Clay Thoughts!
there are some hard truths,
we often fail to believe
rather we succeed to forget
we are made of clay....
yes clay, i mean it
molded to be a wonder called human
still u feel reluctant to walk barefoot
feeling the mud itself is dirty for you! !
i am no exception
the extreme of identity crisis
the thought that disturbs u and me
we are clay

Stone
The days have passed, nights are gone,
I'm still in love with a stone,
The seasons changed, the clay too came,
I still hold it with no moan,
The clay comes to me in so many shapes,
Wants me to hold it, whatever it may take,
But clay can hurt me, clay may fake,
Even if it's clay, I have a heart it can break,
The season may change,
The clay may go,
Slowing my heart beat,
All time low,
Stone is hard,
Stone is black,
Stone is emotionless,
Doesn't stab at back,
The clay, the stone, both make me die,
But if a stone does, even the clay may cry...
and I'll never ask why...
It's better to live with a stone,
not clay,
Clay is soft, but it hurts,
which is not the stone's way.....

Peace Proposal
Said General Clay to General Gore really must we fight this silly war
To kill and die in such a bore I quite agree said General Gore
Said General Gore to General Clay we could go to the beach today
And have some icecream on the way a grand idea said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore we'll build sand castles on the shore
Said General Gore we'll splash and play let's leave right now said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay but what if the sea's closed today
And what if the sand's been blown away the dreadful thought said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay I've always feared the ocean's spray
And we may drown it's true we may it chills my blood said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore my bathin' suit is slightly tore
We better go on with our war I quite agree said General Gore
The General Clay chanrged General Gore as bullets flew and cannons roared
And now at last there is no more of General Clay or General Gore

The Generals
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'Oh must we fight this silly war?
To kill and die is such a bore.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'We could go to the beach today
And have some ice cream on the way.'
'A grand idea,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'But what if the sea is closed today?
And what if the sand's been blown away?'
'A dreadful thought,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'I've always feared the ocean's spray,
And we may drown!' 'It's true, we may.
It chills my blood,' said General Clay.
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'My bathing suit is slightly tore.
We'd better go on with our war.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Then General Clay charged General Gore
As bullets flew and cannons roared.
And now, alas! there is no more
Of General Clay or General Gore.

Clay Woman
Clay woman, baked too long
Stone cold, deep red, stand
Clay woman, heat too high,
Brittle with the remnant demand
Too long in the kiln
Not set at bake but sear
Scorched beauty remains,
But not a breath be near
Can't breathe too hard,
Clay woman may turn to dust
Can't look too long
For clay woman may combust,
And above all else,
Do not touch her heart,
Her back will break,
Her wounds will smart,
Clay woman, baked too long
All hope and joy abstains,
Clay woman, heat too high
Can my tears salvage my remains?

In Memory Of My Mother
I do not think of you lying in the wet clay
Of a Monaghan graveyard; I see
You walking down a lane among the poplars
On your way to the station, or happily
Going to second Mass on a summer Sunday -
You meet me and you say:
'Don't forget to see about the cattle - '
Among your earthiest words the angels stray.
And I think of you walking along a headland
Of green oats in June,
So full of repose, so rich with life -
And I see us meeting at the end of a town
On a fair day by accident, after
The bargains are all made and we can walk
Together through the shops and stalls and markets
Free in the oriental streets of thought.
O you are not lying in the wet clay,
For it is a harvest evening now and we
Are piling up the ricks against the moonlight
And you smile up at us - eternally.

Be clay
Don’t be half-hearted about this –
be clay.
You know all about clay –
be clay.
Humble, submissive, reverent –
awaiting the Potter’s hands.
Enjoy that humility, that surrender –
feel already so near God.
Now the wheel begins to turn –
the Potter is here!
Feel His hands – the more you feel them,
the more you know the love in them.
Now you’re being shaped:
turned on the wheel like a dervish turns,
you’re becoming like that tall column of stillness,
rising from the centre of the whirling skirt;
still; in the memory of the Potter’s hands;
you recognise yourself who waited for you.

Sun
The sun is a woman made of clay.
She stands above the mountain- tops
Against a red velvet sky at dawn.
Her skin tone, earthy-hued, radiates from afar.
Though chipped around the edges, she is still my friend.
Nothing or no one can be flawless;
Her smile is crooked, but sweet,
And her eyes, when wide open, are always filled with awe, wonder and surprise,
A woman molded from clay
Has skin tone- mahogany hued.
Chipped around the edges,
She is rugged, forever fighting through dense fog at dawn.
When days and nights are dreary,
I cast my eyes about the sky
I search for the sun, that awesome woman, made of clay
Her warm earth tones are calming
And the joy that she exudes is always comforting.
It is when the full moon rises that I lose my grounds,
And hear spoken words that others do not hear.
Sometimes- I see horrific sights that others do not see.
While the white of the moon is stark,
The sun’s earth tones are not garish.
I wander outward, daily,
And search for this clay-toned woman
Who is called “The Sun”
She smiles her crooked smile at me,
In thanks that I am her worshipper.
Forever, my friend, the sun will not be as fickle as the moon,
Waxing and waning past midnight
Bringing out in me thoughts that are not truly real.
In the darkness, I run from all.
I live in fear.
I live in fear,
But when the sun looks down upon me with her loving eyes,
And when that same crooked smile appears upon her face-
I am so enticed with her pulchritude-
Those disturbing thoughts are just whisked away
Within the early April morning’s breeze.

of clay oh light

Someday
(darrell scott)
I am grounded
But I have wings to fly
I just dont use them
I just look up in the sky
And keep em hidden
Bound up in a coat and tie
til the world is ready for a man with wings to fly
But I will fly someday
Ill break these feet of clay
Then Ill be on my way
My way
I am feeling
Though I do not shed a tear
My eyes are dusty
Though I have faced my fear of fears
I am shaken by the coming on of the years
I am a feeling man but I cannot shed a tear
But I will cry someday
Ill break these eyes of clay
Then Ill be on my way, my way
Someday
Oh someday
I am loving
Though I make my bed alone
Ive had lovers
But I have no one of my own
But I could feed her
From the garden I have grown
I am a loving man though I make my bed alone
But I will love someday
I will break this heart of clay
Then Ill be on my way, my way
Someday
On my way, someday
Im gonna love someday

For I Am The Way
for i am the way
burn all effigies of clay
walk on water today
for i am the way
for i am the way
today i turn my blood to sweetest wine
a holy sign imbued with the divine
today's the day the gods walk out on me
the great divide is crossed for you by me
for i am the way
burn all effigies of clay
walk on water today
for i am the way
for i am the way
today the silent one does have her say
today all contradictions seemed ok
today's the day that i become the sky
a silent understanding, my, oh my..
for i am the way
burn all effigies of clay
walk on water today
for i am the way
for i am the way
today, for once, i'm not the last to learn
today the only bridge i have, i burn
today's the day the gods walk out on me
the great divide is crossed for you by me
for i am the way
for i am the way
for i am the way
for i am the way.

A Child Like Clay
A child like clay is pliable
Guidance molds him with each day
With right values, he grows up able
To live his life and not go astray.
A child like clay adapts the form
He bends and follows as one leads
To what is true he will conform
Absorbing the wisdom that he needs.
A child like clay when left alone
Hardens up warped and marred,
To doing wrong he is always prone,
His life is a mess, he ends up scarred.
A child like clay when hardened wrong
Will need a thorough brokenness
A crushing from which he will be strong
A new creation, born from forgiveness
-
'Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path,
he who hates correction will die.'
Proverbs 15: 10

Revolution clay/clay metamorphosis
clayed live performance
dissolving into realities of clayness
tranformations of forms
alchemist's transformations of performances as forms
revolution clay/clay metamorphosis
clayed revolution blue
texture of clay-history
composed speed-logic of the uncreative urban legends
speed-logic of rich soil
questions and?
clayed lives.
Apollonius Of Tyana In Rhodes
Apollonius was talking about
proper education and conduct with a young
man who was building a luxurious
house in Rhodes. "As for me" said the Tyanian
at last, "when I enter a temple
however small it may be, I very much prefer
to see a statue of ivory and gold
than a clay and vulgar one in a large temple".--
The "clay" and "vulgar"; the detestable:
that already some people (without enough training)
it deceives knavishly. The clay and vulgar.

Pot
What hand
turned the wheel
threw this pot
shaped the clay?
What eyes
noticed it first
upon the shelf
picked it up?
What heart
fondled the bow
cherished the thought
embraced the gift?
What lives
put it to use
poured the wine
savored the moment?
What hand
moved in anger
threw this pot
shattered the clay?

Three Eternities
Lo, thou and I, my love,
And the sad stars above,-
Thou and I, I and thou!
Ah could we lie as now
Ever and aye, my love,
Hand within hand, my love,
Heart within heart, my dove,
Through night and day
For ever!
Lo, thou and I, my love,
Up in the sky above,
Where the sun makes his home
And the gods are, my love,
One day may wander from
Star unto star, my love,-
Soul within soul, my love,
Yonder afar
For ever!
Lo, thou and I, my love,
Some time shall lie, my love,
Knowing not night from day,
Knowing not toil from rest,-
Breast unto breast, my love,
Even as now for aye:
Clay within clay, my love,
Clay within clay
For ever!

Mr. Sheets
The Devil stood before the gate
Of Heaven. He had a single mate:
Behind him, in his shadow, slunk
Clay Sheets in a perspiring funk.
'Saint Peter, see this season ticket,'
Said Satan; 'pray undo the wicket.'
The sleepy Saint threw slight regard
Upon the proffered bit of card,
Signed by some clerical dead-beats:
'Admit the bearer and Clay Sheets.'
Peter expanded all his eyes:
''Clay Sheets?'-well, I'll be damned!' he cries.
'Our couches are of golden cloud;
Nothing of earth is here allowed.
I'll let you in,' he added, shedding
On Nick a smile-'but not your bedding.'

What Am I Worth
(arthur smith)
When I do things my way for pride or for show
Deep down within me I know, yes I know
When I hurt others with things I say or do
With remorse my voice calls out to you
Its me lord, Im asking what Im worth?
Just a man made from clay to return to the earth
Through shame I hear you whisper you may walk through down in hell
But faith can still move mountains amazing grace has never failed
When I want to do right I do wrong anyway
But jesus, I love you always, yes always
You made it alone on calvery and you hold my hand
Alone I cant make it but with you, I can
Its me lord, Im asking what Im worth?
Just a man made from clay to return to the earth
Through shame I hear you whisper you may walk through down in hell
But faith can still move mountains amazing grace has never failed

Georgia Rain
1st Verse
Barefoot in the bed 'a your truck
On a blanket lookin' up
Half a moon peekin' down at us
From underneath the clouds
Teenage kids sneakin' out again
Heard the thunder rollin' in
We were fallin' the moment when
It all came pourin' down
1st Chorus
The Georgia rain
On the Jasper County clay
Couldn't wash away
What I felt for you that day
Just you and me down an old dirt road
Nothin' in our way
Except for the Georgia rain
2nd Verse
Cotton fields remember when
Flash 'a lightnin' drove us in
We were soaked down to the skin
By the time we climbed inside
And I don't remember what was poundin' more
Heart in my chest or the hood of that Ford
As the sky fell in, the storm clouds poured
Worlds away outside
2nd Chorus
The Georgia rain
On the Jasper County clay
Couldn't wash away
All the love we made
Just you and me down that old dirt road
No one saw a thing
Except for the Georgia rain
3rd Verse
Screen door flappin' in the wind
Same ol' house I grew up in
Can't believe I'm back again
After all these years away
You fixed your Daddy's house up nice
I saw it yesterday when I drove by
Looks like you've made yourself a real good life
What else can I say
Tag Chorus
The Georgia rain
On the Jasper County clay
Couldn't wash away
The way I loved you to this day
The ol' dirt road's paved over now
Nothin' here's the same
Except for the Georgia rain
