A Zebra Visit

f you’ve ever had a visit with a Zebra
It’s an animal that stands on its own
For there is nothing at all quite like it
As it nestles inside of its home

The markings are each one unique
For there are never two of the same
Although usually wild in other countries
They can sometimes be nice and quite tame

I was privileged to visit this huge barn
Where Clydesdales have their stalls
But imagine a Zebra in the midst
Standing so beautiful and so tall

Horses and Zebra’s are not exactly alike
And sizes can be very different too
The markings are so fascinating
Some seem to sit rather askew

So if you’re lucky and meet one
An animal that is truly exquisite
You will never ever forget it
To be able to have a Zebra visit!

Y..... Zebra

Zebra goes to drink
Crocodile jumps
Zebra escapes

Zebra tells son
Not to drink
At that lake

Son goes anyhow
Nothing happens
Son zebra returns

Son thinks
father zebra
does not make sense

Son goes again and again
Son convinced father is wrong
Until one day….

Zebra

From Africa is the zebra.
Nowhere else does it roam
Innately, wild and free—
But in Africa, its home.

It feasts with the wildebeest,
And migrates with the same—
Steering clear of lions there,
Which sees it as fair game.

But, oh, the lovely zebra
With its stripes unique,
Brings a certain flair to life.
‘Tis nature's own mystique.

Zebra Child

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

My father skin is fare like a pinkish cloud.
My mother skin is dark like coco.
My skin is both swirled into a light caramel color.

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

My eyes are hazel with a hint of blue.
My hair is kinky yet manageable.
While I have African hips
I also have European lips.

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

I relish my difference
Although some times
I envy others similarity.

But I am what I am.

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

If Giraffe loves Zebra?

In the Zoo
I relaxed a while
Leaving all the burdens.
'Hey! Master please write something for me.'
Giraffe begged.
'If I have a long neck like you
I could have easily peep into my next door spinster's room.'
'It's about you Sir and nothing for me.'
Then I wrote again.
'If Giraffe mates with Zebra
How nice will be the offspring? '
'Thank you very much Sir!
From tomorrow onwards
I try to catch the Zebra in the adjoining cage.
He must be happy, believe me Sir
Still I am a Virgin.'
'It's not a miracle being in the Zoo
But really it's hard to survive
If you're in the jungle.'
Like a girl she smiled shyly.

The Raconteur tells about the Election

A Zealot has painted his stubborn mule black & white stripes.
And then the mule became a Zebra.
This idiot wants to enrol his pet to the coming race.
Early in the morning he goes to the racecourse with his Zebra for practice.
There are no any restrictions it seems
Donkeys, mules, ponies, zebras and dogs all are allowed for the annual rat race?

A Mother's Protection

The zebra foal's Mother was wise,
She kept the foal at bay,
So that no other zebra tries
To coax her foal away...
And so they bond the first few days,
Beneath the searing sun
And thus the foal with Mother stays...
Its life has just begun.

Together now and side-by-side,
The two unite with love,
A sight that fills the Lord with pride
As He looks from above...
For love is all that has true worth,
To stand the test of time...
Ask anyone upon this Earth,
They'll tell you it's sublime...

The foal is destined to survive,
If given proper care
And left to live will surely thrive
With Mother standing there...
As decades come, as decades go,
Each zebra roams the land,
Content to see the whole herd grow
The way that God has planned...

Our life looks like a zibra

Our life looks like a zebra,

sometimes black stripes,
sometimes white.

The black stripes

take turn of the white,

like day and night.

And sometimes

our life zebra kicks

making it's own tricks.

Zebra World (Not Animal Related)

The world is still going on about the color of others skin
We need to be more like a zebra a mixture of black and white
So much racism
Hard to walk down the street without seeing a racial war
I can't take this s**t anymore
Who cares if your black, white, or even asian
We all function the same
I don't know where this started, and I don't know who to blame
Someone tell me why we fire upon each other
So what if blacks were slaves many years ago
Don't blame whites for there ancestors mistakes
Now white people stop looking at skin color
See who they are on the inside
We are no different
Its time to end this stupid fighting
Now its time for peace
Lets all work together
In creating this zebra world.

Who does she think she is....

I asked the Zebra:

Are you black with white stripes?
Or white with black stripes?

And the zebra asked me:

Are you good with bad habits?
Or are you bad with good habits?
Are you noisy with quiet times?
Or are you quiet with noisy times?
Are you happy with some sad days?
Or are you sad with some happy days?
Are you neat with some sloppy ways?
Or are you sloppy with some neat ways?

And on and on and on and on
And on and on he went.

I’ll never ask a zebra

About stripes

Again

Nice Place To Visit

Not really lookin for, for nothing special,
Just someplace that I can call my own,
Im growing tired of, of running wild,
Its time I settled down
Bridge:
There seems to be some lights on,
But aint nobody home
I think I see some lights on,
But there aint nobody home
Aint being choosy, but
Dont want no floozy,
And thats not much to ask
Chorus:
Shes a nice place to visit (3x)
But I wouldnt want to live her,
Nice place to visit
Hey, is anybody home?
Seeing is believing,
But looks can be deceiving,
What you get aint always what you see
I like what s down there,
But no one is upstairs,
I think theres bats in the belfry
Chorus
I dont know whats come over me,
Im blinded by the scenery,
Nice place to visit,
I dont know what Im gonna do
Im coming back because of you,
Nice place to visit, visit, visit...
Bridge
This big bad wolf knows
Which way the wind blows,
And which little piggys house is made of brick,
Must have vacated, or mislocated,
Theres just toys, toys in the attic
Chorus (hey, is anybody home? )
Knock, knock, whos there?
Shes a nice place to visit (2x)

I Would Love To Go To Africa

I would love to go to Africa to see the wildlife there
To bring away from there great memories that with others i could share
To see the Serengeti the World's greatest wildlife park
And hear the male lions roaring and hear the wild dogs bark.

I would love to go to Africa to the Countries of the Nile
The home of the World's largest reptile the African crocodile
To see the wildebeest and zebra in huge flocks congregate
Across the bare savanna in thousands they migrate.

I would love to go to Africa the cradle of humanity
As long as marvellous wildlife there's colorful people for to see
The indigenous people of a Continent that is as old as time
A Land sketched by great artists and that has inspired writers to story, song and rhyme.

I would love to visit Africa from here many a mile
To see the World's greatest Continent would be something well worthwhile
The cradle of humanity a Land beyond compare
Of there i would have such great memories with others for to share.

Who Are We?

Who are we?
Are we humans that have made ourselves provisions?
The hierarchy results in collisions
And we are unique, in the way we were.
The zebra is like a page of writing,
And we do not write like animals.
Our character is defined by the sun,
Making tools is our lust and our shade.
Let feelings be ridding us of pride
For this emotion is so huge that we suffer.
Occupy levels pleasing to the human soul.

I Dreamt I Was In Africa

I dreamt I was in Africa neath Serengeti sky
I heard the wild dogs barking, the spotted hyenas cry,
I heard the male lion roaring his anger pierced the night,
I dreamt I was in Africa neath African moonlight.

The elephants were trumpeting on Serengeti plain,
The sun dried grass all eaten the parched earth cried for rain,
The wildebeest and zebra had wandered far away
And Serengeti silent in the searing heat of day.

I dreamt I was in Africa the drought was at an end
The thunder and the lightning And rain came with the wind,
The ponds and rivers flooded, the once parched plains now green
And widebeest and zebra in thousands to be seen.

The moon shines in the heavens and the hunting jackals bark
In Tanzania in East Africa in Serengeti National Park
The grazing hippos grunting and the wild hyenas scream
And I was in East Africa if only in a dream.

Animal Boy

Gonna kill and destroy
I'm not an Animal Boy
Why don't they understand
I'm not an ape man

Don't have brain damage
I'm not an a wild savage
Don't push me around
Don't bring my head down

Animal Boy
Animal Boy
Animal Boy

I'm not an imbecile
Don't treat me like an animal
I'm not a creature in the zoo
Don't tell me what to do

Animal Boy
Animal Boy
Animal Boy

You don't know what it's like
You don't know how I feel
I don't have a monkey's brain
I'm not an animal

You can't lock me in a cage
This ain't the Stoneage
Better get out of my way
Someone's gonna have to pay

Animal boy

High Spirits

High spirits made the zebra leap,
For joy within his soul
Was something precious he could keep,
If he let slip control...
Within a crowd, where he felt safe,
No tension spoilt his day...
And in these moments, living faith
Cast all his doubts away...
Now like a child, he kicked up dust!
His front legs rode thin air!
Safety in numbers caused such trust,
So he shook off each care!
The zebras laughed like zebras do...
They cackled one-by-one...
Although this wasn't something new,
Unshackled fears brought fun!
Some others copied what he did!
Like each of them agreed...
With joy of life no longer hid,
Their joy was joy indeed!
If only we could imitate
The zebra now and then,
We'd learn life's here to celebrate,
For death comes, who knows when?
It's why we often hum a tune
With half-remembered words...
Or stare at stars beyond the moon
Or whistle back at birds...
High spirits come and go, my friend...
It's not as if they're planned...
But when they come, on this depend,
You'll love Love's Wonderland!

by Stephen Gayford called 'High Spirits'.
