Childless With Child
You, doe eyed, those lashes
Hand grabbing them up
Like a miner's gold dust
Scratched up little red car
And plastic soldier man, no arm
Maybe yesterday's casualty of war
Them all jumbled up clutched,
In your stubby sweaty little hand,
And in the other,
with a tiny might, clenching
Oreo, with trail of cookie crumblings
You, untainted child, invest well
A shiny squirming dime spent
For infinite imagination
And then it always grips me,
like a twice licked stamp-stuck
The curiousity of it, if I'd a you
Meanwhile my time
your gobbled candy
You've Camelot with toy Indian
blue truck, Infinity
Layed out on a tabletop
Your busy-body curling fingers
You, child God
Ruler of little worlds of make believe
These cotton candy days
Eat slowly, then 20 years
And you will be, and I will be gone
I just hope, whatever your forever
You never grow up so much
You lose the little.

I Want Candy
I know a girl who's tough but sweet
She's so fine she can't be beat
Shes got everything that I desire
she sets the summer sun on fire
Chorus:
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
Goin' to see her when the sun goes down
There ain't no finer girl in town
You're my girl, You're what the doctor ordered
A treat so sweet ya make my mouth water
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
Candy on the beach, there's nothing better
But I like candy when it's wrapped in leather
Someday soon I'll make her mine
And then I'll have Candy all the time
I said..I said...
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy
I want Candy

A Penny Candy Store
Walking by an old abandoned building
That once housed a penny candy store,
I envisioned all the wide-eyed children
As they gazed at the display of candy galore.
I was saddened by the closure,
And it took me back to the days of yore
When I, too, was spending my pennies
At the neighborhood's penny candy store.
As a youngster, I stared in disbelief
At all the candy unsurpassed
And often rubbed my fingers unconsciously on
The counter top of highly polished glass.
At the proprietor's helpful suggestion
I would only remain silent and gape.
The variety of candy caused me to be uncertain
As to what penny candy I would take.
What a thrill to have a penny in my hand?
It is a feeling that I still cherish today.
I was able to go to the penny candy store
To select and buy candy my own way.
Though I may still be indecisive at times
While viewing the niceties by the score,
The thoughts of time tried candy still remain
From the old, neighborhood candy store.

Cotton Candy Land
(words & music by ruth batchelor - bob roberts)
Sandmans comin, yes hes comin
To sprinkle you with sand
Hell say one, two, three
And youll be, in cotton candy land
Sandmans comin, yes hes comin
Hell take you, by the hand
And youll ride upon, a big white swan
In cotton candy land
You and the swan will float upon
A cloud of pink ice cream
Where every star is a candy bar
And the moon is a marshmallow dream
Sandmans comin, yes hes comin
Take his magic hand
Now goodnight...now sleep tight
In cotton candy land
In cotton candy land...

Candy Man
(fred neil/beverley ross)
Come on baby, let me take you by the hand
Come on sugar, let me take you by the hand
Go for me, let me be,
All your own candy, your candy, candy man
Come on baby, I love your honey lovin ways
Baby sweet thing, I love your honey lovin, your honey lovin ways
Come to me, let me be
All your own candy, your candy, candy man
Come on woman, gonna treat you right
Give you candy kisses every single night
Candy man, candy man, candy man, candy man,
Go for me, let me be
All your own candy, your candy, candy man.

So Like Candy
So Like Candy
Here lies the powder and perfume
The pretty clothes are scattered 'round the room
And it's so like Candy
Here lies the lipstick and the face
The colored tablets keep it all in place
And it's so like Candy
So like Candy
What did I do
To make her go
Why must she be the one
That I have to love so
So like Candy
Here lies a picture of a girl
Her arms are tight around that lucky guy
And it's so like Candy
And in her eyes a certain look
I thought I'd seen the last of long ago
And it's so like Candy
So like Candy
What did I do
To make her go
Why must she be the one
That I have to love so
I remember the day that picture was taken
We were so happy then
But that's so like Candy
She seemed so sweet to me
I was mistaken
Oh no not that again
But that's so like Candy
She just can't face the day
So she turns and melts away
Here lie the records that she scratched
And on the sleeve I find a note attached
And it's so like Candy

Candy candy not so good
Candy candy not so good,
Ouch my teeth hurt,
Candy candy not so good.
Candy candy stuck in my teeth!
Mm..
That lovely taste..
It's just so sweet! !
My mum always tells me 'candy candy not so good, it will hurt your teeth UNDERSTOOD! '
I want candy,
I want to eat,
I don't care what anyone says,
know that candy is the best.
Ouch! Ouch!
Mummy was right!
Because of candy I can't even bite.
Candy candy not so good,
Just remember to brush your teeth because..
Candy candy is not so good..
For your teeth.

Glass Candy
Glass candy
Transparent
Pink, blue, green, orange
Any color.
Glass candy
Inedible
Invisible
To most.
Glass candy
Shiny
New
Kind of rare, right?
Glass candy
This poem is nonsense
But at least it makes a point
About glass candy.

Candy-o
Candy-o, I need you
Sunday dress, ruby ring
Candy-o, I need you so
Could you help me in?
Purple hum, assorted cards
Razor lights youll bring
And all to prove youre on the move
And vanishing
Candy-o, I need you so
Candy-o, I need you so
Edge of night, distract yourself
Obstacles dont work
Homogenize
Decentralize
Its just a quirk
Different ways to see you through
All the same in the end
Peculiar star, a-thats who you are
Do you have to win?
Candy-o, I need you so
Candy-o, I need you so
Candy-o, I need you so
(candy-o)
Candy-o, I need you so
(candy-o)

Candy
Candy
Its a rainy afternoon
In 1990
The big city geez its been 20 years-
Candy-you were so fine
Beautiful beautiful
Girl from the north
You burned my heart
With a flickering torch
I had a dream that no one else could see
You gave me love for free
Candy, candy , candy I cant let you go
All my life youre haunting me
I loved you so
Candy, candy , candy I cant let you go
Life is crazy
Candy baby
Yeah, well it hurt me real bad when you left
Im glad you got out
But I miss you
Ive had a hole in my heart
For so long
Ive learned to fake it and
Just smile along
Down on the street
Those men are all the same
I need a love
Not games
Not games
Candy, candy, candy I cant let you go
All my life youre haunting me
I loved you so
Candy, candy , candy I cant let you go
Life is crazy
I know baby
Candy baby
Uou uou uou
Candy, candy, candy I cant let you go
All my life youre haunting me
I loved you so
Candy candy candy
Life is crazy
Candy baby
Candy baby,
Candy, candy

Her Candy Cotton Kiss
Her candy cotton kiss
Her taste so warm and wet
Her cotton candy lips
I'll never them forget
Her cotton candy kiss
Sends shivers down my spine
I tremble at her touch
With love and grace divine

A child stuck in time
To sleep
to toss and turn
hoping not to dream tonight
in the grips of horrible nighmares
wishing not to see your
face
I'M a child stuck in time
I'm a child bleeding and
crying on the floor after
your done with me
I'm a child wishing for
you to stop hurting me
I'm a child stuck in time
I'm a child that doesnt
laugh only cries and
jumps at any physical touch
I'm a child who only
dreams of your face
I'm a child who thinks every
man is like you good or bad
I'm a child who doesnt believe in God
I'm a child stuck in time

One Last Time Of Summer
Looking for a parking spot
One last time
The boardwalks wait
One last time
The smell emanates
One last time
A child screams
One last time
The cotton candy spins
One last time
The crunch of a candy apple
One last time
Step right up
One last time
A video game
One last time
Miniature golf
One last time
A slice of pizza
One last time
An ice cream cone
One last time
A belly ache
One last time
Asleep in the car
One last time

Candy Land
It always starts out simple,
maybe something sweet.
Just a little candy, no harm
at all.
Then comes the constent need.
The need for more and more.
After a little it starts to become
an obsession, the need for it so
bad you'll do anything.
And thats when it happens,
you meet him, the man from
Candy Land. He always has
candy and he's always so nice.
You ask him and he says ok,
lets drive off to Candy Land.
You get in with him and buckle up,
just like a good little child.
After that you see him smile and
he gives you a lolipop. You smile
and take it, the last words you say
are thanks mister.
And thats the last thing you ever say,
the next place your seen is six feet
under and the Candy Man got your
candy. Is that what you wanted, is that
how it was supposed to end?
With your mother standing over you and
weeping. I bet it wasn't...

Cotton Candy Clouds
Big billowy clouds float by,
Like so much cotton candy.
Gently floating through the sky,
Just as pretty, as they can be.
Some are grey, some are white,
The tops extend forever.
Cotton candy in the heights,
Pursuing their endeavors.

The Candy Man
Come my child,
Come & play for a while.
I have candy & sweets for you,
If you’re a good boy I’ll give you cakes too.
Eat, eat as much as you like.
Don’t worry about anything my little tyke.
For tonight we shall eat & eat,
And have us a great little feast.
Of food beyond your wildest dreams,
Just stay here with me, for all as it seems.
And stay, stay just for a while.
So says the little candy man,
Watch for the little candy man.
For he may eat you, in a stew, or a can,
Or he’ll eat you alive in a frying pan.
Come, come my child,
Come & play for a while.
As I sharpen my forks & knifes,
I am so lonely for you see, little child I have no wives.
So you keep me company in my great little feast,
All I’ll need is little more salt & a little yeast.
First I’ll cut you up & drink your blood,
Skin you nice & throw it in the mud.
There you go in the oven to bake,
As I watch your dead little eyes still awake.
Come, come my child, & play for a while.
So says the little candy man,
Watch for the little candy man.
For he may eat you, in a stew, or a can,
Or he’ll eat you alive in a frying pan.

Candy
Daughter of a woman who comes and goes
Candy
Daughter of a man she barely knows
Candy
All grown up about the things
People know to do
How to take a love and tear it in two
No no no that isnt how its gonna be
For candy
She wants to be in love
But she doesnt know why
Candy
You think shes a child
Look at her now
My my candy
Step by step this is her debut
Looking for love thats made to stay true
Step by step she looking for more than I see
Candy
Candy
You know what your love is worth
Its a good thing baby
Candy
If youre looking for a real love
Its a ghost town
Candy
Step by step this is her debut
Looking for love thats made to stay true
Step by step she looking for more than I see

Angel
I call you up
You pick up
You call my bluff
On the card of love
You hold too close
Your hands to your chest
I cant read your eyes
But I confess
Its lonely far from you, oh
Even when youre right by me
Its only why I wait for you
To take my hand
Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I come after you like I do, I love you?
Wherever you are
I swear
Youll be my angel
You
I play my cards the best I can
But I lose my luck when youre not here
My darling heart
Wont you please give in?
I may be strong
But I want you back again
When youre not here its hard to pretend
Its all alright again
When youre not here love its hard to pretend
Its all alright but still
Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I run after you like I do, I love you?
Whatever you are
I swear
You be my angel, you
Watch the deck
Count your cards
Makes no sense
That Im always losing
When youre gone
Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I come after you like I do, I love you
Whatever you are
I swear
Youll be my angel, you
When youre gone

Candy Coated Dream
Such bitter sweetness falls within a candy coated dream
the place where hope extends beyond the sugar coated scheme
as we dance and dance, around the candy cane sticks
Prancing hand in hand, as we come to one we both lick
Love blooms as we meet in a kiss, like in Lady and the Tramp
Our candy kingdom ruled by two, as the umpa lumpa's dance
We walk through the land, and gaze forever into each other's eyes
And then climb the steps to ride down the milk chocalatey slide
Landing in a pool of such wonderfully pure sweetness
We embrace in a hug, that like the chocolate, is made of pure greatness
As I watch you get out of the pool covered in chocolate like a 100 Grand
Looking like my favorite candy, which melts in my mouth, not in my hand
We laid together on the ground like a twizler all rolled up in one
Both nibbling at each other, until our hearts both became undone
Forever to this day I will declare you my lollipop queen
Such beautiful sweetness falls inside a candy coated dream
