Office blocks, corner shops, traffic jams on every street, the same old rush around
Obsolete, Im a freak, in a show on brighton beach, as the snow comes down
Realitys kicking me, knocking me right off my feet, as the sky spins round

Laundry stops, by the lock, on a sunday afternoon, with all that fuss

At Old Railroad Stations
At these tiny old railroad stations,
Which my own train long ago left behind,
I fear for the pressing crush of people
Departing, who pass on this stretch of track.
And I would like to see myself rise
Above the ones waiting on the platform,
So that I am as far as I can be now
On my journey in this rattlebox life,
So that I know bridges and tunnels,
The sea-, lake-, rock-, and cityscapes,
So my eyes and ears are pierced with knowing,
With those unknown in their seats,
So that they'll still be sitting in Times' train,
Brooding at the window, watching sparks fly
And the flashing of the tragic signals,
When I long got off at the destination.

We watch the fireflies flicker
dim and dangerous in the darkness
and dream of stars above so bright
that they outshine the moon
We laugh at water rushing in around us
as we sink, sink, sink
and drown eventually
in our fears and even our hope
We shape the heavens in our dreams,
wondering at the impossibilities
and glitter at the clouds,
and dance for the stars and sing for the lost
We look at one another,
laughing, grinning, joking, enjoying...open our eyes
and gasp at the mirror before us
throwing back nightmares and fear
It is not the predator that hunts us,
that lingers in the afterglow, waiting
It is not the shadows that plot against us,
waiting for us to blow out the light
It is the crushing feeling in our chest
that leaves us empty, choking, wanting,
It is the flash of heat in our back
that paralyzes us and chains our tears
and smiles silver in the moonlight...
pushing us deeper into the night
where the sounds whisper in our ear to let it go...

We take ourselves home for the day
