061011B feathered parade

rush of air from the beach
is most wanted heat relief
oh! i open my car windows
to clear my lungs upon gasp
i slowed down to almost stop
something happening in front

geese with goose-lings on march
they own the road like monarch
two geese stop letting young ones
cross first; that really amaze me
took longer; they're taking pictures
i already have one from golf course

The Goose who Loved Golf

On the flight path down from Quebec
in the recent past, they say,
The lead goose saw a foursome
on the fairway, hard at play.

Their clothing was intriguing
Bright Argyles and Staid plaids
Little lackeys followed them,
carrying their bags.

The goose brigade lost interest
in proceeding South that day.
Instead they landed on the course
intent on watching play.

The lead Goose now spent all his time
At Bethpage, on the Black,
and honked golf commentary
to all his fledgling flock.

This lead Goose was the First,
brave Avian pioneer,
who broke the pattern going South-
instead he wintered here.

The Geese are protected by the law,
so we have no recourse.
We can't hunt down these honkers
who are greasing up the course.

Within one human lifetime-
a revolutionary change.
the geese have all stopped flying South
They're students of the game.

For What It's Worth

[Originally by Buffalo Springfield]
There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Don't Stop
Don't Stop
Don't Stop
I gasp at him
(Silently)

He doesn't
Stop, doesn't
Stop, doesn't
Stop.
Though he
Hasn't
Heard me.

He doesn't
Know when
To stop…
The pleasure
Is mutual,
The pleasure
Is unstoppable.

Till I
Pull his
Head
Away
And
Heave
A sigh of
Relief.

Steamy Windows

I was thinking about parking the other night
We was out on a back road
Me and my baby was just getting right
Our systems going overload
The radio blasting in the front seat
Churning out the music fine
And we was snuggled up in the back seat
Making up for lost time
Chorus
Steamy windows
Zero visibility
Steamy windows
Coming from the body heat
You can wine and dine with the men all night
With good intent
But theres something about the confrontation on the back road
Breaks down the defense
Chorus
Steamy windows
Zero visibility
Steamy windows
Coming from the body heat
Steamy windows
Aint nobody can see
Steamy windows
Coming from the body heat
Theres a sound outside the front door
And I know thats just the wind
But it makes him snuggle up just a little bit closer
Starts things happening again
Repeat chorus

Duck! Don't Stick Your Neck Out

How many quacks does a quack quack quack
before he ducks for fish?
How many ducks does a quack quack duck
before his fish is fished?

How many geese's goose is cooked
because they ate up all the fish?
How many cooks cook geese
before their goose is cooked?

How many fowl fall foul
of fowl hunting cooks?
How many fowls' geese are cooked
before they flew from a foul hunting cook?

How many ducks' goose is cooked
because he didn't duck duck duck
when a fowl cook reached for his neck?

Can't Stop Now

Can't stop now (different than the version on reba live)
I can't say i didn't know what i was doing
I can't pretend things just got out of hand
I should of kept my distance
While i was still strong
But i got caught up in the feeling
Carrying along
But it's too late baby
I can't stop now
Well i walked right in with my eyes wide open
But i was blind when you told me you'd be mine
Just as soon as you were free
I should have slowed down
Before push came to shove
But i was already falling
Now too deep in love
And it's too late baby
I can't stop now
Chorus:
Can't stop now
Crazy heart running out of control
Can't stop now
I'll be falling apart somewhere down the road
I might be heading for a breakdown
But i can't stop now
Well i'm sitting here wondering
How i ever let myself fall
I keep hearing promises
But nothing seems to change it all
The love we made
Has got a life of it's own
It'll keep on going long after you're gone
Now it's too late baby
Can't stop now
Repeat chorus
I might be heading for a breakdown
But i can't stop now
I might be heading for a breakdown
But i can't stop now

The Moose and the Goose

The mighty mad moose said to the gentle gliding goose,
“It’s not fair you fly in formation while I suffer much abuse.
Wind and breeze are there as you fly first class.
I’m down here on the ground fighting weeds and grass.”

The flock of geese had just landed for some food and rest,
And here is this mighty mad moose acting like a real pest.
But the head gliding goose had a gentle reply,
“Mighty mad moose you’re upset and I don’t know why.”

“Each year we chart the route for you mighty moose.
We’re the train’s engine, while you have freedom of a caboose.
Pay attention to our direction as we geese pass over;
Then you moose will know the way and have time for clover.”

Sir moose replied, “You fly south for winter and return in spring.
So all I have to do is remember that one important thing.
As I browse through trees and brush, I need to raise my eyes
To see you all as you map our way through the skies.”

The attitude of mighty moose changed from mad to glad,
Since he understood the treasure that he really always had.
As the gentle gliding geese flew off in formation,
Mighty moose smiled and tipped his antlers in appreciation.

Bas-Relief

Five geese deploy mysteriously.
Onward proudly with flagstaffs,
Hearses with silver bugles,
Bushes of plum-blossoms dropping
For ten mystic web-feet--
Each his own drum-major,
Each charged with the honor
Of the ancient goose nation,
Each with a nose-length surpassing
The nose-lengths of rival nations.
Somberly, slowly, unimpeachably,
Five geese deploy mysteriously.

If We'd Stop!

if we'd stop shouting at each other...
if we'd stop shaking angry fists.
if we'd stop lying to ourselves.
if we'd stop running from the mirror.
if we'd stop playing religion and politics.
if we'd stop declaring war.
if we'd stop living by our taking...
if we'd stop pointing fingers.
if we'd stop pretending to be men and women...
only if we'd stop!

The Goose-Girl

I WANDERED lonely by the sea,
As is my daily use,
I saw her drive across the lea
The gander and the goose.
The gander and the gray, gray goose,
She drove them all together;
Her cheeks were rose, her gold hair loose,
All in the wild gray weather.

'O dainty maid who drive the geese
Across the common wide,
Turn, turn your pretty back on these
And come and be my bride.

I am a poet from the town,
And, 'mid the ladies there,
There is not one would wear a crown
With half your charming air!'

She laughed, she shook her pretty head.
'I want no poet's hand;
Go read your fairy-books,' she said,
'For this is fairy-land.
My Prince comes riding o'er the leas;
He fitly comes to woo,
For I'm a Princess, and my geese
Were poets, once, like you!'

The Ballad of Norman Jack and Billy

Summer days in sixty three
Happy carefree hours in play;
Three boys that could in no way know
The folly that would blight their day.

Jack turned out to meet big Norman
Finding bird's nests - couldn't wait;
They also called for smiling Billy,
Or 'Professor' to his mates.

Dusty tattered shoes that stepped
So lightly - not with careful tread,
Down the pebbled pathway, turning
Running through the wheat-field bed.

In the wood, much darker then,
But still they saw the nest on high;
The boy had almost reached his goal
Then from below he heard a cry.

The warning came too late, the farmer
Showed his power, they had a choice:
But not for them the 'cop-shop, ' no,
'We'll work, ' they answered with one voice.

And so the trio did, all wondering
How to pay the farmer back;
Plotting in their childish heads,
Norm, Professor and young Jack.

The cleaning was a tiresome chore,
For Bill the geese-pen was a pain;
But Jack was happy cleaning cars
And pouring polish down the drain.

Seeing this, his smile returning,
Billy gave the goose a kick;
'That'll teach the thing, ' he muttered,
'Pigs and geese they make me sick! '

When the farmer's rage subsided
And he thought they'd had enough,
Another lecture then he gave them,
Talk of trespassing and stuff.

'Off you go, and if I see you
Here once more you will regret
Ever coming on my land
You scallywags, go on now, get! '

'And close the gate as you go by,
You'll have the geese all running free; '
We sauntered off and I walked over
By the pen, as he'd bid me.

'Twas then the goose that Bill had kicked,
He saw his opportunity,
The whole flock joined in, just for fun,
And chased the lads and made them flee.

The farmer and his mate laughed hard,
The boys ran off at quite a lick;
The geese gave chase, and honked and pecked,
They looked like feathered lunatics!

Once free the trio heaved a sigh,
Red faced and cursing those two men;
But still they knew it was deserved,
'We'll never go near there again! '

Stop Dead

Stop!
Stop!
Stop dead,
Stop stop stop stop stop stop
I pulled up at a west end junction (seeker of attention)
A full body kit and bass bins pumping (size up competition)
Come on red light, get into green,
I hit the brake, I must be dreaming..
Im stop! (stop), dead! (dead), in my tracks (in my tracks)
Got to fix on you.
Dont wanna loose you, from my sight
Where ya going to?
Gotta know now..
Stop! (stop), dead! (dead), in my tracks (in my tracks)
Got to fix on you.
Dont wanna loose, you from my sight
Where ya going to?
Oh-oh-oh
Ive got my eyes on the action (killer reputation)
Heat crazed in full satisfaction (become a phaser? )
Do what you do and do it to me,
Body in motion, now you see me
(chorus)
Gotta know know.. stop!
Come on now, come on now
Come on now, come on now
Wise up to remain young victim (come on, ways of attraction)
A full scale attack on the system (come on, no one visor? )
Do what you do and do it to me,
Im into red line territory
And im..
(chorus)
Stop!, dead in my tracks again,
Im stop dead in my tracks
Stop!, in my tracks (yeah)
Im stop dead in my tracks
(oh-oh) gotta know know..
Stop! (stop), dead! (dead), in my tracks (in my tracks)
Stop! (stop), dead! (dead), in my tracks (in my tracks)
Stop! (stop), dead! (dead), in my tracks (in my tracks)

Cross My Heart

(hamish steward/sharon robinson)
Youre like a child within
The one who just wont give in
Oh how you love to play
I wanna understand
I wanna do all I can
I wanna make you stay
Where will I find you
Next time I lose you
Im just a fool for your touch
Cross my heart
I wanna love you
How can I love you
If you keep running away
Cross my heart
Its getting stronger
I cant wait much longer
You gotta stop running away
Your kisses are bittersweet
Alibies incomplete
I know what you didnt say
Now havent you had your fun
Is anything left undone
Why cant we meet half way
When will you find out
Now that the truths out
This is more than a careless romance
Cross my heart
I wanna love you
How can I love
If you keep running away
Cross my heart
Its getting stronger
I cant wait much longer
You gotta stop running away
True love is never quite enough
Its so unsure
Is it what youre dreaming of
Darling, its time you let me in
Maybe tonight
We can start again
Cross my heart
I wanna love you
How can I love you
If you keep running away
Cross my heart
Its getting stronger
I cant wait much longer
You gotta stop running away
Cross my heart
Its getting stronger
I cant wait much longer
You gotta stop running away
Cross my heart
Its getting stronger
I cant wait much longer
You gotta stop running away

Geese Park

Geese Park,
Resting Place,
In Accra;
And, the President of Ghana,
John Evans Atta Mills was laid to rest.

Geese, peacocks, pigeons, doves and docks!
In a clean envirinment to pay their respect;
But, with a big pond around under tight security.

Face out of sand,
Words out of mind,
Works out of hands;
With mourners dressed in Red and Black! !
And, his resting place was at the Geese Park.

The Feeling I Had

I cannot take the heat
This girls going home
Standing on my own two feet
Standing alone
Im just a little weary of
All the talk and all the buzz
And all I ever wanted was
The feeling I had with us
I cannot take the heat
I guess Im letting go
Im tired of stitching up my dreams with
This thread of hope
Im still a believer of
Twin hearts and timeless love
And all I ever wanted was
The feeling I had with us
All I ever wanted was
The feeling I had with us
The road of life is rugged
Any road you choose
And when I find the other side
Ill look for you
But I cannot take the heat
And so Ill say goodbye
A million things I never said
Didnt even try
cause words are cheap and sometimes cruel
And stuff you hear is seldom true
And all I ever wanted was
The feeling I had with you
Yeah, all I ever wanted was,
The feeling I had with you

The Clouds Of Narcissus

the clouds of narcissus pass by today
along a clear pond by the side of a rice paddy

they stop to get a good glimpse of their faces and bodies
cottony white, shades of blue, pluffy, and soft

they stop and take a longer gaze, admiring every
beauty of its hands and fingers, a longer time

an island of grass some reeds and dry leaves
get curious about what is happening why the clouds

stop and made a longer stare over the clear reflection
of their bodies on the little pond. They talk. They are curious.

and then the clouds finally get done with what is usual.
they left. Slowly sail away from what they are seeing lovingly.

Nothing happens since then. They own no one.No one owns them.
They leave. They do not know how to love. Neither are they loved.

They are gone. The island of grass is silent. The reeds hush.
And the pond has become murky.

Me Passing By

i saw golf-ball in water
deep as my cup of wine
sign of impact still visible
thread of cloud; a crater
that was a cruel slice
thirty yards from fairway

i keep on walking watching
stray shots from sky, wary
geese with their curious eyes
honks and march far; in flock
sailboats are at bay waiting
for weekend or maybe porting
