No intention

These words were never meant

The word poetic

Has found itself unpoetic

Never intended for music

Or for argument

There is no epic, or sonnet

Of rivulet

Neither is there purple tinted skies

Or timpanic symphony

'unpoetically'

Unwritten

Unspoken

Neither hidden

Nor seen

There are days full of graves

Tombstones for faces

Clouds full of dreams

Substance?

My heart

These rain spun stones

These crystals of unfathomable light

Night streets splintered with tears

Where have yougone my love?

Where have you gone my love?

Refusing refuge and solace

Some days lye empty

Half woken from their sleep

Refusing the poetry

The invevitable singing

That follows falling down

And spinning wheels of madness

The desire for doing nothing

Being almost spent

February

February came and went, like a love song never meant,

To be heard until summer.

Then march marched in, suprisingly late

The buds still swollen on the trees

The river stretching out beneath the evening

And april brought memories of you leaving

The sunlight left it's golden locks upon the floor

And may was full of sleeping in beyond the time of waking

Of autumn walks under overcast skies

And something out of step and out of season

The beating of a silent heart

The rain washed streets

Left drops on leaves

And smells of smoky bars

And early scents of rising earth

And all our hopes shone in a dazzling constellation

The universe in symphony

In wonder at love's death

In triumph at its celebration

Unwritten love

Heavenly music choral,
Floral
In my soul
Waking
Memories start to roll.
A film of life.

Dancing in the kitchen
With my mother on Christmas Eve.
Feelings like no other.
Unwritten love will weave.

Poetry
That unwritten music
Narrates.
While golden caresses
Wait at the gates.
Earthly tears then dissipate
To send rain for our thirst
Emotion's buds dispersed.

Beautiful music
Unwritten love
Heaven's lights kiss clouds above.
Then sun on our face
Pleasing to the eye.
Unwritten love
Drifts
Across an open sky.

Poetry unwritten music to our ears
A life of rhyme to wipe away the tears.
And though memories mime
We scribe our souvenirs.
Unwritten love
Sweet music from above.
Plays in our soul.
Like morning star
On Heaven's scroll.

Love Is

Love is not that simple

Not as simple as,

Love is?

Yet I remember you,

In and out of love,

Nothing lost

That is not gained

Yes I remember you,

In and out of love

In a year full of famine

Finding you here

Standing in the midst of war

After the rain

And the dance of lost chances

I remember you standing here

As clear as a picture

Brighter than those days now gone

Moving in and out of love

Like shadows

In and out like waves across the sun

So much to live for

So much richness found in famine

And love is, and love was,

Never quite here

Never quite gone

A handful of sorrow

A handful of sorrow

called grief

In an hourglass

The sand slid through time slowly

They held onto their self help books

Like walking sticks

Refusing to grow old

Yet clutching at the grey day

Like a constant mourner

Working out a diary

The darkest sonnet

Looks framed

Eyes distracted from the road

Driving dangerously

Oblivious to the passengers

They took down slowly

To their death

Storms breaking even the oldest trees

The Question

The question leaves a road turning

Trees full of green thoughts burning

Gold and brown

They fall in on themselves

At first they make a beautiful collage

A kaliedoscope

Tracings of colours

Leaving unfinished

The questions

Of life and love

And why

Do we?

who will we become/ in becoming?

wherefore from the root?

Seeded randomly?

When where?

Will we go?

do we die?

when we die?

what dreams?

what dreams?

He dreams in waking

wide eyes

spinning his own realities from within

Will the light burn out?

Or burn on?

And the music of the question

Goes on

Unfinished

Unanswered

Forever pursuing

Forever unpursued

In finito

NO ENDING

This Poetry

This poetry is not poetry

This poetry is not poetry as poetry goes

But is as silent as a man in a rollo neck jumper

Almost reading yesterdays news

This poetry is not poetry

As far as poetry goes

It is neither verse

Or poesy prose

This is a debunking of 'The poetry'

Everyone knows

And so they are not amused

This poetry is not poetry

So why poetry?

If not

Prose?

It is as idle as a man picking his nose

Pondering a wonderful muse

Yet some, are not amused

Infact if this poetry is Not poetry

What right have I to use, the word poetry?

It is a lovely panacea for expressing and de stressing

The individual's points of view

And yet if not poetry

Who says Not poetry

And who is qualified to choose?

Give me a pocket full of roses

Or a misty morning cloud

Are you amused?

Imagine

Imagine I am mourning

And all day

Wear the day like darkness

Returning to the map

The insidious streets

A body full of tears

Vibrant

And bright as a jewel

Such things shine

Always after rain

Imagine I was mourning

and the day was a white gown

And each sigh

Winging towards

Heaven

Your Love

She promises to be yours forever and always
And youre too young to know it dont work out that way
When she kisses you and your heart skips
And youre ten feet off the ground
Soon youll be crying and that when youll have found
That
Your love is gonna let you down, boy
Your love is gonna let you down
Your love is gonna let you down, boy
Your love is gonna let you down
Well its kisses and sweet talk
When she first starts coming round
But soon tears start falling down
You say every day she makes your dreams come true
But soon those very dreams will be the death of you
Well
Your love is gonna let you down, boy
Your love is gonna let you down
Your love is gonna let you down, boy
Your love is gonna let you down
No cold denials, no-one really lied
It was time spent, promise implied
And suddenly you see something new in her eyes
And in that moment you realize
Lately youve been walking the streets at night
Like an empty shadow in the morning light
Like an empty shadow thats suddenly found
That your love is gonna let you down
Your love is gonna let you down, boy
Your love is gonna let you down
Your love is gonna let you down, boy
Your love is gonna let you down

I am forever

I am forever the lover,

The loser

Life's dreamer

Streets walker

Smooth talker

I am forever in the journey of

An untouched sea

Seeming in calm

Soul quiet

Uncertain of the future

There will always be

I am forever the singer

The song

The poet

That travels light

The shapeshifter

Bearing those unseen promises

Who will carry this other world tonight?

I am forever the cracked glass

The shifting light

The moon dancing upon water

Thirsty and hungry

I am forever

The lonely

The lived in

The empty house

Full of noise and chattering bodies

The endless routine

I am forever the living

And the dead

Times traveller

Year taker

unseeing beauty

I am forever the living the breathing

Taking back

With one step

Full of empty

Living on

Knowing

I am forever

In the last sleep

In the arms of another

World to come.

Do You Remember?

Do you remember
our days in the
sun
Heat penetrating
us
hot and passoniate
yet so young, and
naive

the rain gently
falling
touching our faces
refreshing in its
wetness
stopping to embrace
clinging to each
other.

as a leaf clings to
the branch
refusing to let go
oh.!
the days of our
youth
now just a memory

do you remember?

My loves sonnet

My loves sonnet
~
My love is an unwritten sonnet
an ode to the greatest beauty
which sparks the soul into a song
and the heart a merry dance
which brings to life many a dream
such joy I now find in me
happy my soul thanks to love
that the world should hear
and share in such sweetness
the rich melody of this sonnet
still remains unwritten
but this love, such love
inspires all creation to thought
how can such beauty
be captured in words alone
to eternity I look and beyond
to read my unwritten love
is to live and watch over it

And the bush was a bright ray of light burning

Claimed a name for naming

Untrod, unfelt, half seen territory

Making walls my strangers

Making mountains

Captains of my heart

Heroic summits

Left clouds dreamers

And streamers trailing dove tail

The Game Is Over

This song was first released on the whose garden was this? album. it is the only album it has been released on.
Time, there was a time
You could talk to me without speaking
You would look at me and Id know
All there was to know
Days, I think of you
And remember the lies we told
In the night, the love we knew
The things we shared when our hearts were beating together
Days, that were so few
Full of love and you
Gone, the days are gone now
Days, that seem so wrong now
Life, wont be the same
Without you to hold again in my arms
To ease the pain and remember
When our love was a reason for living
Days, that were so few
Full of love and you
The game is over

Angel Dust

They fall softly
Rain drops on petals
Soft wet blossom
Floating down
Wings of wind chime calling
Singing
memory and dreams scape
Dryads and sea nymph
Drift wood
And moonshine
footfall of roses
leaves a departure
fragments of love
points on an atlas
You carry your dreams
in your pocket
careful and carefree
Angel to ange
The sirens are singing
Drawn from the sea with a sigh
Calling you home with a dream
And after the taking of tea
There are no silver clouds in the sky
Softly the rain drops are falling
Washing the dreams from your eyes

Fatigue

Tired today

Almost a reed broken

Worded out from speech

Finding a peace

In hung silence

And these are all clouds

No dreams tail

There is nothing to reach for

But this, in this moment

Loved out of love

Tired, yes I am tired of 'I love you'

You, who must listen

You, must you love me?

Unseen I walk beside you

Must you understand?

More than a measure of breath

A day spent with empty hands

Must you know me?

How can you know?

All that is missing in the spaces

Between today and tomorrow, ?

And another year passes unseen,

And the universal parent is waiting,

Yes he is always waiting

To take us home

To take us back

To a time when we were living without want,

Only knowing we were loved,

And that is all,

And that is that!

Say you love me again

Shoulders up and walking away,
Lighting up my heart with fire,
Chest out thinking nomore,
Adding coal to the flames,
The decision i failed to sustain,
Say you love me again

Leaving you alone in the dark,
I despised the capacity i had,
Leaving you with tears falling,
Regrets paid me a visit,
Take my hand and understand,
Say you love me again

Refusing to wipe away your tears,
Yet later they flooded me to death,
Refusing to catch you fell down,
Yet the impact destroyed everything,
Wipe away my thoughts,
Say you love me again

My hands are guilty and so my thoughts,
Judge me but spare me the penalty,
I broke it but im mending it,
Your heart i ached but understand,
Say you love me again.

Poetry is the Divine Part of Man

Poetry haters love to make fun of the touchy-feely stuff
as though that defined who or what poetry is.

Poetry is the last time the sun gets reflected
in somebody's eyes, when they're saying goodbye-
maybe for forever.

And it's that first dropp of rain, touches the new brides veil,
blesses her; as she's lifting it off her face
for the first time, after being kissed in the marriage ceremony.

And poetry might be that bubble,
over the sink.. keeps floating away, fully intact;
even though all the laws of physics and gravity may be saying
it ought not be able to go on existing;

And poetry in motion
is a baby, trying to walk and falling down
again and again;
refusing to give up, surrender
less painful though that might be.

And poetry could even be your hand over my mouth,
because you know that I can never really say
what I am trying so hard to say;
as there's another form of secret communication
connects soul directly to soul,
without confusing or complicated words.

And that is some of the invisible poetry,
lives in the eyes, the hands; the heart of the mind;
and all the hidden, inner recesses of a human being; and even though
something may be a form of poetry for one; it may not be for another.

Finally, if you balled up the emotions together, and then just threw them up
into the open air, not knowing where they might come down, or even if;
this too, could be one of the purest forms of poetry.

My words could go on flowing forever, like a stream, and that could be poetry;
or they might stop without warning and
