Walt Whitman

When I Heard the Learned Astronomer

When I heard the learn'd astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide,
and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with
much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars.

Silence Must Be Heard

(m.cretu.)
.
Look into the others eyes, many frustrations
Read between the lines, no words just vibrations
Dont ignore hidden desires
Pay attention, youre playing with fire
Silence must be heard, noise should be observed
The time has come to learn, that silence ...
Silence must be heard
Or diamonds will burn, friendly cards will turn
Cause silence has the right to be heard
People talk too much for what they have to say
Words without a meaning, just fading away
Silence must be heard, noise should be observed
The time has come to learn, that silence ...
Silence must be heard
Or diamonds will burn, friendly cards will turn
Cause silence has the right to be heard

Sick And Tired

Im sick of pretending its all perfect
Tired of living a lie
Sick of loving you
Tired of the tears I cry

Im sick of giving you my love
Tired of getting nothing in return
Sick of all your other girls
Tired of being unable to learn

Im sick of running back to you
Tired of returning hurt
Sick of been laughed about
Tired of being treated like dirt

Im sick of living this life
Tired of being blue
Sick of thoughts about giving up
Tired of the stupid things I do

Im so sick of it all
So sick Im going do it
So tired of been stuck in the middle
So tired Im going to quit

Rising Sun Blues

When I heard 'Rising Sun Blues'
for the very first time
I was twelve years old.
When I first heard
its mystical sounds
it was like a bomb blown up
somewhere
in the deep of my soul
and broke my heart to the tiniest pieces.
When I first heard
'The House of the Rising Sun'
I couldn't help crying
and wept so bitterly with all my heart.
And I didn't realize the reason of my tears.
And then
I picked up my dad's old guitar
and sang this song to feel it
again and again.
It was my first love that I
first sang with my guitar.
I have come with it through all my life.
And there were so many songs in it!
But none of them
could even compare with her.
And I will remain faithful to her
till the very end as only a man
can be faithful
to the very first kiss and the very first love
which is so similar
to the genuine rising sun
that never sets down.

Sick And Tired

Got no time to be on the run,
Got no holes in my shoes,
You're the reasong all my friends have gone,
But I won't run from you.
So many promises, and you broke them all,
Oh I'll forgive, but I can't forget,
You know you're a fake, but I just can't take no more,
Cause I'm tired of it.
I'm so tired, so tired,
Sick and tired of it all,
I'm so tired, sick and tired,
I'm so tired, sick and tired of it all, yeah.
You turn the truth, then you turn your back,
You're a victim of yourself,
The hate remains, the hurting still exists.
I'm so tired of it all.
I'm so tired, sick and tired,
So damn tired, sick and tired of it all, oh yeah,
I'm so tired, I'M sick and tired of it all

Whispers In The Dark

I was relaxing in my unlit sitting room
when I heard an unusual sound.
I questioned my sense of hearing because
I knew no one else was around.

It stopped so I returned to my thoughts,
then I heard it once more.
This time it sounded like whispering,
but I wasn't entirely sure.

I sat up and strained to listen,
but again nothing was there.
Sitting back I dismissed it as wind
playing tricks in the air.

Moments later it happened again,
so I jumped up and turned on the light,
After looking closely around the room,
everything seemed to be alright.

I turned off the light and sat down again,
and blamed my active imagination.
With the silence, peace of mind returned,
so did the cause of my consternation.

Time XXI

And an astronomer said, "Master, what of Time?"

And he answered:

You would measure time the measureless and the immeasurable.

You would adjust your conduct and even direct the course of your spirit according to hours and seasons.

Of time you would make a stream upon whose bank you would sit and watch its flowing.

Yet the timeless in you is aware of life's timelessness,

And knows that yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream.

And that that which sings and contemplates in you is still dwelling within the bounds of that first moment which scattered the stars into space.

Who among you does not feel that his power to love is boundless?

And yet who does not feel that very love, though boundless, encompassed within the centre of his being, and moving not form love thought to love thought, nor from love deeds to other love deeds?

And is not time even as love is, undivided and paceless?

But if in you thought you must measure time into seasons, let each season encircle all the other seasons,

And let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing.

None Of Us Had to Travel That Far At All

A young Jesuit priest...
Assigned as an astronomer,
At the Vatican.
Has now declared the possibility
Of extraterrestial life
And he...
As he recommends that we,
Should accept them as our brothers!

That declaration is remarkable.
Considering...
We have people living on this planet,
Who are not so hospitably embraced.
And the Vatican's chief astronomer...
Now says it is okay to believe,
Other life forms in the Universe exists!
And 'this' does not contradict one's faith in God!

Even though none of us had to travel that far at all...
To witness contradictions right here on Earth,
Of God's teachings...
We still can not apply,
Beyond enforced hypocrisies.

'Isn't that a 'Roman' Catholic church? '

Please...
Do not get me started!

I said, This Misery Must End

I SAID, This misery must end:
Shall I, that am a man and know
that sky and wind are yet my friend,
sit huddled under any blow?
so speaking left the dismal room
and stept into the mother-night
all fill’d with sacred quickening gloom
where the few stars burn’d low and bright,
and darkling on my darkling hill
heard thro’ the beaches’ sullen boom
heroic note of living will
rung trumpet-clear against the fight;
so stood and heard, and rais’d my eyes
erect, that they might drink of space,
and took the night upon my face,
till time and trouble fell away
and all my soul sprang up to feel
as one among the stars that reel
in rhyme on their rejoicing way,
breaking the elder dark, nor stay
but speed beyond each trammelling gyre,
till time and sorrow fall away
and night be wither’d up, and fire
consume the sickness of desire.

Sick and Tired

Im sick and tired of the lies you told me.
Sick and tired of what you want me to be.
Sick and tired of the way we live.
Sick and tired Im in such a dread.
Sick and tired I want to go to sleep.
Yea so sick and tired it makes me weak.
Sick and tired dont wanna be me.
Sick and tired of no harmony.

Day aftrer day you just come out and say...
'Tomorrow will be a better day'
Well Im sick and tired of that over used phrase.
So sick and tired of the way you dont change.
Sick and tired I wanna go home.
Oh so sick and tired dont know where I belong.
Sick and tired of not getting along.
So sick and tired, thats it, Im gone.

No Time

Saw the folks down below crying
Heard them on the radio lying
Distant bells in the air
Ringing out do they hear?
Do they know its growing very near?
Everybody sitting here
They dont realize
Theyve got no time
Saw the transmitter sway slowly
Saw it crash in the lane coldly
Saw the seas rushing in
To the coast now theyve seen
Now they know its growing very near
Everybody sitting here
They dont realize
Theyve got no time
Saw them gather in slow motion
Setting sail on the tired ocean
Heard the clouds rolling by
Shouting down from the sky
Hear them speak their last goodbye
Everybody sitting here
They dont realize
Theyve got no time
No time

Lets Try It Again

Ive heard of true loves that lasted forever, I guess there is a way,
And Ive heard of true loves that needed each other more and more each day.
What is love when theres no one that cares?
Next time you need my love Ill be there, be right by your side.
Lets try it again, try it again, lets try it again,
My love for you, it has no end.
Lets try it again, till the end, all because I love you.
Ive heard of two loves that stayed with each other,
Didnt wander through the night,
And Ive heard of two loves that prayed for each other,
Didnt argue, fuss or fight.
Now I know just what loves all about.
Next time you need my love I wont doubt, doubt your love again.
Lets try.... (repeat & fade)

The Cosinic Curve

Callithumpus Kevin Kerr was a young astronomer,
Rich and handsome, eligible, sound and single,
Somewhat absent as to mind, and peculiarly inclined
To allow his love quest and his work to mingle.
'Jupiter,' said he, 'and Mars, all fixed and unfixed stars
And their orbits mid the circular have tarried;
There is nothing straight nor square in the heavens anywhere
Which reminds me, I should think of getting married.'

Clementina Mumphin-Moore was a modern girl who wore
Slinky frocks, and her slimming concentrated.
Thus, her health was far from good; but Matilda Mabel Wood
Was circular in shape - cats said 'inflated.'
Both these girls, the thick and thin, were most interested in
Callithumpus Kevin Kerr, who so auterely
Walked with face turned to the sky; each one rolled a roguish eye
'With view above,' for each one loved him dearly.

Callithumpus Kerr one day went a-mumbling on his way,
And both maids watched him as he conned his table:
'Jupiter, the Moon and Mars, all the fixed and unfixed stars
Are circular in shape - why, hello, Mabel!'
Clementina, oh, so slim, was invisible to him.
But he gazed at Mabel as he thought of Saturn.
Then he said, quite suddenly, 'Mabel! Will you marry me?
For an astronomer you're just the pattern.'

Thro' a crevice in the floor Clementina Mumphin-Moore
Slipped; and no one ever heard of her thereafter.
Mabel wed her clever Kerr, and their home, so friends aver,
Is a place of curves and meals and happy laughter.
Girls! Be warned in time; because certain universal laws
Rule creation, and you may not monkey with 'em.
Mold yourselves upon old mars and the fixed and unfixed stars,
For slim and slinky girls 'ain't got no rhythm.'

The Night Landscape

Who knows if a tree
sitting cross-legged in the middle of the night?
Glowing translucent his tears in the shimmering
of the moon and stars
There was a silence called forgotten
together with the time
Sitting with him looked at
losing as much as the memories
The night had countless
Trees with strong roots
walking from time after time
Let the rain keep it!

Stars and the Soul

To Charles A. Young, Astronomer

"Two things," the wise man said, "fill me with awe:
The starry heavens and the moral law."
Nay, add another wonder to thy roll, --
The living marvel of the human soul!

Born in the dust and cradled in the dark,
It feels the fire of an immortal spark,
And learns to read, with patient, searching eyes,
The splendid secret of the unconscious skies.

For God thought Light before He spoke the word;
The darkness understood not, though it heard:
But man looks up to where the planets swim,
And thinks God's thoughts of glory after Him.

What knows the star that guides the sailor's way,
Or lights the lover's bower with liquid ray,
Of toil and passion, danger and distress,
Brave hope, true love, and utter faithfulness?

But human hearts that suffer good and ill,
And hold to virtue with a loyal will,
Adorn the law that rules our mortal strife
With star-surpassing victories of life.

So take our thanks, dear reader of the skies,
Devout astronomer, most humbly wise,
For lessons brighter than the stars can give,
And inward light that helps us all to live.

The world has brought the laurel-leaves to crown
The star-discoverer's name with high renown;
Accept the flower of love we lay with these
For influence sweeter than the Pleiades!

Silence (Version 2)

Life passes by
In silence we breathe
At all the wrongs done
In one singular Life

Silence we are told
Is what will save your life
NEVER tell a soul
Of the torment
In your life

Silently you suffer
At the hands of evil deeds
You cannot even whisper
SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE

Often you cry
All alone at night
And over the years
You learn to stifle the tears

In silence you watch
Wondering will anyone hear
Or even want to know
About my story of woe

Then slowly it trickles
A teardropp falls
Its time people heard
That silence is no more
Its time to speak up
To share my story of old
