I lost a gem
too young to be deceived i was
that after the last days he shall rise

I Was Happy Once But Didn't Know It
I was happy once but didn’t know it
Like sands flowing through my hands I blew it
Stupid and selfish I was being
Couldn’t communicate what I was feeling
Lost it all one day online
From time to time I still wish she were still mine
Someone now I can never find
She was once so loving, tender, and kind
My young ones gone to another state
Years now gone maybe eight
My youngest girl it’s me now she hates
It wasn’t me that opened the floodgates
I told I tried to do everything that I could
I thought it all she understood
To give it all back that I would
Now all gone downstream like driftwood
To her I tried to still communicate
Seems to much, to little, and to late
She is now fourteen and still growing
I never expected her to be all knowing
I chased her mother away for I was not being attentive
Too little to late for I was so passive-aggressive
I love her so and never showed her
All I was showing was just my anger
I should have given her what she wanted
Hurtful words used I wish I could’ve recanted
I never realized I was hurting her so
I had no choice but to let her go
I loved her so and still do now
I will have to make my life work now somehow
I was lost and thought I was found
Now love’s buried far underground
To hold and love I have no one there

Was I just spooked?
The inner cave was vast in size
with bits of quartz that looked like eyes.
Embedded in the limestone walls.
The bits of light reflecting quartz
which made me feel uneasily
that something was observing me.
I had not been in here before
And do not think I will again.
A feeling that I can’t explain.
I must confess I was afraid
I felt a cold hostility
as though I was where I shouldn’t be
Intruding on the privacy
This made me so uncomfortable
I left as fast as I was able.
When I look back I wonder why
an empty cave should frighten me
There was nothing I could see.
My friends all stayed though I had fled
explored the pot hole thoroughly
They never tire of teasing me.
I always go with my instinct
My subconscious knows more than me
It sees things that the eye can’t see.
I gave up speleology
I much prefer the open air
Where I can see all that is there.
To exploring underground
Where really I have no right to be

Why? It seems to be the only question I can ask,
To be sure though, once free, you shall be taken to task!
What you have done should be done to no man,
Lest you seem to forget all that for which I stand!
Have you lost control of that for which made you different?
The glory of yours which to the world was prescient!
Someone I do not care to know has been leading
Your actions, making your decisions-a demon's pleading!
Release yourself, with it your guilt shall relieve,
Allow yourself a chance to truly grieve!
You have lost more than you can care to think,
All because you panicked and acted falsely- before you could blink!

The one you thought was 'sound'.
