Wedding Cake-A Song
Now that the night is approaching the midnight
I hear the pounding sounds on the window panes
Not able to sleep I look out the windows to see
if you are there somewhere
but you are already long gone
only the wedding cake I see
Wonder who left the wedding cake...?
O I am going away, oh my sad love...!
After this night's over,
I am going to someone I don't want
With tears in my eyes,
I am going to someone who is not you
After this night's over,
I am going to someone I don't love
Please let me see your face one more time
for the last time, love!
I hear the merciless dawn church bell tolls from afar
that don't know my heart aches
Wondering if you are there somewhere
I look out the windows
but you are already long gone no where to be found.
I keep shedding my tears looking at the left wedding cake
I keep shedding my tears looking at the left wedding cake

The wedding cake couple
The wedding cake couple
Held hands on-top in vigil
Clinging on to each other tightly
There ‘I do's' written in song
Lasted just as long as it took!
Mother in law to take another
Man across the ebony dance floor.
Her six more devoured the cake
But are wedding cake couple
They still held hands in vigil
On the last tier of the disaffected
So they pervaded and kissed
But then great grandma waltzed
In like an elephant to depose
All those who imposed self will
She cared little for our wedding cake couple
She snapped them down the middle
Just to see if they weren't just candy too.
But are wedding cake couple
They still held hands somewhere later
They pervaded and kissed
And renewed their vows
Clinging on to each other tightly,
There 'I do's' written in song
Lasted just as long as it took!
The disco-ball world to end...

Lover Lover Lover
I asked my father,
I said, father change my name.
The one Im using now its covered up
With fear and filth and cowardice and shame.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
He said, I locked you in this body,
I meant it as a kind of trial.
You can use it for a weapon,
Or to make some woman smile.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
Then let me start again, I cried,
Please let me start again,
I want a face thats fair this time,
I want a spirit that is calm.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
I never never turned aside, he said,
I never walked away.
It was you who built the temple,
It was you who covered up my face.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
And may the spirit of this song,
May it rise up pure and free.
May it be a shield for you,
A shield against the enemy.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me,
Yes and lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover come back to me.

The Bride-cake
This day, my Julia, thou must make
For Mistress Bride the wedding-cake:
Knead but the dough, and it will be
To paste of almonds turn'd by thee;
Or kiss it thou but once or twice,
And for the bride-cake there'll be spice.

Make Believe
Make believe U're a hero, make believe U're a star
Make believe that U're somebody instead of who U really are
Make believe
It's only a movie
U don't need 2 scratch 4 crumbs when U deserve the whole cake
Make believe U're Sidney Poitier, believe, U gotta make believe
U got 2 make believe, U got 2 make believe
Baby, U got 2 make believe it's only a movie
Make believe U're sophisticated, make believe that U're en vogue
Make believe that U're quite wealthy even though
U're so broke U can't pay attention
Baby, U got 2 make believe, U got 2 make believe
Make believe it's only a movie
Make believe U're a star
U got 2 make believe, U got 2 make believe
U got 2 make believe, U got 2 make believe

Broken Marriage
Haunted by these memories
Haunted by our past
Thought leaving would put me at ease
Should have known it wouldn't last
I think about the wedding cake
And all the wedding flowers
These tears are falling down my face
Randomly crying for hours
I married a man who was a boy
Though through love I couldn't tell
As time went on that boy emerged
And I watched as our marriage fell
He never put forth an effort
And I faked a smile
Thought one day he would see through it
But it lasted quite a while
Finally had to give in
Give up and let go
Walk away while it caved in
Left that boy so he would grow
Now there's no more wedding cake
No more wedding flowers
Just me and my children
Watching them play for hours
I will get through this
Completely let go
Time shall heal these wounds
As I watch my babies grow
I will do the right thing
And be happy once again
Not with him
But with them

It Takes Love
Written by glen burtnik, bob berger
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
Sometimes its hard to smile
Keep looking back
Searching for somebody
Who once was in your life
Baby let him go now
Therell be something better ahead
It takes love to make love
You cant hide behind your broken heart
It takes love to make love
Let the light of another lover shine on you
We all have tears to cry
But there comes a day
To leave your tears behind you
And give your heart
Someplace to start
And if you find your way there
Therell be someone waiting for you
It takes love to make love
You cant hide behind your broken heart
It takes love to make love
Let the light of another lover shine on you
Like a river
That flows
To the sea
Dont wait
Like a river
Flowing down
Whoa...hey...ooh...ah...ooh
It takes love to make love
You cant hide behind your broken heart
It takes love to make love
Let the light of another lover shine on you
It takes love to make love
Never mind the broken heart baby
It takes love to make love
Let the light of another lover shine on you

For My Wedding
(larry john mcnally)
For my wedding, I will dress in black
And never again will I look back
Ah, my dark angels we must part
For Ive made a sanctuary of my heart
To want what I have
To take what Im given with grace
For this I pray
On my wedding day
For my wedding, I dont want violins
Or sentimental songs about thick and thin
I want a moment of silence and a moment of prayer
For the love well need to make it in the world out there
To want what I have
To take what Im given with grace
For this I pray
On my wedding day
On my wedding day
I dream, and my dreams are all glory and light
Thats what Ive wanted for my life
And if it hasnt always been that way
Well, I can dream and I can pray
On my wedding day
So what makes us any different from all the others
Who have tried and failed before us
Maybe nothing, maybe nothing at all
But I pray were the lucky ones; I pray we never fall
To want what we have
To take what were given with grace
For these things I pray
On my wedding day
On my wedding day

After The Tears
Do you want a shoulder
I only want to hold you
In your hour of need
I hate to say I told you so
But you should've let him go
It just wasn't meant to be
Let me make your pain a little lighter
I can help you make your world a little brighter
I'll be there when the shouting's over
I'll be here after the tears
You just may need me to hold you
I'll be here after the tears
Just a matter of time now
Till I make you mine now
It could happen any day
Waited patiently
Now it looks like you're gonna be free
The tide is turning my way
I'll see you through all the confussion
I'll be your only true solution
I'll be here when the party's over
I'll be here after the tears
You just may need another lover
I'll be here after the tears
Hold on
Love is not so far away
Can you hear it calling
Be strong
I'll be waiting in the wings
(I'll be here when the shouting's over)
i can make it better
(I'll be here after the tears)
I can make it better
(You just may need me to hold you)
I can make it better
(I'll be here after the tears)
(I can make it better)
I'll be here when the party's over
(I can make it better)
I'll be here after the tears
(I can make it better)
You just may need another lover
(I can make it better)
I'll be here after the tears
(I can make it better)

The Baker Man
Well here comes a dance that will never be banned now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
Yeah, stolen from a story called "The Baker's Man" now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Choo choo choo choo-do choo choo)
It's impossible too sweet to cross the land????
(Patty cake patty cake)
Put your favorite records on and start the show now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
Abra-cadabra look at everyone go now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Choo choo choo choo-do choo choo)
Alakazam this dance has got to grow now
(Patty cake patty cake)
Well they tell me that it's optional to use your feet
But now you really don't need them if you keep your beat
Well Arthur Murray's gettin' blurry tryin' to learn that jive
When all the kids from coast to coast are really comin' alive
Well go tell the gang what a time you've had now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
This Friday night we'll start a regular fad now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Choo choo choo choo-do choo choo)
We'll do the Baker 'til it drives us mad now
(Patty cake patty cake)
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
(Choo choo choo choo-do choo choo)
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
Come on and take a lesson now
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
Clap your partner's hands
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
Not too hard
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
Now slap her in the face
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man)
What a disgrace
(Choo choo choo choo-do choo choo)
(Patty cake patty cake)
(Patty cake patty cake baker's man

the autumn is the wedding

the winter is the wedding

the spring is the wedding

the summer is the wedding

each year of a heavenly disguise
a place to beauty rise

Lord tells you on your wedding day.....
I will make the sun shine bright on your wedding day
and I will make your night as a beautiful and peaceful one
I will make the heaven to throw his blessings to you
and I will show you how much I love you my son
Today is your wedding day and its the most beautiful day for you
A man and a woman promise each other in front of me to live together forever
and an oath of life between both of you can not be broken till the end
Trust each other and make your journey to the greatest love
Have a faith on me then I will protect you in many ways
and I will make your life worth to live the way you want to do so
Show your availability by coming to this church for prayers
and I will show you my ability through my precepts my son
Always, have a kind word for those who needs help
Always, give your heart for those who loves me
Always, make others to understand my strength and power
Always, have a hearty appetite to follow my steps my son
Today is your wedding day and its the most happiest day for you
Let the rest of your life be the best of life with my blessings
Walk with me my son I will clear all those rough path ways
and I will make you to reach a life without falling into any sins

Water Tender
The river
has not entered the house yet.
I pack framed photographs:
weddings, babies,
dead uncles, and grandparents,
set aside ceramic eggs,
balanced on wooden stands,
to reach the wedding cake couple,
equidistant between two photographs.
My mother,
in her borrowed wedding dress,
holding a bouquet of artificial flowers,
whiter than Aunt Rose Mary's silk skirt.
My father,
in his Navy uniform, bearing
the insignia of a Water Tender,
his cap worn tilted to the right.
Standing midpoint,
the wedding cake couple
represents their union.
Flesh colored paint overlaps
the neckline of the bride,
executed too quickly.
The groom's black top-hat
is worn, a wedding ring shape
encircles the edge of the crown.
My mother is dead,
my father has remarried. He's left
behind the photographs, the eggs,
the wedding cake couple.
The river enters an open door.
I salvage what I can.

Penny Lover
Penny lover
(lionel richie, brenda harvey-richie)
The first time I saw you
Oh, you looked so fine
And I had a feeling
One day youd be mine
Honey you came along and captured my heart
Now my love is somewhere lost in your kiss
When Im all alone its you that I miss
Girl a love like yours is hard to resist
Oh, oh, ooh, ooh, oh
Penny lover, my loves on fire
Penny lover, youre my one desire
Tell me baby could this be true
That I could need someone, like I need you
Nights warm and tender
Lying next to you
Girl I surrender
Oh, what more can I do
Ive spent all of my life in search of your love
Now theres one more thing Id like to say
Dont you ever take your sweet love away
Girl Ill do anything, just please stay
Oh, oh
(bridge)
I dont understand it, oh whats come over me
But Im not gonna worry, no not anymore
cause when a mans in love, hes only got one story
Thats why my love is somewhere lost in your kiss
When Im lost and alone its you that I miss
With a love like yours, its hard to resist
Ooh, ooh, oh
(begin fade)
Penny lover, dont you walk on by (dont you walk on by)
Penny lover, dont you make me cry (dont you make me cry baby)
Penny lover, dont you walk on by (dont you walk on by)
Penny lover, dont you make me cry (oh penny baby)
Penny lover, dont you walk on by (dont you walk on by)
I remember the first time I saw you baby
Penny lover, dont you make me cry
You had the look in your eye, you had the look in your eye, yeah, yeah
Ooh pretty baby
I just wanted to reachout and touch you baby
I just want to reach out and hold ya, I want to reach out and say ooh, ooh
Dont make me cry
I wanna talk about you everyday (penny lover)
Need you, need you baby ...

Lets Kiss & Make Up
I didnt mean to,
Start any scene to
Make you sigh
Hope to die
Its most immoral
For us to quarrel
Why cant we
Both agree
Dont you know ben franklin wrote about this thing at length?
On the proposition that in union there is strength?
Why raise a storm up
If well just warm up
The blues will slumber
Well have their number
Lets kiss and make up
Come on, lets wake up
For I need you and you need me
Lets kiss and make up
No use to break up
When we can live in harmony
Ill give you your way
You give me my way
And out the doorway
Our cares will fly away
If we be happy
The way is clear
Lets kiss, and make up
No use to break up
We need each other, dear
Lets kiss and make up
No cares to rake up
For I need you and you need me
No reprimanding
Full understanding
That we can live in harmony
The world is prose-y
When we are fighting
Lets make it rosy
By reuniting
Two heads are better
Than what I hear
Lets kiss and make up
No use to break up
We need each other, dear
Why should we shake up
A new earthquake-up
Take the uptake-up
And soon theyll bake-up
A wedding cake-up
Lets kiss and make up
We need each other dear

Some-Fake-A Baked Cake
No I don't have...
What I do have.
And I do have...
That which I don't.
A peaceless sleep...
Like many who walk 'mean' streets.
No I wont have,
None of that!
Strung out on dope,
Because I can't cope.
No I don't have,
None of that to keep me off track.
Or,
Make an impact.
No I don't have...
What I do have.
And I do have...
That which I don't.
No I don't have...
What I do have.
And I do have...
That which I don't.
Psychotic I'm not...
Like the ones who worry a lot.
Or hooked on smoking pot.
No I don't have...
What I do have.
And I do have,
That which I don't!
No I don't have...
What I do have.
And I do have,
That which I don't!
Even though...
Some-fake-a baked cake.
Some-fake-a baked cake.
Some-fake-a baked cake.
And I wont have...
None of that.
Even though...
Some-fake-a baked cake.
Some-fake-a baked cake.
Some-fake-a baked cake.
And I wont have...
None of that.
No!
I wont have...
None of that.

First Love is You
It is never wrong to love someone else;
But make sure your first love is you.
You can buy your lover a gift that is cool.
But make sure you also buy something just for you.
You can whisper sweet words in your lovers' ear.
But make sure you tell yourself you are beautiful every time you look in the mirror.
I know when you love someone else you sometimes lose yourself.
And there is nothing wrong with love someone else;
But make sure your first love is you.
Lover Be Thy Name
Lover, lover
Lover be thy name I say
Hey, hey, hey lover
Lover, lover
Lover be thy name
Everyday when the sun goes down
And all alone I face the night
I thinkof you and all that you've been
To me you've torn away a hole in my life
Don't try to be my sister, my mother, my friend
Cause it would never ever be the same
Hey, hey, hey
Lover be thy name
In the Middle of the night
Lover be thy name
In the middle of the night
Lover be thy name
Go live your life and I'll try live mine
But baby, if you see me out on the street
Walk away, turn away
Don'tlook in my eyes
Till I get my heart back on my feet
Don't wanna be your brother or the
Shoulder you lean on
Just to ease the burning pain
When I Call you there's no answer
When I had your love
I didn't know the words to say
Those words to make you stay
I should have said
Lover, lover
Lover be thy name

I Dont Know Your Name
Emily:
I walked into my favorite place one night
Id just gotten back from a lecture
And I was feeling kind of uptight
And at the edge of the bar there was this guy
And you know I wasnt really looking
But I caught him out of the corner of my eye
The next thing I know he was moving my way
I thought he wanted to talk
But this is what he had to say
Amy:
I dont know your name babe
But I want to be your lover
Yall sing it with me
I dont know your name babe
But I want to be your lover
Your lover your lover your lover
One time or another baby
I want to be your lover
Emily:
I have to admit I was a little bit surprised
But I wasnt really scared cause I was twice his size
So I said to myself, okay, Ill play his game
And when he turned to me
I gave him my name
Amy:
I know your name babe
But I got to know your number
I know your name babe
But I got to know your number your number
I said one time or another baby
Im gonna be your lover
Yeah I wanna be your lover
Emily:
Well I said to myself this guy is persistent
Hes a little bit dumb but at least hes consistent
I tried to talk cool but when we touched I went under
I made a quick decision and I gave him my number
Amy:
I know your number
But I dont know what to say babe
Emily:
Thats ok
Amy:
I know your number
Your number babe
But I dont know what to say to you
Say to you say to you say to you darling
Oh it dont matter anyway no
I dont talk when Im make love to you babe
I dont talk when I make love
I wanna be you lover
I wanna be you lover
Lover lover
Lover lover
Lover lover
Emily:
Well you probably wont believe this
But we got married one day
And I still dont know if he speaks english
cause he doesnt have much to say
Its a damn good thing I like lying around
We dont make much conversation
But love makes sounds
You know what Im talking about
Yall know what Im talking about
Well one thing Ive learned from being in this state
Emily and amy:
There are other ways to communicate
Amy:
I dont know your name babe
But I want to be your lover
Dont know your name babe
But I want to be your lover
Your lover your lover your lover
One time or another baby
Im gonna be your lover
