The birth of our country.The birth of our flag.
Because our founding fathers.Always wanted it this way.

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happ..
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.

Fifty stars and thirteen stripes.
The flag still flies.The American way.
Old Glory's the name.Old Glory's the same.
Join with the crowd, for the American dream.

So blow up them firecrackers.
Light up the sky.
Because it's Happy Independence Day.
I've been meaning to say.

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happ..
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.

Freedom and Beauty

It is a beautiful mind to feel free.
It is a beautiful feeling to set someone free.
Freedom is the hard statement to get.
Freedom is the only feeling to get.
*
Freedom is the statement that shows your independence.
Freedom is the power that shows your right.
But while speaking of almost 7 billion individuals on the earth
At least 7 billion needs and rights that might complicate their life.
*
Showing his independence might be more important for some people.
Feeling responsible for others may be more important for other people.
*
To be honest with you, i never felt free,
Because I didn’t know what it is.
After I realized what freedom is,
I saw how hard to recognize that you are free.
^
How hard to know that you are free to live.
How hard to know that you are free to speak.
How hard to know that you are free to love and trust.
How hard to know that you are free to be loved and trusted.
^
That what you have in your everyday life, is your freedom.
This is not just everyday schedule, that’s your freedom.
How blind are we to not see how free we are.
How ugly is it to not see how beautiful freedom is.
^
Freedom is beautiful, but hard to see.
Freedom is beautiful, but hard to feel.

Independance Day

Well she seemed all right by dawn's early light though she looked a
little
worried and weak. She tried to pretend he wasn't drinking again but
daddy
left the proof on her cheek. and I was only eight years old that summer
and I always seemed to be in the way so I took myself don to the fair in
town on independence day.
Well word gets around in a small, small town they said he was a dangerous
man. But momma was proud and she stood her ground, she knew she was on
the
losing end. Some folks whispered some folks talked but everybody looked
the other way and when time ran out there was no one about on
Independence
Day.
Chorus:
Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing. Let the whole world know that
today is a day of reckoning. Let the weak be strong let the right be
wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay it's independence day.
Well she lit up the sky that 4th of July by the time that the firemen
had
come. they just put out the flames and took down some names and sent me
to
the county home. Now I ain't saying that it's right or it's wrong but
maybe it's the only way Talk about your revolution, It's independence
Day
Repeat Chorus
Roll the stone away, It's Independence day.

Are we really free?

Freedom, a state of mind,
Freedom, an illusion,
Freedom, a nonsense of lunatic
Until it is spiritual.
As long as we are slaves of
Our petty self-interests,
Our prejudice,
And our false ego,
We are not free.
We may celebrate the festival of freedom Hundred times,
We are still slaves.
The Independence Day marks
Material freedom
not
the spiritual one.
Unless we are spiritually free,
We are like sheep devoid of sentiments.

True Independence Day

Sans sincerity, honesty and discipline
Freedom is nowhere to be found ever!
Corruption, malpractice and violence
Ever keep freedom at bay anywhere!

Birds enjoy freedom flying in open sky;
Fish enjoy freedom swimming in deep sea;
Lions and elephants wander as they wish;
Can we ever be free to do so...........at all?

If we are free as birds we enjoy freedom;
But are we really ablate to do so ever.....?
As Poet I have freedom of expression no one
Anywhere has as far as Poetry is concerned!

Man and woman should enjoy freedom ever
Free, frank and fearless as poets and birds are!
That day only the Independence day is true
And celebration of the day is joyful and real

State Of Independence

State of life-may I live-may I love
Coming out the sky, I name me a name
Coming out-silver word-what it is
It is the very nature of the sound the game
Siamese, indionese. to tibet treat the life
As a game, if you please
(hey)
Coming up-carabi-this sense of freedom
Derives from a medative state
Movin on, believe thats it, call it magic
Third world, it is, I only guessed it
Shablam idi shablam ida
Shablam idi shablam ida
Shablam idi shablam ida
Shot to the soul-the flame of oroladin
The essence of the word
The state of independence
[interlude]
Sounds like a signal from you
Bring me to meet your sound
And I will bring you to my heart
Love like a signal you call
Touching my body my soul
Bring to me, you to meet me here
Home be the temple of your heart
Home be the body of your love
Just like holy water to my lips
(hey, hey)
Yes I do know how I survive
(yes I do know) know why Im alive
To love and be with you
Day by day by day by day
(hey, hey)
Say-aye yaya oh
(yayah yaya oh)
be the sound of higher love today
(yayah)
(hey, hey)
Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all-in his wisdom-hear
His truth will abound the land
This truth will abound the land
This state of independence shall be
This state of independence shall be
Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all-in his wisdom-hear

Freedom Lies

Freedom, theres more to your life so now[? ]
Old laws, man has made only blind.
Oh, give us freedom, a call to the brave and the strong,
To stand in the face of all wrong and show the way.
Freedom lies, freedom lies, freedom lies.
Freedom to live out the dream in a song,
Give hope to the hearts of the young.
Oh, give us freedom to act out of love and not fear,
So all that is true will be clear.
Hear tomorrow, calling hold me, show me.
Freedom lies, freedom lies, freedom lies.
Freedom lies, freedom lies, freedom lies.

Horace: Book 1, Ode 22

The man, my friend, whose conscious heart
With virtue's sacred ardour glows,
Nor taints with death the envenom'd dart,
Nor needs the guard of Moorish bows:

Though Scythia's icy cliffs he treads,
Or horrid Afric's faithless sands;
Or where the fam'd Hydaspes spreads
His liquid wealth o'er barbarous lands.

For while by Chloe's image charm'd,
Too far in Sabine woods I stray'd;
Me singing, careless and unarm'd,
A grisly wolf surprised, and fled.

No savage more portentous stain'd
Apulia's spacious wilds with gore;
None fiercer Juba's thirsty land,
Dire nurse of raging lions, bore.

Place me where no soft summer gale
Among the quivering branches sighs;
Where clouds condensed for ever veil
With horrid gloom the frowning skies;

Place me beneath the burning line,
A clime denied to human race;
I'll sing of Cloe's charms divine,
Her heavenly voice, and beauteous face.
