WHAT moves that lonely man is not the boom
Of waves that break agains the cliff so strong;
Nor roar of thunder, when that travelling voice
Is caught by rocks that carry far along.

'Tis not the groan of oak tree i its prime,
When lightning strikes its solid heart to dust;
Nor frozen pond when, melted by the sun,
It suddenly doth break its sparkling crust.

What moves that man is when the blind bat taps
His window when he sits alone at night;
Or when the small bird sounds like some great beast
Among the dead, dry leaves so fraiil and light.

Or when the moths on his night-pillow beat
Such heavy blows he fears they'll break his bones;
Or when a mouse inside the papered walls,
Comes like a tiger crunching through the stones.

The deluge

The crust of the world breaks open
and water gushes up
from below,
while heavy continual rain
pours down from above.

Lightning bolts roar menacing
flashing white blue
against a clouded black sky
and the sun is blocked off
and it’s like night.

The ark rises on water
which floods universally
causing havoc and catastrophe
and in tremendous winds
Noah steers the ship
to ride gigantic waves.

His massive arms
is rock solid on the wheel
while huge waves break
splashing him soaking wet
and the chill creeps in
right through to his bones,

but the biggest chill
is in his heart of humanity,
while he watches the rest
birds and animals die
and dead bodies drift
as far as his eyes can see.

Solid rain pours down for forty days
without end, winds howl in great intensity
and waves break and rock the ship
uncaring for its destiny
and it’s as if every lightning bolt
finds the ship
as the only thing available to bash down on.

Days and nights he watches
dark green water rising,
rushing, crushing and coiling out
and in the dark the wake at the stern
gleams white.

Lightning striking and on that you can depend
They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice
Gods of thunder sit and watch the event

My backs to the wall
You know I must be going

Johnny Thunder

Johnny thunder lives on water, feeds on lightning.
Johnny thunder dont need no one, dont want money.
And all the people of the town,
They cant get through to johnny, they will never, ever break him down.
Johnny thunder speaks for no one, goes on fighting.
And sweet helena in bed[? ] prays for johnny.
Ba ba-ba ba ba-ba ba,
Ba ba-ba ba ba-ba ba,
Thunder and lightning.

I was staring out the window
The whole time he was talking to me
It was a filthy pane of glass
I couldn't get a clear view

It wasn't the outside world I could see

You see those trees,
Standing big and tall,
Some are bent,
Because they are begining to fall.
The lightning strikes,
And hits the tree,

The bullies are the lightning strikes,
The victoms are the trees,
This is what life is,

I
Night is above me,
And Night is above the night.
The sea is beside me soughing, or is still.
The earth as a somnambulist moves on
In a strange sleep ...
A sea-bird cries.
And the cry wakes in me
Dim, dead sea-folk, my sires—
Who more than myself are me.
Who sat on their beach long nights ago and saw
The sea in its silence;
And cursed it or implored;
Or with the Cross defied;
Then on the morrow in their boats went down.

Rocks are about me, and, beyond, the sand ...
And the low reluctant tide,
