When You Go Away
When you go away the wind clicks around to the north
The painters work all day but at sundown the paint falls
Showing the black walls
The clock goes back to striking the same hour
That has no place in the years
And at night wrapped in the bed of ashes
In one breath I wake
It is the time when the beards of the dead get their growth
I remember that I am falling
That I am the reason
And that my words are the garment of what I shall never be
Like the tucked sleeve of a one-armed boy

Ashes, Dirt, and Wicker
dead bird lying
in a wicker cage.
hands on the old clock...
...... stopped!
train tracks that tremor,
and nothing comes.
you cant build a fire
in ashes....
look back. the fields
behind you are brown,
and barren...
the memory of rows
gone back to dirt...
just dirt!
the stranger at the door
never speaks, never asks,
never waits for you
to gather yourself...
words lose their form
and fall like raindrops
that disappear into thirst...
thirst, that creates anew,
and never remembers falling!
ashes to ashes... remember,
you cant build a fire
in ashes...
dead bird lying
in a wicker cage...
hands on the old clock...
....... stopped!

Its Ok
Its ok
Love is only meant for some
Im the rock
The shoulder you can cry on
I keep the walls from falling down
I keep the walls from falling down
I keep the walls from falling down
Ill play it straight
While you laugh and drink and party all night long
Ill designate myself
To be the driver who takes you home
I keep the walls from falling down
I keep the walls from falling down
You can be pretty and tragic
Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
You can be beautiful and fabulous
Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
I cant reach the pain you feel
But Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
If you can hold on
Lose your fear
Ill try to keep the walls from falling down
Falling down
Falling down
Where is your saint
To let you know youre not alone
To bring you peace
Help me be your friend your confidante
And keep the walls from falling down
Keep the walls from falling down
Keep the walls from falling down

Back To
When the night wind chills your heart
when you are away from home,
you wish you were back there
tucked up in your warm bed
away from the chilling night
that penetrates your soul.
Back to those warm rooms
you call your loving home.
Back to your loved one
who waits patiently for you.
Back to the safety of your dreams
vowing to never leave again,
even if for just one day.
Back from the night wind chill
to your own castle walls.
Back to the place where
your heart calls, home.

Dyes Cast
Each night
As he drops his head
To the deep dream
Of the dark bed,
A shape beckons him
Wellaway
From the starlight
And the dim day.
A mare
Black as a spade, calls
From the dark hill
As the wind falls,
The reeds mutter
The night is black
As he leaps blind
To the mare’s back.
Then like the roar
Of an ill wind
Or a black flame
From the devil’s kiln,
The mare speeds
To the night’s work
By the old mill
And the dark Kirk.
Shapes flutter
And leap alight
Before they sputter
And, out of sight
Disport and mutter
Of black arts
To see the mare
And the rider pass.
Hour on hour
He clings to scenes
Of dark images,
Wild dreams
And chance friends
From the dead past
In the grim haunts
Of dyes cast.
His face burns
And tears stream
In the long night
Of the dark dream,
He clings grim
To the mare’s back
For his soul’s sake
And a long lack.
The day brinks
At night’s mist;
‘There may be nothing
More than this, ’
The mare fades
From his wide eyes –
But the thoughts bide,
And the old lies.
‘There may be nothing
More than this! ’
And his mind seeks
The mare, the mist;
‘There may be nought
But the dead past,
And the dark haunts
Of dyes cast.’

Reason To Live
[verse 1]
What is the meaning of life?
I've asked myself so many times
Is there a reason I'm here?
I wish someone would make it clear
'Cause I'm living from day to day, feeling so far away
Maybe I'm not as sane as I thought
Keeping my eyes on You is something I've gotta do
Even when I don't feel like it
[chorus]
I won't give up, I won't give in
I'm ready for my life to start again
I won't back down, I'll stand my ground
The time is now to show the love I'm found
I've got a reason to breath, I've got the freedom to stand
The future is mine, I'll give it all I can
To break down the walls that hold me in
It's my reason to live
[verse 2]
My reason to wake up every day and bless Your name
In the crush of this crazy messed up world
Only You have stayed the same
I know I have a place here in amazing grace
Forever safe, forever sound
Time after time I see You are the best in me
You're everything I'm chasing after
[chorus]
I won't give up, I won't give in
I'm ready for my life to start again
I won't back down, I'll stand my ground
The time is now to show the love I'm found
I've got a reason to breath, I've got the freedom to stand
The future is mine, I'll give it all I can
To break down the walls that hold me in
I've gotta reason to live
[brigde]
Listen as the walls fall down
Hear the nations calling out
[chorus] 2x

Possession
THE child was yours and none of mine,
And yet you gave it me to keep,
And bade me sew it raiment fine,
And wrap my kisses round its sleep.
I carried it upon my breast,
I fed it in a world apart,
I wrapped my kisses round its rest,
I rocked its cradle with my heart.
When in mad nights of rain and storm
You turned us homeless from your door,
I wrapped it close, I kept it warm,
And brought it safe to you once more.
But the last time you drove us forth,
The snow was wrapped about its head,
That night the wind blew from the North,
And on my heart the child was dead.
The child is mine and none of yours,
My life was his while he had breath,
What of your claim to him endures,
Who only gave him birth and death?

Tucked Away
Well, I saw you once
Then I blew it for the next ten thousand days
I should have flapped away
I needed to come back and show you
I needed to go back
I know its wrong
I laughed to get along
[chorus]
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away another day
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away
Mama just called
Says shes extra sad today
Well, I spent the whole day yesterday
On clichs about love
Making me remember when your pushes became shoves
I wanted to come back and show you
Needed to go back
I know its wrong
I laughed to get along
[chorus]
So whyd you go and play my trust
Todays the same as yesterday, and Im okay
? ? i take the time this weatherman did time again to get along? ?
Since youve been gone
Ill get along anyway at all
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away another day
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away
Mama just called
Says shes tucked away another day

The Fairy Clock
Silver clock! O silver clock! tell to me the time o' day!
Is there yet a little hour left for us to work and play?
Tell me when the sun will set--tiny globe of silver-grey.
It has been so glad a world since the coming of the morn,
Oft I wondered when I met any souls who seemed forlorn--
And I scarce gave heed to those who were old or travel worn.
Mayhap I have loved too well the merry fleeting things;
Run too lightly with the wind--chased too many shining wings;
Thought too seldom of the night, and the silence that it brings.
Well I fear me I have been but an idler in the sun--
All unfinished are the tasks long and long ago begun--
In the dark perchance they weep, who have left their work undone.
And I know each black-frocked friar preacheth sermons that, alas!
Fain would halt the dancing feet of those careless ones who pass
Down a sweet and primrose path, through the ribbons of the grass.
Silver-clock! O Silver-clock! It was only yesterday
Dandelions flecked the field, starry bright, and gold and gay;
You are but the ghost of one--little globe of silver-grey!
Tell me--tell me of the hour--for there is so much to do!
Is it early? Is it late? Fairy clock! 0 tell me true,
As I blow you down the wind, out upon a road of blue.

Dont Stop
The clock is ticking, and Im here wishing
This new found love will find no end
Dont wanna feel, another feeling
Dont wanna know what time will send
I wanna stop, the earth from turning,
The rain from falling,
The wind from blowing
But dont stop (stop), the love from growing, keep that river flowing
We can find a way
Dont stop (stop), the love from showing
I dont want tomorrow, just give me today
Dont stop (stop), stop the hands of time
Hold back the time
And make forever, the same as the moment I felt your love
Youve touched my heart
Erase the pain, the memories, and mistakes I made
Stop, the earth from turning, the rain from falling, the wind from blowing
But dont stop (stop), the love from growing, keep that river flowing
We can find a way
Dont stop (stop), the love from showing
I dont want tomorrow, just give me today
Dont stop (stop), the flame from burning
Stop tomorrows hurting, from seeing the light
Dont stop (stop), my heart from beating
Keep the time from fleeting, into the night
Cant think about tomorrows fears, cause today is here to stay
Clear away all of yesterdays tears, theres nothing to block our way
Stop, the earth from turning, the rain from falling, the wind from blowing, the sun from shining
Cant find the reason, another season
Could never match a love so pleasin
Dont let it go, no, no, no, no, no
Dont stop (stop), the love from growing, keep that river flowing
We can find a way
Dont stop (stop), the love from showing
I dont want tomorrow, just give me today
Dont stop (stop), the flame from burning
Stop tomorrows hurting, from seeing the light
Dont stop (stop)
My heart from beating, keep the time from fleeting, into the night
Dont stop (stop), the love from growing, keep that river flowing
We can find a way
Dont stop (stop), the love from showing
I dont want tomorrow, just give me today
Dont stop the love, stop the time, another day, to keep you mine
Dont stop the love, stop the time, another, to keep you mine

Lubie (Come Back Home)
Down at the Astoria the scene was changing,
Bingo and rock were pushing out X-rating,
We were the first band to vomit in the bar,
And find the distance to the stage too far,
Meanwhile it's getting late at ten o'clock,
Rock is dead they say,
Long live rock.
Long live rock, I need it every night,
Long live rock, come on and join the line,
Long live rock, be it dead or alive.
People walk in sideways pretending that they're leaving,
We put on our makeup and work out all the lead-ins,
Jack is in the alley selling tickets made in Hong Kong,
Promoter's in the pay box wondering where the band's gone,
Back in the pub the governor stops the clock,
Rock is dead, they say,
Long live rock.
Long live rock, I need it every night,
Long live rock, come on and join the line,
Long live rock, be it dead or alive.
Landslide, rocks are falling,
Falling down 'round our very heads,
We tried but you were yawning,
Look again, rock is dead, rock is dead, rock is dead.
The place is really jumping to the high-watt amps,
'Til a 20-inch cymbal fell and cut the lamps,
In the blackout they dance right into the aisle,
And as the doors fly open even the promoter smiles,
Someone takes his pants off and the rafters knock,
Rock is dead, they say,
Long live rock, long live rock, long live rock.
Long live rock, long live rock, long live rock,
Long live rock, long live rock, long live rock.
Long live rock, I need it every night,
Long live rock, come on and join the line,
Long live rock, be it dead or alive.

Clock-O'-Clay
In the cowslip pips I lie,
Hidden from the buzzing fly,
While green grass beneath me lies,
Pearled with dew like fishes' eyes,
Here I lie, a clock-o'-clay,
Waiting for the time o' day.
While the forest quakes surprise,
And the wild wind sobs and sighs,
My home rocks as like to fall,
On its pillar green and tall;
When the pattering rain drives by
Clock-o'-clay keeps warm and dry.
Day by day and night by night,
All the week I hide from sight;
In the cowslip pips I lie,
In the rain still warm and dry;
Day and night and night and day,
Red, black-spotted clock-o'-clay.
My home shakes in wind and showers,
Pale green pillar topped with flowers,
Bending at the wild wind's breath,
Till I touch the grass beneath;
Here I live, lone clock-o'-clay,
Watching for the time of day.

Left After The Storm
love is the scar
left after the storm....
the light in the window
the falling branch broke,
the ashes drowned by rain
after the fire....
my hand on your breast,
the moment without words,
that hangs on the clock
like the hour never struck.
the sweet whiskey of your lips,
pressed tight, then yielding....
the leaves on the porch,
blown like a stranger to the door....
the box of pictures,
buried in the closet, .....
'neath old coats and goodwill
clothes, folded and wrinkled....
your legs wrapped around
a sudden strike of lightning....
the way you smell....
dressed in sleep!

Just One Kiss
I remember the time that
You rained all night
The queen of siam in my arms
Remember the time that the islands sank
But nobody opened their eyes
Remember that time that the trees fell down
The wood crashing through the wall
Remember the sound that could wake the dead
But nobody woke up at all
Somebody died for this
Somebody died for just one kiss
Remember the time that the sky went black
We waited alone on the sands
Remember the taste of the raging sea
But nobody held out their hands
Somebody died for this
Somebody died
For just one kiss
Just one kiss
Just one kiss

When The Night Comes Falling From The Sky
Look out across the fields, see me returning.
Smoke is in your eyes, you draw a smile.
From the fireplace where my letters to you are burning,
Youve had time to think about it for a while.
Well, Ive walked two hundred miles, look me over.
Its the end of the chase and the moon is high.
It wont matter who loves who.
Youll love me or Ill love you
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling from the sky.
I can see through your walls and I know youre hurting.
Sorrow covers you up like a cape.
Only yesterday I know that youve been flirting
With disaster you somehow managed to escape.
Well, I cant provide for you no easy answers.
Who are you that I should have to lie?
Youll know all about it, love.
Itll fit you like a glove
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling from the sky.
I can hear your trembling heart beat like a river.
You must have been protecting someone last time I called.
Ive never asked you for nothing that you couldnt deliver.
Ive never asked to set yourself up for a fall.
I saw thousands who could have overcome the darkness,
For the love of a lousy buck, Ive watched them die.
Stick around, baby, were not through,
Dont look for me, Ill see you.
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling from the sky.
In your teardrops, I can see my own reflection.
It was on the northern border of texas where I crossed the line.
I dont want to be a fool starving for affection.
I dont want to drown in someone elses wine.
For all eternity I think I will remember
That icy wind thats howling in your eye.
You will seek me and youll find
Me in the wasteland of your mind.
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling from the sky.
Well, I sent you my feelings in a letter
But you were gambling for support.
This time tomorrow Ill know you better.
Where my memory is not so short.
This time Im asking for freedom,
Freedom from a world which you deny.
And youll give it to me now,
Ill take it anyhow.
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling,
When the night comes falling from the sky.

A soldiers last letter
I left the town
A night in June
Towards a war
That I didn’t knew
You sent me a letter
But when answering your words
We passed a graveyard
Who corrupted my words
I wanted to scream
And run back home
Darling I’m afraid
I’ll be delayed
So I won’t be home
When our baby is born
When writing this letter
I wanted to cry
But I can’t
Because baby
I’m a guy
Men must be strong
So men don’t cry
But baby
I want to kill this guy
Who said such a stupid words
I swear I’ll kill him
And make him eat his words
In this moment
We arrived at the camp
Blood, sweat and tears
Welcomed us back
Darling...
Men twice my size
Were crying for momma
Covered in blood
And still in their pjmas
Darling
I’ve got good news
And bad ones
I won’t be delayed
But I won’t come home
Either
Tomorrow, next week or in years
I fact my dear
I never will.
Don’t spill your tears
You’re so fragile my dear…
Please tell my son
To not play with guns
Move on my dear
But do never forget me
Marry a man
And do never regret it
Darling
They say
That I won’t be okay
But I already knew that
So I guess its okay
The bindings are falling
And blood is crawling
Out of my body
Leaving me spotty
And stained
But I guess, I’ll soon be drained
Darling, these are my last words
Written on a bloody paper
I dedicate these to you
Darling live your life as I tell you to
I’m not bossy
I’m just telling the truth
Darling always remember
Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets
Love the people who treat you right
Forget about the ones who don’t
Believe everything happens for a reason
And if you get a chance. Take it
If it changes your life. Let it
I’m not saying it’ll be easy
Just promising it’ll be worth it
Love like never before
Live like it’s your last day
And dream like it’ll last forever
Take care of those around you
You’ll never know if you’ll see them again
Remember me for who I am
Not for whom I was
Let me live on within you
Take care of those who I let behind
Including you
And with these words
I’ll leave you
Remember I LOVE YOU
My friends are now crying
While I’m slowly dying
I am not lying
I’m closing my eyes
And taking a breath
My last breath
I love you
And never forget it
Believe it
Live it
Breath it
Love it
Smell it
Taste it
Cause its true
I LOVE YOU

Gemini Dream
Long time no see
Short time for you and me
Were on the road
Like you knew we would
First night, so long
A state of mind
What can go wrong
Were here, the time is right
To rock n roll
Right through the night
Make it work out
Make it work
Make it work out
Make it work out
For each other tonight
State fright, candle light
You can let go
Tonights the night
Came back for you
Glad to see
That you came too
Theres a place a gemini dream
Theres no escaping from the love we have seen
So come with me, turn night to day
You gonna wake up
You know you gonna wake up in a gemini dream
Turned round to see
Where weve been
And what we believe
In life, love
Take a chance
See it through
Youll be glad
That you came too
Theres a place a gemini dream
Theres no escaping from the love we have seen
So come with me, turn night to day
You gonna wake up
You know you gonna wake up in a gemini dream
Long time no see
The lights go up
For you and me
Were here
The time is right
To rock n roll
Right through the night
Living it
Believing it
Wanting it
Make it work out
Make it work
Make it work out
Make it work out
For each other tonight
Long time no see
Short time for you and me
So fine so far so good
Were on the road
Like you knew we would

Purple And Silver
frozen evenings
on me, they camp greetings
intruding me to the dark feelings
demolishing any happy traces
that i once discovered
teardropp cases, these faces
never seem to get em' outta my head
paint in purple, paint it silver
track a train
to the valley of midnight pain
which i once suffered
i still suffer
when we look back to the spring shower
they left us, leaving poison flowers
i extracted the pulp
she wrapped the words
we made a bomb
mark our words
paint them purple, paint them silver
bang bang now check this out
heavy storm outside
reminds me of one inside
tornado of tears
volcano of fears
but they had to hit
and hit they did
birth of a kid
off color white
put up a fight
listening to 9 crimes
i've been given too much time
he did his part
i broke mine fast
paint it silver
msg delivered
paint it purple
i start to crumble
over the top
the boat beneath the blue whale
river of lost got a new sail
they met the pain at the oceans date
cross the fence in senses
sit at the last bench
bury the drench
she did her seven cry
i made my blood dry
birth of anger
paint it silver
run in circle
paint it purple
something pushing me to
cry one last try
that hope to see blue butterfly
makes his blood dry
she just sees the sky
and does her seven cry
frozen evenings dark fire
anguish through lime wire
silver frost bite
i burnt my kite
purple midnight
i released my knife
hearing the drums
following 1,21 guns
getting nothing
expecting a lot
talking tears
hiding fears
for 16 years
he waited for his father
for 18 years
she blocked her laughter
the waiting purple
the falling silver
paint him purple
lost in jungle
paint her silver
remember this november..

Train
Writers: leo sayer & david courtney
Running through my life
Like a river, like a song
Train keeps pushing me
Right back to the place where I belong...
Back along the tracks
Fly a million years
Right across my path
Train moves on ringing in my ears...
Come on board
Come on board
Train, oh train, take me back, again
I remember, I remember, take me back
Train, oh train, the journey ends and starts again
I remember, I remember, I remember
Ive been up all night trying to get this down
Now Im hallucinating
Staring at the wall look what Im creating...
Look at the clock Im twelve hours old
So many more remain
Way up ahead I know I see a train...
Come on board
Come on board
Train, oh train, all those memories, all over again
I remember, I remember, take me back
Train, oh train, the journey ends and starts again
I remember, I remember, I remember
Waited on the station all day
Just to see a glimpse of the morning train
Just to see the wheels turning round
Blowing up steam,
See what I mean,
You see what I mean...

Turn Around
Jimmy saw the sun chase away the night
It was a quarter past seven
His body warm like the morning light
Had to be in school by eleven
He told himself what they had done to him
That's why Jimmy never felt real sad
If only someone could have lent a hand
Things would have never turned out so bad
Who knows why black flies just live for one day
Who knows why
Hey turn around
It's time to wake up and go back to tell the story
Hey turn around
It's time to wake up and go back to tell the story now
Always sat alone in the back of the class
Because no one would take him
Today he stood in front of the rest
His hands were shaking
Who could have known what Jimmy thought
Never had a chance to speak his words out loud
The flies were burning in his head till
Jimmy let them all out
Who knows why black flies just live for one day
Who knows why
Hey turn around
It's time to wake up and go back to tell the story
Hey turn around
It's time to wake up and go back to tell the story now
It didn't pay to make fun of him
Too late to say
