Color Critic

Why does it bother me
That the juice of the plum
At the heart of the poem
Should not be maroon?

Did I not feel the heartbeat
Of a mother birthng her loss?
As the fledging left her hand
Jar shattering, ripe womanhood
Spilled?
What was that color then?
We all know it. Saffron? No.
Fuchsia? Close. Not pink, nor purple,
And, definitely, not maroon.
By concentrating on the hue
I escape the pain
Of my vermillion loss.

Pink, Our Shrink, and Love, I Think

The only things I can think
(Besides think)
That rhyme with pink
Are stink
And wink
And blink
And sometimes I think I need this shrink
Because I hate pink
As the things it rhymes with stink
Like facial functions and thoughts I think
Then write down here in maroon ink
And as said by our shrink
The problem with pink
Is that it can't express the love that I think
And wink
To you as I blink
And now dare to write in maroon ink
As between you and me, it's a link
We both hate the color, I think
Because this poem makes us tickled pink
As we wait in the office of our shrink
Who we hate as much as the color pink

A wold made of pink

It's just a new obsession
A color which makes me go insane
Pink is not any kind of fiction
Pink always helps me gain
Faith, confidence and everything I need
Trust, joy and a bit of laughter
This color helps me succeed
Pink is the color of my eyes
Only when I look at you
Pink makes me an angel in disguise
It's the color which brings joy to me and my crew
Pink is a color so mighty, so great
Pink is the color my face
Turns when I'm late
Pink is the color which nothing can replace
It's the color which I can't stop thinking of
Neither day nor night
Pink symbolizes my love
Pink is the color of the light
Which shines in my heart for you
It's the color of a wonderland
This color shouldn't be withdrew
It's the color of my imaginary sand
Pink is the color my cat wants to be
Pink is the color of the sun which shines
Pink is the color the world can see
Pink is the color which gives me signs

Loss Of...

Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of dreams, the dreams of tomorrow

Loss of the moments you two should have shared
Loss of opportunities to show her you cared

Loss of the memories you both could have created
Loss of the romance once intense as you dated

Loss of a kiss, caress, or embrace
Loss of that special feeling no one else can replace

Loss of a look, the twinkle in her eye
Loss of the touch as you pass each other by

Loss of a future, from a past of regret
Loss of a last chance, how many do you get

Loss of a promise you never meant to break
Loss of two hearts that forever will ache

Baby, I Love You

Broken glass littered the floor
I stared at the maroon pool
Glass boats floating about
Numb
For once
I didn’t feel the pain
The pain of losing you
The pain of ending you
The pain of breaking you
The pain of loneliness
A slight blur settled
Among my thoughts
The pretty glass boats
Fascinate me
Baby, I don’t know how
I don’t know why
But somehow
I don’t need you
I want you
You’re a forgotten letter
And just before
The curtain closes
The darkness settles
Your beautiful eyes
Remind me
I can’t escape the pain
It’s always there
And one more thing-
Baby, I love you

Romeo Delight

I told her, never in hell, no special reason.
Must a lied cause I aint leavin.
Were in for a very long night.
Heard a vicious rumor from your mamas tongue:
You a desprate woman, need a man with a gun.
High crime zone in the city of lights.
Baby, please!
Cant take it anymore.
Baby, please!
Cant take it anymore.
Im takin whiskey to the party tonight,
And Im lookin for somebody to squeeze.
I aint lookin for somebody to fight.
Baby, dont get uptight.
Baby, please!
Wanna see my i.d.? try to clip my wings!
Dont have to show you proof of anything.
I know the law friend.
At the leventh hour. Im goin back outside.
Give it a try.
Im your last loose end.
Baby, please!
Cant take it anymore.
Baby, please!
Cant take it anymore.
Im takin whiskey to the party tonight
And Im lookin for somebody to squeeze.
I aint lookin for somebody to fight.
Baby, dont get uptight.
Baby, please!
I feel my heart beat,
Feel my heart beat,
Feel my heart beat,
Oh yeah.
Baby, please!
Cant take it anymore.
Baby, please!
Cant take it anymore.
Im takin whiskey to the party tonight,
And Im lookin for somebody to squeeze.
I aint lookin for somebody to fight.
Baby, dont get uptight.

The Color of My Heart...(a song)

The color of my heart...
Without you it's black
The color of my heart...
With you it's red
Is it love?

The color of my heart...
When it's broken
It's purple
With you it's red
Is it love?
(chorus)
The color
Color
The color of my heart...
The feeling of you
Makes it warm
The color of my heart...

Oh oh oh
The color of my heart...
When it's warm, it's pink
The color of my heart...
When it's sad, it's blue
(chorus)

The color of my heart...
Is the emotions with you
The color of my heart...
Makes me feel like new, oh oh oh
Is it love?
(chorus) x2
(The color of my heart...oh oh oh)

Your Loss Diminishes Me

your loss is my loss
tho ur gain may b my pain
i may not feel
not as much as u may
u may not heal
surely not today.
Things wld surely change
this may b a brand new day
this would bring u rage
when it comes to ur mind again and again
i dont know how to wipe ur tears away
i dont know the ryt words to say
ald never be ok
nothings would ever soothe me
i dont feel as u the same way
and am blessed with this curse
i am diminished by your loss
ur loss diminishes me.

Not All Losses Are Bad

Loss, most of the time bad. On occasion, great!

SOME TIME A LOSS CAN BE GOOD!

Can loss sometime be happy. You bet! Ask some
divorced couples.

The other guy had a loss and I won!

My ex had a loss, of most of our assets. Yes,
you guessed it, I got 'em!

Insurance companies, now there's some, that
many take great delight,
when they suffer a loss.

When the tax man does an audit, if they have
a loss, we have a win! (best kind of loss)

The person who brings suite against you,
suffers a loss. (Ain't that sweet?)

A hostile mother-in-law, suffers a loss,
when her daughter gets divorced.

When one experiences a weight loss.
Now that's something that would make
millions of people happy!

When the owner of your building, is deemed
to be, 'rent controlled, ' it brings a loss
to the greedy titleholder. (break out the champagne)

When the neighbor you hadn't spoken to for years,
has a loss, of the keys, to her car.

When the kid, who keeps running over your lawn,
with his bike, has a loss, of the two wheel monster.

When you child, who you love, but drives you nuts
with their loud music, has a broken stereo,
and a loss of music. (They're unhappy. You're ecstatic.)

When one has a loss of sleep, because their spouse
was amorous all night. (Ahhhh, the good old days.)

When your in-laws, prepare to come to your house,
for the first time, and have a loss of directions.

When your spouse, who cremates every barbecue
they ever handled, has a loss of the coals.
(Actually you hid them.)

When the know-it-all comes to your home, and
can't say a word, because they had a loss of
their dentures.

Remember...If you have a loss, sometime,
the loss is good!

Only The Fake Blood Seems Real

humans have a lot in common with other humans humans bleed
quite a lot I think at the cinema humans have gallons of blood to bleed out in the dying scenes on the theater screens all the flowing
red swims before our eyes till we've grown dizzy and have to get up

than ten men blood coating the gutters and storm drains of the city I wonder why we even bother going to the movies anymore? humans have a lot in common with other humans humans bleed with other humans humans bleed quite a lot I think at the cinema humans

Lost In A House Fire

The loss of a child
The loss of a wife
Tis all the same as the loss of your own life
The loss of house and all that's inside
Tis all the same as if your whole soul had died
The loss of temper
Loss of faith and self-control
Tis all the same as knowing you have now grown very old
The loss of all memory when all is becalmed
When you find that your wife and child all safe and unharmed

THIS GREAT STORM(for Junie)

My heart nothing but
an onion skin thin

sheet of paper
almost see through

transparent in its sadness

grief scrawled
across it

in a violent violet
ink

that still
hasn't faded

this heavy hurt
this all too too solid pain

necessary paperweights
to prevent my heart

being blown away
in this great storm

of loss...loss...loss.

Kinds of Loss

There's kinds of loss that can bum you out

The loss of a game
You lost your way
Losing your favorite pin

This can make you pout
But without a doubt
It is not a real big thing

The kind of loss that can make you shout

The loss of your job
The loss your car
When you could not pay

It left you confused
Feeling slightly defused
But then you can re-group

Then there a loss, that cuts deep within

My maternal rights that I tried not to win
So stupid to give up such a gift
To watch my boys grow, live with the man
that I've tried so much to get away

No school papers to hang on my frig
No more practices to run to at night
Now I that I am a part-time Mom
And try and do it all on my weekends

Fear of the unknown; panic
Heartbeat pounds in your ears
Pain courses through you like fire
Tears trickle down your face; like diamonds; like ice
Confusion is your only thought
Questions race to you; from you; through you
Hope refreshingly appears; cleansing like water
Despair returns; drying up hope; panic returns
Submission to these pulsating emotions
Loss of control; of innocence
Fear, once more; forever

A Posting In The Street

this picture says it all:

we must learn
together to live as brothers
or
we shall perish together
as fools

framed in maroon colors
of hardwood
a black man in black suit
raises his right hand to
stress his point
his left hand rests on the railing
a shadow of a street sign
lands on this figure

as i see it
there are no men watching this picture anymore
left to the sun
which the strong winds want to destroy.

Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable

The death of a twelve year old,
Her sister shed tears,
But the body was cold,
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

She felt all had lost hope,
It was her fault,
'I let go the rope! '
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

'I should have pulled her up'
'I lost grip'
'I should'nt have given up! '
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

'You trusted me! '
'And there is no reason....'
' No you shouldn't have, see? '
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

'No! It's not your fault! ',
Said her sister,
Who lay dead in the vault,
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.
