Here's To The Man
Here's to the man
Here's to the king
He taught the singers how to sing
When he sang of love
He seem to know and any place he'd sing aobut
I wanna go
Here's to the man
He stands alone
Here's to the songs I never have known
Here's to you who wrote the book from your biggest fan
Here's to old blue eyes, no need for goodbye's
This one's for you
Here's to the man

A Happy Song...
Sing me no sad songs cause my hearts
been broken too many times and I've cried
myself asleep too many nights.
Sing me no sad songs cause they bring
back all the hurt and all the memories that
I'm tryin' to forget.
Sing me no sad songs cause I'm feelin'
low and those songs just keep me down.
They keep me from smiling or seein' the sun.
Sing me no sad songs, cause I'm tryin' to
raise myself up and lookin' for a feel
good song and a feel good smile.
Sing me no sad songs cause they chase away
all the stuff that's good in life. Those sad songs...
they always make my brown eyes blue and lock
the door on love and such.
Baby...sing me no sad songs, just hold me and
sing softly...the songs of love and the songs of hope.
If I live to be a hundred I never want to hear those
bad feelin' sad songs again.

Sing to Me Your Love Songs
Sing to me your love songs.
And I will sing to you,
No blues of those experiences...
I've seen and have lived through.
Sing to me those love songs sung,
And I will sing to you...
Of a love I knew.
With no lasting harmony,
Starting in the beginning when it begun.
I wish, I do...
Since meeting you,
I could begin with a freshness...
Clear of heartbreak,
That seemed to pain as it grew.
I wish, I do...
I could be free,
Of long lasting memories.
That come to haunt...
As in pursuit,
To destroy me emotionally.
Sing!
Sing to me your love songs.
And I'll sing to you...
Of no sorrows I knew.
Sing!
Sing to me of those love songs...
I've been needing desperately.
Don't stop if from eyes tears drop.
This may be the start...
Of pushing old pains kept away.
Sing to me your love songs sweet...
I feel a presence,
Of something wanted I need to stay!

From A Distance
From a distance, the world looks blue and green,
And the snow capped mountains so white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
And the eagle takes to flight.
From a distance, there is harmony
And it echoes through the land.
Its the voice of hope, its the voice of peace,
Its the voice of every man.
From a distance, we all have enough,
And no-one is in need.
There are no guns, no bombs and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed.
For a moment we must be instruments,
Martching in a common band,
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace,
Theyre is the songs of every one.
God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us, from a distance.
From a distance, you look like my friend,
Even though we are at war.
From a distance, I cant comprehend,
What all this war is for.
What we need is love and harmony,
Let it echo through the land.
Its the hope of hopes, its the love of loves,
Its the heart of everyone.
Its the hope of hopes, its the love of loves,
Its the song of everyone.
Sing out, songs of hope,
Sing out, songs of freedom,
Sing out, songs of love,
Sing out, songs of peace,
Sing out, songs of justice,
Sing out, songs of harmony,
Sing out, songs of love,
Sing out, everyone,
Sing out, songs of hope,
Sing out, songs of freedom,
Sing out, songs of love,
Sing out, songs of peace,
Sing out, songs of justice,
Sing out, songs in harmony,
Sing out, sing about love,
Sing out, everyone.
Sing out.

This Poem is Dedicated to Karen Carpenter....Nightengale of Our Times
She was an icon in her own time
She sang like a nightingale
With the sweetest of sounds
As it cascaded through the air
Her voice was more than anyone could say
She made you cry and laugh
As she sang her songs of old
The tunes and the melodies
That made me sing and dance
From one end of the house
To the other, singing, dancing
She inspired me to dance
She inspired me to sing
And her brother that wrote
The songs she sang
Inspired me to write
The rhymes and words
That I love so well
They worked as a team
They grew from strength to strength
And inspired so many to aspire
To be just like them

Sing Me Back Home
The warden led the prisoner down the hallway to his doom
I stood up to say goodbye like all the rest
And I heard him tell the warden just before they reached my cell
Let my guitar playin' friend fill my request
Let him sing me back home a song I used to hear. Make my old memories come alive.
Sing me away and turn back the year. Sing me home before I die.
I recall last Sunday morning when the choir from off the street
Came in to sing a few old gospel songs
And I heard him tell the singers there's a song my mother sang
Can I hear it before you travel on.
Sing me back home a song I used to hear. Make my old memories come alive.
Sing me away and turn back the year. Sing me back home before I die

I thought our song was this..
A picture frame Hangs on a wall And I'm surprised I even noticed it at all The years have warped the frame A crack runs through the paint It’s begun to fade But the pictures still the same If you look close enough you’ll know
Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song
Now I stare At an empty room But memories Give my soul a different view Of all the lives you touched You taught me so much Now angles lift you up To a place you loved so much And you’ll be welcome there
I know
Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song
This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye
Well I don’t know What I believe All I knowsoul a different view Of all the lives you touched You taught me so much Now angles lift you up To a place you loved so much And you’ll be welcome there
I know
Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song
This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye
Well I don’t know What I believe All I know Is that there more to it than me Its time for you to go To say goodbye I know I cross my T’s real slow I close my eyes If you look close enough you’ll know
Sing me your song I’ll sing my song You had to go You know you’re my hero Time keeps marching on This is our song
This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye This is our sad goodbye (this is our sad goodbye) But it’s not a bad goodbye
This is the lyrics to Our Song By Goodnight Nurse.
I thought this could be our song, But you lied to me hurt me in everyway
why didnt you tell me you said you didnt want to loose me but you
wouldnt of. Do you think I'm that easy to get ride of? Babe I love you
but you need more trust in me. The thought of you with another girl kills
me you think its funny when you talk to me about them or I see you
look. Tell me could this be are song or my orst nightmare?
I thought this could be our song, But you lied to me hurt me in everyway
why didnt you tell me you said you didnt want to loose me but you
wouldnt of. Do you think I'm that easy to get ride of? Babe I love you
but you need more trust in me. The thought of you with another girl kills
me you think its funny when you talk to me about them or I see you
look. Tell me could this be are song or my worst nightmare?

A Song Of Singing
Sing! gangling lad, along the brink
Of wild brook-ways of shoal and deep,
Where killdees dip, and cattle drink,
And glinting little minnows leap!
Sing! slimpsy lass who trips above
And sets the foot-log quivering!
Sing! bittern, bumble-bee, and dove--
Sing! Sing! Sing!
Sing as you will, O singers all
Who sing because you _want_ to sing!
Sing! peacock on the orchard wall,
Or tree-toad by the trickling spring!
Sing! every bird on every bough--
Sing! every living, loving thing--
Sing any song, and anyhow,
But Sing! Sing! Sing!

My Cousin In Milwaukee
Once I visited my cousin, in milwaukee, usa
She got boyfriends by the dozen, when she sang in a lowdown way
She was a positive sensation
The songs that she sang would never miss
My cousin was my inspiration
Thats how I got like this
I got a cousin in milwaukee
Shes got a voice so squawky
And though shes tall and kind of gawky
Oh, how she gets the men
Her singing isnt operatic
Its got a lot of static
What makes your heart get acrobatic
Nine times out of ten
When she sings hot, you cant be solemn
It sends the shivers up and down your spinal column
When she sings blue, the men shout, what stuff!
That baby is hot stuff
So if you like the way I sing songs,
If you think that Im a wow
You can thank my squawky cousin from milwaukee
Because she taught me how
(instrumental bridge)
When she sings hot, you cant be solemn
It sends the shivers up and down your spinal column
When she sings blue, the men shout, what stuff!
That baby is hot stuff
So if you like the way I sing songs,
If you think that Im a wow
You can thank my squawky cousin from milwaukee
Because she taught me how

Sing
I wrote a love song but i cant sing
Drift away hanging from rope swing
The afternoon sun breaks through the leaves
Knowing what i know now nothings what is seems
So peaceful here everything is still
Can i capture and bottle this moment
And release it when needed release at my will
Why cant everyone have a place like this
A place to dream a place to reminisce
So as i swing in my swing
There is nobody around should i dare to sing
If only i had someone to sing too
I will sing to the birds and the trees
They wont know if is good or bad as i do
So i lay back an sing
I sing about everything
I Write The Songs
Ive been alive forever,
And I wrote the very first song.
I put the words and the melodies together,
I am music,
And I write the songs.
I write the songs that make the whole world sing.
I write the songs of love and special thing s.
I write the songs that make the young girls cry.
I write the songs, I write the songs.
My home lies deep within you,
And Ive got my own place in your sole.
Now, when I look out through your eyes,
Im youg again, even though Im very old.
Chorus
Oh my music makes you dance
And gives your spirit to take a chance,
And I wrote some rock n roll so you can move.
Music fills your heart,
Well, thats a real fine place to start.
Its from me its for you,
Its from you, its from me,
Its a world wide symphony.
Chorus
I am music, and I write the songs.

Sweet Mama Blue
Written by orbison/melson.
I know a place in new orleans.
They call the castle of kings and queens.
Where an old sweet black woman sings.
And plays piano like a dream.
She puts out all her beautiful heart and soul for you.
Sweet mamma blue.
Sweet mamma blue will only sing about the truth.
And it will get to you.
Sweet mamma blue will sing of love as only she can do.
Sweet mamma blue.sweet mamma blue
One night I stayed past closing time.
Sweet mamma blue my troubled mind.
She sang the night away for me.
She made me see what I couldnt see.
That only by loving life will all your dreams come true.
Sweet mamma blue.
Sweet mamma blue will only sing about the truth.
And it will get to you.
Sweet mamma blue will sing of love as only she can do.
Sweet mamma blue.sweet mamma blue.
They say shes gone from misery.
But she still lives in my memory.
I still can see her smile and say
Ill bet you make it all the way.
If you will try the lord will surely see you through
.
Sweet mamma blue,
The world sure will miss you.
And when I feel blue I think of you.
Sweet mamma blue.sweet mamma blue.

Billy Breathes
Tumbling greens, a pick-up screams alone above the square
Whoa, sing softly
Above the trees where billy breathes we float upon the air
Whoa, oh
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs
Ooooh ooooh
Silent scenes in motion means, Ill wake you when were there
Whoa, sing softly
Time, it seems, in broken dreams, to sleep beside the stair
Whoa, oh
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs
Ooooh ooooh
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs
Softly sing sweet songs

Hymn To Love
If the sky should fall into the sea
And the stars fade all around me
All the times that we have known here
I will sing a hymn to love
We have lived and dreamed we two alone
In a world that's been our very own
With it's memories ever grateful
Just for you I sing a hymn to love
I remember each embrace
The smile that lights your face
And my heart begins to sing
Your eyes have never lied
And my heart begins to sing
And my heart begins to sing
If one day you should ever disappear
Always remember these words
If one day we had to say goodbye
And our love should fade away and die
In my heart you will remain here
And I'II sing a hymn to love
O for love, we live eternally
In the blue we'll roll this harmony
With every day we are in heaven
As for you, I'll sing a hymn to love
Don't you ever worry, dear
And the stars shall fade from the sky
All the times that we have known here
I will sing a hymn to our love
Oh darling,
Just for you I sing
A hymn to love

Now You're Here (Rock Ballad) :
Now you're here, we're ready to play.
Ready to play for you..
And now you're here, we're ready to sing.
Ready to sing for you..
We are the players, the singers.
We play for your town.
We keep you rockin', a rollin', a movin' around.
We get you movin', a groovin'..Yaahh! feelin' real fine.
We get you screamin', a shoutin'..
We get your hands in the air..
We are the players, the singers.
We play for your town.
We keep you rockin', a rollin', a movin' around.
We are the players, the singers.
And we bring on the sound..
So now you're here, we're ready to play.
Ready to play for you.
And now you're here, we're ready to sing.
Ready to sing for you..
We are the players, the singers.
We play for your town.
We keep you rockin', a rollin', a movin' around.
We get you swingin', a swayin', so join in the crowd.
We get you spinnin', a grinnin', a turnin' around.
We are the players, the singers.
And we play for your town.
So now you've stayed, you've listened to us.
We're so glad we played for you.
And now you've stayed, you've listened to us.
We're so glad we sang this tune..
We're so glad we sang this tune..

Sing My Love
Sing to me my little flower
Sing me the songs of tenderness and love
Sing to me as you stare
Into this intricate and beautiful creation
Alone yet not alone
Comforted by the silent tingle of love
Flowing through my immensely proud hands
Sing to me my precious flower
Sing though you have yet to grasps the art of speaking
Sing to me my love
For soon I shall retire
Sing to me my precious flower
Sing me the songs of tenderness and love

Love Out Loud
I like this room
Lts got me
Dancin down and dirty on my knees
Get lit up
Tell those lies
Wicked enough to melt your ice
I can see baby
Touch on me
I can see most any possibility
Got to do it. got to use all my love
Too much is never enough
Youve got to sing out
Youve got to sing out
Youve got to sing out
Sing out sing out
Chorus:
Love out loud
Tell me what you wanna do
Love out loud
Youve got to love out loud
Dont look down
Tell me what you wanna do
Love out loud
Got no time
Time to choose
Wait a second now youre gonna loose the mood
Got to do it
Got to use all your love
Too much is never enough
Youve got to sing out
Youve got to sing out
Youve got to sing out
Sing out sing out
Chorus:
Love out loud
Tell me what you wanna do
Love out loud
Youve got to love out loud
Dont look down
Tell me what you wanna do
Love out loud

Only You (Can Make My Heart Sing)
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Wasting ‘way days of the past
Wonderin’ where my life would go
So I worried ‘bout tomorrow
In a world so ready to blow
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Use to write songs for the deaf
Songs about my pain and strife
Songs of hate and of confusion
Living death while thinking it life
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Then you’re holy spirit within me
Taught me truth of today
And what your lovin’ means and why I am here
I’m to serve you with all of my heart with all of my mind through your spirit dear
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Now is the time I contend with
Writing every song for you
Praising you for all you have given
Believing in your word of truth
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Only you, only you
Only you, only you can make my heart sing
Only you can make my heart sing
Yes, only you can make my heart sing
