Karma Is a Witch
So-called friends may hurt you
Acquaintances will desert you too
But they were never your friends at all
From under rocks they learned to crawl
Sad little men whishing for what you own
Little boys to men never grown
Twisted minds staying stoned
Mongrel dogs throw them a bone
Doctor Jekyll turned to Mr. Hyde
Inside your soul has dried
Mouth spewing garbage you lied
Abused then thrown to the wayside
Silly fools turns Satan’s bride
Hidden from view was a lowlife
At ease trying to live the good life
Cast away the pain and strife
But in my back you plunged the knife
Jeers came from the tin-brass jackass
Numskull frequently given a free hall pass
They are as transparent as glass
Once I thought they had class
I was wrong for they are full of hot gas
Their motives ulterior
Their spirits so inferior
They said we were “fam”
The con men ran the scam
When the chips were down
Nowhere they could be found
Given the smiles of a faceless clown
They didn’t even bother to stick around
Signed and sealed with auto-tune pitch
Melodious minstrels carved out their little niche
Scattered like roaches when the lights came on
Turned around and they were all gone
Dark hearts turned their faces white
In your defense they didn’t even put up a fight
Heads in the sand like an ostrich
Floundering in a ditch for Karma is a witch

Write you
It was a dark morning full off misty frost
I couldn't see through and I couldn't find the fire I lost
I was far too proud to shout for help
and I was too much of a coward to say how I really felt
I wanted to be friends with them all
where were they when I started to fall
you were my friend and you didn't even call
I walked into the party you stood on either side of the hall
I was in between and my back was up against the wall
I stopped being me, I stopped staying true
I started hating me when I should have been hating you
the path I walked turned out to be the wrong choice
I began hiding the pain I once had in my voice
I began speaking like you
I was you cause I didnt want to fight you
I wanted to write me I didn't want to write you.

Confrontation
Dr. Jekyll in lower case
Mr. Hyde caps.
Lost in the darkness
Silence surrounds you
Once there was morning
Now endless night
I will find the answer
I'll never desert you
I promise you this
Til the day that I...
DO YOU REALLY THINK
THAT I WOULD EVER LET YOU GO
DO YOU THINK ID EVER SET YOU FREE
IF YOU DO IM SAD TO SAY
IT SIMPLY ISN'T SO
YOU WILL NEVER GET AWAY FROM ME
all that you are is a face in the mirror
I close my eyes and you disappear
IM WHAT YOU FACE WHEN YOU FACE IN THE MIRROR
LONG AS YOU LIVE I WILL STILL BE HERE
all that you are is an end of a nightmare
all that you are is a dieing scream
after tonight I shall end this demon dream
THIS IS NOT A DREAM MY FRIEND
AND IT WILL NEVER END
THIS ONE IS THE NIGHTMARE THAT GOES ON
HYDE IS HERE TO STAY
NO MATTER WHAT YOU MAY PRETEND
AND HE'LL FLOURISH LONG AFTER YOUR GONE
soon you will die and my silence will hide you
you cannot choose and you'll lose control
YOU CANT CONTROL ME
I LIVE DEEP INSIDE YOU
EACH DAY YOU FEEL ME DEVOUR YOUR SOUL
i dont need you to survive like you need me
i become whole as you dance with Death
and I will rejoice as you breathe your final breath
FOR I LIVE INSIDE YOU FOREVER
WITH SATAN HIMSELF BY MY SIDE
AND NOW KNOW THAT NOW AND FOREVER
YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO SEPARATE
JEKYLL FROM HYDE
cant you see
its over now
its time to die
NO NOT I
ONLY YOU
if i die
you die to
YOU'LL DIE IN ME
I'LL BE YOU
damn you Hyde
set me free
CANT YOU SEE
YOU ARE ME
no deep inside
I AM YOU
YOU ARE HYDE
no never
YES FOREVER

Adventures Of Isabel
Isabel met an enormous bear,
Isabel, Isabel, didn't care;
The bear was hungry, the bear was ravenous,
The bear's big mouth was cruel and cavernous.
The bear said, Isabel, glad to meet you,
How do, Isabel, now I'll eat you!
Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry.
Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She washed her hands and she straightened her hair up,
Then Isabel quietly ate the bear up.
Once in a night as black as pitch
Isabel met a wicked old witch.
the witch's face was cross and wrinkled,
The witch's gums with teeth were sprinkled.
Ho, ho, Isabel! the old witch crowed,
I'll turn you into an ugly toad!
Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
Isabel didn't scream or scurry,
She showed no rage and she showed no rancor,
But she turned the witch into milk and drank her.
Isabel met a hideous giant,
Isabel continued self reliant.
The giant was hairy, the giant was horrid,
He had one eye in the middle of his forhead.
Good morning, Isabel, the giant said,
I'll grind your bones to make my bread.
Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She nibled the zwieback that she always fed off,
And when it was gone, she cut the giant's head off.
Isabel met a troublesome doctor,
He punched and he poked till he really shocked her.
The doctor's talk was of coughs and chills
And the doctor's satchel bulged with pills.
The doctor said unto Isabel,
Swallow this, it will make you well.
Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She took those pills from the pill concocter,
And Isabel calmly cured the doctor.

The Light at Killintringan (song)
The mouth of the harbour here quietly kissed
blue waves that waltzed from Kilkeel home to us
The springtime sun faded to "love's old sweet song"
And the light at Killintringan shone on
But your fingertips on my lips couldn't still
The secret fears of a working class kid
That you were too good was my very first thought
As the light at Killintringan came on
(chorus)
The beams from the lighthouse turned through the night
Lighting the perils hidden from sight
And we were the summer that never would fade
Our love like the doeskin bound for the blade
You turned seventeen and I turned from your heart
With Killintringan light lost in the dark
The autumn was passing, and snow would soon fall
Time didn't fix us, and it just kept on
Then, tears on your letter, we fell once again
As Killintringan light shone through the rain
The beams from the lighthouse turned through the night
Lighting the perils hidden from sight
And now looking back love, it all seems so plain
But I couldn't find a way to explain
The simplest of words wouldn't ever fly free
As Killintringan light searched o'er the sea
And down on his knees in the Queen Marg'ret Hall
underneath your photograph on the wall
A guy who still saw what he saw in your eyes
when Killintringan light scanned the night skies
The beams from the lighthouse turned through the night
Lighting the pearls there in plain sight

We Was An Accident
(3/3/12)
We was an accident - like two cars in a crash
Our lives were tossed, turned upside down, trashed
We were the remains of life s destructive path.
We no longer had value or worth
And it seemed like it was that way since birth
We was like old pieces of furniture
Used, abused, and broken in two
What more could we do.
All the people saw was the outer frame
But could not see what the inside contained
They could not see the strength and beauty
That lied within- and the outer beauty
That once had been.
Their eyes only saw what their minds perceived
It to be -and did not see the reality.
They could not see the hurt or pain
That we held so deep inside
To the point that we would cry.
Like the oceans that hide their mysteries
There is so much that you do not see.
We have treasures buried in our soul
That once it's shown - you want to hold.
We are the inner you that has longed to be free
But was chained up deep inside
Cowering in dark corners where you would hide.
Now you are free to explore the inner soul
And find that your life you can control.
Break the chains that have bound you for so long
And let your heart sing and rejoice in your new found self
For in this world there's no one else

Connect The Prophets
Outside me was a howling light
tracing a path.
Ending the struggle
of abstract thoughts.
The night was full of hidden flares.
The day was a luxury,
full of exclusiveness.
We must not cry.
The wounds turned up
like fireflies in dark.
I groped in my inner expanse to know what was not.
My fears were agitating.
Perhaps the unknown was unfolding
a sad chapter.
Time always turned back.
I joined the circle of heels.
Ultimately the crowd thins out.
The soul strips to the bone.
The void heals the grief,
and the twisted roots,
connect the prophets.

Turned The Corner
I turned a corner,
It didnt seem that was wrong,
I was just having a laugh.
But suddenly my friends are gone
And I didnt know that life would be so long.
I turned the clock
And went around the block,
Thought I was just having a laugh.
But suddenly my world was gone
And I found myself standing alone.
I thought I was fighting the ebb of life,
I thought I was cutting the web and the strife.
But I look at the mirror where there used to be a smile,
Now I see a stranger.
Ad lib.

Gun Turned On The World
Youre walkin round like a doll without a head
You should be thinking bout how to give your love instead
Ive seen you lying and cheating your way
Then you complain about what all of your friends say
You shoot your mouth like you damn well own the world
We always have to keep our little white flags unfurled
Just try to finish the things that you start
Stop thinking with your fists
And start thinking with your heart
Oh cant you see
Oh what you could be now
You never listen to me
Oh youre like a gun turned on the world
Things have to be attempted one step at a time
You got to take that poison from your eyes
You know the lights are going out in your life
Your killing yourself with your own knife
Oh cant you see
Oh what you could be now
You never listen to me
Oh youre like a gun turned on the world
You dont want a love you need a chaperone
You want a first-class alibi
You bore the pants off people on the telephone
People are sick of your lies
You better open your eyes
Youre like a gun turned on the world, like a gun
Youre takin one step forward then two steps back
Friendly advice gets treated like a heart attack
You can drown in the shallow water of hate
Get the sense before its too late now
Oh cant you see
Oh what you could be now
You never listen to me
Oh youre like a gun turned on the world
Oh cant you see
Oh what you could be now
You never listen to me
Oh youre like a gun turned on the world

The Creation of the Moon
The man cut his throat and left his head there.
The others went to get it.
When they got there they put the head in a sack.
Farther on the head fell out onto the ground.
They put the head back in the sack.
Farther on the head fell out again.
Around the first sack they put a second one that
was thicker.
But the head fell out just the same.
It should be explained that they were taking the head
to show to the others.
They did not put the head back in the sack.
They left it in the middle of the road.
They went away.
They crossed the river.
But the head followed them.
They climbed up a tree full of fruit
to see whether it would go past.
The head stopped at the foot of the tree
and asked them for some fruit.
So the men shook the tree.
The head went to get the fruit.
Then it asked for some more.
So the men shook the tree
so that the fruit fell into the water.
The head said it couldn't get the fruit from there.
So the men threw the fruit a long way
to make the head go a long way to get it so they could go.
While the head was getting the fruit
the men got down from the tree and went on.
The head came back and looked at the tree
and didn't see anybody
so went on rolling down the road.
The men had stopped to wait
to see whether the head would follow them.
They saw the head come rolling.
They ran.
They got to their hut they told the others that the head
was rolling after them and to shut the door.
All the huts were closed tight.
When it got there the head commanded them to open the doors.
The owners would not open them because they were afraid.
So the head started to think what it would turn into.
If it turned into water they would drink it.
If it turned into earth they would walk on it.
If it turned into a house they would live in it.
If it turned into a steer they would kill it and eat it.
If it turned into a cow they would milk it.
If it turned into a bean they would cook it.
If it turned into the sun
When men were cold it would heat them.
If it turned into rain the grass would grow and the
animals would crop it.
So it thought, and it said, "I will turn into the moon."
It called, "Open the doors, I want to get my things."
They would not open them.
The head cried. It called out, "At least give me
my two balls of twine."
They threw out the two balls of twine through a hole.
It took them and threw them into the sky.
It asked them to throw it a little stick too
to roll the thread around so it could climb up.
Then it said, "I can climb, I am going to the sky."
It started to climb.
The men opened the doors right away.
The head went on climbing.
The men shouted, "You going to the sky, head?"
It didn't answer.
As soon as it got to the Sun
it turned into the Moon.
Toward evening the Moon was white, it was beautiful.
And the men were surprised
to see that the head had turned into the Moon.
Court System Problem Oct 22nd 2012
Court-ordered publication bans for no apparent reason,
Is it another Youth Criminal Justice Act silly season?
Have they hidden a name or allowed a repeat offender to walk?
If the public knew, would they show their disapproval and squawk?
Or have we gone politically correct and over to their side?
Or has justice gone like Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde?
Or is this just another secret name that the system will keep?
Could we, as a nation, have turned into a flock of sheep?
This is supposed to be a democracy - not a secret shop,
Where too frequent publication bans seem to be nonstop,
Every word spoken in court should known in the community,
Otherwise certain criminals and their friends may have immunity.

Life Like Blown Empty Bellies
Life turned blown-empty
Like poverty-plagued bellies
When true, free will vanished
Into louder cries of hurt sanctity
It became a deformed goat
Limping in auburn flesh
Horns useless
He may fight no restraints
As to sauntering the length and lengths
Stretching the physical beyond
But in the unfaltering limp- up, down, up
His drive falters
And is weighed down by despondence in fatigue
O! Life sagged like dried sunburnt banana leaves
When our Moses cleaved Herod's throne
And one fine Isrealite tint
Waded through the Nile's blood
When good turned bad
Bad turned worse
Worse turned worst
And now, worst turns good
Truth has of long been locked behind lies
Wedged to every plate of
Harbingers of inhumanity
Plunking rotten meats
Beneath our plates, around our cups
Like ashen slaves on the Atlantic
Our biceps grow, minds flow, flow away
Like fondled harmattan dust
Will and purpose from our heads have
Been stricken
Truth and 'loved love' trounced
By pestles of insanity
And confused sense
Hallowed in gloom of deception
When true, free will vanished
Like poverty-plagued bellies
Life turned blown-empty

I Dont Want To Throw Rice
She married the one I love today
When my back was turned she took him away
Now while theyre all outside, waiting to throw rice
What I want to throw will surely black her eyes
cause I dont want to throw rice
I want to throw rocks at her
She took the only love I had
No, I dont want to throw rice
I want to throw rocks at her
It would be a way to hurt her cause she hurt me so bad
Well I never stole nothin in my life
But if I get the chance Ill steal him from his wife
cause all is fair in love and war, maybe Im carryin this too far
But I feel like tying dynamite to her side of the car
No I dont want to throw rice
I want to throw rocks at her
She took the only love I had
No, I dont want to throw rice
I want to throw rocks at her
It would be a way to hurt her cause she hurt me so bad

Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours
Like a fool I went and stayed too long
Now I'm wondering if your love's still strong
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours
Then that time I went and said goodbye
Now I'm back and not ashamed to cry
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours
Here I am baby
Oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)
Here I am baby,
Oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours)
I've done alot of foolish things
That I really didn't mean
Hey, hey, yea, yea, didn't i, oh baby
Seen alot of things in this old world
When I touched them they did nothing, girl
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours, oh I'm yours
Oo-wee babe you set my soul on fire
That's why I know you are my only desire
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours
Here I am baby
Oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)
Here I am baby,
Oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours)
I've done alot of foolish things
That I really didn't mean
I could be a broken man but here I am
With your future, got your future babe (here I am baby)
Here I am baby (signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)
Here I am baby, (here I am baby)
Here I am baby (signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)
Here I am baby, (here I am baby)
Here I am baby (signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)

No One Gets The Prize
(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
No one, no one gets the prize
No one, no one
No one gets the prize
We were best of friends
It all began
He came in to town and changed the plan
I knew she felt, the same as me
Which one of us would it be
Just in fun, fight begun
Before long a web of hate was spun
She pretended same as me
Oh, but friends again wed never be
No one, no one gets the prize
She told him lies, and I told him lies
No one, no one gets the prize
She schemed and dreamed and told him dirt
That I was wrong for him
I told him all the boys shed hurt and I would number them
He was the ray of light that made our hearts live
But either one of us knew really how to give
So we scandalized and criticized
And then we learned how to despise
No one, no one gets the prize
She told him lies and I lied, I lied yeah
No one, no one gets the prize
No, no, no
Yeah, yeah
Back off
Tried to steal him, tried to steal him
Tried to steal him
Runnin behind my back
Tried to steal him
Tried to show him where it was at
Watch it now
No, no I wont take second place
No, no tell him to his face
We were friends for so, so, so long
Messed around, now hes gone gone gone gone
No one, no one gets the prize
No, no
No one, no one gets the prize
I wasnt alive, a love thats satisfied
No one, no one gets the prize
It wasnt fair, the love I couldnt share
No one, no one gets the prize
No, no
No one, no one gets the prize
No one, no one gets the prize
She lied, I lied, we lied
No one, no one

I Found Myself
(5/28/12)
I found myself all alone and not one heart had I ever known
For my heart had turned to stone.
I thought that everything in life I would achieve if
I depended solely on me.
That I would need no family or friends
Because I'd reach my goal in the end.
My thought was that when you depend on someone else
They would always hinder you, to a point you wouldn't
Know just what to do.
I did not want love to kick me in the tail
And then with my goals I would fail.
I did not want these so called friends
Who would turn their backs in the end.
I used every excuse that I could find
Till my heart had become cold and blind.
Then I met a woman who was the same as me
Ruthless, uncaring and cold, she was twenty five
Years of age, and on her -life turned the page.
I looked at her and what I saw -was a mirror of me
Because I closed all doors.
I was really turning my back on all of life
And all that life could give
by closing up my heart and not learning to live.
I found my self questioning all my decisions
That I had made, and if people hated me
Then I was to blame.
I knew right then that I would have to change my ways
And the way that I did think, and still get everything.
I asked forgiveness from family and friends
And if they would support me once again.
They all smiled and gave me a hug and a kiss
Which was something that I had missed
Now I found myself with a new outlook on life
And things are now twice as nice.
SMILE! Things could be so much worse.

You Turned To Me
You turned to me
And all at once
I knew I was betrayed
My eyes met yours just down the darkened path
Where both of us had strayed
Nothing good can come out of this
I know it may not be
But just then you turned to me
And I thought for a moment
Like the fool that I've become
I might be the one
To turn these lights back on
Just as I began to say
It's never worth the price you pay
I was going there anyway
You turned to me
And all at once
I knew that you had seen
How I was lost in something quite like love
When all I did was dream
Now as evening becomes the dawn
I wonder where you'll be
And just why you turned to me

My Son
You were once a live wire and full of beans,
with burning desires and endless dreams.
But you always wanted that little bit more
and a soldiers life appealed for sure.
Opportunities to see the world and have a career
was enough to tempt any young pioneer.
You soon made friends and settled in
and enjoyed the life of soldiering.
You did your tours and won a stripe,
but the killing part you didn’t like.
Seeing women and children covered in blood,
and comrades dying did you no good.
When you returned from Afghanistan
you came back a different man.
You tossed and turned in your sleep,
and shouted to God, your soul to keep.
You said you carried the smell of death
inside your nose and upon your breath,
and that you could never go back again,
and face the horrors that caused you pain.
But you did return to those theatres of death,
but not as the boy I knew when you first left.
The realities of war had scared your soul
and your spirit of life was the heavy toll.

A Reunion
Often a man's life is such
that he seldom sees his friends,
like the night and day
never sharing the same hours
In the skies
Seldom does he share
His evenings with friends
Or his mornings
His lamp light unshared
His mornings unspent
How long will this
Distance last?
Hairs have turned
White and lesser
As we inquire about
Friends and other
Acquaintances only
To find out that half of
Them have turned
To ghosts,
Shocks and torments
Of this heart, cries
But I will try again
To enter your home
Twenty five years
And now you have
Two sons and three
Daughters to greet
Me by the door
I thought you never
Married and they all
Kiss my hands and
Before I can ask the
Questions you drive
Them off to the grounds
To play away from us
As we talk about
Lasting friendships
And how we have
Almost forgotten them
Tomorrow I will be drunk
Again back to my own
Affairs in the big city
We will be separated
Again by these peaks
Of mountains and we
Shall again lose each
Other’s friendly views.

A Horse With No Name
On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound
Ive been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
cause there aint no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...
After two days in the desert sun
My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead
You see Ive been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
cause there aint no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...
After nine days I let the horse run free
cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with its life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love
You see Ive been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
cause there aint no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...
