A right pair!
The tired shoes yawned,
They were unable to detach themselves from the feet
The tired feet yawned
Feeling trapped by the shoes and unable to escape
The first signs of agraphobia pressed in
Both were sick of the sight of each other
What a pair!
The hands tapped the table top idly
Refusing to release them,
Too busy composing a first and second draft
Of sonnet in its third sequence
The hands showed 'creative indifference'
The feet and the shoes
Now hot and bothered
Grew smelly and grumpy
Stamping the ground they united forces
Shifting both legs into action
Stamping the ground in fury
Shifting the hands from the writing pad
Until finally the hands released them from each other
'What a pair'! , the hands cried
The feet and the shoes
Sent loving looks to each other
After a particularly tiresome day
They hoped soon to be re united
What a pair!

I Have No Desire To Limp Home With Agonized Feet
I don't have to be in 'his' shoes,
To know what it is like...
To commit to do for others.
And have those oppose my sacrifice,
To share with a few who listen and gossip...
About what I do they would do differently,
Because what I do for 'them' is either criticized.
But mostly disliked.
I don't have to be in 'his' shoes,
To know what it is like...
To commit to do for others.
However,
I have learned over the years...
When those shoes became too tight to wear,
I do not keep them on to soak my feet...
When not in public.
Oh no.
I don't have to be in 'his' shoes,
To know what it is like...
To commit to do for others.
Every pair of shoes I put on today...
Are guaranteed to provide my comfort.
I have no desire to limp home with agonized feet.
After I have met with a group of ungrateful people.
And to argue their cause too?
No!
I've already made those donations.

If I Were
if i were a pair of gloves
i know you want to become a pair of hands
if i were a pair of shoes
i know you want to be a set of bare feet.
that indeed is romantic
something that fits like a dado to a joint
like thread to the eye of the needle
even though
nothing is challenging enough
like a round peg to a round hole
but baby these fittings are more of fantasies
there are more truths and realities
those that don't fit
and yet still exist together
like us.
i love you and you love me too.
against all odds.
and evens.

I too, have got shoes
Have you seen shoes on children here
No shoes for other children
No shoes for your children
My uncle said to my dad
I lost my shoes—small shoes
from then on
My feet crushed the thorns
from then on
The city was taken from me
But not me from the city
from then on
Many years later my shoe remover died
And I got back my shoes
Bigger shoes—for crushing thorns
from then on
I cat walked in them
And went to bed in them
from then on
I got the city back
Even when I stayed there
from then on
Believe me I too have got shoes
And I slip my feet in them
But not for sleep anymore
Yes I too have got shoes
Other children wear shoes
My children wear shoes
Wear shoes why not
Why not why not why not why not
Shoes in the cot
Shoes to school
Shoes to the market
Shoes to the office
Why not wear shoes

Whiteshoe Boy
You: Whiteshoe Boy
How are your shoes today?
and those feet that rest in them?
Those feet that draw footsteps in the sand
The ones I wish'll make their way to my heart
The same ones I'd love to follow
all the way to the end of the widest sea
Oh what a sight to find:
Oh what heaven it'll be; your footsteps lined up next to mine.
Yes you: Whiteshoe Boy
How are your shoes today?
and those hands that own them?
Those big friendly hands that shook mine
The ones that'll slide our wedding band through my finger
The ones with strong Herculean arms adjoined
The same ones that'll sweep me through our door;
on our wedding night.
Oh what a sight to find:
Oh what heaven'll see; your hands cradled in mine.

The Shoe Argument....
there is this connection
his feet are too small for the shoes
and he is having a hard
time fitting in
what he expects is something
different
something that someone may
find too usual
the shoes are always thought of
as smaller
than that of the feet
i am thinking of another point
what if we have no feet at all?
and the shoes are all too expensive?
same thing perhaps.

Loving like a Pair of Running Shoes
Being in love is like a pair of running shoes.
When they're new,
they win you over, your
excited to use
them an showem off
Two years go by
And it's time for a new
pair of running shoes.
You may or
May not
Get the same, pair
You pray of an upgrade
Being in love
is like a pair
of running shoes.

Stomp Your Hands, Clap Your Feet
Whoa!
Woo-woo yeah
Turn it up until it bangs your head
Tear it down now mother don't play dead
People stand the noise
All the little toys
Put some more coke on the fire
Stomp your hands
Clap your feet
Stomp your hands
To the beat
Stomp your hands
Clap your feet
Stomp your hands
To the beat
Mixed up kids lookin' for that night
They're getting higher everything in sight, well alright
The music's pretty loud
Someone in the crowd
Think they're gonna cause us a riot

Appendages
How many fingers do I have?
Enough to work to the bone.
How many hands do I have?
The two that I do own.
How many toes do I have?
Enough to fill my shoes.
How many feet do I have?
The two that I do use
to get me where I want to go,
walking a leisurely pace.
It seems to be a lost art anymore.
Most are in a race.
But since I am retired
I don't ever rush around.
My fingers, my toes, my hands, my feet
make me slow right down.

An Old Pair Of Shoes
Verse 1:
Ive walked a million miles across this floor
But I never have quite made it to the door
I never thought the time would come
Id ever see this day
When you could make me feel so thrown away
Chorus:
Im feeling like an old pair of shoes
All worn out from walking through these blues
Theres a hole in my soul
And Im really feeling used
Im just like an old pair of shoes
Verse 2:
Youve always been my one and only, love
It aint no easy thing to give you up
Looking back Im feeling like
Theres nothing left to lose
This time I may just walk out on you cause
Repeat chorus:
Tagg:
Theres a hole in my soul
And Im really feeling used
Im just like an old pair of shoes

One Pair of Eyes
One sock found...
Still requires a pair of shoes to wear,
For those with two feet!
But one pair of eyes is no guarantee,
A pebble can not cause one to stumble
On a path taken under a bright and clear sky!

I Can Be Disastrous....
do not attempt
to wear my shirt
it may be
calamitous
do not steal my hands
it will be disastrous
for what you desire
to hold
shall turn to stone
what you kiss
shall turn into a snake
and it will bite you
as it has bitten me
many times have i suffered
escaped death like a magician
what you eat
shall turn into wind
how can you be satisfied?
you shall be in
eternal thirst and hunger
no one has the power
to fulfill your desires
or your dreams or your
queries
do not borrow my pair of
shoes
it can burn your feet
it may cut your toes
into pieces
by now you must have
wondered
how i survive all my
years
you see it is not easy
never been smooth and easy
i never lived a life like
that
and you may never believe
it
now that i am old
and shall die in any hour
of my choosing
burn everything i leave
behind
forget every memory that
i have given you
my shoes, my shirt, my hands
my mind, my dreams,
do not forget my eyes
do not be misled by its visions
burn them thoroughly and
throw all the ashes to the
far ocean
of this earth
do not fish there
it can still be disastrous.

Shoes
when you're young
a pair of
female
high-heeled shoes
just sitting
alone
in the closet
can fire your
bones;
when you're old
it's just
a pair of shoes
without
anybody
in them
and
just as
well.

Song of Karen, the Dancing Child
(O little white feet of mine)
Out in the storm and the rain you fly;
(Red, red shoes the colour of wine)
Can the children hear my cry?
(O little white feet of mine)
Never a child in the whole great town;
(Red, red shoes the colour of wine)
Lights out and the blinds pulled down.
(O little white feet of mine)
Never a light on a window pane,
(Red, red shoes the colour of wine)
And the wild wet cry of the rain.
(O little white feet of mine)
Shall I never again be still?
(Red, red shoes the colour of wine)
And away over valley and hill.
(O little white feet of mine)
Children, children, open the door!
(Red, red shoes the colour of wine)
And the wind shrieks Nevermore.

Not Totally Naked
I tied my own shoes.
I was conscious of it.
All day I was aware...
I was not totally naked.
And my feet,
Have only been seen...
By a selected few.
None of whom now...
See me tie my own shoes.
And when I purchase another pair...
Who will care,
What color sox I will choose to wear?
Or if they match.
I tied my own shoes.
I was conscious of it.
All day I was aware...
I was not totally naked.

A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues
Well, if your hands start a-clappin'
And your fingers start a-poppin'
And your feet start a-movin' around
And if you start to swing and sway
When the band starts to play
A real cool way out sound
And if you get to can't help it and you can't sit down
You feel like you gotta move around
You get a shot of rhythm and blues.
With just a little rock and roll on the side
Just for good measure.
Get a pair of dancin' shoes
Well, with your lover by your side
Don't you know you're gonna have a rockin' time, c'mon!
Don't you worry 'bout a thing
If you start to dance and sing
And chills come up on you
And if the rhythm finally gets you and the beat gets you too
Well, here's something for you to do
Get a shot of rhythm and blues
With just a little rock and roll on the side
Just for good measure
Get a pair of dancin' shoes
Well, with your lover by your side
Don't you know you're gonna have a rockin' time, c'mon!
Don't you worry 'bout a thing
If you start to dance and sing
And chills come up on you
And if the rhythm finally gets you and the beat gets you too
Well, here's something for you to do
Get a shot of rhythm and blues
Get a pair of dancin' shoes
Get a shot of rhythm and blues
Well, with your lover by your side
Don't you know you're gonna have a rockin' time, c'mon!
Don't you worry 'bout a thing
If you start to dance and sing
And chills come up on you
And if the rhythm finally gets you and the beat gets you too
Well, here's something for you to do
Well, here's something for you to do
Well, here's something for you to do

Parody Song
Parody Song for Lute and Harp
The cobbler who mended the princess´s shoes
Fell in love with her feet and declared his love.
But the princess was quite chocked, said…no.
Sad cobbler sat in his shop repairing waders,
Farmer clogs and polished officers riding boots
The cobbler who mended the princess´s shoes.
The princess had shoes to repair, sent a servant,
But the cobbler needed her feet to make a fit.
He fell in love with her feet and declared his love.
He mended her shoes touched her ankles to make
Sure the shoes fit and the princess´s was thrilled
Made him a courtier of her dainty ankles and feet.

Old Brown Shoes
Look sitting at the bottom of the bed.
A pair of old brown shoes.
I can tell by the soles of those
old brown shoes; that they
have walked many miles,
Furthermore, I can tell by
the scuff marks on the toes
of those old brown shoes;
that they had to kick many
obstacles out of the way of
the owner,
Now, by the fade shine
on those old brown shoes;
I can tell that they were
handled with much love
and care.
Boy! If the tongues on
those old brown shoes;
could talk. I could just
imagine the stories they
would tell.
I know one of the stories
would be of suicide.
Because there above my head.
Hangs the owner; by the laces
of those old brown shoes.
Let Them Be
let the shoes come and accommodate your feet
and the gloves your hands
and your shirt and pants let them all come near you
and wear your body
let all of them come
let them be let them be
let them have you
the shoes will take you to the door of the house
the home you are longing
the stairs meet you
and the windows open like eyes looking out to another face
the floors and ceiling give you a space
where you can sit with the chair
that opens its arms
a glass serves you milk
or orange juice, tell it what you want
to quench your thirst
a saucer, a plate, a spoon and fork
they all come before your hands
some muffins and jelly
they all come before your mouth
they all come to feed your hunger
this is your home now.
Destiny is waiting.
You do not do a thing.
They all do it for you.
There is no worry.
Destiny does it for you.You see.

Ch 03 On The Excellence Of Contentment Story 25
A man whose hands and feet had been amputated killed a millipede and a pious passer-by exclaimed: ‘Praised be Allah! In spite of the thousand feet he possessed he could not escape from a man without hands and feet when his fate had overtaken him.’
When the life-taking foe comes in the rear
Fate ties the legs of a running man.
At the moment when the enemy has slowly arrived
It is useless to draw the Kayanian bow.
