Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: XIX
I fled the booth with feelings as of Cain,
Yet laughing at my own bewilderment.
My cheeks had blushed till it was physical pain,
And my eyes smarted. Through my head there went
The little woman's last appealing word
Bidding me stop, in tones that smote afresh.
And 'twixt my finger and thumb there throbbed and stirred
The semblance of that monstrous pound of flesh,
The knee that I had handled. With it too
The jet beads of the little woman's skirt,
Where I had held her, left an impress new
And touched my conscience to a deeper hurt.
I was ashamed of all with shame intense,
My youth, my frailty, and my innocence.

Chauvinist
I’d never really comprehended such a mighty range of
Shapes and sizes down behind, it’s really rather strange:
The buttock muscle in a woman, overlaid with fat
Is actually such a focal point for men to want to pat
Or squeeze, and then to tease her if it’s eminently stout,
Or even risk a stay in clink to sting it with a clout!
After all, we men are tuned to be that way inclined –
And tho’ our needs are varied, girls, they’re all perverse of mind!
Best of all, our sacred dream: to see her shed her gown
When gliding to the shower for the ritual sponging down.
But then alas! With body lathered, oops! she drops the soap;
‘Please! ’ we beg her, ‘bend and bare! ’ But we can only hope!
I’m sure by now you get the picture – like a rule of thumb –
That men like me obsess all day about the fairer bum.

Women And Poems
With as much pain as a human being becomes a woman,
That much pain makes a woman a poet.
A word takes a long year to be made,
a poem an entire life.
When woman becomes a poet, she is totally a woman.
Then she is mature enough to give birth from her suffering heart,
Then she knows how to care for a word.
You have to be a woman first if you want to give birth to a poem.
A word without any pain is fragile, breaks when touched.
Who knows more than a woman all the lanes and alleys of pain!

Her Bum
‘Does my bum look big in this? ’ She glared.
I gulped and stared upon the floor.
I must escape; the bedroom door
Was open. ‘Run! ’ my senses cried.
But I was numb – nerves were fried!
‘Well? ’ She scowled. I sought a subterfuge.
‘It’s absolutely huge! ’ I thought –
But how to tell her that–? A short
And blighted life she’d wreak on me.
And so to Wife, on bended knee
I prayed ‘Oh please release me from this hell! ’
She gave a yell: ‘So is it big? ’
I looked again – a mammoth rig
Was hanging down – but how to say?
An honest man would surely pay!
I stuttered ‘Err... well, yes it’s nice.’
Her voice was ice: ‘But in this? ’
I tried diversion with a kiss.
‘I love you’ also burbled out – but
I was heading for a rout.
I drew a breath. ‘Be a man! ’ I growled
Inside this howling, quaking head.
‘Well actually love, ’ and now I’m dead,
‘It’s colossal – a real whopper... ’
The bedroom shook; I couldn’t stop her.
I daren’t publish anymore…

The Woman Before Me
(written by jude johnstone)
I can see you turn away
When I ask what for
You say it isnt anything
But Im not sure
Somethin underneath the skin
Wont let you be
And you try to keep it in
But I can see
The woman before me
Must have been hard on you
cause that hurt in your eyes
I never put you through
Sometimes I think
You must be talking to
The woman before me and you
Sometimes in an argument
It will show
When you go a little farther than
You meant to go
I know you dont mean the things
That you say
I just wanna ease the pain
Thats in your way
The woman before me
Must have been hard on you
cause that hurt in your eyes
I never put you through
Sometimes I think
You must be talking to
The woman before me and you
If there are sorrows that bring back a tear
Dont let them keep us apart
You ought to know youve got nothing to fear
Here in my heart
cause you and I will never be
Like the past
Whatever kind of memories
That you have
Nothins gonna hurt you now
Cant you see
I already made a vow
That I can keep
But the woman before me
Must have been hard on you
cause that hurt in your eyes
I never put you through
Sometimes I think
You must be talking to
The woman before me and you
Sometimes I think
You must be talking to
The woman before me and you

She Says She Is Not The Fourth Woman
I give her the benefit of the doubt
Well, when I wrote that poem she was inside my head
And I dived as a submarine
Into a little sea of understanding
And she is the periscope
There are waves and
Some uncertain destinations
Where to go
Where to stop
How to describe the places above land
And underwater
She was in my mind when I wrote that
And I gave her a lot of forms:
a bird,
a bat,
a dinosaur,
a fighter,
a warrior
And I was so sure about her, because
She once told me
About her agitations
I got premonitions though that when she reads it
She will deny herself
The pleasure of seeing her own movie
Her own character in the game
That she loves and she is
Really into.
Indeed, she says she is not.
I give her
Due process. She may not be that fourth woman
But to my mind
she is and she giggles in my brain
And she even asks me: how much is that brain?
That pound of flesh? Did you buy me respect?
Darling, my brain is yours through and through
My flesh is just a finger away, a lip away, a tongue away
Respect is not for sale,
it is earned
with time, and
Honesty
To feelings
Now, I give respect you respect.
You are that fourth woman.
You are the woman of my life.
I appear to you naked.
Touch me. Feel me.
Be honest.
Say that you love me.
Tell me that you care.
I am your submarine. You will be my sea and I will not be afraid
Of uncertain destinations. I am bound to be lost anyway.

And always you will find...
And always you will find a woman's hand,
Which, being fresh and light,
With pity and with love,
You, as a brother, will alleviate.
And always you will find a woman's shoulder,
In which you can breathe in a passion
And lean to it with a dissipated head,
Entrusting your mutinous dream by that.
And alway you will find the woman's eyes,
Which, by the damping of your inner pain,
Or may be not entire, but the part,
Can see your suffering that day.
But there exists one woman's hand,
Which is especially sweet,
When touching your exhausted forehead,
It's like the eternity and destiny.
But there exists one woman's shoulder,
Which's given once by the unknown purpose
Not only for night, but, surely, for all time -
You realized that long ago.
But there exist one woman's eyes,
Which look at you with the lasting sadness,
And they are till the end of life -
The eyes of your Love and your Conscience.

Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: XVII
I touched that knee. She did not show surprise,
And the earth had not opened at our feet.
She did not even laugh. Her foolish eyes
Twinkled a moment in her cheeks, then set
Like fog--bound stars for ever from my sight.
And at a signal from the little woman,
Who clung to me still, a chorus left and right
Of laughter rose Homeric and inhuman,
Drowning all further sense in one wild roar.
I heard the spotted girl with leopard lips
Complain that she was hungry as before,
And all the world was merged in an eclipse,
Darkening the air around and overhead,
And then I broke away and turned and fled.

A Woman And The Dog!
Leopards pinpoints each other with black spot
So dogs with a smell
One day you found this dog
Charming, appealing and man enough
So bold and strong to fulfills your lust.
That's then
You have lent all that, from the dog!
Loving, caring and romance
A dog that was raised by a woman
Not knowing that she is raising a dog
A barking dog, Woof! Woof! !
You are a bloody dog!
You earn to be in doorstep
All daylong and all nightlong
To divert your doggy conduct
You are never enough
You have love, a beautiful woman
And living luxurious life.
You are a skirt chaser.
Whenever you see a woman
Your tongue is out.
Craving to undress her
That's all that your conscious is for
'All men are dogs'
Said angry woman
So all the women are married to dogs
Shame! On you woman
Your virginity was broken by a dog

Battered Doll
A red dress for blood spilt,
Torn blouse for flesh rent;
Ladders in the stockings –
A rung for every callous blow landed.
Scuffed shoes winked about the kicks –
After all, bruise-gorged eyes can’t –
Just permanently closed.
Burning tears were scant warmth
Against a chill from ugly cries.
Lipstick smudges on the chin to
Nullify all vestiges of beauty –
Those that constituted rare patches
Of purest cream skin, from
Days of feminine joy, telling once
Upon a time there was an angel…
But now, a battered doll.

Don’t Trust a WOMAN! ! !
Don’t trust a woman. They lie, manipulate, and deceive.
Don’t trust a woman. They say things to get you to believe,
That what they say is real and true, but listen to me as I tell you.
Don’t trust a woman. Lies are only what they can achieve.
Don’t give your heart away to a woman. They’ll crush, and stomp on it till it bleeds.
Don’t give your heart away to a woman. They’ll use you just to fulfill there needs.
They will turn to you for only a reason, but tear you apart in every years’ season…
Don’t give your heart away to a woman. Upon it is what a woman does feeds.
Don’t care for a woman. They never will care for you back.
Don’t care for a woman. Everything I’ve said is the plain fact.
She will show you the angel inside, but it’s the devil in her that she hides.
Don’t care for a woman. If you do, you won’t get your heart back.
Don’t fall head over heals in love for a woman. You will only lose in the end.
Don’t fall head over heals in love for a woman. Let them only be ur friend.
If you do, you will fall one day really hard, and your heart will be left chard.
Don’t fall head over heals in love for a woman. Just use them for what god did intend.
This might sound harsh, but it is reality…..
Word of advice to all men and boys…..

Dont Hurt A Woman
I was angry, I said things I shouldnt say
But please dont turn your back
Sometimes I get so upset
But I take it all back
Please dont go, I know I was wrong
Sometimes I dont know what comes over me
But I try to remember
Dont hurt a woman
Dont hurt a woman
I was angry, I said things I shouldnt say
I must have lost control
Sometimes something clicks in my head
And Im not myself anymore
That wasnt me, you cant believe everything you see
Lets make believe I never said a word
And Ill try to remember
Dont hurt a woman
Try to remember
Dont hurt a woman
Try to remember
Dont hurt a woman
Ill try to remember
Dont hurt a woman
cause I lovin you
So long

Smart Woman
Smart woman (in a real short skirt)
By: jimmy buffett, marshall chapman
1988
This song is about being in my 40's in the 80's. it seems i'm learing more than i'm forgetting.
-- spoken:
"so i told her, ooh you got money of your own? well, that gives me the urge to merge."
Bimbo limbo is where i've been
I know you know that it's wearing me thin
The times are changing, and it's about time
I'm rearrangin' all the guilt in my mind
Chorus:
I'm looking for a smart woman in a real short skirt
Smart woman who knows how to flirt
Smart woman got a mind of her own
Smart woman that'll take me home
Take me home
I'm not your macho kind of guy
But i can be so when i'm feeling shy
Hey, baby, where'd you get your good looks
Ooh, babe, i want to carry your books
Chorus:
I'm looking for a smart woman in a real short skirt
Smart woman who knows how to flirt
Smart woman got a mind of her own
Smart woman that'll take me home
Take me home
Beauty and brains (beauty and brains)
Best of both worlds (best of both worlds)
Think i can change (think i can change)
If you'll be my, be my, be my girl
Chorus:
I'm looking for a smart woman in a real short skirt
Smart woman who knows how to flirt
Smart woman got a mind of her own
Smart woman that'll take me home
Take me home
Chorus:
I'm looking for a smart woman in a real short skirt
Smart woman who knows how to flirt
Smart woman got a mind of her own
Smart woman better take me home
Take me home

Woman, Woman
This may be respectful but you held me an extra month
Three blood gushed out before I was beamed by
Sunlight and you were not in a right time to deliver
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I might be adamant but you molded me too early
I might be the biggest fool on this world
And I hated it when you made me intelligent like them
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I might be so selfish but you still treated me normal
I'm not normal since I am an extra month held by you
And everyone looks at me with piercing eyes
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I did my best but you angrily pushed me to be more of me
I wanted to do this and that but your eyes always watched me
Like you're some kind of omniscient being in clouds
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I was not prepared but why did you leave me abruptly?
All these tupperwares around me hid to me your stains
The name of the pain that you have also hidden to me
Woman, why did you betray me?
Woman, Woman
Your loss gave me no Merry Christmas since you left me
I had two graduations you failed to attend and now
The third is coming, when will I hear you're proud of me?
Woman, why did you leave me?
Woman, Woman
I am free to choose my path but yours is still the one
The one I still chose since you're not here, I will
Run the steps you have walked and try to surpass them
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I was waiting for you on the gate every afternoon you came
Now that you are not here, no one is asking me today
'How's your day? ' which I've done when you're still here
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
How will I move on from you when the life I chose is yours?
How will I know that you are proud of me or glad
Of all the achievements I got most of which I've done for you?
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I have never understood how much love you have given me
Since 10: 10 AM of April until 11: 10 AM of the 13th day
Of November almost eight years ago, maybe beyond my birth
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I can be considered mature but I still lone for your kiss
I still blame you for things I can't do but still thank
You because you taught me that freedom is not really free
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, Woman
I call you woman because I want to how show you I'm big now
But I still long to call you Mama, yet
No ears will be a landing place for those words now
Woman, why did you love me?
Woman, how can I return the love you've shown
When you are already inside that concrete box and
Your soul's somewhere far from where I stand now

Man vs Woman
They say:
In every man’s success,
There is a woman behind,
In every man’s downfall,
There is always a woman involved,
A woman without a man
Is nothing
But a woman, her man,
Is nothing
I will add to that:
In every woman’s love,
Is man’s happiness,
A voluble woman,
Is man’s shame
And I will further said:
A man’s wealth,
Is every woman’s dream,
A man’s generosity,
Is every woman’s extravagance
Therefore:
Man is always in the defensive,
Woman is always in the offensive,
Or, is it the other way round?
Which ever way,
Only he or she knows,
Who’s to capitulate
My advice:
Let man and woman,
Be labile to each other,
Or, let both lionized each other

The Woman In Me
Dancing close feeling restless
It's a slow and sultry night
It'll take a lifetime till sunrise if you won't stay with me tonight
Feel your breath caress my shoulder as your heart reads my mind
You don't have to tell me anything
I can see everything in your eyes
It's so easy with you
I don't need an excuse to be the woman in me
It's so hard to believe that I'm feeling so free to be the woman in me
Baby there's so much no man has ever touched of the woman in me
I might be trembling but I'm not scared
Just my desire breaking free
I've never had a chance like this before to unlock all the doors to be the woman in me
It's so hard to believe that I'm feeling so free to be the woman in me
Baby there's so much no man has even touched of the woman in me
Like the dark side of the full moon
I've never shown what I'm showing to you
It's so easy with you I don't need an excuse to be the woman in me
It's so hard to believe that I'm feeling so free to be the woman in me
It's so easy with you. I don't need an excuse to be the woman in me
It's so hard to believe that I'm felling so free to be the woman in me

Miracle
Believe in me for everything i was doing was right for you
and everything here resembles the reasons why i escaped for you.
We are in peace.
They will go and die in peace.
These feelings have knocked me cold,
These feelings have knocked me cold.
But where now?Where to hide?
But where now? Where to hide?
Come leave with me to walk through the desert, soak up all oracle.
And we will combine because you're my one and only miracle.
We are in pieces,
They will go and die in peace.
These feelings have knocked me cold,
These feelings have knocked me cold.
But where now?Where to hide?
but where now?Where to hide?
You will never know.
You will never know how much pain and hurt, there is burning inside my flesh.
You will never know how much pain and hurt, there is burning inside my flesh.
You will never know how much pain and hurt, there is burning inside my flesh.
You will never know how pain pain and hurt, there is burning inside my flesh.
These feelings have knocked me cold,
These feelings have knocked me cold.
But where now?Where to hide?
But where now?Where to hide?
You will never know how much pain and hurt, there is burning inside my flesh.
You will never know how much pain and hurt, there is burning inside my flesh.

Harlem Woman
Written by orbison/melson
The woman is out on her own.
Walking the streets, sad and alone.
Yes she sells herself for nickles and dimes.
These are hard times for a harlem woman.
Harlem woman.
Yes you work at night.i have held you tight.
But youre not aware of how much I care.
No you cant see your babys been hungry and cold.
So long nights through, go on and do what you must do,
I love you.i love you harlem woman.
Harlem woman.
Sometimes I cry, but Ill get by till your mine alone.
So carry on to other arms, tender but strong.
Till you belong to me
Harlem woman hang on.
Ill take you away.
Someday Ill set you free to be with only me.
Till then Ill know,...
Lord knows, Ill know
They can buy the body
But not the soul of my harlem woman
Harlem woman, harlem woman
Hang on

Woman Machine
She'll do your work in half the time
Never sick and can't go blind
Oh, woman machine
Brains of tape that fill her head
She knows more now than all the dead
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Heart of steel and skin that's cold
Can't wear her out, she can't grow old
Oh, woman machine
She goes to bed when her work is through
She'll do it all, just change the tubes
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine-ine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman
She can't talk back
With no playback
But she'll listen
To all your woe
Trade your old one
For a new one
They just don't make 'em like they used to
No!
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine

Madonna Whore
What are you thinking when you're looking at me
What can you tell me of reality?
I'm only woman... not just a Fantasy
and the flesh and blood is warmer than some color transparency
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try to reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore, that's right
What are you thinking when you push me away
Was it some promise in your youth you made?
Holding out for something or hoping to be saved
Does it make you feel power or are you just afraid of me?
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try to reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore, that's right
I don't know
if you say so
got so many do's and don'ts my head is spinning
Hey Romeo, j-j-j-just let get go
maybe everything could use a little sinning
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try and reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try and reduce me but I'm so much more
