A Birthday Poem for Ligaya
With joy you work,
With joy you talk,
Your joy puts others at ease,
Time with you they wouldn't miss.
I see your joy, when from Germany you come,
laying down your presents for me, one by one,
clothes, cosmetics, chocolates and cheese.
your choices always right, how come?
I sense your joy, when in turn, you see
my gifts of pink pearls custom-made for me,
'though they're used, your eyes shine brightly,
with Philippine-made bags, you receive them with glee.
You are joy
as Joy you are named
with kin and friend
your joy is shared.
You are in this lifetime as my sister born,
through ups and downs we've come,
verbal fights and silent wars long gone,
freely fond feelings fanned.
Your joys are my joys,
My joys are your joys,
May they flow endlessly
as we grow spiritually.
Happy birthday with all best wishes!
(For my sister, Ligaya (Joy), on her birthday-13 June/10: 40 P.M. 12 June 2007/Pasig City, Philippines)

Oh Happy Birthday, Happy Birhday
I want to wish you a Happy Birthday
It was the day that you were born
Birthday oh Happy Birthday is the day.
Come see all the presents on the table
There is also a cake with many candles
It is a lucky day for all that are able.
Happy, Happy Birthday my good friend
It is a span that comes only once a year
Enjoy the moment till it comes to an end.
You see the lights are still fiery on the cake
There waiting for you to blow them out
Please will you do your part and stay awake
No tears please not allowed on this occasion
I know age grows older on this event
Why I don’t know, time doesn’t go on vacation
So happy salutes to you on your moment
Cherish the time it will never return
Celebrate, give, smile and try to be consent.
The lights are finally out on your cake,
And all the gifts were ripped open
All seemed to end in a sudden break.
Happy Birthday and hope you enjoyed the day
No more presents and no more wishes
Now one has to grow and see what comes this way.

Early Works - My Birthday Blues
You wake up in the morning
full of the joys of spring
just want to sing and sing,
fresh as a daisy
under a newborn sun
that’s when my birthday blues begun.
The lonely feeling of being
the only one in the world,
no cards from the postman,
no presents from anyone
not even a many happy returns of the day.
Just another day passing
along life’s highway
with no one to notice the stranger - me.
No smiling faces,
no happy words,
only sad things,
and tears of the lonely
my birthday blues linger on.
18 June 1981
Authors Note:
This was actually written on my birthday in 1981 but I cannot recall what prompted me to write it. I know there was sadness in the house because of the loss of a dearly loved pet the week before.

Happy Birthday to YOU! ! !
Happy Birthday to YOU
Whether you did something wrong or right,
Happy Birthday to YOU.
It's your day to be happy,
It's your day to be you.
To let your troubles fade and your light shine.
For it is the day that was meant for you.
The day that God made just for you,
It may be shared with someone else, but secretly in your mind you know that it's just for you.
So again I say Happy Birthday to YOU
Whether you did something wrong or right,
Happy Birthday to You.
Don't let anyone put you down on your Birthday.
Stand up and say...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! ! !

A Sister Is Special
A sister is special
And that is true
For all the things
That she wishes to do
To make you happy
And inside glad
And change for you
Things all bad
A sister is a pal
A sister is a friend
With whom you don't feel
Any need to pretend
For your pains and joys
To her are known
And she thinks of them
As her own
So thank god for
Giving you a gift
In the form of a sis
For your uplift.

My dear friend happy birthday
i may not have the best rhymes today
but few words i'll like to say
i wish you happiness on this special day
my dear friend happy birthday
God has made it this way
guarding you by night and by day
for boyhood to roll away
and men stage to come and stay
my dear friend happy birthday
sweet memories are here to stay
smiles, hugs and gifts on display
many talk about old time and rough play

Hello September!
You came sooner that expected?
I was still saying bye to Augustine
But September you look sad today?
Sorry! I can't hear you properly, your tone is low
Why are you blushing and looking down?
I know about the death of your sister
Be strong September
Your presents here bought bad news, i know
Its normal for you to feel that way, you are a human being too
Its fine you will be fine
By the way you look uncertain today
Where is your brother October?
Ooh! I see him right behind you, weaving a hand for me
Hi October too, no i wasn't talking to you
I was talking to you friend September here
And I have just said bye to Augustine
Is not your friend? Is your brother! Ok
September here is telling me about the death of his sister
Who was laid to rest previous weekend?
Its sad news is in it?
Before you came I asked him about my birthday
He smiled and said is not the 23rd yet
I told him that there are bad times and Good times
Let's wait for my birthday and see what it has in store for him
To easy away his mourning
But gifts I can't buy gifts for him on my birthday
I told him to forget it, he must buy gifts for me
By the way September, what is you birthday?
Don't laugh I am asking you
You don't have one? Or you mother
Don't remember the day in which you where born?
Every body has birthday? Is it?
Can I borrow you my birthday
But it wouldn't fit you?
You have big hand, big head and long legs September
When you were born people where playing with water?
Do they know that water is life?
So you don't have clothes too
Ok you, December, November and January you are tall
You don't have a size
But it is not good for you to walk naked
People see things on you
You should cover your self with rain or clouds
Sorry if I sound rude to you.
But tell me why your mother has so many kids
You are twelve at home is in it?
And you have four children of you own
They have seven children of their own.
You family is big 12 brothers and sisters
Their children including yours are 52
And great grand children are 365
Don't ask me how did I know, I know your family members
They all like to come at home
I like you and your brothers and sisters
You come at home once in a year but you overstay, why?
I mostly like your elder brother, when ever he visits people give us gifts
And we spent the whole month not going to school or work
To relax until he is gone,
Why he likes rain and snow, he was born on rainy day or something?
But you great grand children they come at home everyday!
And you father is worse,
When he comes he wait for 12 of you to go first be fore he goes
When I come here to met you, September?
I left Monday at home and he said
Tuesday was on her way coming.
I have you to go now? September?
Ok you can go, I will have a little talk with October?
It's always a pleasure talking to you
And having you around September?
Please visit again some time soon

You Were There
By eric clapton
We made the distance,
Yeah, we made the day.
You made all the difference
'cause you found the way.
Without your wisdom
Lord, where would we be
Lost in the wilderness,
Somewhere out at sea.
But you were there
Through the days of wine and madness,
When i'd always put you down.
You were there
Through my joys and my sadness
And you never let me down.
You found the meaning
And helped me to see
Where i was going to
All that i could be.
Without permission
You turned the key.
You climbed the prison wall
Deep inside of me.
You were there
Through the days of wine and madness
When i'd turn and put, put you down.
You were there
Through my joys and my sadness
And you never let me down.
You were there
Through the days of wine and madness
When i'd turn and put, put you down.
You were there
Through my joys and my sadness
And you never let me down.
Let me down.
You were there.
You were there.
You were there.

Happy Birthday
You know it doesnt make much sense
There ought to be a law against
Anyone who takes offense
At a day in your celebration
cause we all know in our minds
That there ought to be a time
That we can set aside
To show just how much we love you
And Im sure you would agree
It couldnt fit more perfectly
Than to have a world party on the day you came to be
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
I just never understood
How a man who died for good
Could not have a day that would
Be set aside for his recognition
Because it should never be
Just because some cannot see
The dream as clear as he
That they should make it become an illusion
And we all know everything
That he stood for time will bring
For in peace our hearts will sing
Thanks to martin luther king
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Why has there never been a holiday
Where peace is celebrated
All throughout the world
The time is overdue
For people like me and you
Who know the way to truth
Is love and unity to all gods children
It should never be a great event
And the whole day should be spent
In full remembrance
Of those who lived and died for the oneness of all people
So let us all begin
We know that love can win
Let it out dont hold it in
Sing it loud as you can
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
Ooh yeah
Happy birthday...
We know the key to unify all people
Is in the dream that you had so long ago
That lives in all of the hearts of people
That believe in unity
Well make the dream become a reality
I know we will
Because our hearts tell us so

Merry Christmas Santa Happy New Year!
Joys can come in many ways -
Especially on our Christmas Days:
New presents wrapped exquisitely...
New presents unwrapped expertly!
In times like these, the heart beats fast
For Christmas Day has come at last!
Excitement tempts us take a peak!
Remembered lists of gifts we seek!
If only all our days were so:
Season's wishes would overflow!
Look here! Look there! Look everywhere!
Our hopes and dreams fulfilled by prayer!
Visits by friends and folks we love -
Each acting gentle as a dove!
Lights on Christmas trees that cheer!
Yet Christmas joys come ONCE a year!

Wish you didn’t have to leave us,

Please come back, we can’t be through!
My heart is still with thee!

A Birthday Song
What's new in this September?
when I looked at the calendar.
Today is 13th day.
It's my sister's birthday.
I don't know if she knows it
But I almost forgot it.
Then I went to Facebook
To give my sister a surprised look.
I can't buy anything expensive
But I have something special to give.
I wrote a little song.
I called it ' A Birthday Song '.
I don't know if it's worth it.
But I'm sure it's not gonna be wasted.
It's a five-words quote
To my sister,25 years old.
' Happy Birthday to My Sister '
And Let's party together.

Joys Of Christmas
I see all the tough guys still not 25
Dying on their feet
Coughing, honking, cadging cigarettes
And still out on the street
Well, they got no money, nowhere to go
Fathers of 2, 3 maybe 4, what are they gonna do
Jimmy got a busted mouth in a fight last night
He says hes ok
Going down to the workies club (thats a laugh)
To buy something strong and take the pain away
Joys of christmas
Joys of christmas
Northern style
Flashing christmas light of police blue
Go spinning down the street
Women try to drag the men from pubs
Into the stores
And work hands in empty pockets deep
We stand outside the neon ice and wish ourselves the best
He says hes ok, out of work and fighting
Is all hes ever known
And laughs and says I worry too much anyway
Joys of christmas
Joys of christmas
Northern style
Lets drink to the likes of jim
Before we all go insane
And please dont ask me why
Itll take too long to explain
Joys of christmas

Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Well, its time to celebrate your birthday, it happens every year
Well eat a lot of broccoli and drink a lot of beer
You should be good and happy that theres something you can eat
A million npeople every day are starving in the street
Your daddys in the gutter with the wretched and the poor
Your mamas in the kitchen with a can of cycle four
Theres garbage in the water
Theres poison in the sky
I guess it wont be long before were all gonna die
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Well, whats the matter little friend, you think this party is the pits
Enjoy it while you can, well soon be blown to bits
The monkeys in the pentagon are gonna cook our goose
Their fingers on the button, all they need it an excuse
It doesnt take a military genius to see
Well all be crispy critters after world war iii
Theres nowhere you can run to, nowhere you can hide
When they drop the big one, we all get fried
(come on boys and girls, sing along, ok? )
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Wow! (background screaming, sound effect)
Well theres a punk in the alley and hes looking for a fight
Theres an arab on the corner buying everything in sight
Theres a mother in the ghetto with another mouth to feed
Seems that everywhere you look today theres misery and greed
I guess you know the earth is gonna crash into the sun
But thats no reason why we shouldnt have a little fun
So if you think its scary, if its more than you can take
Just blow out the candles and have a piece of cake
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Wow!
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday
Happy birthday to you
(happy birthday!)
And a pinch to grow an inch!

The Joy Of The Lord Is Your Strength
Joy is a fruit that will not grow
In nature's barren foil;
All we can boast, till Christ we know,
Is vanity and toil.
But where the Lord has planted grace;
And made his glories known;
There fruits of heavenly joy and peace
Are found, and there alone.
A bleeding Saviour seen by faith,
A sense of pard'ning love;
A hope that triumphs over death,
Give joys like those above.
To take a glimpse within the veil,
To know that God is mine;
Are springs of joy that never fail,
Unspeakably divine!
These are the joys which satisfy,
And sanctify the mind;
Which make the spirit mount on high,
And leave the world behind.
No more, believers, mourn your lot,
But if you are the Lord's
Resign to them that know him not,
Such joys as earth affords.

Baby Sister.
I have heard people grumble
'I wish I had a sister so humble'
with whom I can share everything
My shoes, my clothes and my earing
A sister who helped me during my projects
A sister whom I always needed for consent
A sister fights with me endlessly
Yet who helps me selflessly
A sister with whom I share all my thoughts
without thinking I should tell her or not
A sister who helps sharing my chores
A sister who sometimes acts too stubborn
A sister whom I boss over
A sister who understands my every fear
A sister who wants me to shop
And when I tease her she begins to hop
Love you dear sister for always being there
I promise for you I'll always be there :)

Happy Birthday Jesus
(Ill open this one for you)
(arranged by reba mcentire)
Now kids hang on just a second before we start
You know theres a reason we are all here in front of grandma and
Grandpas
Christmas tree
And if trevor and e.p. would quit fighting long enough and be real
Quiet
This little song might help ya understand
Long ago in a stable there was a baby being born
His parents were joseph and mary
And josephs big ole heart was torn
Cause he couldnt find a decent place for mary to have her child
But mary said it just seemed just right and she blessed it with her
Smile
Chorus:
Cause what made it special was the baby in her arms
God sent him down to give the world a second chance for you and i
Thats why we have christmas at this time each year
Its the babys birthday party that brings us so much cheer
Now kids the presents that all of you exchange on christmas
Represents the gifts that baby jesus received the night he was born
He got all his presents from three wise men
Who followed a star
And walked a long long way to the stable
So everytime you tear open one of your presents
Think about that baby and say
Happy birthday jesus
Ill open this one for you
Repeat chorus
Ok all together now
Happy birthday jesus
Ill open this one just for you
