Robert Buchanan

’T WAS the body of Judas Iscariot
Lay in the Field of Blood;
’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Beside the body stood.

Black was the earth by night
And black was the sky;
Black, black were the broken clouds,
Tho’ the red Moon went by.

’T was the body of Judas Iscariot
Strangled and dead lay there;
’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Look’d on it in despair.

The breath of the World came and went
Like a sick man’s in rest;
Drop by drop on the World’s eyes
The dews fell cool and blest.

Then the soul of Judas Iscariot
Did make a gentle moan—
“I will bury underneath the ground
My flesh and blood and bone.

“I will bury deep beneath the soil,
Lest mortals look thereon,
And when the wolf and raven come
The body will be gone!

“The stones of the field are sharp as steel,
And hard and bold, God wot;
And I must bear my body hence
Until I find a spot!”

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
So grim, and gaunt, and gray,
Rais’d the body of Judas Iscariot,
And carried it away.

And as he bare it from the field
Its touch was cold as ice,
And the ivory teeth within the jaw
Rattled aloud, like dice.

As the soul of Judas Iscariot
Carried its load with pain,
The Eye of Heaven, like a lanthorn’s eye,
Open’d and shut again.

Half he walk’d, and half he seem’d
Lifted on the cold wind;
He did not turn, for chilly hands
Were pushing from behind.

The first place that he came unto
It was the open wold,
And underneath were prickly whins,
And a wind that blew so cold.

The next place that he came unto
It was a stagnant pool,
And when he threw the body in
It floated light as wool.

He drew the body on his back,
And it was dripping chill,
And the next place that he came unto
Was a Cross upon a hill.

A Cross upon the windy hill,
And a Cross on either side,
Three skeletons that swing thereon,
Who had been crucified.

And on the middle crossbar sat
A white Dove slumbering;
Dim it sat in the dim light,
With its head beneath its wing.

And underneath the middle Cross
A grave yawn’d wide and vast,
But the soul of Judas Iscariot
Shiver’d, and glided past.

The fourth place that he came unto
It was the Brig of Dread,
And the great torrents rushing down
Were deep, and swift, and red.

He dar’d not fling the body in
For fear of faces dim,
And arms were wav’d in the wild water
To thrust it back to him.

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Turn’d from the Brig of Dread,
And the dreadful foam of the wild water
Had splash’d the body red.

For days and nights he wander’d on
Upon an open plain,
And the days went by like blinding mist,
And the nights like rushing rain.

For days and nights he wander’d on,
All thro’ the Wood of Woe;
And the nights went by like moaning wind,
And the days like drifting snow.

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Came with a weary face—
Alone, alone, and all alone,
Alone in a lonely place!

He wander’d east, he wander’d west,
And heard no human sound;
For months and years, in grief and tears,
He wander’d round and round.

For months and years, in grief and tears,
He walk’d the silent night;
Then the soul of Judas Iscariot
Perceiv’d a far-off light.

A far-off light across the waste,
As dim as dim might be,
That came and went like a lighthouse gleam
On a black night at sea.

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Crawl’d to the distant gleam;
And the rain came down, and the rain was blown
Against him with a scream.

For days and nights he wander’d on,
Push’d on by hands behind;
And the days went by like black, black rain,
And the nights like rushing wind.

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot,
Strange, and sad, and tall,
Stood all alone at dead of night
Before a lighted hall.

And the wold was white with snow,
And his footmarks black and damp,
And the ghost of the silver Moon arose,
Holding her yellow lamp.

And the icicles were on the eaves,
And the walls were deep with white,
And the shadows of the guests within
Pass’d on the window light.

The shadows of the wedding guests
Did strangely come and go,
And the body of Judas Iscariot
Lay stretch’d along the snow.

The body of Judas Iscariot
Lay stretch’d along the snow;
’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Ran swiftly to and fro.

To and fro, and up and down,
He ran so swiftly there,
As round and round the frozen Pole
Glideth the lean white bear.

’T was the Bridegroom sat at the tablehead,
And the lights burn’d bright and clear—
“Oh, who is that,” the Bridegroom said,
“Whose weary feet I hear?”

’T was one look’d from the lighted hall,
And answer’d soft and slow,
“It is a wolf runs up and down
With a black track in the snow.”

The Bridegroom in his robe of white
Sat at the tablehead—
“Oh, who is that who moans without?”
The blessed Bridegroom said.

’T was one look’d from the lighted hall,
And answer’d fierce and low,
“’T is the soul of Judas Iscariot
Gliding to and fro.”

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Did hush itself and stand,
And saw the Bridegroom at the door
With a light in his hand.

The Bridegroom stood in the open door,
And he was clad in white,
And far within the Lord’s Supper
Was spread so long and bright.

The Bridegroom shaded his eyes and look’d,
And his face was bright to see—
“What dost thou here at the Lord’s Supper
With thy body’s sins?” said he.

’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Stood black, and sad, and bare—
“I have wander’d many nights and days;
There is no light elsewhere.”

’T was the wedding guests cried out within,
And their eyes were fierce and bright—
“Scourge the soul of Judas Iscariot
Away into the night!”

The Bridegroom stood in the open door,
And he wav’d hands still and slow,
And the third time that he wav’d his hands
The air was thick with snow.

And of every flake of falling snow,
Before it touch’d the ground,
There came a dove, and a thousand doves
Made sweet sound.

’T was the body of Judas Iscariot
Floated away full fleet,
And the wings of the doves that bare it off
Were like its winding-sheet.

’T was the Bridegroom stood at the open door,
And beckon’d, smiling sweet;
’T was the soul of Judas Iscariot
Stole in, and fell at his feet.

“The Holy Supper is spread within,
And the many candles shine,
And I have waited long for thee
Before I pour’d the wine!”

The supper wine is pour’d at last,
The lights burn bright and fair,
Iscariot washes the Bridegroom’s feet,
And dries them with his hair.

Judas Doomed Son Of Perdition?

Man of Sin Son of Perdition
the star that fell from heaven
the man doomed to destruction

warns of antichrist archetypes opposing God
Jesus in John 17: 12 in reference to Judas Iscariot
said of all his disciples none has been lost except

the 'son of perdition'
'the one doomed to destruction'
Judas' sealed character destiny...

It was Jesus who said
'Have I not chosen you, the Twelve?
Yet one of you is a devil! ' John 6: 70.

Judas is a son of perdition
Judas had the character of a destroyer
Judas was a traitor and a murderer...

Judas became the son of perdition
because of deliberate willful malice
abuse of grace and instructions of Christ

Judas was condemned through his own
covetousness materialism greed
his own despair insensibility treachery...

Judas is destruction personified
Judas attempted to destroy...
not only the Savior of the world

Judas attempted to destroy
the whole human race
through his love of money...

Sons of Perdition
Sons of Destruction...
Judas brethren sell God

Judas brethren sell their souls
for money and will frequently
depart this world by a violent...

voluntary death despair judged
as an accounting with greed
is imposed upon the Satan seed

thus in contemporary world ever increasingly
apparently esteemed creditable respected persons
reenact repeat Judas crime in multiple variations...

'Neither of us can deny
that which we are.
You Judas I Jesus

for a mere 30 pieces of silver.
You would sell my life
together with your soul.

A tragedy, for
neither of us will, forsake
our chosen role. '

To St. Paul, stripes, stones, shipwrecks, and thorns in the flesh were religious experiences to Judas Iscariot, the daily companionship of Jesus of Nazareth was not.

Treat me as you like to be treated

Leave me as youd wish to find me

Judas

(m&l - hansen)
You promise us a bright golden future
You say you will save the world
That there will be no more hunger and pain
But we only see your golden hands
You say you take care of our survival
Sending us missiles instead
But you just betray us, deny us and lie
And you always say you would
Fight for freedom, fight for rights
I see treason in your eyes.
Judas - rulin with an iron hand
Judas - sittin in the government
Judas - I am not a jesus christ
Judas - you will be the one whos crucified
Your worship money and economy
Theres nothing that you wouldnt do
If the payment is right you dont care about life
cause economy is your truth
You are the one selling terror and pain
In all the parts of the world
You are preparing the final grand slam
But you keep on tellin youll
Fight for freedom, fight for rights
I see treason in your eyes.
Judas - rulin with an iron hand
Judas - sittin in the government
Judas - I am not a jesus christ
Judas - you will be the one whos crucified
Judas, judas - are you still human?
Judas, judas - I cant believe it
Judas, judas - dealing with evil
Judas, judas
Youll keep on telling youll
Fight for freedom, fight for rights
I see treason in your eyes.

The Legend Of The One-Eyed Man

Like Oedipus I am losing my sight.
Like Judas I have done my wrong.
Their punishment is over;
the shame and disgrace of it
are all used up.
But as for me,
look into my face
and you will know that crimes dropped upon me
as from a high building
and although I cannot speak of them
or explain the degrading details
I have remembered much
about Judas -
about Judas, the old and the famous -
that you overlooked.

The story of his life
is the story of mine.
I have one glass eye.
My nerves push against its painted surface
but the other one
waiting for judgment
continues to see . . .

Of course
the New Testament is very small.
Its mouth opens four times -
as out-of-date as a prehistoric monster,
yet somehow man-made
held together by pulleys
like the stone jaw of a back-hoe.
It gouges out the Judaic ground,
taking its own backyard
like a virgin daughter.

And furthermore how did Judas come into it -
that Judas Iscariot,
belonging to the tribe of Reuben?
He should have tried to lift him up there!
His neck like an iron pole,
hard as Newcastle,
his heart as stiff as beeswax,
his legs swollen and unmarked,
his other limbs still growing.
All of it heavy!
That dead weight that would have been his fault.
He should have known!

In the first place who builds up such ugliness?
I think of this man saying . . .
Look! Here's the price to do it
plus the cost of the raw materials
and if it took him three or four days
to do it, then, they'd understand.
They figured it weighed enough
to support a man. They said,
fifteen stone is the approximate weight
of a thief.

Its ugliness is a matter of custom.
If there was a mistake made
then the Crucifix was constructed wrong . . .
not from the quality of the pine,
not from hanging a mirror,
not from dropping the studding or the drill
but from having an inspiration.
But Judas was not a genius
or under the auspices of an inspiration.

I don't know whether it was gold or silver.
I don't know why he betrayed him
other than his motives,
other than the avaricious and dishonest man.
And then there were the forbidden crimes,
those that were expressly foretold,
and then overlooked
and then forgotten
except by me . . .
Judas had a mother
just as I had a mother.
Oh! Honor and relish the facts!
Do not think of the intense sensation
I have as I tell you this
but think only . . .

Judas had a mother.
His mother had a dream.
Because of this dream
he was altogether managed by fate
and thus he raped her.
As a crime we hear little of this.
Also he sold his God.

Judas Be My Guide

Lights out - we live in a world of darkness
No doubt - everythings up for sale
We sleep - all of the world is burning
We pray - to God for a better deal
Nothing is sacred - back then or now
Everythings wasted
Is that all there is?
Can I go now?
Judas my guide
Whispers in the night
Judas my guide
Fight wars - die in a blaze of glory
Come home - meat in plastic sack
Fall down - you better pray to your God for mercy
So kneel - and help the blade cut clean
Nothing is sacred - back then or now
Everythings wasted
Is that all there is?
Is that it now?
I live in the black
I have no guiding light
Im whispering in your dreams...
Judas my guide
Whispers in the night
Judas my guide
Judas my guide
Whispers in the night
Judas my guide

Judas

I cast my pearls before the swine
Sealed and delivered
Then I drink your toast of wine
Though it's bitter sweet
I'm eating from you hand so neat
Pennies from heaven
You say you give
You say you love
But yet you live (just like)
Judas...Judas
Sightseeing through the lights
and shades of you mighty colonnades
No I got the picture
of the beauty and the beast
I am the lamb...you are the priest
To crucify me
You say you give
You say you love
But yet you live (just like)
Judas...Judas
To make a living...Makes no difference
You are what you do
Some are false and some are true
You haven't got a clue
I'd rather reign in hell some said
Than serve in heaven
You say you give
You say you love
But yet you live (just like)
Judas...Judas

Under the flamboyant Judas Tree

In my knotty dream I asked him; 'Are you Judas Iscariot who betrayed the Christ? '
He became silent and offered me a Tightrope.
I said ' I was a sailor.'
'That I know; You must have a thorough knowledge of knots.'
'Fairly Sir.'
'Then show me the Running Bowline which I used to hanged myself and you resemble my brother James.'
This nightmare could be an Omen.
Our few relatives live among us here and once a threat to our lives.
I think of my poor Mom's advise of bad dreams.
'Hey! My loving children as soon as you wake up go to a faucet
And open it, evil runs as water flows when you think of the nightmare.'

* The Buddha analyzed Life is full of knots, inside as same as outside, when you loosen one then turns into another knot.

The Ballad Of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest

by Bob Dylan
Well, Frankie Lee and Judas Priest,
They were the best of friends.
So when Frankie Lee needed money one day,
Judas quickly pulled out a roll of tens
And placed them on a footstool
Just above the plotted plain,
Sayin', "Take your pick, Frankie Boy,
My loss will be your gain."
Well, Frankie Lee, he sat right down
And put his fingers to his chin,
But with the cold eyes of Judas on him,
His head began to spin.
"Would ya please not stare at me like that," he said,
"It's just my foolish pride,
But sometimes a man must be alone
And this is no place to hide."
Well, Judas, he just winked and said,
"All right, I'll leave you here,
But you'd better hurry up and choose
Which of those bills you want,
Before they all disappear."
"I'm gonna start my pickin' right now,
Just tell me where you'll be."
Judas pointed down the road
And said, "Eternity!"
"Eternity?" said Frankie Lee,
With a voice as cold as ice.
"That's right," said Judas Priest, "Eternity,
Though you might call it 'Paradise.'"
"I don't call it anything,"
Said Frankie Lee with a smile.
"All right," said Judas Priest,
"I'll see you after a while."
Well, Frankie Lee, he sat back down,
Feelin' low and mean,
When just then a passing stranger
Burst upon the scene,
Saying, "Are you Frankie Lee, the gambler,
Whose father is deceased?
Well, if you are,
There's a fellow callin' you down the road
And they say his name is Priest."
"Oh, yes, he is my friend,"
Said Frankie Lee in fright,
"I do recall him very well,
In fact, he just left my sight."
"Yes, that's the one," said the stranger,
As quiet as a mouse,
"Well, my message is, he's down the road,
Stranded in a house."
Well, Frankie Lee, he panicked,
He dropped ev'rything and ran
Until he came up to the spot
Where Judas Priest did stand.
"What kind of house is this," he said,
"Where I have come to roam?"
"It's not a house," said Judas Priest,
"It's not a house . . . it's a home."
Well, Frankie Lee, he trembled,
He soon lost all control
Over ev'rything which he had made
While the mission bells did toll.
He just stood there staring
At that big house as bright as any sun,
With four and twenty windows
And a woman's face in ev'ry one.
Well, up the stairs ran Frankie Lee
With a soulful, bounding leap,
And, foaming at the mouth,
He began to make his midnight creep.
For sixteen nights and days he raved,
But on the seventeenth he burst
Into the arms of Judas Priest,
Which is where he died of thirst.
No one tried to say a thing
When they took him out in jest,
Except, of course, the little neighbor boy
Who carried him to rest.
And he just walked along, alone,
With his guilt so well concealed,
And muttered underneath his breath,
"Nothing is revealed."
Well, the moral of the story,
The moral of this song,
Is simply that one should never be
Where one does not belong.
So when you see your neighbor carryin' somethin',
Help him with his load,
And don't go mistaking Paradise
For that home across the road.

Judas

How eager he was to make Him
king of the world,
trying to force him to get involved politically.
But the Son of God remains silent

do not call on angels to come to his assistance
and in that dark night watch
torches burn bright while Judas fulfils his task,
soldiers gather around Christ

and suddenly Judas knows that He has another kingdom,
that He causes his love and sacrifice
to circle out to a newer deeper meaning,
bringing it as His greatest offering
and He looks at him, at Judas, with deep compassion
while His love goes through all things.

King Pilath
Judas Iscariot
Barabbas
Hitler
Benito Mussolini
Stalin, Polpot, Angulimala
And some others
Really I couldn't recognise them.
They're idling nearby
Mystery & True Crime Bookstalls.
They looked at me sarcastically
That I was from another Planet?
I was reading Oscar Wilde's
The picture of Dorian Grey
And I noticed a Fox Terrier puppy
Sniffed the World History!
And it barked tenderly
That sounds like
'Betrayals & Killers and what else? '
Then I whispered; 'Bigamy.'
The Puppy wagged its tail.
In the Parking lot by mistake
I tried to open the door of a wrong car
And it's like a limousine the Hearse!

Thirt Pieces Of Silver

THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER

Those early Roman days, were not much
different,
When bribery, corruption and evil ways,
had also prevailed!
Politicians crossed the floor of the Senate, -
like politicians of our days!
Morality, human values, and actions and
deeds,
Had price tags to satisfy human greed!
Both terrorists and traitors could be tempeted
by the devil,
To satisfy human lust and for the spread of
evil!
I often recall how Judas had betrayed,
By planting the traitors kiss on his Masters
face;
And sold Jesus to the Romans in a villanous
barter trade!
Thirty pieces of silver, became the price of
Judas soul,
For thirty pieces of silver, his Master he had
sold!
Thiry pieces of silver, was all that Judas got;
In exchange of hell fire and damnation as his
eternal lot!

Judas Rising

White bolts of lightning
Came out of nowhere
Blinded the darkness
Creating the storm
War in the heavens
Vengeance ignited
Torment and tempest
Attacks like a swarm
Forged out of flame from chaos to destiny
Bringer of pain forever undying
Judas is Rising
Eternal betrayer
Ice cold and evil
Taking no prisoners
Dark prince of the world (?)
Humanity trembles
Enslaving you sinners (?)
You can't beg for mercy
For none will be saved
The burden of shame (?)
Echos the prophecy
Ascending from Hell
Forever despising
Judas is Rising
Apprentice revealed (?)
Deceivers are crying (?)
My crucified steel
Evangelizing
Judas is Rising

Kiss The Judas

She took you up to the seventh cloud
You had time to fall
Is it that what youve been dreaming of
A promise big as the universe
And all the best for free
She ripped you off just when you fell in love
I know how it feels
I know how it hurts
Its the disappointment
That makes you feel so sad
I know you can top it
I know that you will
A smile in your face
One last embrace
To kiss the judas
To kiss the judas
Mom is dead and dads in buffalo
A long way to go
You paid the ticket but she does not come back
Enjoy a night under candlelight
If you pay the cheque
Her lips so red
And the future looks so black

A Little Bit Of Judas

Well, you can wear those pajamas like those tibetan llamas all day
You can be the ascetic profound and prophetic in most every way
You can model your life after christ or suffice with simon peter
You can bathe in holy water bow to gideon or gautama
Or the pyramids of giza
You can wear your frock, your collar, or your shawl
But theres a little bit of judas in us all
You can keep your conscience swept clean
Your front lawn looking green
Its a keen neighborhood
You visit your sick mother weekly
Spring for charity freely like a moral man should
You brought two children in the world a little boy, a little girl
You dutifully clothe and you feed them
Ou come straight home to your wife
You want no trouble in your life
You swear youll never cheat on them
Now suddenly youre feeling so small
cause theres a little bit of judas in us all
Well, excuse my digression
But I had the distinct impression she loved me so
So as not to try her conscience
She handed me a crock of nonsense while she bled me slow
Now her picture hangs on the wall to remind me
Theres a little bit of judas in us all
A little bit of judas, a little bit of judas,
In us all

Ballad Of The Traitor’s Soul

'Twas the shrunken soul of the traitor
That whined in a coign of the dark;
And the fiends were aroused from slumber,
When Cerberus began to bark.

'Methought that I spoke' said Julian,
Who betrayed God's own demesne;
'And I,' said the ghost of Caesar,
'Heard the dying groans of the slain.'

'Twas the voice,' said the high priest Caiaphas,
'That uttered those words of awe,
'Ye have given a tithe of anise,
And broken the weightier law.'

Then cried out Judas Iscariot,
Who fled on the wings of the wind;
'Some one is counting the silver,
And wailing because I sinned.'

But spake up the seven devils,
That vexed Mary Magdalene;
'The days of our bondage are over,
We are no longer unclean.'

'Moreover the voice that called us,
Said 'Enter the souls of men,
For Belial rules this cycle,
And Mammon has triumphed again.''

Then the horrent jowls of Moloch,
Wrinkled into a grin,
And he growled 'tis the soul of the traitor,
Open and let him in.'

'Twas the shrunken soul of the traitor,
Like a mouse at the furnace door,
That stood in the haze of hades,
And trembled within its roar.

Then uprose the form of Satan,
And taking a crucible saith:
'The shrunken soul of the traitor
Shall suffer the second death.'

'Come anarchs of ancient cities,
And captains of torch and sword;
For hell hath never received one,
By God and fiends so abhorred.'

Then the shrunken soul of the traitor,
Pleaded that he might live:
'Ye have borne with Phillip and Herod,
And my sin ye ought to forgive.'

But Phillip came forward and mocked him:--
'The laws of God may atone
The crime of destroying a country,
Unless he destroys his own.'

So the horrent jowls of Moloch
Wrinkled into a grin,
And the crucible being ready,
They threw the renegade in;

And fed the fire underneath it,
Until in the crucible lay
A drop of green, bitter water
That smelled of death and decay.

Then Satan siezed hold of the crucible,
And drained the drop on the fire,
And a flame leaped up to the heavens,
And instantly did expire.

And there in the darkness that followed
The arch fiends with broken breath,
Fled far from the place of horror,
And the sight of the second death.

Judas' Kiss

Are you going to kiss me
just like what Judas did to Jesus?

Are you selling me
to the man in the big house?

Do you want me to join
the women in the big house
who are not allowed to see the world?

Oh, father, father
please don't give me that judas' kiss
I promise I'll be like a man working in your farm
where the trees are old and dying.

Oh, father, father
please don't give me that judas' kiss
and just let me be free
to marry the one I love.

The Tower

It was deep night, and over Jerusalem's low roofs
The moon floated, drifting through high vaporous woofs.
The moonlight crept and glistened silent, solemn, sweet,
Over dome and column, up empty, endless street;
In the closed, scented gardens the rose loosed from the stem
Her white showery petals; none regarded them;
The starry thicket breathed odours to the sentinel palm;
Silence possessed the city like a soul possessed by calm.

Not a spark in the warren under the giant night,
Save where in a turret's lantern beamed a grave, still light;
There in the topmost chamber a gold-eyed lamp was lit --
Marvellous lamp in darkness, informing, redeeming it!
For, set in that tiny chamber, Jesus, blessed and doomed,
Spoke to the lone apostles as light to men entombed;
And spreading his hands in blesing, as one soon to be dead,
He put soft enchantment into spare wine and bread.

The hearts of the disciples were broken and full of tears,
Because their lord, the spearless, was hedgéd about with spears;
And in his face the sickness of departure had spread a gloom,
At leaving his young friends friendless.
They could not forget the tomb.
He smiled subduedly, telling, in tones soft as the voice of the dove,
The endlessness of sorrow, the eternal solace of love;
And lifting the earthly tokens, wine and sorrowful bread,
He bade them sup and remember one who lived and was dead.
And they could not restrain their weeping.
But one rose up to depart,
Having weakness and hate of weakness raging within his heart,
And bowed to the robed assembly whose eyes gleamed wet in the light.
Judas arose and departed: night went out to the night.

Then Jesus lifted his voice like a fountain in an ocean of tears,
And comforted his disciples and calmed and allayed their fears.
But Judas wound down the turret, creeping from floor to floor,
And would fly; but one leaning, weeping, barred him beside the door.
And he knew her by her ruddy garment and two yet-watching men:
Mary of Seven Evils, Mary Magdalen.
And he was frighted at her. She sighed: ' I dreamed him dead.
We sell the body for silver. . . . '
Then Judas cried out and fled
Forth into the night! . . . The moon had begun to set:
A drear, deft wind went sifting, setting the dust afret;
Into the heart of the city Judas ran on and prayed
To stern Jehovah lest his deed make him afraid.

Thus Jesus discoursed, and was silent, sitting upright, and soon
Past the casement behind him slanted the sinking moon;
And, rising for Olivet, all stared, between love and dread,
Seeing the torrid moon a ruddy halo behind his head.
