A New Pilgrimage: Sonnet XXXII
To--day I was at Milan, in such thought
As pilgrims bring who at faith's threshold stand,
Still burdened with the sorrows they have brought,
And vexed with stranger tongues in a strange land.
And lo, this sign was given me. At my hand
Hung that mysterious supper Vinci wrought
With the sad twelve who were Christ's chosen band,
A type of vows and courage come to nought.
And, while I gazed, with a reproachful look
The bread was broken and the wine was poured,
And the disciples raised their hands and spoke,
Each asking ``Is it I? and I too? Lord!''
And there was answered them this mournful cry:
``All shall abandon me to--night.'' So I.

Today... 'Living Bread
The Living Bread came from heaven
down upon earth to dwell
That we might eat of Him and live
and thus be saved from hell.
To taste and see that the Lord was good
I went to Calvary.
Saw Jesus on that cross of wood
broken there for me.
Your body was broken
and Your blood poured
I was forgiven
Thank You Lord.
******
In Your banqueting house I stayed
on the table I could see
The Bread and the wine had been laid
Speaking such love to me
Bread was broken
the wine was poured
I stand forgiven
Thank You Lord

As The Red Wine Into The Cup Is Poured
Christ the Lamb upon the alter stone.
Christ the sacrifice to atone.
Christ's blood, the wines a token.
Christ the bread that was broken.
As the grape was crushed to make the wine
so Christ was crushed for sins of mine.
As the red wine into the cup was poured
so Christ for me His blood outpoured.
As the bread was broken that we share
so Christ was broken upon the cross there.
'Father forgive, ' I hear Him cry
so I could live He was willing to die.
I think that at the supper I neither receive flesh nor blood, but bread and wine; which bread when it is broken, and the wine when it is drunken, put me in remembrance how that for my sins the body of Christ was broken, and his blood shed on the cross.
To Ride The Wind (1)
I’m saved O Lord, yet who’d have thought
Upon Your wind I’d ride
Your precious Gift that Jesus brought
Is burning deep inside
From billions! Lord, You’ve set me free
Through nought I’ve ever done
I’m grateful that a child like me
May serve Your living Son
To ride The Wind, how could I hope?
Your Spirit would abide?
But now the question’s how to cope?
With all this joy inside!
I’ve never thought like this before
Nor felt the way I do
I never knew what life was for
Until I came to You
Until my God, I saw The Light
Received Your brand new wine
I never thought in Christ I’d fight
Nor count Your Wind as mind
I felt Your glow at Jesus’ feet
Sampling there Life’s Bread
I knew The Wind, Your Healing Heat
Had raised me from the dead
Within Your hand I’ll never fail
I’ve now Your saving grace
Upon The wind I’ll surely sail
Until I’ve won the race
For you my God, are at my side
Your Flame burns bright within
Should I now fear with You as guide?
I can’t do less than win…PTO…

Usher Them Away
Take all of our troubles off the ground, Lord.
Take all of our troubles off the ground.
Take all of our troubles off the ground, Lord.
Take all these troubles up...
Fulfill the ones burdened with empty cups,
And take those who have corrupted trust from us!
Take these sorrows from our shores, Lord!
Take these sorrows from our shores.
Take these sorrows from our shores, Lord!
These sorrows have come too close to our doors...
Pouring down with anguish we have tried to ignore.
Help us with faith usher them away!
Today they must leave...
They are not welcomed to stay!
Let us find in our hearts that special spot,
That will take this madness that saddens us out!
Erasing it completely to leave no doubt...
Strengthening our faith to show that's what we're about!
Take all of our troubles off the ground, Lord!
Help us have the courage to say...
This is not the way we choose live!

Today... 'Bread
Manna of Heaven coming from God
walked with us and earths pathways trod.
Come let's taste and see that the Lord is good
and not just settle for plain earthly food
There is Bread that God to mankind did give
So that we might all eat of it and live.
The Body of Christ is that Bread given
The Bread of Life that came down from heaven.
This Bread was stricken and smitten of God
when up the hill of Calvary He trod.
He was wounded and broken there for me
bore the price of sin that I might go free.
I've been to communion with You Lord
Broke the Bread in accordance with Your Word.
No bread of earth tasted so sweet and fair
as the bread I broke supping with You there
Such a feast was set by God before men
sweet Bread and wine laid upon the table then.
Bread broken for iniquities of mine
and into the cup poured the blood red wine
As I broke the bread Lord, I heard You say
'This is my body broken for you that day.'
Then I closed my eyes and I saw You Lord
hanging for me upon the cross of wood.
I heard You cry in pain and agony
Shout 'My God why have you forsaken me.'
Then 'Father forgive them ', I heard You say
for those that drove the nails in deep that day.
Your body bearing the sins of mankind
was wounded for these transgressions of mine.
Bowing Your head becoming Broken Bread
as You bore the wrath of God in my stead.
Broken for me was that Heavenly Bread
for my sins You suffered and You bled.
Wondrous love has been shown my God to me
for I'm saved by Your death at Calvary.
Praise God for the Bread that came from Heaven.
Praise God for the life that He has given.
Grace and mercy He lavished upon me
when the Bread was broken upon that tree.

Broken Man
I'm a broken man
This here's my broken band
From a broken land
We take the good, the bad
Yeah
I'm a broken man
From a broken land
This here's my broken band
From your hand
Yeah
I'm a broken man
This here's my broken band
From a broken land
We call Detroit City
There's no blood on these hands
That's why we came to take a stand
We take the good, we take the bad
It's all we ever -
It's all we had
Yeah
I'm a broken man [x6]

Twelve disciples of Christ
Selected by the hand of Christ
twelve men you were chosen to be
each one in your own time to be
with your own special talents
for a purpose to be
Chosen to serve
the Son of the Living God
obedient to the Father
you were to be
all of you left behind
your houses and loved ones
your towns, villages
all that you knew
to go into the world
to serve Christ, the Lord
Power and authority
were given to all
to combat and defeat
the enemy of old times
to cure the sick
and to drive out demons
to preach the good news of salvation
to the unbelievers of the world
for all to be saved
that chose to be free
Obedient and strong you were
to go forth on the road
you were taken on in faith
to confirm to the world
that Christ was real in faith
that He was the Son
of the living God, the Messiah
You all learned from
the Master Jesus Christ himself
He taught you to travel
on the narrow road
to travel on it without
fear and doubt
twelve men differently in character
all on the same road
what a privilege
you all had to serve Christ

The Last Supper
They are assembled, astonished and disturbed
round him, who like a sage resolved his fate,
and now leaves those to whom he most belonged,
leaving and passing by them like a stranger.
The loneliness of old comes over him
which helped mature him for his deepest acts;
now will he once again walk through the olive grove,
and those who love him still will flee before his sight.
To this last supper he has summoned them,
and (like a shot that scatters birds from trees)
their hands draw back from reaching for the loaves
upon his word: they fly across to him;
they flutter, frightened, round the supper table
searching for an escape. But he is present
everywhere like an all-pervading twilight-hour.

We’ve Faith To Hope
When peace on earth has blessed our ground
When innocent of sin
Then Christ God’s Lamb we’ve truly found
And Fire burns deep within
With peace God brings His love inside
Brings faith The Truth to learn
Brings hope to be the faithful bride
Of Christ who’ll soon return
Faith is the hope of that unseen
Of promises divine
That we one day as Heaven’s queen
May drink eternal wine
What hope has faith that’s placed in man?
What hope can such faith bring?
Is this not part of Satan’s plan?
To grieve our Lord and King
The word of God is all too plain
The past has shown quite clear
There’s nought to learn, there’s nought to gain
From man who’s wisdom’s here
We need to seek for higher things
We need to seek The Light
We need to seek the truth Christ sings
On pages black on white
Knowledge will come with wisdom’s dawn
Waiting at Jesus feet
We’ll drink His blood and be reborn
Through spiritual food we eat
By faith alone these things are done
Through faith we understand
That through our faith true life is won
Within God’s Promised Land

The Blessing
THE MASTER He was hungry:
‘Shall we not dine,’ said He,
‘On the good fruit amongst the leaves
Of this delightful tree?’
But oh! the fig-tree bore no fruit.
‘Wither,’ He bade it, ‘to the root,
For thus deceiving me.’
The Master He was hungry.
He plucked the grains so red
Of wheat that grew beside the way,
And He was bravely fed.
‘For this,’ He said, ‘I guerdon thee,
Through all the years, a type to be
Of Christ, the Living Bread.’
The Master He was thirsty.
He raised His hand on high,
And crushed the good red grapes that grew
The nearest to the sky.
‘And as thou gavest me drink of thine,
So must I pour my blood, O Vine,
When I for man shall die.’
The Master He was passing
From men He held so dear.
The feast with bread and wine was made;
The Friday Cross was near.
‘Droop not!’ He spoke, and blessed their food:
‘The broken Body and the Blood
Sustain you year by year.’
And corn and wine thenceforth have stood
His symbols everywhere.

To Eat For Three
Seventy palm trees,
Twelve wells of water;
Life is like a romantic night by the fire place.
Oh bread of heaven,
Come up to me on the mountain!
Oh pots of meat,
Come and put me in shape;
Life is like a romantic night by the fire place.
From Ur to Rome,
From Rameses to Succoth,
From Accra to New York,
From Lagos to Bahamas,
I am a stranger in a foreign land.
Fire, wine, husband and wife;
Life is like a romantic night by the fire place.
To eat for three matters to me,
To learn for three matters to you,
I am in a new world learning how to speak!
With my eyes darker than wine,
With my teeth whiter than milk,
Like a strong donkey lying down by two saddles.
This is the joy that i bring to you,
This is the muse of a journey to eat for three;
Life is like a romantic night by the fire place.
Pots of meat,
Bread of heaven,
Of my teeth whiter than snow;
I am a stranger in a foreign land.

I Stand In Awe
Indeed once again I stand in awe, as God is so big and I’m so small,
And yet, He showed His love for me, by sending His Son to Calvary,
Sent not to be praised by men, but so that He would be condemned,
As Christ had come to this earth, so that I could have a second birth.
Friend, once again, I stand amazed, that a sinner, like me was raised,
Raised up by God to a New Life, through His Only Son, Jesus Christ,
And now positioned in Heaven above, sealed forever by God’s Love,
Paying for all men, sin’s full price, by sending Jesus as our Sacrifice.
As death is the penalty for our sin, and that was all placed upon Him,
Upon Jesus, God’s Eternal Son, not simply for me, but for everyone,
For all the sin of this entire world, upon Him, God’s Wrath was hurled,
Down upon the Cross of Calvary; God’s wrath meant for you and me.
In truth I’m humbled by the thought, that salvation for all was wrought,
Truly, for each and every nation, affirmed by Christ’s own declaration,
“It Is Finished” while on the cross, God’s Salvation, for all sinners lost,
As all the world’s Eternal Creator, became for all men Lord and Savior.
All of our punishment, Christ endured, while God’s Wrath was poured,
Upon God’s Lamb, in our place, as He established this Age of Grace,
With Christ’s act He would preserve, an Eternal Life, we don’t deserve,
As Holy Children of God’s Family, to reign with Jesus Christ Eternally.

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Matthew (Chapter 9)
By boat, He crossed and came to His own town;
They brought a paralytic on a bed;
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to him,
‘Courage, your sins have been forgiven you.’
At this some scribes began to tell themselves,
‘This man blasphemes for He forgives man’s sins! ’
As Jesus knew what they were thinking then,
He asked, ‘Why do you harbor evil thoughts? ’
Say which is easier saying, ‘Your sins are
Forgiven or rise and walk, ’ Thus Jesus asked.
‘To prove the Son of Man has power on earth
To forgive sins, He told the sick person,
‘Arise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.’
The man rose immediately and went home.
Awe-struck, the crowd then glorified the Lord,
For giving such authority to man.
As Jesus passed, he saw a man Matthew,
Sitting at the customs’ post. He told him,
‘Follow me.’ He got up and followed Him.’
And at the table, in His house, there sat
Tax-collectors and sinners with Jesus.
The Pharisees then asked his disciples,
‘Why does your teacher eat with such people? ’
As Jesus heard, he said, ‘Those that are well
Don’t need a physician but sick ones do.’
‘Go learn the meaning of the words, ’ He said:
‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice;
I came to call sinners, and not righteous.’
Then the disciples of John asked Jesus,
‘Why do the Pharisees and we, fast much?
Why don’t your disciples fast anytime? ’
Then Jesus asked, ‘Can wedding guests mourn when
Their bridegroom stays along with them as long?
Those days will come when bridegroom has to leave,
And then the wedding guests will fast like you.’
‘No one will patch an old cloak with new cloth;
For, when the new cloth shrinks, the tear gets worse.
Neither they put new wine in old wine-skins;
For, both the skins burst and the wine spills out.
They fill new wine in only new wine-skins;
Both are preserved and destroyed is not one.’
Just then, an official came to Jesus,
Knelt down to Him and said, ‘My daughter’s dead! ’
But if you lay your hand on her, she’ll live.’
Jesus followed him with his disciples.
A woman menorrhagic for twelve years,
Behind him came and touched His cloak’s tassel;
She said to herself, ‘If I can but touch
The fringe of His garment, I shall be cured!
Then Jesus turned around and said to her,
‘Courage my daughter, your faith has saved you.’
And at that moment, that woman got cured.
When Jesus reached the official’s house, then
A crowd had gathered, causing commotion;
He said, ‘Just leave, the girl’s not dead but sleeps! ’
The people there ridiculed Him for this;
When Jesus took the girl by hand, she rose;
The news then spread throughout the land quite fast.
As Jesus passed, two blind men followed Him,
And cried, ‘O son of David, pity us.’
When Jesus asked them, ‘Do you believe me? ’
They replied, ‘Yes, .my Lord, in one loud voice.
Then Jesus touched their eyes in turns and said,
‘Let it be done according to your faith.’
They got their sight and Jesus warned sternly,
‘See that none come to know about your sight.’
But they went out and spread word of Jesus.
By then, a mute demoniac was brought;
And when the demon was sent out, he spoke.
The crowd was astonished when this happened.
They said, ‘Nothing like this has Israel seen.’
But Pharisees then said, ‘Prince of demons
Is able to drive out other demons.’
Then Jesus went to towns and villages,
And taught in synagogues in all temples,
Proclaiming Gospel of the kingdom and
Curing diseases and illnesses all.
His heart was filled with pity seeing crowds,
Who looked abandoned and troubled in life,
And wandered akin sheep without shepherd.
He said, ‘The harvest is so abundant;
But laborers are few in number found;
So, ask the Master for more harvesters!

The Apostles
(3/9/12)
Different directions the apostles had traveled
Most of life's questions - CHRIST had unraveled.
They had questions and doubts as many do
But what they saw in CHRIST
They knew his words were true.
So many miracles that they had seen
But their faith was always tested in between.
They fell asleep when CHRIST went to the
Mountaintop to pray- they couldn't keep
Their eyes open- what could they say.
When CHRIST fell asleep in the boat
And the winds and rain began
Fear entered their hearts and they
Woke CHRIST for his helping hand.
The lord questioned their faith
As he raised his hands to the sky
As the winds and rains did subside.
The biggest tests were yet to come
After the last supper was done.
Betrayal, denial, and crucifixion
Was in motion - to find out each
Ones devotion.
He predicted that Judas would betray him
And peter would deny him three times
And for him the end of the line.
Now we all know that this was gods plan
That the apostles will preach throughout the lands
They would create Christianity, and it would live
Through eternity.

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Matthew (Chapter 14)
When tetrarch Herod then had heard
About Jesus’ reputation,
He told his servants, ‘This is John,
The Baptist, who’as been raised from dead,
Because of which mighty powers
Are seen at work in him right now.’
For, Herod had arrested John,
Bound him and threw him in prison,
Because of Herodiaz, wife
Of his brother Philip, as John
Had told Herod, ‘’Tis unlawful
For you to have your brother’s wife! ’
Although, he wanted to kill him,
He feared the people who had high
Regards for John as a Prophet.
Herodiaz’s daughter then,
Performed a dance for Herod’s sake,
On his birthday celebration.
Herod was so delighted then,
He swore to give her what she asked.
Her mother prompted her to ask
For John’s head on a platter kept!
Although the king was distressed, still
He ordered her request be done,
As he had promised before guests.
So, John was beheaded in jail.
His head was put on a platter,
And given to the girl who took
And gave it to her mother then.
His disciples carried the corpse,
And buried it and told Jesus.
On hearing news then Jesus went
By boat to secluded a spot,
By himself but the crowds followed.
His heart felt pity for the crowd;
And so, He cured the sick, they brought.
When evening came, his disciples
Then told, ‘This is a deserted place,
And it is already so late;
They wanted crowd to go and eat,
By buying food in villages.’
But Jesus said, ‘There is no need
For them to leave, give them some food.’
They said that there were five loaves just
And two fishes with them that time.
Then Jesus said, ‘Go bring them here.’
He ordered them sit on the grass.
He took the five loaves and two fish
And looking up to heaven, blessed;
He broke the bread and gave to all
His disciples, and crowds were fed.
They ate with satisfaction great.
The fragments remaining were picked,
Which were twelve wicker basketfuls.
There were five thousand men at least,
Not counting children and women.
By boat, his disciples then went,
As crowds by Jesus were off sent.
Up the mountain, He went to pray,
And was alone, by evening, Aye!
Meanwhile the boat had gone some miles;
It was tossed by fierce winds and waves;
And by the fourth watch of the night,
Came Jesus walking on the sea!
His disciples got terrified,
On seeing Him walk on the sea.
In fear, they cried out, ‘’Tis a ghost! ’
But, Jesus said to them, ‘Its I,
Take courage, do not be afraid.’
Then, Peter said in reply, ‘Lord,
If it is you, command me too
To walk on water, towards you.’
He said, ‘Come Peter! ’ and he walked
Upon the water to Jesus!
But when he found the wind so strong,
He feared that he would only sink,
And cried out loudly, ‘Lord, save me! ’
So, Jesus stretched His hand and held
The frightened Peter and told him,
‘Of little faith, why did you doubt?
The wind had died as they climbed boat!
And those upon the boat remarked,
‘You are the Son of God, truly! ’
And after helping them to cross,
He came to Gennesaret land.
The men recognized Jesus there;
And sent word to others around.
They brought to Him all who were sick,
And those who touched His cloak’s tassel,
Were healed as if by miracle!

Being As A Child
Parents brought their children to Christ one day
But others didn't like it-wante dto send them away
The Lord loved the children and had them stay
He was firm with the disciples-and had His say
'Children are welcome-the Kingdom is theirs
To join Me in Heaven and be My heirs
The Kingdom is yours but there is only one way
Be like these children nad you'll live there one day'
The words He spoke are true yet today
Even now there is only one way
Being like a child and trusting His Word
CLaiming Him as friend, Savior and Lord
So no matter your age when you come to Him
Come with childlike faith and He'll accept you in

Hosanna
Hosanna to our Lord and King, peace to many He shall bring,
A peace with God in our life, through our faith in Jesus Christ,
Many will be, by God, justified, by faith, in the One who died,
Christ, who died for all men, as in sin they stood condemned.
Hosanna to our Lord above, who fills men with unending love,
The Love of God poured on us, when in God we put our trust,
Trust in the work of our Lord, through who, the love is poured,
Down upon all believing hearts, a pure love that never departs.
Hosanna to our Lord of Hope, who helps us in our trials cope,
Through God’s endless Grace, we obtain through saving faith,
Hope extending beyond earth, to all who experience new birth,
Hope extended to each nation, to men who embrace salvation.
Hosanna to the One who came, to this earth that He may claim,
A peoples of His very Own, to gather about His Eternal Throne,
Saving them out of all their sin, when they put their faith in Him,
Not left here to stray and roam, given by God, an eternal home.
Hosanna to our Savior and God, who brought Hope to this sod,
The Love of God came for all, to save sinners from Adam’s fall,
Bringing peace to all at enmity, with God, by the way of Calvary,
When justified by God above, to grant us peace, hope and love.

St.Gregory's Guest
A TALE for Roman guides to tell
To careless, sight-worn travellers still,
Who pause beside the narrow cell
Of Gregory on the Caelian Hill.
One day before the monk's door came
A beggar, stretching empty palms,
Fainting and fast-sick, in the name
Of the Most Holy asking alms.
And the monk answered, 'All I have
In this poor cell of mine I give,
The silver cup my mother gave;
In Christ's name take thou it, and live.'
Years passed; and, called at last to bear
The pastoral crook and keys of Rome,
The poor monk, in Saint Peter's chair,
Sat the crowned lord of Christendom.
'Prepare a feast,' Saint Gregory cried,
'And let twelve beggars sit thereat.'
The beggars came, and one beside,
An unknown stranger, with them sat.
'I asked thee not,' the Pontiff spake,
'O stranger; but if need be thine,
I bid thee welcome, for the sake
Of Him who is thy Lord and mine.'
A grave, calm face the stranger raised,
Like His who on Gennesaret trod,
Or His on whom the Chaldeans gazed,
Whose form was as the Son of God.
'Know'st thou,' he said, 'thy gift of old?'
And in the hand he lifted up
The Pontiff marvelled to behold
Once more his mother's silver cup.
'Thy prayers and alms have risen, and bloom
Sweetly among the flowers of heaven.
I am The Wonderful, through whom
Whate'er thou askest shall be given.'
He spake and vanished. Gregory fell
With his twelve guests in mute accord
Prone on their faces, knowing well
Their eyes of flesh had seen the Lord.
The old-time legend is not vain;
Nor vain thy art, Verona's Paul,
Telling it o'er and o'er again
On gray Vicenza's frescoed wall.
Still wheresoever pity shares
Its bread with sorrow, want, and sin,
And love the beggar's feast prepares,
The uninvited Guest comes in.
Unheard, because our ears are dull,
Unseen, because our eyes are dim,
He walks our earth, The Wonderful,
And all good deeds are done to Him.

By His Hand
Be still to watch the Hand of the Lord, as our ways are not ignored,
By Jesus Christ, throned high above, any trial, which you speak of;
There is purpose in our trials friend, as many will see come the end,
When in Christ you take your stand, as He guides us with His Hand.
God’s Hand held up high, shall guide, all those who in Christ abide,
As Believers wait upon The Lord, His Grace, down on us is poured,
Filling us with peace, from up above, as God guides is in His Love,
With His Purpose above our ways, as Christ guides us all our days.
God has His Uplifted Hand, raised to guide us in ways He planned,
Planned before we were on earth, even well before our natural birth,
Friend, even when we lived in sin, well before, any thoughts of Him,
God’s Plan led us to Jesus Christ, to receive from Him Eternal Life.
God’s Hand indeed guides all of us, all who belong to Christ Jesus,
He Who redeemed us from the fall, daily guides and protects us all,
God guides us on a path of Grace, as we learn to seek Gods Face,
For God’s Will shall surely be done, as we’re led by Christ, His Son.
By His Hand, He will take us home, where we’ll gather at His Throne,
High above all the earthly clouds, gathered round Heavenly Crowds,
As we join God’s Heavenly Throng, we shall join in praise and song,
To our Lord God through eternity, for all He’s done, for you and me.
