12th year Anniversary!
12 Year Anniversary
As I was praying
And hoping
That the lord would grant me my wish
To take a hand of a perfect HUSBAND
Who would treat me right and with much love
Just like He who is above
Many times I wanted
Many times I cried
But it was my lustful flesh, in me
That wouldn't let my godly spirit be
HOW LONG!
Must I wait was my constant cry
I want a boy friend
A husband before my patience will die!
Years later my relationship with the lord grew
As well with my character and patience too!
AT LAST! my PRAYER came TRUE!
A HUSBAND who treats me right and with much love
Just like Him who is above
Now here we are, our 12 year anniversary
And this is my LOVE STORY

Are You a Good Husband?
All married men want to be called a good husband
A good husband is a decent husband
Mr. Husband what you done to deserve this decency?
Has your wife ever referred to you as her good husband?
It is known that the eyes cannot see itself
Unless by reflection. Have you ever asked
Your wife for a performance appraisal
Honey, how did I perform last year?
On a scale of one to ten, one for very poor
Ten for excellent, how did I perform?
Your wife may think you are now on new drugs
If you receive less than six, you need to
Start fence mending before it is too late
A good husband sees his wife as his friend
A nice husband treats his wife as his lover
A decent husband regards his wife as a soul-mate
You should anticipate what your wife
Will need before she makes any request
By the way, have you ever bought a gift
For your wife without an occasion?
Do you have to wait for her birthday?
To inform her that she is very special to you?
Do you have to wait for your wedding anniversary?
To tell her that she is the best thing in your life
When last did you talk to your wife in-laws?
When last did you visit your wife in-laws?
What have you done to be called a good husband?
Ask for performance appraisal on a regular basis
Remember, if you make your wife happy
You will get happiness in return

A Husband...
A husband should be
Loyal and honest
A husband should be
Strong and protective
A husband should be
Loving and romantic
A husband should be
Patient and understanding
A husband should know
When enough is enough
A husband should know
When to fight and when to cry
A husband should know
all your goals and dreams
A husband should know
your strengths and well as your weaknesses
A husband needs to be a true man
A husband needs to love you unconditionally
A husband needs to know your heart is forever his

Happy 4th Year Anniversary
Happy 4th Year Wedding Anniversary
To my dearest loving husband Ranny.
I praise the Lord for another year have passed
And thanking Him for more years with you to surpass
In this world of uncertainty and perplexity
God united us with charity and purity
There are no words to explain the feelings I have
How grateful I am to have you as my behalf
I will always be thankful to God
For the gift of love, He instill into our hearts
There is no perfect marriage, I know
But God give us love to treasure and nurture too
Love, respect, trust, and faithfulness to you will I give
As I had vowed to God on the altar of our marriage

Happy Anniversary
I really miss you on this special day
I know you will call to greet me today
“Happy Anniversary” that’s all we can say
Yes, I am lonely ‘cause you’re so far away
But don’t worry, I can manage anyway
Seems like only yesterday when we took our vows
We said “I do” as tears were on my eyes
We took our pledge to share life together
Through thick and thin our love will be stronger
We promised, life will be filled with joys and laughter
That was nineteen years ago
And still I’m madly in love with you
Love matures yet we stay young at hearts
‘Cause we try to keep the flame inside
We keep our passion to lights our desires
We have endured the ups and downs of life
We’ve struggled so much and we survived
I can’t believe we’d get this far
Though sometimes we had fights and doubts
We’re able to retain that love in us
Today, I will take the chance
To say thank you for all the good times
Thank you for understanding and loving me
Thank you for sticking by my side
Thank you for giving us a decent life
May the precious moments we cherish
And the hopes and dreams we recall
Make this anniversary the best of all
Let us ask our Almighty Lord
To grant us more years of greater joy
Happy Anniversary my dear husband

Our Love Story Without End
As the days, roll on into years, one thing remains unchanged
The love I found, when I first met you, has never disappeared
It grows stronger, and gets better, with each year
In our love story without end
One day in December, I came a long, I remember still
You, in your tower on the hill
Wrapped up in gold, like the color of the sun, you shone
Then hid, scared of what was to come
Our love story without end
I took you away, I was handsome, back then
Wrapped you in my arms, as the fog rolled over the shore
So began, our love story without end
And on this day, our anniversary
I recall, all the good times that we shared
And thank you for the joy, you have given me
Thank you for the joy, you have given me
As the days, roll on into years, one thing remains unchanged
The love I found, when I first met you, has never disappeared
It grows stronger, and gets better, with each year
In our love story without end
How do you stop, the wind from blowing, our love is strong, it's never ending
True, I'm so in love with you
Grow old with me, take me higher, your smile is a gift, I'll always treasure
It's true, I'm so in love with you
And on this day, our anniversary
I recall, all the good times that we shared
And thank you for the joy, you have given me
Thank you for the joy, you have given me

One Day Less
Happy anniversary baby
the years are rushing by us
your more beautiful today
Then we walked down the aisle
And I know im not good at this
What I'm trying to say is
Having you stand beside me
has made my life worth while
One true friend is what you've always been to me
One true friend is what I always wanted to be
To have someone love you
Thats true happiness
May you live to be a 100
May I live one day less
There were times when we scraped by
A year or two and it was rough
I love you more for what we went through
And never stopped beliving in us
And I know I'm one of the lucky ones
I couldnt ask for anything more
Cause you can have all the money you'll ever need
and spend your life looking for
One true friend is what you've always been to me
One true friend is what I always wanted to be
To have someone love you
Thats true happiness
May you live to be a 100
May I live one day less
I couldn't live without you
If I had to be alone
I'll be waiting on the other side
When you find your way home
To One true friend is what you've always been to me
One true friend is what I always wanted to be
To have someone love you
Thats true happiness
May you live to be a 100
May I live one day less

The Faithful Wife
The faithful wife in the Christ
Obeys her husband's word;
Claims her own authority
By calling her husband, lord.
She will love her husband dearly
As she submits unto his hand,
Teaches younger women so
In this her family stands.
The faithful wife perceives in God
Her husband is given rule;
As he submits unto the Lord
But a rebellious wife is a fool.

Booby Prize Or A Fine Romance? 2
Yesterday I wrote a joke poem,
Booby Prize Or A Fine Romance,
it told the story of how I met my wife,
all those years ago.
Yes, it was at her first husband’s funeral,
and yes a group of us
met a couple weeks later in a coffee bar,
but no it was not the drawing of a straw,
it was that I volunteered,
which I guess was lucky for me,
because on the 12th of September this year
we celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary.
Her first husband was a friend,
but he was a womaniser.
He met his dead in a suicide pact
with a fourteen-year-old girl.
He left a wife and two small children,
without a thought or care,
a month before Christmas that year.
Some said I was brave
to take on a ready-made family.
I do not think I was brave,
but very lucky that day.
We have had our ups and downs
like all families do,
but I would not change a bit of it.
The greatest gifts I received that day,
was a family for a lonely life,
and tolerance through trouble and strife.
Therefore, it is with thanks to them,
I am the man I am today.

I don’t want a fall in love at first sight kind of love
I don’t want a puppy love kind of love
I don’t want an only in my dream kind of love
I want a happy anniversary kind of love
I want a look into your eyes
And know you will always be mine

A silver, pearl, coral, ruby, sapphire kind of love

I want a happy anniversary kind of love

Suppose She Cannot Live By Trust
She married him for love alone he seemed a charming man
And she told her friends the World's greatest husband is my Stan
But love is blind or so they say which in her case is so true
And there is more far more to love than saying I love you.
He told her he loved her many times but words not hard to say
And after eight months of marriage he left her for some one new life often is that way
His little son who turned three in early February
He has not met and it would seem he has no desire to see.
With a married man she is having a clandestine affair
The husband of a friend of her's though with her one secret she will not share
That her husband with her is having his quiet bit on the side
By such secrets when they are leaked friendships have been destroyed.
What her ex husband has done to her to her friend she now do
Suppose she cannot live by trust if trust she never knew
Suppose she could find a single man to fulfil her sexual need
But she does not need one without ties for her that to love might lead.
And that to hurt again could lead by love she has been hurt before
And the burned child she dreads the fire she won't go back for more
She plays tennis with her lover's wife but to her she never say
Your husband he made love to me in my bedroom yesterday.

A Golden Symphony
A Golden Symphony
of unconditional love
so unlike the setting sun
your two loving hearts
shines forever
Enduring love like yours
grows stronger and stronger
years by year
50 to be exact
Two people united in Holy Matriomony
50 years ago to be exact
There's no Sweetie
without the Sweetheart
A love so complete
that holds one another together
A Wonderful husband, A beautiful Wife
Great Children, Greater Grandchildren
what better angels
could take this journey together
So today, on your 50th Anniversary,
know that you are 'Trully Blessed'
By all the people who you hold dear
in your hearts, and wish you
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

My Husband My Love
Passion and friendship started this love affair
And total friendship, had to much to share
I with my baggage, so broken from the past
You with yours, wanted a love that could last
We must have talked hours on the phone each day
At might in my head, our conversations I’d replay
You were so gentle, the kindest man I ever knew
I was so afraid, but my trust because of you grew
I had kissed so many toads to find my prince
You’ve been understanding and loving ever since
The happiest day, was when I became your wife
I’ll love you forever dear, you are my life
At times, we may have our ups and downs
Will have lots of laughs and no more frowns
I write this as our anniversary gets near
To let you know you are very dear
With all my love to my wonderful husband and best friend
Any heartache I had, you could mend
Thank you for these glorious years
With lots of smiles and no more tears!

She Matters
Unless she matters, where's the love?
Her thoughts aren't his to bend...
In marriage, strength proves not enough,
Unless used as a friend...
When the husband chose a helpmate,
He didn't choose a slave...
He shouldn't turn from love to hate,
As if control to crave...
Unless she matters, all is lost,
Temptation leads astray
And many men must count the cost,
As if like Judgment Day...
When Lord Jesus showed compassion
To those He met on Earth,
Did Lord Jesus choose to ration
According to their worth?
If marriage is God's gift to Man
And most would say it is,
The husband must do what he can
To make that marriage bliss.
Yes, we know to God she matters,
God hears her prayers as well...
His finger now points at us,
If we've sad tales to tell...
That's why some pray with hearts of gold
Until their first love cools,
But then they bicker and they scold
Like unforgiving fools...
The wife is his and his alone,
United, they will stand,
So perfect patience can be known,
Just as the Lord has planned.

The Creator And A Barren Woman
A barren woman had been praying for a child for long,
Then after many years without hope the Creator heard her prayers;
Then the Creator said to her: 'A year today you will give birth'.
This is the story of the Creator and a barren woman:
A year after the barren woman gave birth to a child.
Now, she started to complain again to the Creator;
Because, she has no time to take care of the child.
'Oh, i am too tired of taking care of this child';
And the Creator was very patience.
'Oh, i cannot take care of this child any longer';
And the Creator was very patience again.
'Oh, i have given my husband a child but i cannot take care of him';
This child was a son and then, the Creator said to the woman:
'When you were baren you did cried out for a child but,
Now that you've got one you also crying daily for his upkeep';
'Well, the wants of mankind are many and mankind is NOT satisfied'.
Yes, we are all living on this earth;
With stories and the things that we see around us;
But mankind is really NOT satisfied, whether barren or with a child.

Two Fortune Tellers Said
When Vera and I first met,
a second marriage
was the last thing on her mind.
Her first husband had not long run off
with a fourteen year old
and left this world in a suicide pact.
Some years earlier,
a Fortuneteller had told her
she would never end her days with him.
She would meet a tall dark person
sooner than she thought.
She shrugged off the suggestion,
as she never wanted to marry again.
With a failed marriage
that only brought her grief.
She was not going to take the chance again.
Once was enough.
She could never trust
anyone again.
Years earlier in my life
a Fortuneteller told me
I would settle down
with someone with the initial D.
My way of thinking that was a Christian name
like Dorothy or Diane,
but not a surname.
When her husband died
being a friend I attended his funeral,
never dreaming that one day
his widow would
eventually become my wife.
After all her name began
with a V and not a D.
Then a group of his friends
met one night in a coffee bar.
Someone suggested one of us
take her out for an evening.
As there were no takers,
so I volunteered.
However, I joke about it now.
We went out together
time and time again.
When I asked her to marry me,
she wasn’t really sure.
Memories of her previous marriage
kept plaguing her,
but eventually she said yes.
After we were married,
she could not totally trust.
Even though she was reassured
that I was not like her first husband
and wouldn’t cheat on her.
That I wasn’t like that.
Almost two years passed
before trust slowly returned.
It was then she realised
that I was the one
the Fortuneteller had told her about.
You cannot get much taller than six foot three.
As for me and the initial D.
Vera’s married surname
began with the initial D.
Here we are through troubles thick and thin
fast approaching
our 38th Wedding Anniversary.
We’ve hardly been parted
within those years.
Not because of distrust,
but because of love.
We get lonely
whenever we are apart.
Now as for fortune-tellers,
I’m not sure what to believe.
It would seem a coincidence
that two different people
would predict our lives together.
This is true and I wonder
was it just a lucky guess,
or is there more to it.
I’ll let you decide.

I have maya for mother in law
I have Maya for mother-in-law,
the world for father-in-law;
three brothers-in-law, like tigers;
and the husband’s thoughts
are full of laughing women;
no god, this man,
And I cannot cross the sister-in-law.
But I will
give this wench the slip
and go cuckold my husband with
Hara, my Lord.
My mind is my maid:
by her kindness, I join
my Lord,
my utterly beautiful Lord
from the mountain peaks,
my lord white as jasmine,
and I will make Him
my good husband

My ex-mother in law
My ex-mother in law
was an unusual person
that could wish others
into death
and when my ex-wife’s
first husband died from cancer
she believed
that the Lord God
answered her prayer
and for me
she also prayed a thousand times
that same prayer
and fasted
and put tears with it
although I didn’t really
deserve it,
but here I am still
and it’s another story.
Her husband
falls down on the golf course
and is dead from a heart attack
and he hits his last ball
away into the bushes
without any control.
At the funeral
I had to help carry the coffin,
wash dishes
and what ever
my mother in law asked.
Father in law
had a small black dog
that went everywhere with him
and smoked pipe
like Van Donck
cannot stoke up on table mountain
and the dog
then also had to die
although it was great in health
and could still live for years.
I had to take mother in law
to the vet
as she couldn’t drive a car
and hold the animal
while he got
a last injection
and dig a grave
in the garden
and put him there.
l’Envoi
Now I wonder
what goes into such a person
that after her husband’s death,
she is finished
with every thing of his
and married
in months again
with somebody
to keep her company?

My Bestie and her hubbie
To my best friend and her husband of one year
In my heart I hold you both so very dear
When I'm in a quandary you are always around
And most of the time I find your advice pretty sound!
It's great to see you both so happy
It wont be long before you are changing nappies
And with a new house in the pipeline too
The future indeed looks extremely bright for you
So today, the anniversary of your first year of marriage
Wishing you many more plus good health and happiness
I hope all your wishes and dreams are fulfilled
And may more Baby Barnes' you will yield!

The Muse I Once Had
Wrapped inside the cages of hedonistic
Byways, looking for the hemlock of the anniversary one
Last time,
At least I can say I kissed her lips and held on to
Her, and took her out into the waves
Even though she could not swim: which made all of the tourists
Watch us even more;
And we made love: and we made love in almost a year
Of adultery,
But all throughout those fiery nights, the souls of my
Words ran lonely-
And it got colder as more of the years approached:
She went back to him, sated and bent and subtle like
Soft wood I had imprinted with my telephone number:
And her two children, waiting for fireworks-
Hungry as rabbits- she said she was not a good mother,
But she would not leave them- A Mexican woman,
Her husband exhibiting entire control over her,
Except for with me- for this last year,
And the times we made love- now she is a lion,
A rose content to be a in a cage- and when I see her mother
Cleaning the windows of the Italian restaurant
Along Okeechobee Boulevard- working without
A smile, bent and overweight- I think of the muse I once had,
And I think that must be her.
