Day Of The Dread
Day Of The Dread
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Sunday, March 4,2012, @ 12: 20 PM
Rose red yet no one speaks for the dead
The blind was foolishly led
No place to lay my weary head
No one listens to the words I've said
Empty is my lonesome bed
Hanging on by a thread
Happiness hopelessly fled
By bliss I was misled
All the books I never read
So many words left unsaid
I thought I was happily wed
Precautions I should have taken instead
The heart hungers unfed
Broken it hides in the shed
Buttered both sides was my bread
The spirit bashed against the bulkhead
Lifeless it rests on the seabed
Nothing it has left to look for ahead
Unfastened fitted bedspread
For lines I never proofread
Sweet words listened by the dread
Arms were always outspread
Forgiveness I once pled
Gold has turned to poisoned lead
Rivers run red
Letters immediately I shred
Shorten are the wings I spread
Sour now is the sweetbread
Descending on a paper sled
Burdens get over fed
Prepared woefully to unwed
Needles now unthread
Ascending struggles the moped
Blues turn a bloody red
Words often misread
Never should I have let you into my head

Words on this paper
Words in my head
Words while I'm texting
Computing
Unsaid
Words between people
Words on the phone
Words upon words
Even when I'm alone
Words from the Bible
I question
Don't mesh
Words from pornography
Making them flesh
Words with flat letters
Written in black
Good words and bad words
You cannot take back
Words that are shallow
Words that are deep
When they're too many
They put me to sleep
Words that I'm writing
And rhyming you read
Whatever I'm saying
There's prolly no need
Words from the alphabet
Words that can't be
When you are blind
And it's Braile that you see
Words that are worthless
And said on the fly
My words or your words
Are most likely lies
Words in a sentence
Wise words or fair
The only words earnest
Are those said in prayer

Writing Frustrations I've Known
-It would seem, I've run out of words.
Nothing left to say.
I have lost my inner voice.
It's gone, completely astray.
Perhaps I should lay down pen and pad.
Never more write a rhyme.
On this poetry that I love
I shall spend no further time.
... not that I was ever truly a poet anyway
... it's just that, well, I did love it so;
... still, it feels the well is dry
... time to just let it go.
- So now, what of me shall be
Feeling empty in heart and head?
What purpose-without a word-shall be heard
With no way to express both hope and dread?
Where have the words gone
Must they ever stay away?
Who has taken my spirit's song
Why has the music of my soul nothing more to say?
... I try... seems of no use...
My mind torn asunder, literary abuse.
(this next part wrote a couple months later)
Listen, what do I hear?
Something is knocking at my gate!
A few months later now
But, not altogether too late.
A lonesome thought comes strolling in
From whence I cannot declare,
Just that it has arrived
With this simple message to share:
' What's a dime
To a lover of verse and rhyme,
And what's to fear
Of criticism drawing near?
For to write only for income
Would soon turn quite burdensome,
As surely as to not write for fear of ridicule
Would be to deny the voice within you.
The words may never turn a single head
But, don't dare believe they'll ever be dead!
God gives meaning to what he wants
Whether anyone else listens or not.
The way it is all spoke
By darling bards, or simple country folk,
Is well worth hearing
And so oft more than a bit endearing.
Don't worry about the rhyme
The perfect place or time,
Just give your soul in words as best you can
And those who should, will understand.
Those who don't
Just won't,
And that's o.k.
God speaks to them in other ways.
Trust his Spirit in all you do
Yes, this includes writing too,
Remember he promised he'd never leave you alone
Even in the simple words of your poems. '
-Pondering it over
I suppose this I've known all along,
Though thoughts may wander
True words are never gone.
Well, ya know what:
I believe I just might pick up paper and pen,
Good or bad, right or wrong...
Give it a go, once again!

The sentence of love...
Many thoughts live inside my head,
Yet quite often they go unsaid.
So many thoughts that were not spoken,
Were they merely just a token? ...
Were the thoughts that meant the most,
The ones I never got round to post?
Have I missed the chance to save us all?
I think the chances must be small...
For if those thoughts meant so much,
We should find a way to stay in touch.
Thought understands feelings in a way,
That mere words could never convey...
And just because these words go unsaid,
Does not mean to life that they are dead.
For special words have meaning so true,
The words I'm thinking of are 'I love you...'
So although the words I don't often say,
May not be heard each and every day.
When the sentence of love my head does start,
You shall live forever in my heart...
Spread the love... The peace will follow...

The First Poem
The first poem I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
The words I love you
written by this beauty's tongue
turned a heart rosy red from a somber blue
and made me burn for my heart was wrung.
The first poem I ever read
is the first poem I ever said.
On her poetic lips love words refined
and shaped a sonnet on her flesh defined
On those lips I read a poet's song
And knew it was there my lips belonged.
The first poem I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
I love you, I love you
What does it mean?
These words said, to start anew
something pure and something serene.
The first words I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
Those first words she whispered into my ear
And in my heart, her poem stood near
Those are the most beautiful words one ever said
I love you, I love you, will live till its dead.
The first poem I ever read
is the first words I ever said.
I read her lips, I love you, I love you..
now to sleep I go in love's sweet bed.

No More Sad Goodbyes
More Sad Goodbyes
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Saturday, February 18,2012
Go ahead and leave if you want to
You'll never find another as true
No one that will worships you like I do
In this life I would have comforted you
Another love you may fine but not like mine
You will regret one day the love you left behind
Gave you all that I could give
I suffered so you could live
I held you up so high
You gave me wings that I could fly
For you anything I would've tried
For you my love I would died
Our life has been a complete satire
A meager donkey in elegant attire
I thought that I was all you required
But that is not the way things transpired
Abused by explicit grammar
Chilled words beats like the drummer
You were my delicate flower
A fish out of water I now Flounder
I close my eyes and still see you there
I can't believe you no longer care
Sometimes it's just my luck
For loneliness, with you I am stuck

Cherished letters [Scrisori iubite]
Old letters, which to me were dear,
Today, when sun is shining bright,
I bow my head trying to hear
Your silent words that bring delight.
I used to be immersed in bliss,
Today, I have a weary brow,
I wonder, though, where is she now?
What has become of that sweet miss?
We loved each other with all might,
But now I have before my eyes
Only a pile of bloody lies
Tied with a thread to keep them tight...

She Is Always
She Is Always
Written by: Wilfred Charles Mellers, Monday, October 22,2012
She is as fragile as a petal
She is more precious than any metal
She is more beautiful than a rose
She is the love that everyone knows
She is joy and laughter
She is hope ever after
She is the rejuvenating rain
She is more than words can explain
She is my flower
She is the Princess in the tower
She is the calm that stills sadness
She is pure happiness
She is my sunshine
She is smarter than Albert Einstein
She is mine and I am hers
She is the answer to my prayers
She is a dream and I the dreamer
She is sugar but so much sweeter
She is the light and I the fire
She is the love that I could never tire

Words.... (Poetry Itself)
words do not heal the broken hearted,
words do not end wars.
words do not change the face of indifference,
words do not impress god!
words do not feed the hungry,
nor set the captives free.
words do not give shelter to the homeless,
or hope to those ridden with despair.
words do not stop discrimination,
words do not bring justice.
words do not bring forgiveness,
nor do they bring understanding...
words do not fill the empty,
nor erase the scars of love...
words do not define dialogue!
it is only then,
the hands and feet of the human heart...
and poetry itself is nothing more,
than the action of involved compassion!

Broken Fences
Broken Fences
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Monday, November 2,2009, @ 12: 50 PM
A rose to you I now shall send
Gone are the days with my best friend
Empty pockets willing no longer to lend
Wasting time I now alone spend
If only time I could suspend
You back in my arms I’d pretend
With you I’d exhaust every weekend
Affectionate letters now I’d resend
To cherish you more I’d intend
Into the darkest of caverns I would descend
Captive wires I would unbend
On summits high I would ascend
Your every need I would contend
Lavish parties we would attend
On you all I would spend
For you are truly a godsend
Preoccupied I was with having a girlfriend
On you I relied and came to depend
On this truly you I commend
Released from the nest birds must fend
This voyage now I append
Left to my own qualms I must now tend
A tree in the wind must learn how to bend
Words spoken never meant to offend
An Oak leaf I now extend
All reservations I now suspend
You my love was the perfect blend
For actions taken now I emend
Insecurities seems to be the trend
Is this what you truly want to defend?
Can fondness time truly transcend?
Broken fences need to now mend

Rubbish Tip
At the rubbish tip they place their words
Just on the edge of
Surreal and absurd
A gold leafed edge
A lettered page
At teh rubbish tip
They stage
Their acts in
'THREE PARTS SCENE ONE'
Then you arrive
By stage door three
With a broken heart
All at sea
With the rythmn
Of the words
They left you to say
Can't see the wood for the trees today
At the rubbish dump
The hungry sit
Wide eyed
Death in their mouths
Waiting to eat
The bread of the words
The crumbs from a table
Of rotten verse
Yet still they come the blind and the dumb
Sit up and write
Recite it all night
Without a pause
Or space for 'applause'
READ THE PAPER!
It makes more sense to believe in
The tablod lies
Than live in a world of man made pretense
Take your tongue from your cheek
The fibre glass from your eye
BETTER NOT TO SAY A THING
DON'T TIP THE WORDS FROM YOUR MOUTH
TO THE PAGE...VOMIT BREACHED
just stay silent
Let the rain fall one more time
It's a sign of the times sell fast stories
Falling of dirty ink presses
distresses on paper
OUR DAILY BREAD SPOON FED!
ANGUS HAM STRINGS

Words on paper
Words on paper
~
Just words on paper
Where a story is told
An emotion revealed
Or a love laid to rest
Where a dream begins
An ambition is spoken
Perhaps a whim of fancy
Takes charge of the pen
To write what is written
Letters forming words
Shapley and beautiful
Expressions of a soul
Or a mind at play
There across the page
Words on paper
Written to have their say

Dancing The Mambo
Dancing The Mambo
Written by: Wilfred Charles Mellers, Wednesday, December 14,2011 @ 00: 24
Do you miss my kiss on your lips?
When you lie down at night and turn off the lights
Are your arms still empty when I use to give you plenty?
Do you lay awake and from the cold shake?
Do you miss my sent and wonder where the passion went?
Long horns come and go but they don’t know
What sweets you can also sour you too
The sky’s not always blue and words aren’t often always true
It’s about give and take for we all make mistakes
Reap the bitter fruit right down to the its root
Back to the premise at hand for this was not my plan
To fall in and out is foolish no doubt
Sacrifices made and a solemn price paid
Felt the blade once where I laid
Passed by the parade from the drums I plaid
Left alone waiting for you to come home
Staring out the window as grass green turns yellow
Feeling like a psycho for the lion turned to the scarecrow
Songs came no more from the swallow for halls now hollow
No longer the mellow fellow that always greats hello
Broken was my halo and silence came from the sparrow
Life was on furlough and I back to the ghetto
This I knew yet I still grew
No longer a shadow feeling so–so
Flying no more solo for I walk to a new tempo
Seasons come and seasons go maestro
Cover not my head with a pillow feeling sorrow
My disco has now turned to a tango
A planet no longer Pluto for Dorothy has found Toto
The zero is now a hero dancing the mambo

The Elaborate Hoax
The Elaborate Hoax
Written by Wilfred Mellers, Saturday, February 12,2011, @ 12: 05 PM
What if everything you were told was a lie
Would you just lie down and die?
Would you cease to try?
Would you even question why?
Would faith still render all your decisions?
Would there still be religious divisions?
What if trusted beliefs were just works of fiction
Sacred words were an elaborate misconception
Fables taken from other stories
Would you still sing of morning glories?
Would societies morals decay?
Would Sunday be another Monday?
What if there was proof that you are wrong?
Would you refuse and still go along?
What the fool truly believes
Concepts bold he cannot conceive
The deceived follows the blind
Far too scared to be left behind
The hoax convoluted by designed
A contract written but never signed
Words your life was defined
Does this blow your diminutive mind?
Instituted mind control
Paid in full sitting on a bankroll
There is nothing here meant to be funny
It is truly all about money
So easy one can be jaded
Pacify the sheep and for they are easily persuaded
If there is no heaven then how can there be a hell
More fallacies and tales to tell
Foul play uncovered by the sleuth
People don’t want to know the truth
Answer when you are called and do as you were told
Meanwhile the theocracy empties your billfold
Wisdom and knowledge are on parole
Watch the fabrications run up the flagpole
You say I am lacking in faith
Consumed by an unholy wraith
Only the hoodwinked closes their eyes
You can go on and believe all those lies
Stories written ages ago
Just because you wrote it doesn’t make it so
Let the dead bury the dead
In the sand you have already burred your head

Working on the value of words
Working on the value of words
~
some words require more
more than being spoken
written, read or listened to
some words need feeling
given their own soul
a touch of emotion
some words fall easily
across the page
or off the tongue
like a catchphrase
meaning almost nothing
words without value
spoken to be heard
said and not listened to
or written and missed
all without feeling
give words emotion
soul, fire and life
give words value
work the next line

Few Words
Few words
Can cause
Wonder or a disaster
Can make sound
More than a bomb
Resulting into breakdown
Of the heart and mind
Few words
Can turn a sad face
Into a one with a big smile
Few words
Can be heavier than the
Biggest of hammers
Can break intimate
Relationship
Turn it into enmity
Few words can be sharper
Than a knife
Can cut the thread of trust
Into thousand pieces
Few words can be
Very soothing
Can heal wound faster
Than any medicine
Few words of sympathy
Can give solace to
Someone in agony
Few words of apology
Can resolve the biggest
Differences
Few words of
Encouragement
Can motivate someone
To the road of victory
Few words of love
Can bring
Two unknown souls
Together

Sad Goodbyes
Sad Goodbyes
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Saturday, March 3,2012 @ 5: 26 PM
Once I had it all and stood a thousand feet tall
I had a house that was our home
Life was good like it should
A car in the driveway that took me my way
Hotter than July, I don't know why
Mortified and left with egg on my face
Happiness vanished without a trace
Quite the fact for I was left with only the cloths on my back
Such a distance to dropp from the top
How long can it last for such time has past?
Never I understood the scope for I was a dope
So I cope without giving up hope
Seasons come and they go
Winter birds flies solo
Past memories still echoes
Neighbors still say their hellos
Whispering still the willows
Sadness leaks in the shadows
From the hip throw in Judo
The drummer beats a syncopated tempo
The green trees has turned yellow
Frost still covers a hollow window
On occasions winter snows
Greener grass no longer grows
Laryngitis befell the sparrow
Still the heart filled with sorrow
Such a big pill to swallow
Spring now soon falls on a dejected meadow
The artist paints a picture perfect photo
No longer call a planet is Pluto
But there is one thing I still know
For you my heart will still glow
Does anyone have a heart I can borrow?
Mine is now hollow
My suburb has turned to a crime-ridden ghetto
Tarnished is my halo
My heart beats no more
Eaten its been by a condor
Lost I have my mentor
Now I've closed the door
These words I scribe now so you know
In my sincerest of heart I loved you so
Now I let you go and wish you the best
For the time I spent with you I was truly blessed
These words I now pen
I cannot and will ever go through this again
The pain is just too much to bear the tears
Someone I've loved about me no longer cares

Words
How often do words get in the way,
And not express things we want to say?
Once spoken, words can't be reclaimed
So be careful where they're aimed.
Words can be fired like a gun;
Their poor aim can wound anyone.
Words can seed love as well as kill it.
They can drain a heart empty… or fill it.
All too often words are said
With no thought of their impact ahead.

Liberty Sought For All
Words keep filling my brain.
I rarely write them down.
Because as soon as I empty my head.
Words start filling my brain again.
I can never empty my head.
For there remains too much unsaid.
Poignant thoughts, enlightened ideas, ideals.
Waiting for a poet to bring them to heal.
Words. Words. Words. Words. Words.
Whirling Whirling Whirling Whirling Words.
Waiting for a chosen moment, of precise creativity.
Waiting for a special moment, of ordained existence.
Waiting to transform
a corrupt materialistic world.
Waiting to put compassion
back into heartless hearts.
Waiting to restore love
vitality freedom and nobility.
Waiting to herald a new age
of heaven sent realized liberty.

Bloody Paper Dolls
They bleed an ink of green blood
Cut them out
Faces of drawn misfortune
Bodies of frail dresses
Minds of empty blue lines
Given names of whores from distorted streets
Megan molly Shannon mind so weak
Created world of plagiarized lives
These bloody paper dolls have no eyes
They see not the tears upon her face
They bleed words onto the page
Green ink dripping
Soft words describing a life
Take there heads the lose all purpose
Fixed scissors this time ill make a man
Green ink bleeds from the cut up words
And the body it forms
These dolls aren’t real they are a shaken reality
Let her be she has dreams
And I cut the words from this page
I lost my age
I’m old... and still
I have bloody paper dolls all around
They rule my life
They are my reality
My friends
These words now just letters
Green ink stains my finger tips
My bloody dolls you are it.

Words
The words just flee from my head,
to the paper in front of me.
They tell of love and sorrows be.
They also tell of other things.
Of happiness abound,
of little creatures.
In the air and on the ground.
Of seasons one to four.
Of cold hearts and warm love.
Of arms reaching out,
for a safe haven,
or shelter from a storm.
The words they tell of many things,
between the lines written.
Only a keen eye,
will find what lies there hidden.
