One Hour To Madness And Joy
ONE hour to madness and joy!
O furious! O confine me not!
(What is this that frees me so in storms?
What do my shouts amid lightnings and raging winds mean?)
O to drink the mystic deliria deeper than any other man!
O savage and tender achings!
(I bequeath them to you, my children,
I tell them to you, for reasons, O bridegroom and bride.)
O to be yielded to you, whoever you are, and you to be yielded to me,
in defiance of the world!
O to return to Paradise! O bashful and feminine! 10
O to draw you to me--to plant on you for the first time the lips of a
determin'd man!
O the puzzle--the thrice-tied knot--the deep and dark pool! O all
untied and illumin'd!
O to speed where there is space enough and air enough at last!
O to be absolv'd from previous ties and conventions--I from mine, and
you from yours!
O to find a new unthought-of nonchalance with the best of nature!
O to have the gag remov'd from one's mouth!
O to have the feeling, to-day or any day, I am sufficient as I am!
O something unprov'd! something in a trance!
O madness amorous! O trembling!
O to escape utterly from others' anchors and holds! 20
To drive free! to love free! to dash reckless and dangerous!
To court destruction with taunts--with invitations!
To ascend--to leap to the heavens of the love indicated to me!
To rise thither with my inebriate Soul!
To be lost, if it must be so!
To feed the remainder of life with one hour of fulness and freedom!
With one brief hour of madness and joy.

FROM pent-up, aching rivers;
From that of myself, without which I were nothing;
From what I am determin'd to make illustrious, even if I stand sole

From my own voice resonant--singing the phallus,
Singing the song of procreation,
Singing the need of superb children, and therein superb grown people,
Singing the muscular urge and the blending,
Singing the bedfellow's song, (O resistless yearning!
O for any and each, the body correlative attracting!
O for you, whoever you are, your correlative body! O it, more than
all else, you delighting!) 10
--From the hungry gnaw that eats me night and day;
From native moments--from bashful pains--singing them;
Singing something yet unfound, though I have diligently sought it,
many a long year;
Singing the true song of the Soul, fitful, at random;
Singing what, to the Soul, entirely redeem'd her, the faithful one,
even the prostitute, who detain'd me when I went to the city;
Singing the song of prostitutes;

The mystic deliria--the madness amorous--the utter abandonment;
(Hark close, and still, what I now whisper to you,
I love you---O you entirely possess me, 30
O I wish that you and I escape from the rest, and go utterly off--O
free and lawless,
Two hawks in the air--two fishes swimming in the sea not more lawless
than we;)
--The furious storm through me careering--I passionately trembling;
The oath of the inseparableness of two together--of the woman that
loves me, and whom I love more than my life--that oath
swearing;
(O I willingly stake all, for you!
O let me be lost, if it must be so!
O you and I--what is it to us what the rest do or think?
What is all else to us? only that we enjoy each other, and exhaust
each other, if it must be so:)
--From the master--the pilot I yield the vessel to;
The general commanding me, commanding all--from him permission
taking; 40
From time the programme hastening, (I have loiter'd too long, as it
is;)
From sex--From the warp and from the woof;
(To talk to the perfect girl who understands me,
To waft to her these from my own lips--to effuse them from my own
body;)
From privacy--from frequent repinings alone;
From plenty of persons near, and yet the right person not near;
From the soft sliding of hands over me, and thrusting of fingers
through my hair and beard;
From the long sustain'd kiss upon the mouth or bosom;
From the close pressure that makes me or any man drunk, fainting with
excess;
From what the divine husband knows--from the work of fatherhood; 50
From exultation, victory, and relief--from the bedfellow's embrace in
the night;
From the act-poems of eyes, hands, hips, and bosoms,
From the cling of the trembling arm,
From the bending curve and the clinch,
From side by side, the pliant coverlid off-throwing,
From the one so unwilling to have me leave--and me just as unwilling
to leave,
(Yet a moment, O tender waiter, and I return;)
--From the hour of shining stars and dropping dews,
From the night, a moment, I, emerging, flitting out,
Celebrate you, act divine--and you, children prepared for, 60
And you, stalwart loins.

Moonlight Madness
Its the midnight hour and I wish you were here
Somebody following me, I just cant sleep alone
I figure its the way I am ,or a thing that
Happened to me somewhere in my childhood
Im all that I could ever be in your arms
Its like I cant imagine life without you
But all my women cry
And all my heroes die, or we could try a little
Moonlight madness
We could do the strangest things
Try a little moonlight madness
Let someone in your dreams
Or we could try a little moonlight madness
Living on the same old lies
We should not try to find the meaning
Let history decide
Whether its right or wrong to give you
What I may give you
How we learn to do the things,we never do
Let me try a little moonlight madness
On you
I cry with a smile and I laugh with a tear
I struggle but the body wont move
And the quicksand pulls me down
I wanna be the man that you think I am
I follow in the steps of the one
Who knows the darkness well
And you can get me by your side
By talking to me with your eyes
Not breaking promises
Im howling at the moon
Im howling,howling at the moon
Or we could try a little
Moonlight madness
We could do the strangest things
Try a little something different
The mystery remains
Whether its right or wrong to love each other
Yearning in the brain for something new
Let me try a little moonlight madness
Try a little moonlight madness
Try a little moonlight madness
On you
Try a little...

A Gentle Madness (Love Poem)
Love is a gentle madness that leaves you empty,
Giving everything and expecting nothing back.
Love is a gentle madness that makes you feel alive,
Taking pleasure in every little thing she does.
Love is a gentle madness that changes everything,
Making your life impossible without her near.
Love is a gentle madness that drowns your sorrow,
Blinding you to her perfectly obvious imperfections.
Love is a gentle madness that brings you peace,
Holding you closer than her breath each night.
Love is a gentle madness that turns your world,
Seeing only beauty as she looks into your eyes.

The Obvious
Wake me from this altered state
My future's looking brighter all the time
I'm stumbling and delirious
Something's changed since those teenage days
I'm growing into my own
I'm the talk of the town
Looking strange and I'll say it out loud
There's nothing left to hide
When duplicating the obvious
And it's nothing we decide
Like you, like me
Twist my words so they reed me wrong
The truth was neevr good enough for you
Is that the best you can do?
Talk me down look in my face
Look at you now, feeling like the clown
Next time you should think it over
There's nothing left to hide
Nothing left to hide
When duplicating the obvious
When duplicating the obvious
And it's nothing we decide
Liek you, like me
With no reason, you twist my words
'Cause you're helpless lost in a state of madness
In a state of madness
In a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness
In a state of madness
In a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness
In a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness

In the inferno of my love session
In the inferno of my love session
And in the madness of my passion
It was heedless on my part
To empower and to delegate authority to my heart
Once bestowed merely on my reason
Herein my reasons I construe
Because my feelings were so full and overwhelming
I could see you in my soul
So much in my soul whole
That I spoke to you within my soul
To such madness I had come
In the blessing of your love
That even imagined your slightest boon
Could drive me to delirium
This I find in my affection
And even more that I cannot convey
But you, from all I did not say
Will sense the love beyond expression

Running waters
Twas the way the dawn of the flower
of long time ago in sping,
to open the doors of the hour
to see what was within..
Growing seeds of madness
of a life in spring,
to everlasting flower and with
a drink of gin.
having faith long ago that we
all have in space.
to an everlasting flower
to an everlasting grace.
of all things come together as
time passes by.
to enjoy the hour with an worthy eye.

Love Leads To Madness (Alternate Extended Version)
Do I feel alright?
I'll go anywhere you say you wanna take me
Save me, run away-ay-ay, steal away-ay-ay
'Cause I feel alright
I'll do anything you say you wanna make me
Take me far away-ay-ay, run away-ay-ay
We've been up all night
Tryin' to avoid a situation
Hold me, let me feel your way
'Cause I wanna stay
Let them all start talkin'
We won't give ourselves away
Our love leads to madness
Our love leads to madness
Our love leads to madness
Do you feel alright?
And can you see me when you're lookin' in your mirror
Crazy, try to find a way, so your heart don't pay
Run away-ay-ay
Don't you give yourself away
Our love leads to madness
Our love leads to madness
Our love leads to madness
Our love leads to madness

Madness Is Not My Poem
MADNESS IS NOT MY POEM
Madness is not my poem-
I have lived a life
Striving to remain sane.
Madness is pain and disorder-
Madness is the hurting that does not know its own end-
Madness is screaming and praying for the pain to stop
When the pain does not stop.
Madness is not my poem
I strive against Madness all my life
Sane I am even when sad
Madness is not my poem
Though I will die being afraid
It still might be.

guess the hour
of my madness
when loneliness
begins to rise
and move
like a smoke
from the
chimney
it is dark and there is
nowhere to go

When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical may be madness. To surrender dreams, this may be madness. To seek treasures where there is only trash... Too much sanity may be madness, and maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be.

Sea Of Madness
Out in the street somebodys crying
Out in the night the fires burn
Maybe tonight somebodys crying
Reached the point of no return
Oh - my eyes they see but I cant believe
Oh - my heart is heavy as I turn my back and leave
Like the eagle and the dove
Fly so high on wings above
When all you see can only bring you sadness
Like a river we will flow
On towards the sea we go
When all you do can only bring you sadness
Out on the sea of madness
Somewhere I hear a voice thats calling
Out in the dark there burns a dream
You got to hope when you are falling
To find the world that you have seen
Oh -
Oh -
Its madness
The sun dont shine
On the sea of madness
There aint no wind to fill your sails
Madness when all you see can only bring you sadness
On towards the sea we go...

At This Hour After Tonight
at this hour
after tonight
when the darkness is over
when dusk peeps in
inside my sighing soul
the warm body whistles
for again it has triumphed
as it feasts upon
the madness of its own flesh
the soul does not perish
but it cannot
for the time being
on some divinities relish
ah! look at this firm body
it has a tongue & a mouth
and luscious lips
it is dominated by its king
this....sex organ

Magic Madness
Lost in a portrait I saw as a boy,
of posing flamingos and tropical sun.
Suzanne is calling from out of her window,
a sweet invitation for oranges and rum.
Dive in the dawn of her shimmering ways,
“Love me for ever”, she said,
or give me your power for only a day”,
then drove me right out of my head.
Magic Madness in the candle-light night
where raging fires burn to turn to coals
Magic Madness, silken, satin delight.
Hotly whispered pleading, “More, my baby, more…”
Magic Madness
Sway to the beckoning Spanish guitar,
castanets tapping a rhythm to me.
Angela moves like a dream coming answered
and slyly enchanting this man of the sea.
Sailing come morning and I must be there.
“Love me forever”, she cried,
or lie in my garden as long as you dare”,
then drove me right out of my mind.
Magic Madness in the candle-light night
where raging fires burn to turn to coals
Magic Madness, silken, satin delight.
Hotly whispered pleading, “More, my baby, more…”
Magic Madness
Fate fills the years, like wind in the main.
The boy grows to manhood then sails no more.
Valerie’s calling the children to supper,
wordlessly watching me watching the shore.
Madness comes on as the moon turns the tide,
“Come to me sailor, again.
Your harbor is waiting to take you inside
and magic will dance on the wind.”
Magic Madness in the candle-light night
where raging fires burn to turn to coals
Magic Madness, silken, satin delight.
Hotly whispered pleading, “More, my baby, more…”

Influences
My eyes now behold larger vista's
From potted plant to the wild flower
I am a trembling galaxy of For-Get-Me-Nots
That bloom incessantly-hour after hour
I am a fully realized Soul
In this World i am utterly at home
Embracing a Universal Oneness
But more importantly-Never alone
My Spirit transcends all petty concerns
Of many the ordinary kind
Resting securely under a brillant nebulae
While in deep thought-Walt Whitman comes to mind

In The Middle Of Madness
(instrumental intro)
Dont you really love her, dont you really care
Youve been looking forever, how did she get you there
In the middle of madness, when all has gone
In the middle of madness, she walks, she breathes babylon
Isnt she so pretty, isnt she so fine
Havent you been blessed to hold her all the time
In the middle of madness, when all has gone
In the middle of madness, she walks, she breathes babylon
(cant figure out this part)
(instrumental)
Have you found a heaven, try to see the worth,
Looking at the future, shes right here on earth
In the middle of madness, when all has gone
In the middle of madness, she walks, she breathes babylon
In the middle of madness, when all has gone
In the middle of madness, she walks, she breathes babylon
(fade out)

Im Free
I was stranded in the dark
Trying to find an open door
So alone
Chains were wrapped around my heart
Didnt know what love was for
No more
Heard these voices in my head
Telling me youll never escape
No you cant get away
When the spirit in me said
Your love could show me the way
My whole life changed on that day
Now Im walking in the light
All aglow
All I see is sunshine in my eyes
Skies of blue, its true
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free
Now when clouds surround me
They have no place around me
All because your love has set me free
Im free
From the time that I knew
That I could find love in you
My hearts been renewed
Now all my dreams are coming true
Im free
I was frightened in the cold
Desperate when you found me in time
You saved me from the world
Got my life back in control
Chased away the madness in my mind
You saved me right in time
Now my futures looking up
Skies of blue, all because of you
Got the sunshine in my life
All aglow, baby, dont you know
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free
Now when clouds surround me
They have no place around me
All because your love has set me free
Im free
From the time that I knew
That I could find love in you
My hearts been renewed
Now all my dreams are coming true
Im free
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free

All because your love has set me free
Im free

At This Hour, It Is The Deep Of The Night
at this hour, it is the deep of the night
calm,
silent,
there is no wind blowing, i can hear the typing
of words
in this keyboard, this personal computer, writing,
because i cannot sleep, after we made love, because i am still
thinking what to do with my life,
what is the next move,
after love,
when there is no hate, because i have stopped feeling altogether
all those years,
and the years shall come slowly like some growing children
in your eyes, not seeing how the cells add to become their innocent eyes,
i am here again at midnight, then dawn,
2: 11 a.m.
that is the time here in this room
on this island
on this nook of the big, wide world,
time had made some divisions for all of us
for you it is morning, and for her it is noon,
but we are here writing at this moment for all different reasons,
some claim happiness and bliss and love and nature and hope,
i still claim my main reasons,
doubt, this sadness that has known how it is to write and be not able
to get a sound sleep, this lostness in space trying to find
where is everything
from nothing.

After the Battle
Night closed around the conqueror's way,
And lightnings show'd the distant hill,
Where those who lost that dreadful day
Stood few and faint, but fearless still.
The soldier's hope, the patriot's zeal,
For ever dimm'd, for ever crost --
Oh! who shall say what heroes feel,
When all but life and honour's lost?
The last sad hour of freedom's dream,
And valour's task, moved slowly by,
While mute they watch'd, till morning's beam
Should rise and give them light to die.
There's yet a world, where souls are free,
Where tyrants taint not nature's bliss; --
If death that world's bright opening be,
Oh! who would live a slave in this?

Madness
I've never had much cause for worry
And i've not got a lot to say
You'll never find me in a hurry
Because i live my life day by day
People say that i'm crazy
But i'm not that way inclined
I know what i know and i'll happily show
That madness is all in the mind
Twenty-four hours is all that i care for
I believe that's the only way
Twenty-four hours is all that is needed
Because i live my life day by day
People say that i'm crazy
But i'm not that way inclined
I know what i know and i'll happily show
That madness is all in the mind
I'm happy the way that i do things
Continually feeling okay
I've no worries on what tomorrow brings
Because i live my life day by day
People say that i'm crazy
But i'm not that way inclined
I know what i know and i'll happily show
That madness is all in the mind
Well some men seek answers in bottles
And others in degenerate ways
But i don't care much for the question
Madness is all in the mind
Madness is all in the mind
Madness is all in the mind
Madness is all in the mind
