031310 Life Is Struggle
across the street is harris teeter
where i buy groceries and painkiller
they have a card that gives discount
it helps, it surely saves a little amount
bread that is about to expire is 50%
for wines, spirits and fish not a cent
at twilight when i don't like to cook
i settle with bread and vegetable soup
sit with my friends, listen to their stories
watch them race their grocery carts
to their waiting cars at parking lot
where their children doing homework
life is so hectic, a struggle
how parents do the juggle
time of work and children
happening at same scene
it is tiring close to depression
it is love, determination to go on

Your pocket
Keep your pocket untouched
As the Wiseman said
You are the only one to touch
To earn and maintain your bread
You cannot leave it untouched
Since though bread rhymes with bed
You can have it attached
And even your back pocket occasionally
Many times by a credit card penetrated
And as bread once had raisins for poor children to smile, bread and cards and pockets are also nowanights,
pleasure and delight.
Men are most fortified
When approximately forty-five
Children smile, today, through pockets children cry

The Tough Old Bird
She was up in her years and her hair was completely gray
All she had was her memories which was quickly fading away.
Life had taken its toll on her, and the years made her hunched backed.
But she was a tough old woman, even after her heart attack.
Children would gather around her, and she’d tell the
Stories of days gone by-she would always get you
To laugh, she didn’t even have to try.
Memories of the 1920 s when gangsters ruled the streets
Where people were afraid to walk, if there
Wasn’t a cop on the beat.
Yet with all the violence they had a grand old time.
Speak easy clubs hidden in the dark alleys
Where most would not dare to go
But you could always find any type of gambling
Drinking, or musical show.
She had seen the great depression and every type of recession.
Clothing styles changing all the time
Food by the pound sold for a dime.
Ice cream and fruit carts being pulled down the streets
MY OH MY -what a wonderful treat.
Then the 1st world war came, and she
Wondered who was to blame.
American men running to volunteer to fight
for freedom- their lives they would share.
She was around for every conflict and war
And could write stories and books
Of everything that she saw.
But she was just happy to share her stories
And jokes with the children who would gather around.
They would listen to her and not make a sound.
She loved to see the children s faces all aglow
Every time she put on her show.
She knew her life was close to the end
And these children were her dearest friends.
So she left a story for each one to tell
And to this day, they do it very well.

After Many Days
I'VE always been a faithful man
An' tried to live for duty,
But the stringent mode of life
Has somewhat lost its beauty.
The story of the generous bread
He sent upon the waters,
Which after many days returns
To trusting sons and daughters,
Had oft impressed me, so I want
My soul influenced by it,
And bought a loaf of bread and sought
A stream where I could try it.
I cast my bread upon the waves
And fancied then to await it;
It had not floated far away
When a fish came up and ate it.
And if I want both fish and bread,
And surely both I'm wanting,
About the only way I see
Is for me to go fishing.

Parents Vs Children
Things that i don't understand in this world is that why do some people
get into relationship, getting married, enjoying life and making love.
But when it comes to children or when they already have kids, they
could not accept their responsibilities as parents. They do have
regrets of having kids especially if the kids are naughty, giving problem
or giving them headaches. They always beating, shouting, saying bad words to the kids saying wish you never exist, wish you never been born.
Instead of being calm, giving advice, doing good things which would make their children happy and be proud to have good parents.
Instead of thinking good ideas which would make them close to each other
.
Child is a child, they need more time with their parents. They need
attention, care, and love. Children are curious to everything, they need
to know antyhing as part of growing up. They need the guidance of
parents, but what I see nowadays is different. Parents just give material things to show their love for their kids.
Some parents just go out to parties, shopping, prefer to hang out with their friends rather than their kids. Then they just leave the children
to the nannies/babysitter.
Parents make their children be far from them instead children to get
close to the nannies who always there for them and give the love to the children. Parents must be a role model for the children, but what i see
now is that children do as what their parents do, they become more liberated.
There are also some parents who give up for their children. Some choose their own happiness, they don't like to stay at home with their kids. especially if thier husband dont have time for them too. the tendency, both couple would have a problem that result to divorce.
Where is the love that they shared? where is the promises and vows they had?

The Depression of the 1930's
The depression of the 1930's was the time of my childhood days,
There were a lot of worries and hardships in many ways.
Whatever time people could spare, they would help each other out,
Bad times also came when there was a draught.
The depression of the 1930's our parents would help make quilts of all kinds,
They would work long hours, day and night, it was alot on their minds.
Fathers would work on the W.P.A. just to make ends meet,
Breaking stones was very hard work, some of them fell to their feet.
The depression of the 1930's there were problems about work, severe
winters and war,
People never know from day to day what may be in store,
There were children of all ages, sick with an illness,
Some of them passed away with the long nights of stillness.
The depression of the 1930's made it bad for all ages,
Work was scare, there was pay of low wages.
During the depression, we all learned how to survive,
A lot of people shared the hardships by showing love and being alive.
The depression of the 1930's will be in my heart for the rest of my life,
I, Margaret L. Hockenberry, now Margaret l. Rodkey lived in those hardships
of struggle and strife
My parents were loving and caring in every way,
They taught me to respect people and show them we care.

Prayers of parents make a peaceful heaven to a home
Prayers of parents make a peaceful heaven to a home
The children who neglect their parents will be cursed,
The Nature makes such children’s house a hellish dome,
They are lucky children who are blessed by their parents,
It is said that there is a heaven under the legs of mother,
The children love or not to their mother but she loves all,
She embraces good or bad children but she can’t smother,
Mother is habituated to pray to God for all their happiness,
A few children won’t love their parents but love their wives,
In old age parents are in need of only their children’s love,
Who devote God, adore parents will be happy in their lives,
Love of parents always comes to children from the sky above,
God bless those children who are blessed by their parents,
And God curse those children who are cursed by their parents.

No one jumped, all were pushed
Those children wonder why
Why their parents seem to die
Each day they lose some life
And each day those children cry
.
Those mothers they weep
Those fathers they hold the heart that leaks
And those children they are what this world seeks
Because those children aren’t weak
.
The children they sit and watch
They watch their parents being eaten
The world they deem to be a place where everyone can be free
But, when they touch the street they only feel tension and heat
.
This world it burns
And this world it will eat
This world will be
What breaks your beauty
.
Growing up they will see
That no one wanted to fall down
No one wanted to let go
No one jumped they all stood only weak*
.
Trying to stand up straight
Trying to fight with faith
Trying to beat the world
But, only to pushed over and never found
.
Those children they sit and watch
And they in time become the weak*
They stand on the cliff
And just let the world push it’s the only way of becoming free*

Whose Blame?
'A woman's work is never done,'
Said she.
'From dawn to setting of the sun,'
Said she.
'I toil and moil and work and slave,
And do my best to pinch and save,
And yet you say I don't behave,'
Said she.
And twenty men in twenty carts
In that suburban street
Long, long before the daylight starts
Are setting out with cakes and tarts
And fish and milk and meat
And cauliflowers, beans and bread
What time my lady lies in bed.
'All day I have to live alone,'
Said she.
'Attending to the door or 'phone,'
Said she.
'While you go gaily into town
To meet your friends, I want a gown,
A hat! This life has got me down,'
Said she.
And twenty men when day is done,
In that suburban street,
Who have performed the task of one
(If things more orderly were done),
Drive back along their beat. . .
It seems absurd. But, all the same,
Is it my lady who's to blame,
For all these economic cares,
Or just man's muddling of affairs?

Future of the Country
Tears in the eyes,
Fear on the face,
I often see children working,
Roads being there workplace.
Unwillingly doing work,
By the fear of being scolded
Or beaten by their employers
I see children working for bread.
Messy hair, torn clothes,
Children walking bare feet
And working really hard
Not caring about the rain or heat.
Children doing all sorts of jobs
Including selling and begging.
I have also seen children
Cleaning cars for an earning.
I feel sorry for them.
I feel it is very unfair,
That people make children work
When they should take their care.
Children are delicate,
We must care for them.
For every child in the world
Is as precious as a gem.
At least thinking about the country,
We must stop child labour.
We must stop burdening the children
As they are the country's future.

Just A Housewife
I am just a housewife, no mean feat
I put food on the table, for my family to eat
nourishing wholesome meals, cooked with a mother's touch,
not food like a restaurants, which you dont miss much,
I am there to comfort and listen to woes,
I have to be a refree too, and settle all the rows,
I pamper his mother and keep his folks happy,
and even keep smiling, when I am feeling snappy,
I'm house proud and neat, clean rooms are a must,
my days are spent cleaning, and keeping out the dust,
I am a nurse, too helping in healing, wounds of both kinds,
real fears of my husband and imaginary fears of young minds,
I am a hostess when required, entertaining within constraints,
I'm also a disciplanarian when children require restraints,
I manage the finances, and keep everything going
when things are not going right for me I keep them from showing
my husband earns the bread, its my job to keep him going,
I steer the boat and he does the rowing,
together we raise children, to be happy and bright
together we live our our life working morning to night
but don't forget my friends that men CAN'T multi task,
how to juggle so many tasks its a woman you have to ask.
and all this without payment, and sometimes no appreciation,
thats what women are about,
endless love, nurture and creation.

Old Jenny
The children taunt old Jenny they say you can't chew meat
And you must eat your porridge you don't have any teeth
They call her Gummy Jenny and then they run away
And when she yells 'you go to hell' it only makes their day.
But children will be children they still have much to learn
And the difference between fun and harassment they have yet to discern
By making Jenny angry such fun in that they see
And if she did not react to them perhaps they'd leave her be
She lives on retirement pension in need of every cent
It's a struggle for her just to survive to buy food and pay rent
One of the forgotten people one of the many who
Deserve better in their old age respect is overdue.
Condemned to suffer the jeers and taunts of every young blaghguard
For all of the Jenny's of this World life must be very hard
Some children have fun taunting her to cruelty they are blind
Though many are far more aware and are not so unkind.
Some children taunt old Jenny she shouts 'you go to hell'
And they run off on down the street and laugh loud as she yell
Condemned in her twilight years to suffer the ridicule
Of naughty little rascals who have only started school.

Listen My Children
listen to what i have to say
my children listen to what i have to say
i weep for you all the time
yes i do
i see and feel you your pain
so please stretch out your hand and ley me help you
let me light your way through the darkness leading you to happiness
listen to what i have to say
my children listen to what your father has to say
i want to rain my blessings down upon you
and heal you when ever you're ill
my children come to me don't stray to the wrong path
what i can give you is more precious than gold or anything else
and that is a fact
my children listen to my voice
i love you
i care for you
i'll never leave you
i'm always here for you
listen! listen to what i am saying i'mwaiting for you my children

Talk Soup
I dated siamese twins
I slept with bigfoot, too
Get me on sally jesse
Put me on donahue
cause I wanna tell the world about it
Right now
My dogs a narcoleptic
My moms a circus freak
I gotta get a spot on
Geraldos show this week
cause I wanna tell the world about it
Right now
Im just an anorexic codependant bingo addict
Stripper born without a chin
And Im only comfortable talking about it
When the whole wide world is listening in
Talk soup... talk soup
Listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me
My wife ran off with elvis
My boss shaved off my hair
Ive got a thing for poodles
And rubber underwear
And I wanna tell the world about it
Right now
I had a close encounter
I never chew my food
I got eleven nose jobs
I yodel in the nude
And I wanna tell the world about it
Right now
Im just a cross-dressin alcoholic neo-nazi
Porno star, as you may have guessed
And Im really gonna feel a whole lot better
If you let me get this thing off my chest
Talk soup... talk soup
Listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me
Im just your average schizophrenic nymphomaniac
Albino go-go dancer, you see
Nothin so bad that I cant share it
With a billion friends on national tv, whoa...
I have no genitalia
I sold my kids for cheese
I love my blow up doll, so
Bring out those cameras, please
cause I wanna tell the world about it
Right now
Talk soup... talk soup
Listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me
Talk soup... talk soup
Listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me
Talk soup... talk soup
Listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me
Talk soup... talk soup
Listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me, (listen to me) listen to me

Sonnet: Our Children Is Our True Wealth
How nice to see one's children win applause?
What joy when children perform truly great?
How lovely seeing them live for a cause!
What thrill to see them get rewards till date.
The joy of parents is really more,
When children win a trophy, shield in race;
When people clap their hands and them adore;
And laughter, smiles adorn their weary face.
Yes, children are the apple of their eyes;
To see them well is parents' only aim;
So, parents slog all life to make them wise;
Their minds are filled with joy when they get fame.
Is there a better wealth than children's feat?
A plant is proud to bear its golden wheat.

Rent, Groceries And Gasoline
I used to live the luxury life
A new house, three cars to drive
Steppin' over the credit line
I was payin' a heavy price
It seemed more was never enough
So I called my creditor up
Said "All I need is that cadillac car,
I'm heading for a brand new start"
I was in way to deep
Straightened out my priorities
I'm a man of simple needs
Just rent, groceries, and gasoline
I got a trailer sturdy and cheap
Hot time, job work when I please
Goin' to Mexico next week
Gotta feel that ocean breeze
I might settle down sometime
Right now, it ain't on my mind
Got a pretty girl along for the ride
She's the adventurous kind
I got everything I need
Straightend out my priorities
I'm a man of simple means
Just rent, groceries, and gasoline
Got a full tank and some food to go
Check the map and we'll hit the road
In the flicker of the dashboard lights
I feel my life unwind
I got everything I need
Straightend out my priorities
I'm a man of simple means
Just rent, groceries, and gasoline
Rent, groceries, and gasoline
I need rent, groceries, and gasoline
Just give me rent, groceries, and gasoline
And I'm outta here!

childhood memories-May Day
I'ts May Day
All the coal carts and horses are
decked with flowers and streamers,
The carts line the street on each side
Waiting for the children to pour onto them,
Yelling and happy children, thrilled
To be taken for a ride,
Out of their tenement street,
To the countryside.
It is a bumpy ride, but no one cares,
This is a happy day in May.
When they foresake concrete street and back yard.
For countryside forest, burns, river and park.
Cake and lemonade is served
in bluebell woods.
And children are happily
collecting flowers, stones and insects.
For many happy hours.
Away they are from bounderies
Of life on a tenement street,
To run freely and happily,
Far from the hard stone concrete.
Of their everyday existence.
To play in streams of cool water,
To roll on the grass and the Land,
To smell the fresh air as they potter,
Around in the woods, this is grand.
That night as they sleep in their beds,
The children all dream of the day,
When its usual for them to play,
In the light, wind and warmth of the sun.
To feel grass not concrete under feet,
To breath air that is fresh, and not stale
From the factory stacks that prevail,
Everywhere around where they live.
Oh! What a heaven it will be,
For a time to come when they see,
Such a vision of life real for them,
So they sleep at await for that day.
That always will be like one in May

Children's Day in India,2012
Being a child is what all love to be;
And when adult, we know we can never;
Childhood was best and everyone agrees;
But do children have freedom they deserve?
The smaller family norm has done great harm;
The child is neglected right from its birth;
It wallops in its faeces and urine!
It has to study when 'tis age to play!
What selfishness fills hearts of most adults!
They spare no time to watch the bud blossom;
World's children pine for love and yearn for care;
They are denied their rights when still in womb!
The crimes against children are on the rise;
Children are used, abused and not amused;
No nation thrives if children stay enslaved;
Let parents love their children sincerely!
Children are living wealth of nations prime;
Children are priceless gifts from God above;
Children are future parents and leaders;
Children need to be kept healthy, unharmed!

Beware! Grown Up Children!
Children need parental love,
Children utilise parental services,
Children get life with parental guidance,
Children want parental money and property;
As children grow and earn on their own,
Parents get older and senior in their turn,
Parents getting older and lose their memory,
asks many doubts and queries everyday;
Grown up children are not patient
nowadays for every parental query,
They care for their own children only
and blow up their parents to old-age homes!
The history will repeat,
Beware! Grown up children! !

Life’s Unfair
Life’s Unfair
A husband and wife grow old together
You think and hope it will last forever
When you hear of children getting hurt
You hope it’s only a little fall in the dirt
So many accidents happen because of a drunk driver
Why is the drunk the only survivor
Parents hurt the children they love
Men hurt the women they should love
Some rich and famous do wrong and get a pass
Up and up goes the price for gas
The elderly get mugged and beat
Some people are hurt and left lying in the street
Women and children are molested
Children that are not protected
Men that are considered a deadbeat
People that are forced to live on the street
Children that are terribly ill
Parents can’t pay the bill
So much more of life is unfair
Lots of people that don’t care
