Canticle for My Son

The dog barks and the cat mews,
The moon comes out in the sky,
The birds are mostly settled.
I envy your twelve hours
Of uninterrupted dreaming.

I take your small palms in mine
And don't know what
To do with them. Beware, my son,
Of those old clear-headed women

Who never miss a funeral.

The Patteran

From over the leagues of ice and snow, and the miles of scorching sand;
From back of the days of long ago, and the lonely sea and land—
To the end of the world and our Gipsy race, to the death of our dark-eyed line,
I have set the lines on my children’s palms as my fathers did on mine,
That the world shall know and my name shall glow in the light of the aftershine—
I have set the lines on my children’s palms as my fathers did on mine.
I have given them health and strength, pure blood, clear skins for a glorious youth;
I have set in their souls contempt for sham, and a deathless regard for truth;
I have bequeathed the spirit to fight, I have given the will to rise,
And the slumbering fires of Hate and Love in their dreaming, dreaming eyes.
That the world shall know and my name shall glow in the light of the aftershine,
I have set the lines on my children’s palms as my fathers did on mine.

I have given the love for their native land, wherever that land may be
(My children came from the East, my friends, and round by the Northern Sea),
And a son of a son of mine enemy, to the end of his treacherous line,
Shall be stricken to earth, if he dare but speak, by a son of a son of mine.
That the world shall know and my name shall glow in the light of the aftershine,
I have set the lines on my children’s palms as my fathers did on mine.

The Mistake

it was a different thing that you see
from that you feel
a war between the bulge of the eyes
and the pumps of the heart
the lines of the palms are clear
nobody wants to mind now
in the middle of too much desire
it is the heart that wins
slashing the blinks of the wondering eyes
the lines of the palms are clear
there is no doubt
the heart bleeds upon its mistake
and begins to remember the veils
and the sonorous sounds of the funeral bells of
the little town

the lines of the palms are clear
there is no doubt about it
at the end every part shall accept the fate
no regret
once again the self rides upon the wings of destiny
until the final word of the years rest

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN 2...by talile ali

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
THE STUFF THEY HAVE TO GO THRU

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
HOW COULD REALITY BE SO CRUEL

I GOT A FRIEND
CUTE AS HELL
I'LL LOVE HER TILL THE BITTER END

BEEN RAPED SO MUCH
LOOKED TO GOOD TO TOUCH
MESSED UP PRICE FOR A PRETTY FACE, MY FRIEND

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
THE SHIT THEY HAVE TO GO THRU HURTS SO MUCH

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
HOW COULD REALITY BE SO CRUEL AND TRUE

I HAVE ANOTHER FRIEND
ALL OVER THE PLACE
AS IF SHE LOST HER MIND

WITH HEAVY FLOWS
AND HORMONE WOES
IT'S A MIRACLE SHE'S NOT DYIN

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
THE STUFF THEY GO THRU BECAUSE WE JUST DON'T

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
THE BRAINLESS CRUELTY JUST SIMPLY WON'T

THESE GIRLS I KNOW
THEY ALL OWN MY HEART
TO KNOW SUCH GREAT DESPAIR IS BEYOND JUST FAIR

NEVER KNOWING
A MOMENTS PEACE
AND UNTROUBLED LOVE THAT THEY CAN NEVER SHARE

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
THE STUFF THEY ALL HAVE TO GO THRU

I DON'T ENVY WOMEN
NO I DON'T
HOW COULD THEIR LIFE BE SO CRUEL

Berkeley Mews

The leaves of brown came falling through you,
Berkeley mews, I first met you,
I staggered through your chilly dining room,
Berkeley mews, I first met you.
Your kitchen sink was cluttered up,
So I couldnt shut it up for longing
I brewed another cuppa up
And tried to sneak out early in the morning.
I thought you had much better things to do,
Berkeley mews, I first met you,
Drowned my conversation with champagne,
Berkeley mews, was not listening.
I thought you were an intellect,
But now that I reflect, you left me reeling.
You made me drink a toast
And when you finished I was looking at the ceiling.
The flood of tears Ive wept thinking of you,
Remind me of that night in berkeley mews.
You know that you left me broken hearted,
Berkeley mews.

I miss my childhood

I miss my childhood,
Miss my mommy’s lap,
The lullabies that my grandpa sung,
The breakfast my granny prepared for me.

I miss my childhood,
Miss the brother-sister fights,
The way the small secrets we kept,
The days we dreamt of becoming someone big.

I miss my childhood,
Miss the friends’, who were never mean,
The teacher so caring,
The playground where we played for hours’.

I miss my childhood,
Miss my dad’s arms which did hold me and wrapped me throughout,
The chocolates he bought so frequently,
The wonder rides he took me to.

I miss my childhood,
Miss the tree where I sat for hours,
The teddy which was my life,
And the way you consoled me dad whenever I cried….

Before Execution.

The sun is set, and all the stars are come,
Stars I shall no more see; the air is still,
And my life waits the ruin so near now.
A little space, and I shall have done here.
Ah, God! twelve hours, twelve little hours, and, lo!
The air and these lips part, day becomes night,
Earth nothing, time a skeleton, and I
An angry ghost, or a tired phantom laid
With many others in oblivion.
Twelve hours, twelve little hours, and I shall have
A wondrous change — feel one fierce pang, and then
Fade off I know not where, or like a star
Shot fearfully from the zenith singe my way
Through chaos haply for some aeons till
I reach another air, a lower sky,
And maybe with a baleful influence
Burn in Pluto's reign.

Identity Of Moment

At twelve of night philosopher thinks with a cup of tea
At twelve of night exuded in dream
At twelve of night cloud of blue sky burns
At twelve of night strip by strip waves fall to ground
At twelve of night full moon flashes of light
At twelve of night horn of car strikes on door
At twelve of night couple enters into dwell of love
At twelve of night loud cry of progenitors comes
At twelve of night machinegun of devilish roars
At twelve of night whistles of train strikes
At twelve of night the red sun of monument raises.

While He see the two playing there

How much I miss
Kyla and Tinkie today
that now plays at another place

and I see the big black dog
and the very small white one
with her big eyes
that run together
in immortal fields

and the small one hops up and down
in the long green grass
while she tries to keep up

and make barking noises
and it’s Kyla that herds off Tinkie
like a mother looking after a small one.

At a stream
with clear transparent water
small Tinkie waits patiently
with her pink tongue
hanging out of her mouth

while Kyla swims like a otter
up and down
and barks her greetings
to a African red knobbed coot
who drifts with babies
on the water

and in the shade
of a big old willow tree
is the Creator of all things

and there’s a smile
that goes from His mouth
past His eyes
while He watches
the two playing there.

Red-headed Woman

Well, brunettes are fine, man.
Blondes are fun.
But, when it comes to getting the dirty job done,
Ill take a red-headed woman, a red-headed woman.
Yeah, a red-headed woman sure can get that job done.
Well, listen up, sir,
Your lifes been wasted
Until youve been down on your knees,
Oh, man, tasted a red-headed woman, a red-headed woman.
Yeah, a red-headed woman sure gets a dirty job done.
Eh ha ha woo hoo woo.
Ee ee ah ee ah ha ea ha ha woo woo (etc.)
Yeah, little tight skirt, strawberry hair.
Tell me what youve got, baby, waiting under there.
Big green eyes that look like sun
They can see every cheap thing that you ever done
Well, I dont care how many girls you dated.
Man, you aint lived
Till youve had your tires rotated
By a red-headed woman, a red-headed woman.
A red-headed woman sure can get the job done.
Well, all you girls out there tonight
Sure look fine,
But my heart and soul and this body of mine
Is a red-headed womans, a red-headed womans.
Yeah, a red-headed woman sure gets a dirty job done.
Eh ha ha woo hoo woo.
Ee ee ah ee ah ha ea ha ha woo woo (etc.)

The unsung death

Once there were singing birds with me.
Then it was my spring.
Then there were perching birds with me.
Then it was my summer.
Then there were pecking birds with me.
It was my autumn.
Now there are woodpeckers with me.
It is my winter, the end.
Those who know my greens will not be there
To sing my glory in the funeral.
Those who would be present at funeral,
Haven’t seen my greens to sing.

Little Girl

(words & music: marie fredriksson)
Published by shock the music
Once upon a time there was a little girl
Once she was mine
In my heart the only one
I wonder where you are
I know youre somewhere in me
I can see your smile when I close, close my eyes
Oh little girl
Where did you go, little girl
I miss you so
Oh, I remember when she was mine
I remember when she was mine
Once upon a time there was a little voice
Singing loud and clear
In my heart the only one
Once upon a time there were so many dreams
Once they were mine
Oh little girl, theyre with, oh theyre with you now
Oh little girl
Where did you go, little girl
I miss you so
I remember when she was mine
Oh, I remember when she was mine
Oh girl, little girl
Where did you go, little girl
I miss you so
Oh, I remember when she was mine
Oh little girl
Where did you go, little girl
I miss you so
Oh, I remember when she was mine
My little girl
I remember when she was mine
Oh, I remember when she was mine

Take Your Whiskey Home

Well, my baby, she dont want me around.
She said shes tired of watchin me fall down.
She wants the good life, only the best.
But I like that bottle better than the rest.
And she said: I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
Well, I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
Well, I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
If you take your whiskey...
Well, that liquor in the nighttime leaves strange memories.
Seems a lifetime since yesterday.
Come the daybreak, come the morrow,
That womans waited up all night for me again.
She said: well, I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
Yeah, I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
Yeah, you know that youre headed for a lot of trouble.
If you take your whiskey home.
Some goes to women, some goes to jesus,
Though Im absolutely certain boths all right.
But it takes me at least halfway to the label
fore I can even make it through the night.
Well, I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
Yeah, I think that youre headed for a whole lot of trouble.
Yeah, you know that youre headed for a lot of trouble.
If you take your whiskey home.

Dreaming A Dream

Dreaming of a dream
A dream were skies are blue oceans are clear and life scared
Dreaming of dream
were a dream of peace and love rule and hate is a myth
Dreaming of a dream
having food for all, and all not thirst
Dreaming of a dream

Dreaming of a dream
were skin color is just that, us all just one
Dreaming a dream
no pain, war the only true crime
Dreaming a dream
were the rich give, and the poor have a chance
Dreaming a dream

Dreaming a dream
were we can look on a future of happiness'
Dreaming a dream
were the children are the future
Dream a dream
were lives are fullfilled, and getting old is not a bad thing
Dreaming a dream

World wonderess, happy, clean, perfect

Dreaming a dream

These tears of mine

Tears of mine, lover of mine
Until when shall i mourn,
Your presence which is ever absent,
I miss the days we never spent,
The kiss you never gave,
The scent i never smelt,
And the tenderness of yours,
I miss you so,
These are tears of mine

I thought i touched you,
I thought i kissed you,
I thought i felt you,
It was just but a dream,
I miss you so,
These are the tears of mine

My nights are desolate,
My bed is empty,
My hands are damp,
My lips so dry,
Rescue me oh my love,
I miss you so,
These are tears of mine

I see myself,
I imagine,
I cogitate,
Then i cry

Yes come to me,
Yes set me free,
My cheeks are wet,
I miss you so,
These tears of mine

A World Apart

She walks in my room,
Closes the door,
She looks in my eyes,
and find's the person I've been searching for,
And darling I miss you,
Yeah I miss you,
So much...
What is this world that we're living in?
Why can't we just be friends?
What is this world that we're dreaming in?
Does this have to be the end?
She's like a glass of water,
in the middle of night yeah,
Cos you're onto something,
She makes me feel alright,
And darling I miss you,
Yeah I miss you,
So much...
What is this world that we're living in?
Why cant we just be friends?
What is this world that we're dreaming in?
Does this have to be the end?
The end
The end
Darling forgive me,
I'm changing,
So much...
What is this world that we're living in?
Why cant we just be friends?
What is this world that we're dreaming in?
Does this have to be the end?
What is this world that we're living in?
Why cant we just be friends?
What is this world that we're dreaming in?
Does this have to be the end?
Darling I miss you
So much...

Gipsies

Yet are they here the same unbroken knot
Of human Beings, in the self-same spot!
Men, women, children, yea the frame
Of the whole spectacle the same!
Only their fire seems bolder, yielding light,
Now deep and red, the colouring of night;
That on their Gipsy-faces falls,
Their bed of straw and blanket-walls.
--Twelve hours, twelve bounteous hours are gone, while I
Have been a traveller under open sky,
Much witnessing of change and cheer,
Yet as I left I find them here!
The weary Sun betook himself to rest;--
Then issued Vesper from the fulgent west,
Outshining like a visible God
The glorious path in which he trod.
And now, ascending, after one dark hour
And one night's diminution of her power,
Behold the mighty Moon! this way
She looks as if at them--but they
Regard not her:--oh better wrong and strife
(By nature transient) than this torpid life;
Life which the very stars reprove
As on their silent tasks they move!
Yet, witness all that stirs in heaven or earth!
In scorn I speak not;--they are what their birth
And breeding suffer them to be;
Wild outcasts of society!

Moon In Ice

The moon is on ice
It smiles from above
It lights up the night
And sends you its love
And sends you its love
In a small cafe
You said you were mine
The moon is on ice
Sitting alone
And love is the price
It wont let you go
Ohhh
In a small cafe
You said you were mine
You said you were mine
Dancing
Dancing girl
Dance with me
Well dance into eternity
The moon is on ice
It smiles from above
It lights up the night
And it sends you its love
So why dont we meet
In that small cafe
Where you said you were mine
You said...
You said you were mine
