we heard those blood
curdling yells as
if in a nightmare

We jumped up
to hide under the bed

were snoring
in dreamland a stray
Bullet hit the wall
you can see the hole
Right there next to
where you're resting
Last night when you
were guarded safely
By God and the angels
we heard the gun shots
Last night when you
were chatting to
The fairies who come
to fetch you to fairyland
We went outside
to see for ourselves
Last night when you
refused to wake up and
You threatened to cut
our bus fares
The police came to
arrest your friend
You know the man of
the house next door
Last night when you
were angry with us
The people from
the mortuary came
To fetch the corpse
of the dead woman
next door
We cry
We will never
see her again
She who
was so full of
life and happiness
You wake up to whimper and
wail and weep about
what's happening
Behind the false smiles
And the closed doors
in this neighborhood
It's not easy to trust
The menfolk
we love so much

Night after night you wander the streets of my mind.
Night after night don't know what you think you will find.
No place to go, nowhere to turn,
Everything around you seems to burn, burn, burn.
And there's never any mercy night after night.

Night after night another old man kissing some young girl.
You look for salvation, you find none.
Just another broken heart, another barrel of a gun,

Last night I heard the screaming
Loud voices behind the wall
Another sleepless night for me
It won't do no good to call
The police

Late Night Mom

Late night mom
You know what to do
Doesn’t matter now
The monsters won’t say boo
You’re up so late
The moon’s asleep too

Late night mom
The kids worry
All night long
They wake up
And you’re passed out on the lawn
Late night mom
Knows just what to do

Your kid’s staying up late
To see what you’ll do
Thinking to herself
Why isn’t mommy in bed?
Late night mom is
Sleeping with the meds

Too close for comfort
A fire by the house
Smoking your cigarette
Thinking without a doubt
Late night mom
Is chilling in the house

Sleeping on the couch
Instead of in her bed
A cushion instead
Of a warm husband’s embrace

Passed out on the floor
Don’t wake the kids
You’re just asking for more

Around two or four
Dad will come out
And pick you up
While you pout
He’ll carry you over
To the room overhead
And help you climb

‘Twas deep; so deep of night,
When I saw what I had seen -
So truly deep of night,
When I went where I had been,
And really deep of night,
When I heard what I had heard:
Perhaps a fox or badger,
Or a sort of night-time bird.

‘Twas late that night of nights,
When something there was there -
So very late that night of nights,
Where that thing was where -
'Twas deep of night of nights,
When it ran to where it ran:
Perhaps a stoat or Billy goat,
Or ghostly little man.

‘Twas in the night of night of nights,
When something scary caused a scare -
So late of night of night of nights,
When something hairy raised my hair -
The deep of night of night of nights…
So don't you wonder what it was?
Well I never really truly saw it -
Why? Because because!

Night dark but your lies were darker

Night cruel but your love more crueler

Night all alone yet better than your absent minded with me

Night was the time i gave my whole to you

Night was the time you slapped my face

Night was the day you pushed me to the door.

Night was the time you abused me

Night was the time you slit my tongue

Night was the time the moon refuses to smile at us

A sparkle was in his eye

Night is lively.
Night is stunning
Night is pleasurable.
Night is sugary like apple pie.
Night is walking towards with hobo.
Night will never end.
Night is dark.
Night is now simple, sweet, calm, amusing.
I am in love with this city night.
City is covered with this pleasant night.
Night is having the shine of city.
Night is getting wilder.
Night is getting cruel.
Time will never stop running.
Night will over with the time.
Another night will come in this city.
I am waiting for the night.
Here city shed tears
Here city chuckle like a little kid.
Here city dance with the mysterious wind.

Friend, Wake Up! Why Do You Go On Sleeping?

Friend, wake up! Why do you go on sleeping?
The night is over— do you want to lose the day
the same way?
Other women who managed to get up early have
already found an elephant or a jewel...
so much was lost already while you slept...
and that was so unnecessary!

The one who loves you understood, but you did not.
You forgot to make a place in your bed next to you.
Instead you spent your life playing.
In your twenties you did not grow
because you did not know who your Lord was.
Wake up! Wake up! There's no one in your bed—
He left you during the long night.

The real owners of that house
Wherever they are they're still running
There's a man in that house now
By day he sleeps soundly you'll
Swear he's the harmless unarmed angel
The young girls in the neighborhood
Are pretty they like to experiment...
At dusk he sharpens his butterfly knives
Towards evening the wild partying starts
I'll let you know how it all operates
At night falls the interlude of the creepy

Blood curdling yells oh no no
In the morning he arranges the flowers with
The broad friendly smile on his priestly face
You would be swayed into confessing that he
Is kind hearted uncle Joe next door

Your own daughter was reported missing
In action after the binge drinking some time ago
Who will go with you to check on what's been
Happening in that creepy eerie house?

why must she never see the jealousy come down on such timid eyes at night
why must everytime i fall asleep only to dream of you
why must every night i wake at night in tears just thinking of you
why must every night i relive your departure when i say i moved on
why must i know this now when all along you've been in my heart
