Chocolate in the Rain
Dark clouds
loom in the sky;
now the sound of thunder -
breaks the stillness of the evening air.
A flash of lightning
lights up the dark sky.
A light drizzle at first -
and then a heavy downpour.
My heart revels…
at the beautiful sight
of the white rain
outside my window.
And my mouth waters as I see...
a large slab of dark chocolate on the table.
Is this not a little unfair
that it should be just sitting there?
So I decide to nibble on it…
and marvel at its bitterness.
As I watch the falling rain, I tell myself
I shall eat as long as it continues to rain.
But it rains for a couple of hours
and the chocolate is no longer there.
I now wonder -
why I ate it all without a care!

Just For Fun
Cartoons
Just for fun
Just sitting around doing nothing
Having no worries, no responsibilities
No school
Just cartoons
And sugar cereal
Just cartoons
And more sugar cereal with extra sugar on it
Just cartoons

It is fun to be a kid when you can be a kid
And when no one is watching, you put even four sugars on your sugar cereal
Or you just scoop up a few spoons of sugar into your mouth and love the way it melts in your mouth, just for fun
And when no one is watching you jump on the couch and the bed and you run through the house and you knock things over and you don’t pick them up because you are kid and you are just having fun
And you laugh and you giggle and you dance funny dances
You watch more cartoons
Eat more sugar cereal and dig through the box for the toy
And take more spoons of sugar

Cheesy Moon (Ghazal)
Look up and gaze at craters on the cheesy moon.
A cow, a spoon jumping over the cheesy moon.
Opening the refrigerator, what cheese now?
How about more of tasty, crusty, cheesy moon?
Dare I taste the zesty tang of pepper-jack cheese,
Mix and dance with the tango of a cheesy moon?
My office cloudy, loveless, lifeless gray
Could use some life-giving zest of a cheesy moon.
Brie and Camenbert, Ben loves soft and crusty cheese,
Swiss and Gruyère with wide eyes opened, cheesy moon.

Let Children Rule The World
I'm getting fed up with the world
to much violence, misery, and hate,
so let children take over for a bit
because the Earth's in a right state.
No more boring political meetings
instead it'll be games, fun, and play,
let the children have all the power
they'd stop all wars in one whole day.
Amusement parks will all be free
as will sweets, ice-cream, and jelly,
parents will be ordered to just chill out
and watch cartoons on the telly.
Kids are not interested in conflicts
that's down to the adult human race
so any arguments between grown ups
will be settled with a custard pie to the face.
Climbing trees will now be compulsory
and alcohol will be replaced by Orange pop
cigarettes will be made of chocolate
and drug addicts will be given a lollipop.
So let the children rule the world
they'd want us all to have a really good time
it would be one long crazy party
instead of worrying about debt and crime!
