For Warren And Igor...
firebird rites
dog eared bites
on the seventh sunday
when the walls come down
I'll be there
singing with you
like
a left-handed clown
in resplendent
isolation
on impermanent vacation
and I'll bring sandwiches....

The Spirit Of St. Louis IV
In my consortium,
In my realm,
Born on Friday the 13th;
But i broke my right hand in primary three,
And today i am a left handed.
Thanks to my teacher who taught me to switch to the other hand,
And like the freat men and women in the land of plenty!
For my gifted talent had made me who i am today,
And like great men and women who were left handed.
A typical example if 'Albert Einstein' who brought about the Energy Theory,
And the world had come along with it!
Because, E=mc².
Bill Gate of the Microsoft fame is a left-handed,
President Obama of the U.S.A. is a left-handed,
Like the Day of the Left-Handed celebrated on the 13th of August;
So the dedication of this poem is for the left-handed.

I'm April the seventh
it's April the seventh
and I'm April the seventh
with drops of rain beating my heart away
with drops of wine dried in my mouth
and tango I've just danced
it's April the seventh
and I'm April the seventh
sitting in the dark room
after a head over heal night
and the tango I've just danced
it's April the seventh
I'm April the seventh
Lazarus's Saturday and children's bells
all tinkling across my street
all tinkling across my heart
it's April the seventh
and I'm April the seventh
with a scarf around my neck
and high heels on my feet
and the tango I've just danced
it's April the seventh
and I'm April the seventh
with a book I'm about to read
a cigarette I am about to smoke
and the tango I've just danced
it's April the seventh
I'm April the seventh
Lazarus's Saturday and children's bells
all tinkling across my street
all tinkling across my heart
it's April the seventh
and I'm April the seventh
with a kiss left on my left hand
feet shuffling all along the floor
and the tango I've just danced
all tinkling across my heart

Isolation
In fear every day, every evening,
He calls her aloud from above,
Carefully watched for a reason,
Painstaking devotion and love,
Surrendered to self preservation,
From others who care for themselves.
A blindness that touches perfection,
But hurts just like anything else.
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
Mother I tried please believe me,
I'm doing the best that I can.
I'm ashamed of the things I've been put through,
I'm ashamed of the person I am.
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
But if you could just see the beauty,
These things I could never describe,
These pleasures a wayward distraction,
This is my one lucky prize
Isolation, isolation, Isolation, isolation, isolation.

No Vacation From The Blues
(Gary Rossington, Travis Tritt)
I took some time down by the ocean
Just to try and shake the notion
That my world could not continue without you
So I took a long vacation
Traveled all around the nation
Trying hard to rearrange my point of view
I went from Birmingham all the way to Boulder
And when I looked over my shoulder
All I could see was your sweet face shining though
And no matter how hard I try
To fight off the urge to cry
It seems there ain't no vacation from the blues
And I can run but I can't hide
From the pain I feel inside
And there's no one but myself left to accuse
So with all these bridges burned
There's no pages left to turn
And there ain't no vacation from the blues
Baby, don't misunderstand me
I'm not playing any games
I'm trying to find a rainbow
But I can't find it for the rain
So with all these bridges burned
There's no pages left to turn
And there ain't no vacation
Said there ain't no vacation
Said there ain't no vacation
From the blues

Permanent Vacation
(berry/buck/mills/stipe)
Gotta get away, gotta get away
Gotta get away, gotta get
(chorus)
Im on a permanent vacation
Nothing left to move
I want a revelation
Nothing left to prove
I could take it with me
Leave you all behind
Got some kind of feeling
Burnin on my mind
Sleeping late in the morning
Stay out all night long
Every day is like the one before
Im going wrong
Im going wrong
(repeat chorus)
Theres only one thing you can do
This I gotta do, oh, oh, oh
I got nothing to win, nothing to lose
Nothing left to prove
One thing to do
Well, Im on a permanent vacation
Im on a permanent vacation
Im on a permanent vacation
Permanent vacation

Let's Make Sandwiches
Lately, I've been hungry,
Starving to have my fill,
So let's make sandwiches.
All upset and angry,
Empty stomachs seem ill,
So let's make sandwiches.
If our tastes would agree,
I'd be ready to grill,
So let's make sandwiches.
We could enjoy our food,
The flavors we've pursued,
So let's make sandwiches.

The One Escape
Seven feet high.
Five feet across.
Infinite room to die.
The walls will keep you safe from the others
The almighty warden claims.
But am I afraid of the others?
Prisoners may be able to contort me, but
Prisoners can’t fill my soul with pains.
Prisoners can’t crush my heart with chains.
Why are prisoners so silent when the lights fade, you ask?
Isolation
Isolation that prickles your neck at night
Isolation that makes the darkness bite.
Screaming bounces off of the impenetrable walls of isolation,
And it hits you.
Echoes haunt your head
And the memories of not wanting to feel dead,
Disappear.
The bars
And the walls
And the dark
Erode your life.
How can you escape?
There is only
One
Way
Out
And it satisfies the walls
The grim reaper holds the ticket
His ticket leads out of the bars
And into the bright
Into the light
Pit of eternity.
The stone walls seem dreadfully close tonight
And this rope around my neck feels tight
This cold loneliness, my heart is full of it.
And I think I see the reaper with my ticket…
Sunday Morning
Maurice white, sheldon reynolds & allee willis
Intro chorus:
Ooh, sunday morning
You;re gonna find my love shining on you
Oh, Im waiting
And my heart is anticipating
Your face
On my pillow
Feel sunshine pouring through the window
Like the grapes on the vine
Love gets sweeter with time
You were made to love
Chorus:
Ooh, sunday morning (Ill see you sunday morning)
Ooh, sunday morning
Its like the best of everything falling on you
Your eyes
Shining on me
Youre the brightest star, that ever could be
Your kiss
Oh, Im so thankful
The love that we share, Im sincerely grateful
The wind blowin in the tree
Singing love songs to me
Singing you were made to love
Chorus:
Ooh, sunday morning (Ill see you sunday morning)
Youre gonna find my love shining on you
Ooh, sunday morning
Its like the best of everything falling on you
Ooh, sunday morning (Ill see you sunday morning)
When we shared sweet love like no other
Ooh, sunday morning
Like a summer day with your lover
Ooh sunday morning (Ill see you sunday morning)
When we shared sweet love like no other

Sunday Morning
Sunday morning silence, curtain stay closed late
No one thinks of kitchens mornings in a filthy state
Dishes cups and beer stains, ashtrays on the floor
Sunday morning papers are left outside the front door
Sunday school and sunday roast
Sunday papers sunday post
Sunday morning sunday rest
Sunday sermon sunday best
(sunday, bloody sunday rest)
Glass of fizzy water helps to start the day
Sit and listen to sunday silence, problems fade away
Sunday cars and drivers break the morning air
Uncollected milk outside reveals theres no one there
Sunday school and sunday roast
Sunday papers sunday post
Sunday morning sunday rest
Sunday sermon sunday best
Sunday school and sunday roast
Sunday papers sunday post
Sunday morning sunday rest
Sunday sermon sunday best
Bathrobes hang in waiting, windows steaming up
Somewhere in the sink downstairs lies an unwashed cup
Tea and toast for breakfast clear away the plates
Wash-up prepare for cooking sunday lunch awaits
Sunday lunch awaits
Sunday lunch awaits

Sandwiches: Tomato And Egg
sandwiches: tomato and egg
and the flask of tea;
ice-cream and a bottle of fizzy orange.
vague consciousness
of women dressing
or undressing
inside the flimsy protection
of giant sized towels
the pursuit of the tide going out;
finding oneself detached in isolation,
left behind pools of shells, crabs, starfishes
and child-like absorption.

Sunday Papers
Mother doesnt go out any more
Just sits at home and rolls her spastic eyes
But every weekend through the door
Come words of wisdom from the world outside
If you want to know about the bishop and the actress
If you want to know how to be a star
If you want to know about the stains on the mattress
You can read it in the sunday papers, sunday papers
Mothers wheelchair stays out in the hall
Why should she go out when the tvs on
Whatever moves beyond these walls
Shell know the facts when sunday comes along
If you want to know about the man gone bonkers
If you want to know how to play guitar
If you want to know about the other suckers
You can read it in the sunday papers, read it in the sunday papers
Sunday papers dont ask no questions
Sunday papers dont get no lies
Sunday papers dont raise objection
Sunday papers dont got no eyes
Brothers heading that way now I guess
He just read something made his face turn blue
Well I got nothing against the press
They wouldnt print it if it wasnt true
If you want to know about the gay politician
If you want to know how to drive your car
If you want to know about the new sex position
You can read it in the sunday papers, read it in the sunday papers
Sunday papers dont ask no questions
Sunday papers dont get no lies
Sunday papers dont raise objection
Sunday papers dont got no eyes
Sunday papers dont ask no questions
Sunday papers dont get no lies
Sunday papers dont raise objection
Sunday papers dont got no eyes
Read all about it, sunday papers

What If I Have Only One Arm?
if i have only one arm left
i still take the pleasure of using to the utmost
the remaining arm
i will take my coffee one at a time
open a jar with sugar
take a spoonful
and take the cup
and pour hot water there
i prefer the right arm
rather than the left
if one arm be lost.
just that, i am right handed
and you are left handed
we still complement each other and that
is the most important thing that
can happen to me.

I Want A Vacation
I want a vacation
For saying a word or two to you
See the moon just when
It lands in your eyes.
I want a vacation
To hold your hands for a while
And walk a few steps to anywhere,
To feel you even if for a moment.
I want a vacation
Just to do anything
To let you know I still care
And see a smile cross your face.
I need a vacation
For coming out from within
To be with you just once
And hold onto it forever!

The Whistler
Ill buy you six bay mares to put in your stable ---
Six golden apples bought with my pay.
I am the first piper who calls the sweet tune,
But I must be gone by the seventh day.
So come on, Im the whistler.
I have a fife and a drum to play.
Get ready for the whistler.
I whistle along on the seventh day ---
Whistle along on the seventh day.
All kinds of sadness Ive left behind me.
Manys the day when I have done wrong.
But Ill be yours for ever and ever.
Climb in the saddle and whistle along.
So come on, Im the whistler.
I have a fife and a drum to play.
Get ready for the whistler.
I whistle along on the seventh day ---
Whistle along on the seventh day.
Deep red are the sun-sets in mystical places.
Black are the nights on summer-day sands.
Well find the speck of truth in each riddle.
Hold the first grain of love in our hands.

Sunday Morning
Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would bring me back to you
That someday it would bring me back to you
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on sunday morning
And I never want to leave
Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on sunday morning
And I never want to leave
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning rain is falling and Im calling out to you
Singing someday itll bring me back to you
Find a way to bring myself home to you
And you may not know
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow?

I didn't know Albert back then - I just learned to play that way. He and I were the only guys that played left-handed. Then left-handed people came from every direction.
Won't Back Down
I know what darkness means
(and the void you left for me)
the isolation stings
(so thick it wants to bleed)
the echoes in my brain
(all the things you said to me)
you took my everything
Now I'm coming for you
I won't back down
I will not bow
I've come to bring you hell
And I can't forget
things you did
I've come to bring you hell
The shadow that you see
(in the places that you sleep)
are memories of me
(you better pray your soul to keep)
the truth behind you eyes
(you know the things you never see)
your darkest little lies
(I'm coming for you)
I won't back down
I will not bow
I've come to bring you hell
And I can't forget things you did
I've come to bring you hell
All the scars that never heal
All the wounds that will not seal
I will not forget the days
Theses memories never fall
I won't back down
I will not bow
And I can't forget
things you did
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell
I've come to bring you hell

Seventh Heaven
Ive been to places where the sun goes down
Each day and never rises
Ive been to places in a dark room
Where we played with our disguises
Heaven, Im in heaven
Im in seventh heaven now
Seventh heaven
It was a dream, I heard a voice
I put it down to wishful thinking
It was a dream, a silent scream
Out of the blue, a new beginning
Heaven, Im in heaven
Im in seventh heaven now
Seventh heaven
And then I fell upon a stroke of luck
That led to my good fortune
And then I fell upon my knees
And gently kissed the ground you walk on
Heaven, Im in heaven
Im in seventh heaven now
Seventh heaven

All Tomorrow's Parties
And what costume shall the poor girl wear
To all tomorrow's parties
A hand-me-down dress from who knows where
To all tomorrow's parties
And where will she go and what shall she do
When midnight comes around
She'll turn once more to Sunday's clown
And cry behind the door
And what costume shall the poor girl wear
To all tomorrow's parties
Why silks and linens of yesterday's gowns
To all tomorrow's parties
And what will she do with Thursday's rags
When Monday comes around
She'll turn once more to Sunday's clown
And cry behind the door
And what costume shall the poor girl wear
To all tomorrow's parties
For Thursday's child is Sunday's clown
For whom none will go mourning
A blackened shroud, a hand-me-down gown
Of rags and silks, a costume
Fit for one who sits and cries
For all tomorrow's parties

Its Ok
Its ok
Love is only meant for some
Im the rock
The shoulder you can cry on
I keep the walls from falling down
I keep the walls from falling down
I keep the walls from falling down
Ill play it straight
While you laugh and drink and party all night long
Ill designate myself
To be the driver who takes you home
I keep the walls from falling down
I keep the walls from falling down
You can be pretty and tragic
Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
You can be beautiful and fabulous
Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
I cant reach the pain you feel
But Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
If you can hold on
Lose your fear
Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
Falling down
Falling down
Where is your saint
To let you know youre not alone
To bring you peace
Help me be your friend your confidante
And keep the walls from falling down
Keep the walls from falling down
Keep the walls from falling down
