Dakak Adventure

There the conclave sea cove cools and reminiscing
Its ash-white sand is reflecting the water clear
The sea's serenest flow remains cool and sparkling.
Witness its panoramic view; pay a visit you ever wonder
For the guests, it echoes the breath that’s so romancing.
Visit Dakak, see how its ambiance fascinates you forever

Yes, the beach and underwater exposure are so tempting
Never will they be forgotten, they’re recurring real adventure.
The view, golf course, and the landscapes are so captivating.
If you dream of silence for reflection, can have them for sure.
Moving on, mountaineers, an upright cliff stood so imposing.
Well, as in our honeymoon, was told to start from the seashore.

Visit For As Long As You Wish

You may visit upon this land.
But to force debate of its direction...
Is not a matter to be question.
Or demand answers you expect.
Because you believe another way,
For its inhabitants is best.

You may visit for as long as you wish.
Enjoy the ambiance, hospitality...
And the peacefulness.
But suggestions from you,
Regarding the enhancements done...
To the view and our lifestyles too?
For us is not accepted.
Conflicts on this land...
You will not inject.

If you have motives and plans for this...
You will be ushered to experience,
A respected yet definite sudden exit.
We are not in need,
For a financed confusion that infuses deceit.
To have you label it democracy.
You may visit for as long as you wish.
And when your visit is finished...
You will leave and that will be it!

Cool Water

Words and music by bob nolan
Revised lyrics by joni mitchell
All day I face the barren waste
Without a taste of water
Cool water
Old dan and i
Our throats slate dry
Our spirits cry out for water
Cool clear water
Keep on movin dan
Some devils had a plan
Buried poison in the sand
Dont drink it man
Its in the water
Cool clear water
In my mind I see
A big green tree
And a river flowin free
Waitin up ahead
For you and me
Cool clear water
The nights are cool and Im a fool
Each star is a pool of water
Cool water
But come the dawn
We carry on
We wont last long without water
Cool clear water
Keep on movin dan
Were still in no-mans land
Dry bones and sand
People never planned here for water
Cool clear water
In my mind I see
A big green tree
And a river flowin free
Waiting up ahead for you and me
Cool clear water
The shadows sway
They seem to say
Tonight we pray for water
Cool water
And way up there
If you care
Please show us where
Theres good water
Cool clear water

When Summer Comes to Visit

There is no mistaking it,
When a heat stirs in the mix.
It is Summertime that comes.
And passions bloom,
To become part of it.

Who goes through a Summer,
Without feeling a touch of joy?
Who does not witness a sense of freedom...
With an adventure meant,
To be explored and not annoy!

There is no mistaking it,
This passion felt and has come to sit...
In the heated mix of Summer.

Who can not escape,
To excuse themselves from reason...
Not to have fun and participate.

When Summer is done and over,
Our memories of it...
Seem to linger,
And not drift away as quick.

When Summer comes to visit,
We wish these days,
Stay.
When Summer comes to visit,
We wish these days,
Stay.
When Summer comes to visit,
We wish these days,
Would stay...
Forever.

Hot Summer Night

Hot summer night
Soft breeze blew
Full moon bright

Dreams set sail
Paradise to pursue
Hear you exhale

Kiss your coconut
Images of bamboo
Near the oceanfront

Beach honeymoon
Alluring seashore view
Be there soon

As Though You Have Known It Forever

there is no such thing as done
everything is always unfinished

you think a bud dies, it does not
you think that the twig that you cut
remains cut

like a dead end of the road
that is always not the case

you think that the body of the man that we buried
is all that is,
that is not the real case

a story shall be borne it gives a bud and a twig another start
a poem is written it marks a new understanding

and the grain of sand becomes another planet
a drift wood becomes another one's dream of a bridge

it is not just the seed it is also the covering
not just the ring that you see but another one's marriage

a view can be immortalized in a painting
or even when the painting rots itself all colors cracking

there is always something that remains unsaid
it is
what is always unfinished

the one that we know but which we never uttered
the one we uttered but which we start to doubt and not really know

oh it is like a wheel of a bicycle
like the ring that you keep on wearing
like a hemisphere that you have traveled
over and over
as though you have known
it forever

Shangri-La Hotel

A visit to Shangri-La Hotel,
To my lover's room;
A visit to Shangri-La Hotel,
Like the eyes of an elephant;
I want to be in everybody's shoes but,
My mind is bigger than my shoes.
Like a message to the blue bears,
Like amessage to the white bears,
Like a message to the black bears,
LIke a message to the brown bears,
Keep it clean and soft;
a simple life to the muse of love.

A visit to my lover's room,
I am always moving and i don't look back;
Forward ever!
A visit to my lover's room,
I am always moving without looking back;
Backwards never!
A visit to my lover's room,
I know my back could be crooked;
But, i always move on.
I will surely reach to the end one day,
Like a visit to Shangri-La Hotel;
Forward ever, backwards never.

There comes a time when all seems so lost but,
Don't give up on your dreams in this life;
Like a marriage in the rain,
I do have a lover to visit.
The visit of my lover's room is like,
A love song in the rain;
The visit to my lover's room is like,
To marry in the rain;
The visit to my lover's room is like,
To make love in the rain;
The visit to my lover's room is like,
To walk naked in the rain;
The visit to my lover's room is like,
To sing in the rain;
Life is like that at times and,
I have my mind on you.

Louisa

Louisa, make it a point to visit Ghana;
For the nature is there for you to admire.

Of the Bobiri Forest and Betterfly Sanctuary to visit,
Of the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary to visit,
Of the Xavi Bird Watching Sanctuary to visit,
Of the Kakum National Park to visit,
Of the Aburi Botanical Gardens to visit,
Of the Bui National Park to visit,
Of the Ankasa Nature Park to visit,
Of the Bonsu Arboretum Park to visit,
Of the Digya National Park to visit,
And to sit under a broom tree with us;
Like a reed shaking in the water of love.

Louisa, make a trip to Ghana and see this lovely place;
For the nature is there for you to admire.

Too Grateful to Want Time to Stand Still

I've had a wealth of experiences from which to select.
If ever I decide to quit and sit in blissful reminiscing...
I would miss so much!

But like a blooming that is done until the procedure is over...
I have yet to become idled to wish for a pleasant revisit.
And,
I do my best when the opportunity presents itself,
To taste and absorb those moments as they are!
When they come as they do.

With a deep breath I am blessed to inhale.
Exhaling but keeping inside the view.
Moving to explore a mind unleashed.
As other revelations real enough to touch...
Solicits the attention I give!
And I am too grateful to want time to stand still.

Tomorrow sunrise lifts...
As dawn with the dew takes its time to disappear.
And I wish to witness every bit of it as it unfolds!

Dream A Little Dream For Me

At night when you think through your day
Think on the things that you did say
When you think through the things that you should be
Dream this little dream for me

Dream of blue skies forever
Dream that we are a worthy endeavor
Dream this one dream so you can see
Dream this little dream for me

The world fades but I'm still here
Still living for you
I'm sitting outside beneath the sky clear
Just enjoying your view

Sleep well until morning comes
Live with the passion of a thousand suns
Tell me all the things that you should be
And dream this little dream for me

Dream of you through my eyes
Dream though it may not be much of a surprise
That while you dream enjoying the view
I'm dreaming a little dream for you.

Yes, dreaming a dream for you!

The Fishes' Message, Poet: Sohrab Sepehri

I went to the pond
Hoping to see the reflection of my loneliness in the water

There was no water in the pond.
The fishes were saying:
'"It is not the trees' fault at all.
It was a sultry summer noon,
The bright son of water, sat by the pond's edge
And the eagle of the sun dived down and lifted him up & up in the air.

To hell with our not reaching any oxygen from water.
And the glitter has left our scales all together.
Instead, that big light,
The reflection of that red carnation in the water
Whose heart, if the wind was blowing, would beat behind the layers of neglect,
was our eyes.
It was a window to the confession of paradise.

If you see God in the palpitations of the garden,
Make an effort and tell him that the fishes'' pond is dry.'"

The wind was going to visit the plane tree,
I was going to visit God.

Here We Are

Here we are agin on this love,
Swimming in the water of love to gain a view;
Moving around and diving around like,
An orange tree of love.
You've got me on now,
true love is better than hate;
The water is warm around us and,
I do feel real in a realm like this.
Lead me on into your arm my sweet one and,
Show me the white love in you;
Here we are again on this love,
Swimming in the water of love to take a view.
This blue water also matches up with the sky,
And that is the way that true love goes;
Love is better than hate.
We are in this water together and,
I always feel better around you.

Only thing movin are the ants on the ground

Take Your Eyes Off Of My Treasured Space

Take your eyes off of my treasured space.
Not an inch of it here is yours to be shared.
You are welcome to visit and admire,
The peace kept within it.

And when your visit is over...
The front door will open.
And through it you will leave.
Hopefully with less curiousity...
As to what your decorating additions will be.

There will be none.
I have all the fun I've had,
Doing what you see myself.
And in the doing of it,
Was one of the best experiences I've had!
Enjoyed with no one else.
It was such a selfish joy!

Take your eyes off of my treasured space.
Not an inch of it here is yours to be shared.
You are welcome to visit and admire,
The peace kept within it.

And when your visit is over...
The front door will open.
And through it you will leave.
With an understood appreciation...
How glad I was to have you visit with me.

But you staying here is out of the question!
Although the time together,
Was enjoyable and well spent.
Give my regards to 'old' Broadway.
And other streets on which we played.
Back in the 'day'.!

There is nothing like a peace of mind,
I can find in any room I choose!
The air is fresh and absent of attitudes.
Sometimes just to sit in silence,
Energizes me with motivation.

Give me a call.
Maybe one day we can do lunch.
And exchange more of our fantasies!
While reminiscing as we munch,
And free from any temptation to aggravate.

Sonnets of home

I

I dream of building
a mansion, villa
or big white house
with a lot of space,
or maybe a Tuscan place
or two set on a terrace
on a mountain
with a wonderful view
overlooking the ocean
with a ivory white beach
that runs as far
as the eye can see
and to make it home
just for you and me

II

The birds will be our companions
and whales and dolphins
will pass in the bay
and a garden
as big as a park
will run all the way
down to the sea
and every plant and tree
that you like will be there
and vegetables will grow in patches
against the hill and there will be orchards
with juicy red, yellow and orange fruit
and plantations with big green pines
will cover the rest.

III

The house will be a white pillar
that towers like a castle above it all
and a place where any wary traveller
will be welcome to visit and rest
and there will be steps coming down
to the bay and a lift or two or three
next to an azure lagoon
where a cool river splashes down
in a big pronged waterfall
and we will be able
to lie in the bright sun
and run with the dogs
on the white beach
like children having fun.

IV

l’Envoi

Let others live in big crowded cities
and be packed into matchboxes
reaching up into the sky
and have more neighbours
than they care to know
but you and I
will be able to watch
blue waves twist and break
and hear the melody
of the rushing sea
and your studio and our home
will stretch from the hill
down to the aquamarine ocean
and touch the big sapphire sky.

Paradise

Where the river runs black
I take the schoolbooks from your pack
Plastics, wire and your kiss
The breath of eternity on your lips
In the crowded marketplace
I drift from face to face
I hold my breath and close my eyes
I hold my breath and close my eyes
And I wait for paradise
And I wait for paradise
The virginia hills have gone to brown
Another day another sun going down
I visit you in another dream
I visit you in another dream
I reach and feel your hair
Your smell lingers in the air
I brush your cheek with my fingertips
I taste the void upon your lips
And I wait for paradise
And I wait for paradise
I search for you on the other side
Where the river runs clean and wide
Up to my heart the waters rise
Up to my heart the waters rise
I sink 'neath the water cool and clear
Drifting down, I disappear
I see you on the other side
I search for the peace in your eyes
But theyre as empty as paradise
Theyre as empty as paradise
I break above the waves
I feel the sun upon my face

It Only Takes One To Visit

It only takes one to visit,
For that one to realize...
The scope of the mental illness there.
Just one visit,
And those aware of bigotry and racism...
Regardless of the beauty welcomed,
With the changing of each season...
What is window dressed,
Covers with success the evilness.
It only takes one to visit,
To witness the depth of ineptness.

Echoes of silence

A silent scream
A bad dream..
nightmare

Wake me up
Some one dare
Spare me.. spare!

Everytime i remember
that touch that smell
The day i experienced hell

my cross to bear
All my life
My death knell

My tortured sigh
someone hear in silence
my helplessness

As i laid that night
Silence echoes my fight
my plight!

Silence echoes
Scot free, he walks away
echoes till this day

Silence echoes
My lost innocence
At nights in dreams..

Night, witness to my pain
Driving me insane
within my heart...

Silence echoes,
My silent scream
my broken dreams..

Silence echoes....

Sparkling Water

Sparkling Water drips like sugar coming from a grand white sugar cane,

Sparkling Water falls around, to the ground and speeds like cars on a freeway lane.

Sparkling Water glistens and gleams, you know it seems as real as it can be,

Nothing is real, but you hear me feel, the cold, pure breeze.

It pushes away,

In the hot summer day.

Like a frog in the green,

Those annoying little things.

They jump just like water,

Like babies tater toter.

We drink it,

We need it.

Its water, it sparkles, its beautiful, it gleams, so pure, must have it, I need it.

Sparkling Water, its life.

The 'Poem A Day' Project ~ Day 210

Gather round I’ll tell a tale
The saddest tale I’ve told
Will make you weep and sniffle
And your blood will run so cold
About a forsaken journey
Of which I dare not boast
When a few of us set out
On a drive to the coast me boys
On a drive to the coast

The sun was hanging heavy
The clouds were scurrying round
We’d packed up drink and sandwiches
And soon were south east bound
We had our kite and towels
So we could paddle away
But as we hit the road
The sky went a dark grey me pals
The sky went a dark grey

Then the rain came pouring
Drowning out our dreams
Of laying on the beach
And eating cool ice creams
‘it may clear up when we’re there’
Our driver said with hope
But our spirits were so beaten
We didn’t believe that dope me lads
We didn’t believe that dope

But the rain kept on coming
And curses crossed our lips
As we stood in the beach bus shelter
Eating bags of soggy chips
The crazy golf was closed
The view was wet and bleak
So we all got back in the car
We’ll try again next week me boys
We’ll try again next week

The Lake

There was a secluded little lake near
My school when I was young; every
Saturday I would be there, a weekly
Visit to take in the calming effect
Of its tranquility; its miror surface
Which afforded a good view of the
Sprinting of tilapias as they noticed
My arrival and the fallen trees with
Their subteranean upright branches,
Twigs and leaves which when greeted by the wind
Twisted like the tail of an enthusiastic
Dog heralding its master's arrival.
Stones I would throw into the lake
Creating large rings running towards
The riparian field filled with white
Sand, bamboo and rubber trees; a little
Sojourn which refreshed my mind for another
Week of gruelling lessons and homework.
