Almost Alone On Planet London

-where the windows on the train cry
just as i
did they witness the same?
abandoned cranes and merciless rain?
my eyes won't dry that easy
you need to hold me
please
i'm nothing but a baby
grey, grey, grey
it's not even cold
and i like the rain
no weeping this time
it's darker then my soul
almost alone on planet london
almost alone

The Grey World

Grey nights in the wind,
And the grey-faced dead.
Grey hairs in my head,
And grey eyes in my mind.

Grey mists in the morn,
And grey waves that rave,
Grey mould on my grave,
And grey eyes forlorn.

Grey clouds in the sky,
And the grey world asleep,
Grey ghosts that sigh,
And grey eyes that weep.

Grey

Grey road stretched through grey rain.
Grey rain fell though grey mist.
Grey mist enveloped all,
all the eye could see,
all the land,
all the sky
and me.
Grey covered all,
all the way down to the sea.

Glimpsed through grey the swell of the ocean,
riding the waves a wind surfer surfing,
chopping, fighting the crests with swift motion
skirting the spray, sail unfurling.
Stopping, I stared at that sight in the mist,
oh how he came dancing over the sea,
right through the rain a state of sheer bliss,
the wondrous frolic rippling throughout me
making me tingle right down deep inside.
That misty image ripped all grey apart
a glorious vision of freedom untied,
returning tremendous joy to my heart
filling me up, bringing tears to my eyes,
emerging from grey a great love of life.

Grey Train

This Sunday she'll come
To see me again.
And we will kiss
Then talk about
That and this.
And laugh into each others eyes.
Embrace in lovers sighs.
I'll make her lunch.
I have a hunch
She will be the one.
As I hold her hand in the sun.
And on Monday
She takes the grey train.
And cries as she leaves me again.

Next Sunday she'll come to see me once more.
I'll carry her bags to my door.
And dance her across my floor.
But
My heart now trembles
In cold light of day.
The past now resembles
A romantic play.
It's been a while
Since a smile
When she came to stay.
I'm talking to an empty chair.
She'll grace my rhyme.
And toss her sunshine hair.
But
On Monday
I will watch the grey train.
And cry as she leaves me again.
I kiss her eyes
As I stand in the rain.
So searing
The endless pain.
Disappearing
My love
On grey train.

The Rain

I don't know how far I can see
'cause it's all blue water streaming towards me
The sun needs to shine normally
but it's all grey rain
The rain, the rain on me, rain on me
Chorus
So I will find a place, where I can hide from the sky
And I will wait in this place,
'cause I know you're trying to
Open up your sky
Push away the dark clouds and shine
Forget the thunder so loud, don't be afraid
Show yourself ! Don't hide now !
The rain, the rain on me, rain on me
The rain, the rain on me, rain on me
I don't know how high you can see
but it's all grey water falling down on me
The sun needs to shine normally
but it's all grey rain
Chorus

Grey, Grey Sky

Someday I will ride the great bird
Into the sky, into the grey
And will take a bright secret of mine
Into the grey, grey sky.

And the light will come, piercing my eyes
Out of the sky, out of the grey
Come blinding and searing these eyes
Out of the grey, grey sky.

And I will find comfort in this
In the wide sky, in the wide grey
In the painful dark brightness of light
Light of the grey, grey sky.

My secret will fly away home
Into the sky, into the grey
And the great bird will follow it there
Into the grey, grey sky.

And I will be riding that bird
Bird of the sky, bird of the grey
And I will come home once again
Home to the grey, grey sky.

But for now I am weighted, earthbound
One of the mud, one of the ground
And I write this sad song to sad sound
Girl of the pavement sighs.

My Sneaking Tears

How heavy fell the rain that day
From burdened clouds of mournful grey.
The torrent forced them stay their height -
Composure swayed by onerous might.

My skin wrung wet with icy chill
As mud embraced that sodden hill;
But mind of mine had elsewhere gone -
'Twas clouds abandoned I was on.

The driving drops advanced their gears
To camouflage my sneaking tears -
Whence now did swell such floods of pain
To see me melt into this rain…

On equal bearing now were we:
This rain, myself, in harmony.

This winter

The air is grey
and the cold bites with the rain
and this morning, there’s fog folding around me

I am goalless and empty without you
and I do not know what your words mean,
but you have no place for me and my life is grey.

The sadness falls
like a cloak over me,
while goallessness folds around me.

My cheeks are wet and there are drops that stick to it
and its not rain and it is wet from weeping
and I do not know where to find light in the greyness.

Everything is dark and I wonder what my future holds
and your heart is made of rock,
while pain and blackness falls around me.

I am searching for a heaven that hangs sapphire blue
in the future over our lives and like the Lords blessings,
comes right through the darkness and meaningless grey
and fold open like a new morning.

Lots Of Rain Around

Light rain may bless our gardens with its welcome shower
Blest rain may still our worries, make us once more sure.
Still rain may soften edges of the city street.
Soft rain may cool our anger, make things once more straight,
Cold rain may lighten the oppressive, summer heat.
Light rain may dampen fires of burning, seething hate.
Damp rain may grey the sound of unmeant harshness said.
Grey rain may wet our spirits, make us down and sad.
Wet rain may quicken our intent to stay indoors
Quick rain may lighten into sunshine, which endears.

This winter3

The air is overcast and grey
and the cold chills with the rain
and the end of our love cuts right through me.

The winter rain is unusual
for this time of year,
but just so is the decision
that you are finished with me.

There is fog
that folds around me this morning
and my life is just as grey
that I am goalless looking for you
without finding you
or getting direction at all.

Could independence and freedom
have such an impact on you,
is that you are prepared
to lie our love
down in a tomb?

Grey Skies

Grey skies

Skies are grey, rain all day, perfect time to sit and pray.
It matters not, if you’re at home or in your car.
Receiving CHRIST is the best thing by far.
Open your heart and pray to him
For all your needs and desires
He will put out that flaming fire.
And when you feel that your problems
Are as grey as the skies, and the tears fall from your eyes
And it seems that life is not worth living
And you are so tired of giving.
Look through the grey rainy day
Inside you a small voice will say
“ I am here to lead the way
For tomorrow is another day
And when you see the sky a beautiful blue
It’s because I created it for you.
So don’t give up, don’t despair
For when you

April

April is a cruel time
Even though the sun may shine
And world looks in the shade as it slowly comes away
Still falls the april rain
And the valleys filled with pain
And you cant tell me quite why
As I look up to the grey sky
Where it should be blue
Grey sky where I should see you
Ask why, why it should be so
Ill cry, say that I dont know
Maybe once in a while Ill forget and Ill smile
But then the feeling comes again of an april without end
Of an april lonely as they come
In the dark of my mind I can see all too fine
But there is nothing to be done when I just cant feel the sun
And the springtimes the season of the night
Grey sky where it should be blue
Grey sky where I should see you
Ask why, why it should be so
Ill cry, say that I dont know
I dont know

Born To Run

The quiet sadness of the people of the north
Echoes silently around the cold grey places
Ecstasies undared tremble upon the edge of the tightly, respectably unfulfilled
Who drink to excess in order to forget what never happened
Brave faces
Well dressed ordered minds on suicides edge
Reflected in the rain skimmed slate grey, battleship grey, hardship grey...
And further south, and homeless,
Here I am. globally-altered and dishevelled
Oh darling, Ive done it all
An antithesis of sorts
And yet bound together and hopelessly in love
With the inevitable loss
And the end
How can we run from ourselves?

Grey Blue Eyes

I feel for the light
Your glory was lost that night
And no mind can't get me right
And now I'm praying that you'll find me out
Stone, stone has pulled me down
But my faith has got me bound to your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Don't forget my broken heart
You remember it from the start
You made it and it's all a part
Of your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
You're gone and I know I'm dead
I've lost my way
Can't find me in your grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes

Grey Sweater

did I mention how I love grey woolen sweaters
but not on me
I always picture them on you
in the autumn, streets wet from rain
yet sunny
you smile dazzlingly, opening your arms
and pulling me near
in the cool fall air
always, I imagine us in London
where it is always raining
but at that moment, it is shining
because you are there
hugging me close, to your grey sweatered chest

Grey Windows...

grey windows, grey buildings,
grey streets, grey skies...
grey figures staring,
grey deals are done!

manipulate gas prices,
manipulate food...
manipulate the economy,
manipulate the election.

right and wrong,
never thought of.
hungry mouths and desperation.
win the war,
never raise a gun,
bodies strewn everywhere!

money makes gods,
without conscience or morals.
human lives just tokens,
that buy trinkets for demons!

flag draped caskets,
the stink of money overwhelms.
while patriots dig graves,
for their mothers and sisters.

right and wrong,
never thought of.
hungry mouths and desperation.
pick a President,
who'll stand silent,
as birds of prey pick the bodies!

grey windows...

Taxi In The Rain

Where have I been going
On this lost and rainy night
I, who have no home to go to
Waiting for a taxi in the rain

The grey earth sleeps
And lets me take my way
Alone amidst the crowd
Waiting for a taxi in the rain

I’ve come so far in search
Of what I have not found
Perhaps it is down this street
Waiting for a taxi in the rain

Grey and frozen faces
Pass me by unhurriedly
Turning their backs to the dreamer
Waiting for a taxi in the rain

Under The Sun

It used to rain
Dreary and grey
Most every day
But not any more
We come out of our homes
We lie down
Under the cloud that never comes
We roll in the radiation
And we make love
Under the sun
Under the sun
The polar ice is melting
suits me fine
We go to the beach on the northern line
We watch the sea
Comin up the street
Under the sun
Under the sun
It used to rain
Dreary and grey
Most every day
But not any more
We take off our clothes
And have some fun
Under the sun
Under the sun

Monday Morning

As the sun comes up between the grey of the rain clouds
Brighter than the streetlights along the industrial parks
I travel slowly gaining foot by foot in the dense traffic
As the buses, trucks and cars fight their way up the bridge
I see beauty on this Monday morning after the rain

While misty drops of water elevated by the tires ahead
Splash on my windshield before illuminating like diamonds
The sun rises in my back welcoming this new rainy day
Harbor cranes like silhouettes along the river shores
Tower high above the freight piers blue and grey on grey

Crossing the bridge high above the city in the midst of traffic
I see the dark waters sleeping very still after the storm
Drops of water lingering on the railing far on the outer edge
Before losing balance and making the journey into the deep
To mingle with the river then travel the short distance to the sea

I dream about flying and diving into cool black waters
About becoming one with the particles of our existence
Surrounded by a vacuum I could start over in a different form
But the traffic merciless pushes me further along into the city
I missed my chance and just smile about the beauty of today

Here Come The People In Grey

I got a letter this morning with serious news thats gone and ruined my day,
The borough surveyors used compulsory purchase to acquire my domaine,
Theyre gonna pull up the floors, theyre gonna knock down the walls,
Theyre gonna dig up the drains.
Here come the people in grey theyre gonna take me away to lord knows where,
But Im so unprepared I got no time to pack and I got nothing to wear,
Here come the people in grey,
To take me away.
Me and my babys gonna get on a train thats gonna take us away,
Im gonna live in a tent, were gonna pay no more rent were gonna pay no more rates,
Were gonna live in a field, were gonna buy me gun, to keep the policemen away.
Im gonna pass me a brand new resolution,
Im gonna fight me a one man revolution, someway,
Gonna beat those people in grey,
But here come the people in grey,
To take me away.
The people in grey have gone and taken away my right to voice my complaint,
Her majestys government have sent me a form I must complete it today.
But its making me blue, dont wanna tell all my secrets to
The people in grey.
Im gonna pass me a brand new resolution,
Im gonna fight me a one man revolution, someway,
Gonna start my rebellion today.
But here come the people in grey,
To take me away.
Oh, lord, those people in grey,
I gotta get back at those people in grey,
Here come the people in grey,
To take me away.

The Lady in Grey

On this road, I did meet,
In the wee hours, a lady,
frail and petit.

I spoke to her softly,
and bid her good day.

This little old lady,
all dressed in grey.

Just a slight nod, was her
greeting you see,
as she continued her walk,
up the hill past me.

I had to know, on this very night,
why this lady in grey, gave me
such a fright.

I turned my head quickly,
to ask her, her name
but gone was the lady,
I had met in the rain.

This story you see, really is
true.
fore I met her that morning,
around the hour of two.

The lady in grey, was Mrs.
Metler, you see,
a lady from a time, long
before you and me.
