Dust Settles
My ending
with time; it ran out
no further than it began
to give birth
though the dust
settle on the earth
I found a life
led with raft
many a woe
had to settle
the drifting grains
that mark a harvest
now in store
I plot to live
outside they mark on
the grave a sign
for rendering lifeless
is not a choice
I have best to make
of a situation and escape
my character flaws
from the origin
I had since birth

Settle Down My Boy
Settle down, an eat your peas and gravy, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Stop wasting all your time with running around the town
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Knuckle down and find a job and take some responsibility
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
The futures something you should be thinking about
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Look around for a wife to start a family, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Listen toy our father and hell tell you the same as me
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Your words would go in one ear and out the other side
Dont say my head was empty and I had things to hide
And you better put something away for your old age
So settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down uh huh huh

Significance of birth
Time has no divisions.
We make them in it.
Space has no division.
We make them in it.
A circle has no beginning.
We mark it in it.
Do time of birth, sign of birth
And date of birth have significance?

Ill Settle For You
(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
Every star has a twinkle
Every palm has a wrinkle
Every leaf comes from a tree
I would agree
So if everything is made up of two
And the sky really needs the blue
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Every future has a past
Every first has a last
Every night has a day
Come what may
So if everything is made up of two
Whether it be old or new
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Who wants to be like a sea without a shore
The love just drifting forever more
Every smile has a frown
All you gotta do is turn it upside down
Every house has a door
Of that Im sure
So if everything is made up of two
I think it would be best if you know
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Dont you know, Ill settle for you
Ill settle for you
If I had to settle, baby
Ill settle for you
Dont you know, Ill settle for you

Settle Down
Album: Eternal (2001)
[Chorus]
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down with me, babe
Settle down
Would you like a house on the hill
Overlooking the ocean side
Tell me, would you like that baby
Or how about a high-rise apartment
In Manhattan on the east side
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me, baby
[Chorus]
We could take a jet plane all the way to Spain
Just to buy you a wedding ring
Tell me, would you like that baby
Oh, talk to me girl
We could get married on Christmas day
On the shores of Montego Bay
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me
If you're ready
Only if you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Tell me if you're ready, ready yeah
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down, settle down
Settle down
I'm not trying to buy your love
Money ain't in it
You can't put a rpice on love
Tell me if I'm worthy of
Worthy of you're hand
Girl let's start making plans
You're shining like a star above
You're the light of my life
Oh girl, be my wife
Settle down baby
Oh but first
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
I wanna know if you're ready, tell me baby
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down babe
Settle down
Ooh
oh, whoa
Oooh
No no no no no no no
Yeah yes
Oh settle down babe
Settle down
You tell me when you're ready
(I'm ready, I'm ready)
Do you think you're ready
(I, yes I am baby)
Please tell me
(You already know)
When you're ready
(Yes I'm ready)
Then We can settle down
(Settle down babe)
Settle down
(I'm ready)
I wanna know if you're ready
Oh wee, oh it feels like you're ready babe
I can tell if you're ready
We need to settle down babe

Under The Gun
Lookin for a thrill, youll get it my way
Lets hit the highway, Ill take you down
Shoot out in the night, lookin for action
The main attraction is back in town
Press the pedal to the metal, on your mark, set, go
Chorus:
Under the gun - do your living on the trigger
Under the gun - walk on the wire
Under the gun - when the stakes are gettin bigger
Under the gun - take aim and fire
I dont need a reason to get crazy, Im gettin crazy and thats enough
Show me somethin strange, Ill make it stranger
I swear that danger runs in my blood
Press the pedal to the metal, on your mark, set, go
When the dust begins to settle, everybodys gonna know
Chorus - (fire, fire) fire (fire)
Well theres no speed limit where Im comin from
Lets hit the highway doin 69!!
Press the pedal to the metal, on your mark, set, go
When the dust begins to settle, everybodys gonna know
Chorus
Under the gun, under the gun, under the gun, under the gun
Cmon boys (fire) I cant hear you - (fire) fire!

Gravel On The Ground
(HuppMorrison)
If our lives could lie before us like a straight and narrow highway
so that we could see forever, long before we took the ride,
we would never look to heaven, make a wish or climb a mountain,
'cause we'd always know the answer what's on the other side.
But life ain't no easy freeway, just some gravel on the ground.
You pay for every mile you go to spread some dust around.
But we all have destinations, and the dust will settle down,
this life ain't no easy freeway, just some gravel on the ground.
So let's walk the road together, who knows what we'll find tomorrow.
Maybe good times, maybe sorrow will be waiting round the bend
Given time, two hearts discover what they're feeling for each other.
At the best we'll end up lovers, at the least we'll make a friend.
But life ain't no easy freeway, just some gravel on the ground.
You pay for every mile you go to spread some dust around.
But we all have destinations, and the dust will settle down,
But life ain't no easy freeway, just some gravel on the ground.
You pay for every mile you go to spread some dust around.
But we all have destinations, and the dust will settle down,
this life ain't no easy freeway, just some gravel on the ground.

Settling Down
If you my friend are tired of the single life,
And you want to settle down with a wife,
A piece of advice to you that I must give,
Think before you marry, and live.
Eat the foods that you want to eat
The cheeses the breads the sweets and the meat
Then drink the liquors and beers that you want to drink
And make sure to all the women, you give them a wink.
Go to bed any hour of your day
Wake up when you want, or sleep longer in the hay
Spend your money the way that you want it spent
Buy everything you want, and spend your very last cent.
Wear the clothes that you want to wear
Grow your beard or mustache, as it is your hair
Go hunting or fishing or just go out with a friend
Laugh and joke loudly as those days are coming to an end
So please take a heed to this sound advice
Don't think once about it, think about it twice
As I too was once a single man
Then I got married, and my new life had just began
Now if you still feel like you need to settle down
You now must be organized with your feet firmly on the ground
Your adventures and excitement are now out of your life
Now it is time for you my friend; settle down to a wife.

As Life is Mirage - Acrostic Sonnet
As dusk to dawn succeeds, so death to birth,
Swift arcs the arrow, with the ark of man,
Lost on Time’s sea, while his allotted span
Is soon forgotten, dry-docked, - narrow berth.
For dust to dust returns, earth turns to earth;
Each sickled moon a sickly herald, wan,
Is witness to impermanence. The plan
Spins to Fate’s farce fast ending. Light and mirth
Must fade or jade before they prove their worth.
In earnest, blazing brightly, nothing can
Remain eternal, beacon Hope can’t scan,
And flame as ‘fixèd mark’ – and so its dearth,
Ghost mirage, mocks love’s life and locks life’s love -
End is in sight, flight spent, expressed above.

Womb to womb to tomb
I am born unto this womb
To be born again unto another womb
Before I take birth once again unto another womb
Then as mark of respect
A tomb shall man place on that womb
To remind the world
That this day a man
Was, born unto this womb.
Before another birth I seek
To live another life in another womb
In the seas of life I shall swim
Before I am once again ready
To take birth unto this womb
To be born again unto another womb
Before, I take birth once again to be entombed.

The shock of any trauma, I think changes your life. It's more acute in the beginning and after a little time you settle back to what you were. However it leaves an indelible mark on your psyche.

Style.
It is only the constancy of
Emotions. Highs and Downs, These things you must
accept with gladness
Like the birth of a Smile.
Hug a reality. Dance with an Illusion.
Settle on a Doubt.
Believe on the Impossible.
Have faith on Yourself and Always take
the Big Bite of the Dust.
Life Moves On. You dance as though it is your last.
You say I am Alone but I am Lovely.
Let the Spirit Soar. Let the color of the Day be Red.
Make Love Not War. Gosh. Gush. Hush. Slush
and Slash.
Give way to the River. Have vents. Bend
and Sway and Point your Feet
To Somewhere. Over there.
Love, Yes Love Above ALL.

You're An Ocean
Written by tony scalzo
Verse
Can you make it easier for me to understand,
How you're holding my heart, in your trembling hands...
Eyes that rise to meet me half way up among the stars,
You may be from venus but i'm definitely not from mars
Chorus
You're an ocean, you're an ocean
Settle down, settle down,
What's the commotion,
I'm an island, but you're an ocean,
It's a stormy sea of love and emotion,
You've got me suspended motionless in time
Verse
Make the warm winds circle round my head just like you do,
If i could do it, i'd be doing it to you,
I believe i'd buy whatever you would sell to me,
Nothing in my life ever came with a guarantee,
Chorus
You're an ocean, you're an ocean
Settle down, settle down,
What's the commotion,
I'm an island, but you're an ocean,
It's a stormy sea of love and emotion,
You've got me suspended motionless in time
Break
I believe i'd buy whatever you would sell to me,
Nothing in my life ever came with a guarantee,
You're an ocean, you're an ocean
Settle down, settle down,
What's the commotion,
I'm an island, but you're an ocean,
It's a stormy sea of love and emotion,
You've got me suspended motionless in time

Keep Shining
Heaven and earth will not change places
Birth and death will not change time
But time will leave its mark on faces
And the stars will bravely shine.
Life and dreams will not be hollow
The thing that's lost, yet we will find
We will not stray if we but follow
Close to the stars that bravely shine.
A man will learn to search inside him
For what, at birth, was left behind
All his days, his own heart to guide him-
Within, without, the brave stars shine.

Sonnet: Heaven’s Our Goal
Oh, never mind if you’re just a cipher,
In things of earthly mould and clay domain;
Your origin’s from clay- well decipher!
Your soul off sin, you always must regain.
And like a Phoenix, you must rise from dust,
Tho’ dead by sin, a mountain-load in weight;
For, victory with the devil is a must,
And love of God will arrange for souls freight.
How can one live in luxury on earth,
And be a saint all life at the same time?
How can one attain Heaven without birth,
Or do misdeeds, yet make one’s life sublime?
What if you gain the world but lose your soul?
For Salvation to each one is prime goal.

Sonnet: Earth’s Only Sun
The central star of Milky Way- the Sun:
God made the sun for mankind’s sake on earth;
Around the sun, the earth is on her run;
Each dawn, the rising sun brings newer mirth!
Without the sun, the earth will turn all dark;
If not for it, the world can’t support life;
Sunlight sustains all life-forms up to mark;
Dense forests, seas, abyss escape its knife!
The ball of fire burns incessantly;
The core is hotter than one can think of;
Atomic fusion supplies energy;
Alas! A cloud can block the sun’s great laugh!
Without the sun, can life go on, on earth?
For sake of man, God gave one sun(Son) , its(His) birth!

Bliss
Everything about you is how I wanna be
Your freedom comes naturally
Everything about you resonates happiness
Now I won't settle for less
Give me all the peace and joy in your mind
Everything about you pains my envying
Your soul can't hate anything
Everything about you is so easy to love
They're watching you from above
Give me all the peace and joy in your mind
I want the peace and joy in your mind
Give me the peace and joy in your mind
Everything about you resonates happiness
Now I won't settle for less

The Way Things Are
I wouldnt know what to do with another chance
If you gave it to me
I couldnt take the embrace of a real romance
Itd race right through me
Im much better off the way things are
Much much better off, better by far, by far
I wouldnt know what to say to a gentle voice
Itd roll right past me
And if you chalk it up youll see I dont really have a choice
So dont even ask me
Im much better off, the way things are
Much much better off, better by far
So keep on calling me names, keep on, keep on
And Ill keep kicking the crap till its gone
If you keep on killing, you could get me to settle
And as soon as I settle, I bet Ill be
Able to move on
How can I fight, when were on the same side
How can I fight beside you
So keep on calling me names, keep on, keep on
And Ill keep kicking the crap till its gone
If you keep on killing, you could get me to settle
And as soon as I settle, I bet Ill be
Able to move on
So keep on calling me names, keep on, keep on
And Ill keep kicking the crap till its gone
If you keep on killing, you could get me to settle
And as soon as I settle, I bet Ill be
Able to move on

In Times Ahead
There’s a day ahead for all of us, but not all say “In God we Trust”,
Many today simply forge ahead, relying fully on one’s self instead.
But as believers, we’ve received, a new path in life as we believed,
Paved to Glory in the Spirit of Christ, taking us all into Eternal Life.
While others truly may not know, where in life their pathway will go,
Not knowing that any day or hour, all may falter, in their own power.
Whereas believers not only know, at their end of life where they go,
They have God’s presence through, everything that they seek to do.
Unbelievers may survive down here; however a time is drawing near,
When they will take that last breath, passing from this life into death.
We survive and much much more, knowing we have Heaven in store,
Guided on earth by God’s Grace, as members of His Heavenly race.
If unbelievers in life reach a bend, they cannot face or comprehend,
They’re forced to choose on their own, making that choice all alone.
On a path of winds and bends, God gives strength to all He sends,
Along the pilgrim journey down here, knowing that He’s always near.
Joy is given to those on earth, who come to God through New Birth,
So why would one just merely live, when God has New Life to give?
A life knowing you will never die, but, be transported above the sky,
To live eternally with everyone, who receives salvation in God’s Son.

Killer Without A Cause
He made a big impression
When he walked across the room
And I must make my confession
I might have spoked too soon
Hes a killer
Without a cause
The time is right
To settle scores
On the streets he lives again
Down the alley and round the bend
On the beat beneath the light
An angel comes to claim the light
From the streets
This rebel shall rise
His soul shall soar
Through the skies
The same old confrontation
At the bar in the saloon
But its just another tricky situation
The underworld operation lies in ruins
Hes a killer
Without a cause
The time is right
To settle scores

Dreamers
Oh if we knew
what life would bring
would we settle for that?
And not take wing
and fly to an adventure
that's far from here?
Something unknown to every man
would be my choice,
would be my plan.
Never included would there be pain
for there's enough of that
where we remain.
To fly to the imaginings
where man lives free,
to the place of dreamers
such as we.
But we do not know
what life will bring.
So we settle for
this incalculable thing.
And our imaginings
all disappear.
