Death of an Innocent
I went to a party mom, I remembered what you said, you told me
Not to drink mom, so I drank soda instead.
I felt really proud inside mom, the way you said I would.
I didn’t drink and drive mom even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing mom, I know you’re always right, now
The party is finally ending mom and everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car mom, I know I’d get home in one piece because
Of the way you raised me mom, so responsible and sweet.
I started to drive away, but as I pulled onto the road and the other
Driver didn’t see me and hit me like a load, as I lay here on the
Pavement mom, I heard the policeman say the other guy is drunk
And I’m the one who’ll pay.
I’m lying here dying mom I wish you’d get here soon, how come this
Happened to me mom my life burst like a balloon, there is blood all
Around me mom, most of it’s mine, I hear the paramedics say I’ll die
In a very short time.
I just wanted to tell you mom I swear I didn’t drink, it was the others mom,
The others didn’t think, he didn’t know where he was going mom, he was
Probably at the same party as I, the difference is mom he drank and I will die.
Why do people drink mom? It can ruin your whole life, I’m feeling sharp pains
Now mom, pains just like a knife. The guy who hit me is walking mom, I don’t
Think that is fair, I’m laying here dying mom while all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry mom, tell daddy to be brave and when I go to heaven
Put Daddy’s girl on my grave. Someone should have told him mom not to drink
And drive, if only they would have only taken the time mom I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter mom, I’m becoming very scared please don’t cry for
Me mom because when I needed you, you were always there. I have one last
Question mom before I say goodbye, I didn’t even drink mom, so why am I the
One to die.
This is the end mom I wish I could look you in the eye to say these final words
I love you and goodbye.

Sad Day
I went to a party, And remembered what you said. You told me not to drink, Mom, so I had a sprite instead. I felt proud of myself, The way you said I would, that I didn't drink and drive, though some friends said I should. I made a healthy choice, And your advice to me was right. The party finally ended, and the kids drove out of sight. I got into my car, Sure to get home in one piece. I never knew what was coming, Mom, something I expected least. Now I'm lying on the pavement, And I hear the policeman say, the kid that caused this wreck was drunk, Mom, his voice seems far away.My own blood's all around me, As I try hard not to cry.I can hear the paramedic say, this girl is going to die.I'm sure the guy had no idea, While he was flying high.Because he chose to drink and drive, now I would have to die.So why do people do it, Mom Knowing that it ruins lives? And now the pain is cutting me, like a hundred stabbing knives.Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom Tell daddy to be brave. And when I go to heaven, put ' Mommy's Girl' on my grave.Someone should have taught him, That it's wrong to drink and drive. Maybe if his parents had, I'd still be alive. My breath is getting shorter, Mom I'm getting really scared These are my final moments, and I'm so unprepared.I wish that you could hold me Mom, As I lie here and die.I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mom! ' So I love you and goodbye

Went To A Party
Never....Ever......Ever....Drink and Drive! ! ! the innocent are always the first to go: '(
I went to a party,

I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mom! '
Say I love you and good-bye.
Drunk Driver
I went to a party,
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom
So I had a sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.
I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mom
Something I expected least.
Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems far away.
My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.
So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.
Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave,
Put Daddy's Girl on my grave.
Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mom! '
Say I love you and good-bye.

~ The Party ~
* A poem i found on the internet it sends shivers down my spine *
I went to a party, mom,
and remembered what you said,
you told me not to drink and drive, mom,
so i had a sprite instead,
I felt proud of myself, mom,
the way you said i would,
that i didn't drink and drive, mom,
though some friends said i should,
I made a healthy choice, mom,
and your advice to me was right,
the party finally ended, mom,
and the kids drove out of sight,
I got into my car, mom,
sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was comming, mom,
something i expected least,
Now i'm laying on the pavement, mom,
and i hear the policeman say,
'the kid that caused this wreck was drunk'
Mom, his voice seems far away,
My own bloods all around me, mom,
as i try hard not to cry,
i can hear the paramedic say, mom,
'this kid is gonna die! '
I'm sure the guy had no idea, mom,
while he was flying high,
because he chose to drink and drive, mom,
now i would have to die,
So why do people do it, mom,
knowing that it ruins lives?
and now the pain is cutting me, mom,
like a hundred stabbing knives,
Tell sister not to be afraid, mom,
tell Daddy to be brave,
and when i go to heaven, mom,
put 'DADDY'S GIRL' on my grave,
Someone should have taught him, mom,
that it's wrong to drink and drive,
maybe if his parents had, mom,
i'd still be alive,
My breath is getting shorter, mom,
i'm getting really scared,
these are my final moments, mom,
and i'm so unprepared!

Death Of An Innocent (Part 2)
'I went to a party mum,
I know what you'd say.
You'd say not to drink mum,
But I drank anyway.
I felt sick inside mum,
As I knew I would.
I didn't catch the bus mum,
As I definitely should.
I pulled into the road mum,
I felt dizzy in my head.
I didn't see her coming mum,
And now she's probably dead.
I saw her bleeding on the road mum,
But I got up okay.
I kept saying ‘I'm sorry' mum,
What else could I say?
I saw her leave this world mum,
And I wished that I were dead.
I was wracked with guilt mum,
I wish it were me instead.
Now I'm off to gaol mum,
Though I think that's only fair.
Manslaughter and drink driving mum,
No crime could compare.
I wanted you to know mum,
That I didn't think.
I'm so sorry mum,
I wish I didn't drink.
I have one last question mum,
Before we say goodbye.
I was the one to drink and drive,
So why did she have to die? '
* I didn't write the original ‘Death of an Innocent'. It is a poem from the girl who dies in this poem's perspective. No one is completely sure of the author, but Eugina Depasse claims she wrote it.
I read the original poem and it got me to thinking that although it is a horrendous thing for an innocent to die, what of the killer? Surely he/she would feel tremendously guilty? You can't always make someone a villan, there are many sides to a person.

Tale Of Woe
Hey Mom;
I took your advice
And I didn’t even drink a drop
But my friends are too drunk to know
So I took responsibility, and I drove that group home,
But Mom, someone didn’t listen to your words of wisdom
And that driver hit the car head on.
Now I’m lying in the street
In an pool of my own blood
Mom I need you; Mom I want you; Mom can you help?
The pain is just so agonizing
Do you think doctors can save me?
Oh Mom, please don’t let me die
I’m too young to never see the light of day again,
I’ve always dreaded my day of death
And now Mom I lay here in my tomb
Just like a baby in the mother’s womb.
I can feel the tears of many, hit the floor.
But Mom that drunken man is still alive,
So how come he is and not I?
He didn’t even bother to shed a single tear;
And Mom I never really got the chance to express it,
I really do regret, but I really do love you.
And now that I’m laid to rest,
Tell everyone to live their best,
Because life’s too short, take that from me
I was hit by a car,
Because a drunk man left the bar,
And even though I didn’t drink a drop,
I’m the one dead, not him.
So now I say goodbye to the ones I love, and the ones I never knew
And my life was just the tale of Juliet, and her beloved Romeo
Because it ends in tragic woe.
