An Empire Of Illiteracy.....................
THERE ARE MILLION WHO ONLY DREAM OF SCHOOL
OVER ILLITERACY IS WHAT THEY RULE! ! ! !
THEIR EMPIRE IS FULL OF DISGUST
THEY HAVE TO LIVE IN IT, IT IS A MUST
POVERTY IS THE GREAT BARRIOR
RESTRICTING THEM LIKE A WARRIOR
HUNGER AND THIRST -THE TWO SOLDIERS
PREVENTING THEM FROM MOVING FURTHER
FEEL SORRY AND PITY FOR THEM
FOR EDUCATION CAN TURN THEM INTO A GLAMOUROUS GEM
PRISE OPEN THE OBSTRUCTING BARRIORS
THEN, LITERACY SHALL BE GLORIOUS

A Promise to eradicate illiteracy
A Promise to eradicate
Illiteracy
The dark veil of flowing illiteracy,
As a canopy on our growing democracy;
Covers many crores of our great lot,
Under which teeming with ignorance, rot.
Unaware of the goings on around,
Stark illiteracy with poverty bound;
The window of the wide world is shut,
And the kaleidoscopic view of the panorama is cut.
The spiritual and intellectual devolpment,
Not sparked off by literary involvement,
Is a curse on the person and the nation,
As multitudes live like animals sans education.
Seized of the problem, in many a country,
UNESCO launched a war on illiteracy;
Allocating funds, the malady to cure,
With India taking the cudgel, very sure.
To kindle the dawn of consciousness,
Of the need of literacy's importance;
A programme of National Adult Education,
Is on the anvil with much ovation.
Of all the state birds flying in thirst,
Kerala's bird has landed first;
With Ernakulam carrying the flag high,
Inducing others their flight to stage by!
Let us scouts now make out a promise,
A multi-pronged attack without a miss-
To launch on 'illiteracy'-the monster dreadful,
With a spirit of commitment and hearts so full.

April, March! Soldiers Search for HUNGER MARCH - A2 Story
Lot of hunger and empty bowl without food is poverty,
Not having one more dress to take bath is poverty,
Sheltered, willing but failing to accommodate a guest is also poverty,
Mother's sick but cannot afford treatment is also poverty,
If treated, prescribed but cannot buy medicine is poverty;
A mother's thought,2 mouthful of rice with 3 children is poverty.
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
The fort of confidence is dismantled by poverty and frustration;
They can build castles in air though lack inspiration,
They simply look for food threw in dustbin in month of May!
They die while living, live in dying daily with their life of dismay;
Poverty is not crime but it is a curse and worse...
I'm brand ambassador of poverty and I endorse!
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
Don't show poverty as excuse...
God gave you brain and make use and bemuse,
No matter if you are born in poverty's slum-dom
While some are handicap blind, dumb, deaf and a cough;
You work and Strive dawn to dusk with inspiration, if
You make education oxygen of your life and your kingdom.
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
Hence, don't look up to someone or don't cry and cry;
Go far, father and farthest, Age is no bar so try and try!
Take all ladders, Surpass Eiffel Tower and reach the sky!
Remember one Booker T Washington and Abraham Lincoln
Became presidents of America, and poverty is won!
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
From in India to Cambodia and Georgia to Indonesia,
From Kazakhstan to Afghanistan, China and all Asia;
From Namibia to Zambia and Algeria to Nigeria,
From Uganda to Rwanda, Morocco and all South Africa;
Bolivia to Columbia, Guyana to Argentina and all South America;
Third world is resounding with Mania! Mania! Food Mania!
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.

Priceless Knowledge
Poverty is not a hindrance,
In having education and its importance;
Good and bad things must have balance,
So, be strong and have reliance.
Education is also for poor,
Learning schools should open their door;
Teach them to learn more,
To move forward and across the core.
Books and magazines are some of our sources
Of information which help different courses;
Also these can be the great forces,
To prevent our minds from acquiring lapses.
We should know the importance of literacy,
And should not be considered as fallacy;
It can develop our intimacy
To others and share our competency.

Right to education
Right to education
Is a right to live,
Without education we spontaneousy get
A right to die,
Not physically but morally,
Illiteracy is our moral death,
For being illiterate we can't even talk life,
Education is a soul rests
In the body of human being,
So without education,
We are only human animals,
Education takes us to height of humanity.

Prosperity and poverty
Hunger for food has been met;
Hunger for love has set in.
Hunger for power has been met;
Hunger for ethics has set in.
Hunger for lust has been met;
Hunger for faith has set in.
Thirst for knowledge has been met;
Thirst for innocence has set in.
Thirst for contacts has been met;
Thirst for concerns has set in.
Thirst for comfort has been met;
Thirst for compassion has set in.
Love, ethics, faith lost,
Innocence, concerns and compassion missing,
Despite food, power and lust,
Despite knowledge, comfort and compassion,
The soul will die a slow death
Long before the body succumbs.
The world will not die of poverty
But it will sure die of prosperity.

Dare to be a Dreamer
Dream reality,
Dream with dignity,
Dream for humanity,
Dream for prosperity.
Dream for a change,
Don't dream with second chances,
For dreaming isn't a duty,
Don't dream a dream full of pity.
Dream to inspire,
Be your own empire,
Be the master of your dreams,
Dream a dream you can claim.

Enterprising Education..
Trickle the wealth capitalists say
Limiting the wealth is socialist way
Distribute it the communists say
Capture it for self is all their game
Making everyone rich or poor
Dependent on some other
Is not the way to empower!
Growing people with power
Is the need of the hour..
Power is neither wisdom nor wealth
Neither vote nor health
Power neither grows on guns
Nor it does on just bread and buns.
*****
The ability to spot a need
The ability to create a feed
The ability to serve with speed
Is real people power indeed!
Past is dead, present is dying
Let us make our future flying
Create a future that keeps trying
Children who are enterprising..
Till no child remains illiterate
Fight with illiteracy and eradicate..
Literacy of less words and more deeds
Litter them on our seeds..
Reading, Writing and Mathematics
Swallowing, Vomiting as is where is
Push our education go beyond these
Transforming their real lives..
Every child rich or poor
Education should make them entrepreneur
With courage, confidence, hope and honor
Let our businesses spread the world over..
Neither in capital nor in a book
Entrepreneur is born in the outlook
Let education sharpen the young minds
Enable them to make new finds..
Empowering our future to self-rule
Enterprising Education is the tool
Poverty to Prosperity
Everyone an Entrepreneur is the key

Education
How hard it is,
To learn and write,
To prepare and fight,
The evil exams!
The book so thick
Studying it makes us feel sick,
Everything comes to an end
But, why not education?
They say learning is like a sinking star
But to us, studying
Is always like a war..
Now, here we are hating and cursing
But still not losing
Cause of our value education…
It is double valuable
If we give it as Dedication,
Think of many who has not seen books
Who has always been in hooks
Of illiteracy,
But here we are able but still
In aliteracy,
Learn and help to learn,
Give a child the gift of education
And let it be your recreation…
Let the light of knowledge glow all way,
And let’s join hands
In making illiteracy blow away…
'Learn and let learn'

Watching You, Watching Me, Watching You, Watching Everyone
So this is Great Britain
A green and pleasant land?
The home of CCTV Camera’s
To get speeding drivers banned
So this is Great Britain
The welfare state, & NHS
Great British Institutions?
Some think they’re in a mess
So this Is Great Britain
That once ruled the waves
An Empire and a Commonwealth?
Now issues ASBO’s if one misbehaves
So this is Great Britain
The Mother of Democracy?
The House of Commons and Lords
Ensuring justice & liberty?
So this is Great Britain
Where God saves the Queen
A land of hope & glory?
You can vote at age eighteen
So this is Great Britain
Are the pensioners in poverty?
They’ve never had it so good?
They’re all having a nice cup of tea
So this is Great Britain
A class system breeding inequality
Education, Education, Education?
Needing a dose of political honesty
So this is Great Britain
Still the mother of the free?
The police, council, & MI5
Are watching you or watching me

Sonnet: The Magic of Poverty
A birth in poverty is luck supreme!
A death in poverty, a great blessing;
A life of poverty is rare a dream;
Achievements great, stark poverty can bring.
’Tis poverty that goads nations do feats;
’Tis poverty that stimulates scientists;
In everything, poverty, wealth just beats;
The greatest men were in poverty’s lists.
And poverty lessens our worries much;
Account to God will be much easier;
Poverty gives the saint a divine touch;
In poverty, poets can fly higher!
Poverty helps to shun worldly pleasures;
A soul in poverty, Heaven allures.

I've Heard Much Talk Of Darfur
I've heard much talk of Darfur though I've never been to there
Where people only live in hope and die slowly in despair
The tragic footage of there on the t v news brings it all home to me
Of what it must be like for those who live in abject poverty.
In a Land of war and droughts and famines where war lords rule by fear
Of any feel good and happy stories we never seem to hear
Where people die of hunger in their thousands every day
Man's inhumanity to man is alive and well today.
Where men and women look old before they reach their prime
To be born in the wrong place ought not to be a crime
The seeds they've planted for food have died and the parched ground is cracked and dry
And the warlords steal their food aid and the people starve and die.
A million people hungry for every billionaire
And the super wealthy getting wealthier doesn't life seem so
unfair
And poverty has it's root cause in man's inhumanity to man
And I feel sure that wealthy people also live in Darfur in Sudan.
Of late I have heard much news of Darfur and I've seen sad footage on t v
Of people due to no fault of their own in the worst of poverty
In a drought stricken Land ruled by Warlords the innocent die young
And are buried in mass graves and their praises remain unsung.

We have ignored cultural literacy in thinking about education... We ignore the air we breathe until it is thin or foul. Cultural literacy is the oxygen of social intercourse.

Sonnet: My life
My poverty has been my best Teacher;
My selflessness has been my best helper;
My miseries have been my best lover;
My love of God has been my best Master.
If not for poverty, could I turn great?
If not for miseries, could I change fate?
If not for enemies, could I be sane?
If not for evil minds, could I God gain?
Our freedom won hard is not for abuse;
Our liberty is not to ignore laws;
Our literacy is for use, not misuse;
Our will-power is not like Eagle's claws.
A righteous life is what God wants of us;
And love, we must our neighbours without fuss.

A look at the state of education in our society today or The New 3 R's Of TodayLearning, Education, and School
Learning, Education, and School
Many years ago, education was much simpler, or so it seemed!
You had the Three R’s, a red brick school house, and it was clean!
Then we added courses like Latin and Greek- of how awful- hard to speak,
Never fear, let us add courses that will help art, shop and Home Ec- for something to eat.
That’s right, food for thought,
After all isn’t that is what school is all about.
For forty plus years we followed that rule,
We cooked up a great education until finally in the end we listened to the political correctness fools
We discarded the ingredients that made our school great only to add new programs and policies which promote racism and hate..
What happened to our vocational programs, places where we taught our students trades,
What happened to learning work as part of the dignity of man?
What happened to learning is easy to see, instead of learning correctly,
We are learning to fail because we are failing to read,
Sstudents are porous and need to be reached.
Essays, standard tests, and computer programs are great, but can they replace touch of loving parents?
Listen to me, just a cry in the dark, it’s not our schools that are falling apart.
We have lost our direction and maybe our focus.
For you see it not your test score that count one, two, and three
It simply must be the students who learn their A, B, and C’s
They apply what they learn, not with paper and pen,
but with hands, hearts, and mind and souls.
So we can all learn to live together happily once and again.

The will does not learn.
The ass has a will to bear,
The bull has a will to be yoked.
The dog to wag and the fox
To cheat have their wills.
No literacy can change it.
No illiteracy can stop it.

April, March! Soldiers Search for HUNGER MARCH - A1 Story
World has advanced in many days...
Yet in 21st Century poverty retains in umpteen ways;
Hunger glinted in his eyes...
He does begging and petty thievery, at the same time!
Cheeks were sunken and clothes were in rags but still, a crime!
Believe I swear in the name of god, my words are not lies.
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
I saw a rag picker scrounging for a coin in the garbage,
Though he is with bare foot who knows as bub, he is cute!
Owing to the troubles he met, made him mute.
He can fill the rivers with poverty's tears...
His eyes were pale and mouth opened for food cabbage!
One among is he, pleading and begging the passersby yet nobody hears.
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
The street is lighted with half naked
Bodies go begging down, the street and half fed,
From head to toe they're covered with poverty, yet
With pain and misery as their make-up set;
Hunger is present in their stomach and a rat's race!
And it is vaguely seen on their face and a food race.
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
Labourers in construction breaking the stones...
And lifting the bricks while scorching sun is the witness!
They work bodily, resembles awkward dance of a heap of bones,
The skin saturates and swallows the heat, I bet!
Leaving it dark as the midnight sky, oh! What a mess!
Their hopes are dashed; life is smashed of body’s sweat!
The Mother weeps and father yells!
Sitting in the house of poverty and what-else!
Small sister sleeps and her little brother dies and I linger;
His father only stares as he is killed by hunger...
Why doctors only cure diseases and why not
Poverty - the biggest disease of all. Is it not?
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
Every now and then in newspapers, I hear
The death of a peasant or two, oh my dear!
Unable to feed family, life has become Herculean task,
Drowned himself in melancholy, under hunger mask!
Bogged down under wheels of Pressure, not to hide...
Due to debts of treasure, he committed suicide!
April, March! Soldiers search for Hunger march at poverty's home.
Lot of hunger and empty bowl without food is poverty,
Not having one more dress to take bath is poverty,

Dominionistic
They wish to rule the world,
With strong fists that restrict.
They want it hidden,
That they are dominionistic.
They believe that they should rule,
Over land and sea.
As if they are supreme authority,
With 'sovereignty'.
And the people...
Dominionistic,
Think they...
Can rule with tough fists.
These people,
Who are like this...
Wish to rule and control.
Yes these people,
Dominionistic...
Think they...
Can rule with tough fists.
These people,
Who are like this...
Wish to rule and control.
They believe that they should rule,
Over land and sea.
As if they are supreme authority with 'sovereignty'.
They wish to rule the world,
With strong fists that restrict.
They want it hidden,
That they are...
Dominionistic.
People,
Who rule with tough fists.
People,
Who are just like this...
Conquer and control.
And the people...
Dominionistic,
Think they...
Can rule with tough fists.
These people,
Who are like this...
Wish to rule and control.
Yes these people,
Dominionistic...
Think they...
Can rule with tough fists.
People,
Who are like this...
Want to rule and control.
Restricting with dominionistic ideal wishes.
Restricting with dominionistic ideal wishes.
Yes these people,
Dominionistic...
Think they...
Can rule with tough fists.
People,
Who are like this...
Want to rule and control.
People,
Dominionistic...
Think they...
Can rule with tough fists.
People,
Who are like this...
Want to rule and control.

School Dropout
He never went to school
But he was no fool
He was simply playing Mr Cool
Eyes closed by cottonwool
Cheered on my mates
Sealed his present faith
There is a time to play
A time to go to school
His parents told him
Make that your number one rule
He wholly ignored them
How can education
be a such golden gem
Now he sobs, sobs, sobs
Now he robs, robs, robs
No qualifications
Zero education
His mates have moved on
to better jobs
In many glorious nations
Now he sobs, sobs, sobs
Now he robs, robs, robs
He wishes he was a student
He wishes he had the talent
He had at one moment
There are no more screams and shouts
Because he knows what he is all about
He is a school dropout

Surfers Rule
Its a genuine fact that the surfers rule
Its plastered on the walls all around the school now
(surfers rule, surfers rule)
Becoming just as common as a golden rule now
(surfers rule, surfers rule)
Take it or leave it but you better believe it
Surfers rule
They burnt it in the grass on the football field now
(surfers rule, surfers rule)
Just try to make them cool it and theyll never yield now
(surfers rule, surfers rule)
Take what youve heard now and go pass the word now
Surfers rule
Its a genuine fact that the surfers rule
A woody full of surfers pullin long side a wagon
(surfers rule, surfers rule)
The hodaddies sittin while the surfers are draggin
The surfers are winnin and they say as theyre grinnin
Surfers rule
Surfers rule
(four seasons you better believe it)
Surfers rule
(four seasons you better believe it)
Surfers rule
(four seasons you better believe it)
Surfers rule
(four seasons you better believe it)
Surfers rule
(four seasons you better believe it)
Surfers rule

The Sobs Of The Starving Children
We know about them from the radio and television and the hungry getting hungrier by the day
But we do not hear the sobs of the starving children from where we live they seem so far away
On the six o clock news at times we do see footage of hungry
children in a Land where poverty and disease is rife
And we feel a twinge of sadness that we cannot help them since we have got our own struggles in life.
Still the sobs of the hungry children are growing louder and
not all of them live in a far Country
And not all of them in the slums of the big city there's such a thing as hidden poverty
The single mother raises her brood on welfare and she has to struggle for to make ends meet
And they survive on bread and tea and milk and cornflakes since she cannot afford to buy them meat.
Banks and corporations make billions in yearly profits and we read and hear of their financial gain
But they don't help to feed the starving children and the growing scourge of poverty remain
A mile from where the billionaire lives there's poverty and hunger yet of their plight he does not wish to know
Still for him to grow wealthier others must grow poorer and
life goes on as it did years ago.
To find want you don't have that far to travel for poverty is everywhere and near
And though the starving children keep on sobbing louder their cries for food we do not seem to hear
And sad to say that those who talk and dream of an egalitarian society will never live to see their dreams come true
And in a World where there is want and hunger the majority of the World's wealth still with the wealthy few.
