Bad is news; good, someone's views
The lead pages of frontline dailies,
A storehouse of sordid news on sleaze,
When compete each to each,
New depths of their height reach,
And cause to spread a viral disease.

A dog when beats dog, when it beats man, and
more if man beats dog— this is the stuff of news
that we read these days. But what when man beats
his mental dog (or dogma) ?
Our press and electronic media need to introspect
on this and make drastic changes in the content
and style of their news-casting so as to introduce
more positivity. No doubt, people want excitement,
but we need inspiration more. A lot of good things
too happen in the world, howso base in these bad
times. The world has seen darker days in the past
and come out of it triumphant still.

Time
Times a teacher yesterday
You know I had nothing but time
Whyd you have to go away
I never got to tell you goodbye
And time beats up on me
Life is funny, life is strange
You know Im just trying to get by
Money, honey, buys you things
It cant buy a place in the sky
And time beats up on you
Another year disappeared
Where did it go?
People ask me
Whats the time
I really dont know
I really dont know
I really dont
I really dont know
And time beats up on you
And time beats up on you
Time beats up on
Time beats up on
Time beats up on
Time beats up on
Time beats up on me
Beats up on you
Beats up on you

Prince Paul
Hey yo, what up Everlast ?
This is Prince Paul, man.
Yo, I ran into Trev on the street from Nasty and he said you're doing this dope Celtic rock album.
So I was like, "yo, that's my style...
That's what I do".
You know I got beats from back in the days.
So I'm like, yo, why don't I give you a call 'cause yo, 'cause you know I got that ill like, you know...
You know somethin' like "Jump Around" but it's more on that like old lucky charm style type, you know.
In other words yo, just yo, give a brotha some work.
You know what I mean ?
It's like I got beats man...
Dante got some beats, but I got beats !
Because yo, I've been doin' it for awhile.
So yo, I got the joint.
Call me...You got my number,
I got it. I know what you need...
I know what you need, man.
I know you got dough.
Give me a buzz, peace

This heart beats
This heart beats,
only cause of you
This heart beats,
just to know its true
This heart beats,
like a love i cant control
This heart beats,
to let everybody know
This heart beats,
when i see your smile
This heart beats,
just before i dial
This heart beats,
i hope you feel the same
This heart beats,
cause my heart is where i write your name

My Heart Beats
Mind thinks, Heart feels and the Heart Beats,
Heart Beats, When it finds its soulmate.
Souls meet eachother, when we meet eachother
We meet, we think, we feel and the Heart Beats.
My heart beats,
And your heart beats are one
It is one, because our heart beats are one
It beats for eachother into our hearts,
Through our hearts and for our hearts,
Which beats for eachother.
My heart beats, when we meet,
It draws us near, to make us
Apart for ever, and leaves us isolated
Forever, and to meet never or ever.

This Love This Heart
This love, this heart, these arms to hold
So tight to you, I wont let go
Can this be real, or just some dream that feels so true
I wish you love, I wish you more
You are all that I live for
Ill never hurt you believe me
My heart beats just for you
It only beats for you
Ill keep the fire alight for you
Cant think of nothing else, what can I do
This lonely heart of mine, it only beats for you
It only beats for you
You bring me peace, you make me smile
You give me strength and all the while
You ask for nothing, only love
And my heart beats just for you
It only beats for you
Id say all these things to you
If you were here, but thats not gonna be
Cos you re not here at all
Theres only me
But I wont stop trying
I wont give up, Ill wait for you
til you come back, its all I can do
Ill be right here, Im going nowhere without you
Give me the chance, just make the call
Just say the words, Im waiting for
Just let this heart of mine show you
It only beats for you
Yes it only beats for you
It only beats for you
This love, this heart
These arms, theyre only for you
This love, this heart
These arms, theyre only for you
Theyre only for you

Good News
Something to begin with
That's easy said than done
You'll see me rolling home
But I don't understand why
Still there's nothing at all
Time is on my side
But we mustn't let our disappointment show
But I will, and you will go on
All I need is some good news (some good news)
All I need is some good news (just some good news)
To put me on my feet (to put me on my feet)
To put me at my ease (at my ease)
All I need is some good news (all I need is some good news)
All I need is some good news (some good news)
To put me at my ease (to put me at my ease)
All I need is some good news
All I need is some good news (just gimme me some good news)
All I need is some good news (some good news)
To put me at my ease (to put me at my ease)
To put me on my feet (on my feet, on my feet)
All I need is some good news (all I need is some good news)
All I need is some good news (all I need is some good news)
All I need is some good news
All I need is some good news (all I need is good news)
To put me on my ease (to put me at my ease)
To put me on my feet (on my feet, on my feet)

Walls Upon Love
Hidden by walls
Hidden from fear, quiet beats quiet yells!
Beats like betrayal, beats like confusion! Back and forth inside my head.
It wonders and wonders and finally opens.
You laugh and say no words no thoughts no kindness comes out! Questions and questions no answers at all. Lie after lie bring the walls up! Water fluids burns like acid rain! Beats slower and slower hoping to die! Three words that can kill a soul in sight. Words that are wishes that are in beats of time. Three words that are words with no emotion at all. You swear and swear those words arE all mine, for in a second you turn and yell and swear to the men whom my beats wish to be at times. Hoping and hoping to kill every beat that beats your name a thousand times.

Wxjl Tonight
The way it was in the past
A long, long time ago
Before staff levels dropped
They used to listen to the radio
And listen to the djs talk
About the songs they didnt know
As if it really mattered
Hit-pick or phone-in show
I dont want you to go tonight
Ten thousand watts of power
News headlines on the hour tonight
Our music beats the best
You just dont need the rest tonight
Once I couldnt care at all
But I can feel the ratings fall tonight
And 20 years ago
No-one seemed to care
The people must have known
The djs role was only there
To fill in space between the songs
That talk of love and other things
As if they didnt matter
Automatic stations came
And sent them all away
And now Im left alone
I havent got a word to say
And youre the one who makes the choice
To turn me on or turn me off
But now it really matters
Hit-pick or phone-in show
I dont want you to go tonight
Ten thousand watts of power
News headlines on the hour tonight
Our music beats the best
You just dont need the rest tonight
Once I couldnt care at all
But I can feel the ratings fall tonight
Hit-pick or phone-in show
I dont want you to go tonight
Ten thousand watts of power

You just dont need the rest tonight

The news media are, for the most part, the bringers of bad news... and it's not entirely the media's fault, bad news gets higher ratings and sells more papers than good news.

Until they lose everything
In the Springtime
The wind beats the trees
Until they lose
Their most beautiful flowers
In the Summertime
The wind beats the trees
Until they lose
Their most beloved fruits
In the Autumn time
The wind beats the trees
Until they lose
Their most painful leaves
In the Winter time
The wind beats the trees
Until they lose
Their hope.
And the wind beats again those trees
Until they lose
Their most important spring buds
Again and again
Until they lose their sap
Moreover
The wind beats the trees
Until they collapse down
To the ground.

Good News- Bad News
Bad news-I am driving along and a car is bearing down me from the rear.
It keeps coming.
Bad news-The car hits my little car at 60 miles an hour-bam!
Good news-I keep control of the car for a second or two
then the car begins to skid.
Bad news-The car skids, swerves and overturns, flipping, flipping.
The world outside the wind shield revolves upside down.
Bad news-Things go blank and I see water coming into the car;
I had landed in the river.
Good news-I am sinking but not yet under water.
Bad news- The water starts to come in faster and faster.
Bad news- The water keeps coming in the car. It is sinking.
It is over my head.
I am drowning.
Bad news- I hold my breath for 30 seconds and decide that I will die here.
I regret that it has to be in the mud and silt of the river. Undignified. I take a deep breath ready to go.
Good news, The car suddenly bobs to the surface from an air bubble
inside just as I take that breath.
Bad news-I look around and notice that the car is sinking again
this time even faster.
Bad news- I look around to try to open a door. But the door won't open.
Good news- I hear voices above. Someone saw me go in.
Bad news- The water is rising so fast I am sure they won't get me in time.
Bad news- I bang on the wind shield but it does not break
Good news- Someone from the outside breaks the wind shield and asks
if I can get out.
Bad news- I drag myself out over the cut glass-
blood in the water, gasoline and mud.,
Good news-Outside, there are men with a floating flat board and they float me to the shore.
Bad news-They ask me who is President and what is today's date.
And they are my rescuers, I think, and don't know this stuff?
Good news- The helicopter air-lifts me to the hospital with broken ribs, eye
smashed, blood everywhere.
Good news- I recover and can't get a cigarette and thereafter quit for good
as a way of thanking God that I lived.
Bad news- Broken ribs lead to pleurisy and later pneumonia.
Good news- I recover.
Good news-People at work give me a snorkel for my birthday; lol.

Just lose yourself
Give into the music
Ooh you can do it
(Yeah, yeah)
And free your mind
Don't think about it
Now that we're riding?
(Dancing, dancing)
Won't apologize
Baby I know
What I want tonight
I'm on a super highway
Baby better give way-a-a
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Don't wanna turn it down
I'm hungry for your sound
I wanna lose myself
Ooh I like your rhythm
I can't help myself
For me there's no one else
I wanna lose myself
In your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Feeling high (high)
Twenty-four/Seven
Ooh... It feels like heaven
(Baby)
Thru the night
Keep it flowing
It's cool and you know it
(Yeah, yeah)
Can't run or hide
Baby I know what I feel inside
A fascinating rhythm divine
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Don't wanna turn it down
I'm hungry for your sound
I wanna lose myself
Ooh I like your rhythm
I can't help myself
For me there's no one else
I wanna lose myself
In your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Ooh... Ooooh I can't deny it (No, no, no)
All these beats got me flying (Ohh)
Ooooh your trying (Ooooooh)
(Yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah)
Don't wanna turn it down
I'm hungry for your sound
I wanna lose myself
Ooh I like your rhythm
I can't help myself
For me there's no one else
I wanna lose myself
In your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute
Woah, woah
(Yeah, yeah)
Woah, woah
Your beats per minute

Your beats per minute

A lot of the stuff I've accumulated over the last few years of touring I thought was really interesting. Like sounds, sound bites, and beats even, but they weren't good dance beats they weren't ones anyone would want to rap over or anything.
And Love Goes On
Music by: maurice white, david foster, verdine white & larry dunn
Lyrics by: maurice white & brenda russel
I would be so willing to give you all I got
Youre a special lady, forget me not
I could be so tender, for the likes of you
Let my heart surrender
And love goes on
On and on
Your heart beats strong
As love goes on
Everyday, Im wishing for that day to come
Feeling superstitious hoping shes the one
One day Im lonely, next with plenty smiles
Love I find amusing
And love goes on
On and on
Your heart beats strong
As love goes on
Oh, oh, oh, and if we cant work it out
You should know, without a doubt
I will always be the one you can turn to
A friend until the end, no matter where weve been
Sometimes you cant hold on
You got to give it space c yea yea
And love goes on
On and on
Your heart beats strong
As love goes on
Baby we can work it out
Yes I really love you, and without a doubt
I can make you happy,
Plant good memory that will last forever
And love goes on
On and on
Your heart beats strong
As love goes on

All For Love
The girl next door has taste and style
Shes lookin so much better to me, yeah
Her flavor is hot as she passes by
Now I want her so much that it makes me scream, yeah
Our eyes collide, couldnt turn away
She licked her lips and smiled at me
When we find ourselves a little hideaway
I knew that I was in for somethin sweet
All for love
Im doin things ive never done before
All for love
Ill try my best cause shes the one my heart beats for
We hold each other neath the starry skies
I feel the rhythm of our hearts
This is harder than the 4th of july
And I want more of what shes got
I tell her things I always keep inside
I let her look into my soul
She says she loves me, can I squeeze her tight
Tonight there aint no letting go
All for love
Im doin things ive never done before
All for love
Ill try my best cause shes the one my heart beats for
In a daze all time
Dreaming about her day and night
All for love
Im doin things ive never done before
All for love
Ill try my best cause shes the one my heart beats for
All for love
All for love
All for love
All for love
Im doin things ive never done before
All for love
Ill try my best cause shes the one my heart beats for
All for love
Im doin things ive never done before
All for love

To the prison satellite penal one...)

The News
A billion people died on the news tonight
But not so many cried at the terrible sight
Well mama said
It's just make believe
You can't believe everything you see
So baby close your eyes to the lullabies
On the news tonight
Who's the one to decide that it would be alright
To put the music behind the news tonight
Well mama said
You can't believe everything you hear
The diagetic world is so unclear
So baby close your ears
On the news tonight
On the news tonight
The unobtrusive tones on the news tonight
And mama said
Why don't the newscasters cry when they read about people who die?
At least they could be decent enough to put just a tear in their eyes
Mama said
It's just make believe
You cant believe everything you see
So baby close your eyes to the lullabies
On the news tonight
