Commercial Lie

Where is the honor in telling us on live television
that we need this thing you are trying to sell
Why do you say this when you and I both know it is a lie
It is a commercial lie

No Lies

Oh ... I got one thing to tell ya, then you make up your mind.
Its what I been tryin to tell ya, for a long, long time.
We need each other, to live in peace and harmony.
Dont need a whole lot to give, cause love is for free.
I ... I got one thing to tell ya,
I ... oooo, I aint tryin to sell ya,
No lies.
Forget all of your troubles, for a minute or two.
Just listen to what Im sayin, cause Im talkin to you.
We dont need no leader, to tell us just whats wrong.
We need love in the country, so we can get strong.
And, I ... oh, you know, I got one thing to tell ya,
I ... oooo, I aint tryin to sell ya,
No lies.
I ... I got one thing to tell ya,
I ... oooo, I aint gonna sell ya,
No lies.
I ... I got one thing to tell ya,
I ... oooo, I aint gonna sell ya,
No lies.

Telling Tales To Tattle

Tales tattled and told to sell or barter,
Are not the ones recommended to be eager to keep.
Not if the telling of them make the innocent weep.
Since resentments kept can grow deep.
And the price one pays for telling tales to tattle,
Has a way to come back to rattle one's peace...
In a way that the teller had wished never altered,
To utter as told to sell to be sold.

I certainly grew up seeing more movies and television than I read books, but when it came time to do the thing itself you don't have to hire a lot of people to sit down and write a book, so that was the story-telling medium that was available to me.

Funny Commercials, Damn

television screens gave birth to me
I want emancipation

a blood aqueduct above my hands
I need help
but the game is on

eyes on legs and hands and
bad calls
and I am feeling light headed

my fragmented heart made so
by cruel, beautiful lips

what should I do?

wait, honey, it's almost commercial

a cryogenic heart left asunder
soul made of concrete

no summer day embrace for this child
of sitcoms

nothing left to do but sell what is left
of my soul

bring the popcorn

Telling again and again

Telling again and again and
Again the same thing repeatedly
Is not bad rather it is good
Telling again and again and
Again the same story remind you
The mistake that turned you bad
And telling again and again and
Again the same thing you became
The master orator and we hear
You all words being consumers.

Tv Is King

All right! yeah!
I wish I was a man with a mechanical heart
Id conquer all my enemies alone
Id tear the guys apart
Then scatter the pieces
I wish I was the man in the sound proof booth
I wish I had a chance to stump the band
Or maybe tell the truth
And maybe I could win a color television
I really love my television
I love to sit by television
Cant live without my television
Tv is king
Youre my everything
I wish I had the girl with the bouncy hair
Wed ride off in a brand new car
Or fly a plane somewhere
Like probably jamaica
Ill brush my teeth, shampoo my hair,
And shave my face
Apply the necessary aerosol
In the appropriate place
And well spend the night together
Watching television
I cant turn off my television
Dont really know why television
I understand my television
Youve got your works in a drawer
And your colors on track
You have to brave the way
But you always come back
You make a hundred changes
But youre always the same
You make me so excited
And you make me so lame
Youre just a cute ball of gas
And a box full of tin
But you show me your junk
And I want to jump in
Oh if only your chassis
Was covered with skin
cause tv youre my everything

What Sells…

Everything is for sale.
There is always a sale.
Everybody is trying to sell
Something:
One tiny thing, one giant thing,
The tabloid,
The latest android,
The newest asteroid,
And something in between.
Somebody is simultaneously
Trying to sell the queen,
And offer her exotic ants,
For a lot of money.
This is not funny, somebody wants
To sell the queen a painting,
A castle, and a golden tent;
These are more appropriate.
It is never too late
To recover, to renounce.
Do you know that one ounce
Of something that is sold in the streets
Can generate a lot of honey?
And then when one get caught, it is not funny
To say that one is sent to a few unpleasant retreats.
Everything is now for sale
Somewhere in the universe.
And I am not telling tale,
The world is quasi-immersed
By trash or junk to sell.
Garbage sells like hot breads.
Books that deal with crime,
Sex, prostitution, hot beds,
Lies, corruption, and slime,
Become best sellers,
However, the ones that rhyme
Are either thrown in the incinerators
Or burnt in the cellars.
Films with bad actors,
Immature titles,
And strange battles,
Sometimes reach the highest numbers,
And before you know it, they are forgotten
Like the blonde who scored ten
In the last unscrupulous pageantry.
Everyone wants money,
And most refuse to earn it
The old fashion way through sweat,
Tears and loosing a lot of sleep.
One must know how to beat the beep,
In order to make it.
Everything is for sale.
There is always a sale.

Interest Rate

Interest rate should be fixed
In such a manner and style
So that both the commercial banks
And their clients are benefited
But unfortunately many people
Incur loss as a result of
High interest rate

The central bank should encourage
The commercial banks
To go for investment
In the lucrative sectors
In order to create more fund
And to enable them to give more loans
And lower interest rate
For the entrepreneurs

If the commercial banks
Lower interest rate
For the depositors
The latter will not be discouraged much
Since people deposit money mainly
To keep it in a safe place

If the commercial banks
Lower interest rate
For the entrepreneurs
Many more people will take loan
As a result
Both the parties will be benefited

According to Islam
If there is more good elements
Than bad effects
Exist in a thing
It becomes halal

Therefore if most of the people are benefited
By taking loans it becomes okay

The Light Without A Switch Off

one best thing is this:
we write from the bottom of our hearts,
guessing that perhaps this is what others feel too.

we simply describe our state of mind,
in the most simple way understandable by that common man on the street

a fish vendor if he reads that we are feeling like rotten fish
if you tell him, how rotten fish smells and what a wasted feeling is
it when it is there unsold

look at his face? make him understand that we are all vendors of
our feelings, that our feelings sometimes do not sell,
he will understand that,

everything is classified as a commercial act
writing, speaking, wooing,
what a humiliation of what we really are
hawkers of beliefs, ambulant chasers of emotions

what a demeaning purpose,
this must stop, it is not real, it is a prostitution of our
faith,

we write from the bottom of our hearts
and you feel it, that is why you are following the sounds of drums
at the center of the island

where we grow a bonfire, where smoke rises to the sky
where evenings become so lighted, where dance assumes true meaning

our shadows are pure, our bodies own them
and the moon at night makes them all alive

you are telling me that this fire is invisible
and it has not switch for you to put it off.
