Changing masks of myriad subtleties today
In the colorful worlds we all live in
Spiral bounds to its many turning way
Head to head in tomorrow's coming spin
Waves from the sky through emotions of song
To follow your spirits from cloud to cloud
Dreams of your golden thrust spinning headlong
From concrete forests and to the street crowd
Opportunities of living color turn
Jesters of every man's inside juggling
Desiring shades that come to mind and burn
From their work about distances and struggling
Masks like transparent ornamentation

Sick in the head

Our Masks
We all wear masks to hide
our feelings from fleeing outside.
Sadness from years gone by
are masked with jubilant joy,
heartaches that we feel inside
are masked with a smile.
We mask all the emotions
we don’t want the world to see
we hide them behind
the opposite emotion
of that we really feel
in hoping they will help.
Every emotion has an opposite
and it is these we hide behind.
When our troubles

Shes closing all the shades

Life of a Cloud
Warming thermals whisper as they rise,
To tell us they are soon to bring to view
In cooler air aloft before your eyes:
A gentle wisp to counterpoint the blue.
Powder puffs emerge to grant her grace
That further bloom as would for stately tree, and
Yield a sight that calls for our embrace:
Another cloud anew above the lea.
Cruising forth, she yearns for ageless life.
O how her hopes will soon be dashed in vain,
For up there in the cold she courts her strife,
To fade away as drops of closing rain.
Scant and lacy speak her living span,
And fair among us could be brought to mourn,
But she was there to populate her clan:
