On A Thief (From The Greek)
When Aulus, the nocturnal thief, made prize
Of Hermes, swift-wing'd envoy of the skies,
Hermes, Arcadia's king, the thief divine,
Who when an infant stole Apollo's kine,
And whom, as arbiter and overseer
Of our gymnastic sports, we planted here;
'Hermes,' he cried, 'you meet no new disaster
Ofttimes the pupil goes beyond the master.'

Phoebus And Hermes
DELOS' stately ruler, and Maia's son, the adroit one,
Warmly were striving, for both sought the great prize to obtain.
Hermes the lyre demanded, the lyre was claim'd by Apollo,
Yet were the hearts of the foes fruitlessly nourish'd by hope.
For on a sudden Ares burst in, with fury decisive,
Dashing in twain the gold toy, brandishing wildly his sword.
Hermes, malicious one, laughed beyond measure; yet deep-seated sorrow
Seized upon Phoebus's heart, seized on the heart of each Muse.

U Thief, U Stole My Heart
U thief, U stole my heart
Oh, the grief, i am torn all apart
U thief, U stole my heart
Oh, the brief encounter, i should have known it would b
bad from the start
U thief, U stole my heart
Oh, the relief, i don't have 2 let u in, I guess even though
i will b lonely, i win
U thief, U stole my heart
Oh, the belief, y do i dare, y do i even care
U thief, U stole my heart
Oh, the mischief, i saw the signs, but i chose not 2 read
between the lines
U thief, U stole my heart
Like the falling leaf, i will just have 2 make a new start

Thief! ! !
You are a thief
THIEF, THIEF, THIEF
Thief from bones and soul
Thief till dust and ash
THIEF, THIEF, THIEF
Thief who steals and shouts
Thief who cheats and hides
You have a pride
A pride of THIEF
You have an ethic
An ethic of THIEF
You have rules
Rules of THIEF
You take what you want
And run from everyone
Irresponsible about what you’ve done
Leave this mess to be blown
THIEF, THIEF, THIEF
There’s nothing real
From your belonging
You’re just a thief
And why I should follow a thief

Hes A Thief
He steals hearts and he steals my kisses
He stole away my love
He steals my thoughts
And now it seems
He stole into my dreams
Cos hes a thief , oh
Hes a thief
Hes a thief
Hes got me ensnared in his clutches
His love does not seem real
Hes got me there , in solitaire
His love is made of steel
But hes a thief , oh yeah
Hes a thief , oh
Hes a thief
I locked my heart and threw away the key
But hes knocked once and open sesame
He steals hearts and he steals my kisses
He stole away my love
He steals my thoughts
And now it seems
He stole into my dreams
But hes a thief
Oh, hes a thief
Hes a thief ( fadeout)

Love Sonnet 68: I Stormed Dreamland To Rescue A Princess,
I stormed Dreamland to rescue my princess,
Imprisoned by a dragon that breathed fire,
With Thor's hammer aiding in the process,
Which caused more sleep than would Apollo's lyre;
Hermes' sandals took us out in no time,
But Princess wanted a Stiletto style,
She said, that fashion, to gods, is sublime;
What if high-heeled sandals make Hermes rile?
As monster birds might yet catch us in flight,
Princess throw off her clothes for diversion;
No trouble flying in the darkest night,
But to land in the midst of procession;
...So, to avert any landing drama,
...We declared she was... Lady Godiva.

Oh Thief
Oh thief, the wise lords do commit a decent treason
For you and me. Sorry are your colleagues that see gods
As mighty as the whole sun and the whole moon.
Oh you thief, it stole only when required, on a dead day
Such as this one - Can I tell your mothers and fathers?
Much I do for their feet and hands, that meet,
That meet in the night and the very last hour of this world,
Do they not be vast in their wisdom, in their precious learning
Of how and how not?
You are a thief and I am not a great big one, for I am not blood and bones.

Thief Without The Take (feat. Inger Lorre)
(i.lorrej.buckley)
Jeff duets with inger lorre and plays guitar on this song, contained in inger lorre's album trascendental medication.
Oh baby didn't you hear?
I'm goin' solo dear,
So low dear
I am the thief without the take
I'm swallowing the bitterest pill
Totally ever so against my will
I am the thief without the take,
I am the thief without the take,
Everytime i try to do my art
Always fallin' apart,
Fallin' apart
I am the thief without the take,
I am the thief without the take,
I'm the desert without sun
Five minus one diamond without shine
I'm the poem that doesn't rhyme
I'm the king on the hill
Sick and ill
Nothin' i wouldn't trade to be the serving knave
I'm the sun without heat
The drum without the beat
I'm the winter without snow
Flame without a glow
I am the thief without the take,
I am the thief without the take
Everytime i try to do my art
Always fallin' apart,
Fallin' apart
I am the thief without the take,
I am the thief without the take
I've stolen from myself too too long
It's just the music makes me want to go on
I am the thief without the take

Thief In The Night
Far off in the distance, a shape in the night, alright
On a mission of mercy, if the price is right
He tries to possess her and she bites
Its a ritual slaying, but the tables are turned, oh no
And now hes prayin, but its his turn to burn
Like a thief in the night - she breaks into his heart
Like a thief in the night - she never leaves her mark
In a hotel chamber, on a cryptic note
cos where theres fire, theres gotta be smoke, oh no
Footsteps in the twilight, and red nails round his throat
Its a ritual slaying, without strings attached, oh no
And now hes praying, but theres no turning back
Like a thief in the night - she breaks into his heart
Like a thief in the night
Like a thief in the night - she never leaves her mark
Like a thief in the night - alright, alright
Like a thief in the night - she breaks into his heart
Like a thief in the night - alright, alright
Like a thief in the night - she never leaves her mark
Like a thief in the night
Like a thief in the night (repeats out)

By Moschus
I slept when Venus enter'd: to my bed
A Cupid in her beauteous hand she led,
A bashful seeming boy, and thus she said:
'Shepherd, receive my little one! I bring
An untaught love, whom thou must teach to sing.'
She said, and left him. I, suspecting nought,
Many a sweet strain my subtle pupil taught,
How reed to reed Pan first with osier bound,
How Pallas form'd the pipe of softest sound,
How Hermes gave the lute, and how the quire
Of Phoebus owe to Phoebus' self the lyre.
Such were my themes; my themes nought heeded he
But ditties sang of amorous sort to me.
The pangs that mortals and immortals prove
From Venus' influence and the darts of love.
Thus was the teacher by the pupil taught;
His lessons I retain'd, he mine forgot.

Love Sonnet 45 I fall asleep with thoughts of you in mind,
I fall asleep with thoughts of you in mind,
And think the same, the moment I awake,
Each day turns out like past made to rewind,
And every night, the same wish would I make;
I pray respite from such times flowing by,
Lest all Eternity gets spent this way,
If Fate it be, some fools would still ask why,
When all it needs is but for love to stay;
For love has wings, and swift as Hermes' flights,
And pierces deep by Cupid's arrow tips,
It catches at the very first of sights,
And dies, when left unspoken by numb lips;
.....Love comes, and love goes by, like tide of sea,
.....But it gives life an all time high for me.

Mercury And Cupid
In sullen Humour one Day Jove
Sent Hermes down to Ida's Grove,
Commanding Cupid to deliver
His Store of Darts, his total Quiver;
That Hermes shou'd the Weapons break,
Or throw 'em into Lethe's Lake.
Hermes, You know, must do his Errand:
He found his Man, produc'd his Warrant:
Cupid, your Darts-this very Hour-
There's no contending against Power.
How sullen Jupiter, just now
I think I said: and You'll allow,
That Cupid was as bad as He:
Hear but the Youngster's Repartee.
Come Kinsman (said the little God)
Put off your Wings; lay by your Rod;
Retire with Me to yonder Bower;
And rest your self for half an Hour:
'Tis far indeed from hence to Heav'n:
And You fly fast: and 'tis but Seven.
We'll take one cooling Cup of Nectar;
And drink to this Celestial Hector-
He break my Darts, or hurt my Pow'r!
He, Leda's Swan, and Danae's Show'r!
Go, bid him his Wife's Tongue restrain;
And mind his Thunder, and his Rain.-
My Darts? O certainly I'll give 'em:
From Cloe's Eyes He shall receive 'em.
There's One, the Best in all my Quiver,
Twang! thro' his very Heart and Liver.
He then shall Pine, and Sigh, and Rave:
Good Lord! what Bustle shall We have!
Neptune must straight be sent to Sea;
And Flora summon'd twice a-day:
One must find Shells, and t'other Flow'rs,
For cooling Grotts, and fragrant Bow'rs,
That Cloe may be serv'd in State:
The Hours must at Her Toilet wait:
Whilst all the reasoning Fools below,
Wonder their Watches go too slow.
Lybs must fly South, and Eurus East,
For Jewels for Her Hair and Breast:
No Matter tho' their cruel Haste
Sink Cities, and lay Forrests waste.
No Matter tho' This Fleet be lost;
Or That lie wind-bound on the Coast.
What whis'pring in my Mother's Ear!
What Care, that Juno shou'd not hear!
What Work among You Scholar Gods!
Phoebus must write Him am'rous Odes:
And Thou, poor Cousin, must compose
His Letters in submissive Prose:
Whilst haughty Cloe, to sustain
The Honour of My mystic Reign,
Shall all his Gifts and Vows disdain;
And laugh at your Old Bully's Pain.
Dear Couz, said Hermes in a Fright,
For Heav'n sake keep Your Darts: Good Night.
