Something Grand
Something grand
on a scale
yet to be conceived
reaching to the stars
and beyond
seeming within the grasp
of our imagination.

Its Like Reaching For The Moon
Sherman / lewis / marqusee
Its like reaching for the moon
Its like reaching for the sun
Its like reaching for the stars
Reaching for you
Youre so far above me
How can I expect than an angel to
Its so refined as you are
Its like flying without wings
Playing fiddle without strings
And a million other things
No one can do
No, my hopes are slender
In my secret heart I pray youll surrender soon
No, its like reaching for the moon

Reaching Out
Reaching out is part of our lives.
We reach out for love and friendship.
We reach out for a great many things
and some of those things we reach out for
fall within our grasp.
While other things we reach out for are unattainable,
but we reach out for them
just the same again and again.
It is up to us to choose which is which.
Love and friendship
are always within our grasp
if we reach out for them long enough.
It is some of the other things
we reach out forever for,
which we can never attain.
Riches and that peace of mind
that seem to elude our grasp,
still we reach out for them
time and time again.

Your Imagination
Lyrics & music: daryl hall
I remember when i used to be the jealous kind
I got over it, now you're taking over my old line
You're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
I ain't doin' nothing that you could really say was wrong
Just one oversight and no that didn't last too long
Listen, you're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
Don't know what you're looking for
What's this thing about "true blue"
You know i ain't no danger boy
You're the one i like to touch, touch you, you
When the mood is right, change the light and the moment's gone
Better turn around, 'cause the light doesn't last too long
You're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
Imagination, your imagination
Imagination, use your imagination.

Never ever come
Imagination
Grew up
in my soul
To be planted
In a silent moment
Your voice
Like a bomb
Destroyed it at once
It never conceived again
I curse
To my mind
He never understood.

My grand dad
I remember you grand dad
Back since I was only three
I remember you granddad
How much you adored me
I remember you grand dad
How you made me smile
I remember you grand dad
You made my toddler years worthwhile
I remember you grand dad
Your lovely smell of tobacco
I remember you grand dad
The love for others you would show
I remember you grand dad
When I came to see you, you would give me a jellybean
I remember you grand dad
You always made me feel like a queen
I remember you grand dad
And I miss you everyday
Wild Roses
Flowers bloom
toward the sky
Reaching tall
Reaching high
to touch the endless
endless sky
Reaching tall
until they die
Thorny touch
lover's sigh
A field of roses
where they lie
Eyes towards
the starry sky
Reaching tall
Reaching high
Reaching until
until they die
In grassy meadow
there they lie
Hands apart
beneath the sky
Starlight shines
on silent eyes
that softly speak
their muted cries
On a bed of roses
there they lie
Reaching until
Until...

Like A Circling Way
This moment is going on to the dust
Turning around each every must
Reaching its time
That came together and is now going
On to the sideways of their flowing
Reaching its time
Something, like a circling way
Reaching its time
This moment is borrowed from something
That never will come here again
In its time
Billows of oceans never the same
Burning on burning in their flame
In its time
Something, like a circling way
Reaching its time
Something, like a circling way
Reaching its time
In its time, time, time
Ways to the sea are reaching the heart
Oceans of occasion were they did start
Love songs of airways in their rampart
Every dream is giving its stream
Flowing motions that endlessly seem
Reaching its time
In its time
Every time is different from it all
As days comes clear in and fall
Getting away and deliver
Wherever there are moments of call
In its time
Something, like a circling way
Reaching its time
Something, like a circling way
Reaching its time

Shelter
Just come softly to me
I the shelter of my heart
I watch you from my window, working this vicious road
You shudder when the wind blows,
Girl youre looking beat and cold
Dont know your situation, but you look so alone to me
In my imagination this is how the message reads
(reaching out for youre love, for youre love babe)
Just come softly to me,
(reaching out.. calling out for youre love, for youre love babe)
In the shelter of my heart
Trust my intuition youre the one Ive got to know
I give without condition wouldnt try to save youre soul
Money or reputation doesnt mean a thing to me
Special communication its the only thing we need
Reaching out... calling out
Just come softly to me
Calling out... hear me now
In the shelter of my heat
(reaching out.. calling out for yore love, for youre love babe)
Calling out... hear me now
Just come softly to me
(calling out.. calling out for youre love babe)
Hear me now... do you read me?
In the shelter of my heart.
-
Here is no hurt to feel
Here is safe for lips unsealed
In the shelter of my heart
Reaching out, for your love, for your love babe
(just come softly to me)
Reaching out, calling out for your love, for your love babe
(in the shelter of my heart)
(chorus)

Up The Hill Backwards
The vacuum created by the arrival of freedom
And the possibilities it seems to offer
Its got nothing to do with you, if one can grasp it
Its got nothing to do with you, if one can grasp it
A series of shocks - sneakers fall apart
Earth keeps on rolling - witnesses falling
Its got nothing to do with you, if one can grasp it
Its got nothing to do with you, if one can grasp it
Yeah, yeah, yeah - up the hill backwards
Itll be alright ooo-ooo
While we sleep they go to work
Were legally crippled its the death of love
Its got nothing to do with you, if one can grasp it
Its got nothing to do with you, if one can grasp it
More idols then realities
Im ok, youre so-so
Yeah, yeah, yeah - up the hill backwards
Itll be alright ooo-ooo

Bare-Limbed Tree
summer gone to dog days,
autumn approaches on a
strange wind....
i long to watch the leaves turn,
and fall, tiny love stories
that no one else can see.
and the sound the bare-limbed
tree makes... reaching for the sky,
reaching through winter for
the spring....
the smell of woodsmoke,
coffee and brandy by the fire...
a thousand memories turned
to brown, lost to eternal moments,
i am that bare-limbed tree!
reaching for the sky, reaching
for another spring.... reaching
through death, reaching for you!

Pureness Of Stars
The stars will reappear, suddenly,
Just like the sun and its planets.
The stars embrace me when fatigue appears,
A dormant spectacle of the stars.
I got tired of my music that sang,
My bodies are numbered one, the old age.
Roof of my tent is absurd, on this side,
As the rain and the sun glimmer and splatter.
My star called our star persuaded us to care
About the pureness of purposes conceived.
May your jewels of the soul be a fortnight away,
Must we just end this hope forever?

I Am Thy Friend.............thy Friend
When the world brutally turns you away
A friend will not say no
There is strength that we all have
It's not the strength we show
And in your darkest hour
In your darkest nights
Whatever life will do
I am here for you
Think of me wherever you are
When it seems like you're reaching the end
Call on me, know in your heart
On one you can always depend
I am thy friend
I am thy friend
I am thy friend
Though we're far away
The sky and the stars above are the same
And when you feel alone
There's one who shares your pain
A true friend has no price
There is none to pay
I remember you stood by me
I'm with you all the way
Think of me wherever you are
when it seems like you're reaching the end
Call on me, know in your heart
one who will always defend
Though we're far away
the sky and the stars above are the same
I am thy friend
I am thy friend
………… Thy friend

Reaching Out
See how the child reaches out instinctively
To feel how fire will feel.
See how the man reaches out instinctively
For what he cannot have.
The pull and the push of it all.
Reaching out for the hand.
Reaching out for the hand that smacked.
Reaching out for that hand to hold.
Reaching out for the star.
Reaching out for the star that explodes.
Reaching out for mama.
See how the flower leans instinctively
Toward the light.
See how the heart reaches out instinctively
For no reason but to touch.
The pull and the push of it all.
Reaching out for the hand
Reaching out for the hand that smacked
Reaching out for that hand to hold.
Reaching out for the star.
Reaching out for the star that explodes.
Reaching out for mama.
(cant we see...)
Reaching out for mama.

Everything That Acts Is Actual
From the tawny light
from the rainy nights
from the imagination finding
itself and more than itself
alone and more than alone
at the bottom of the well where the moon lives,
can you pull me
into December? a lowland
of space, perception of space
towering of shadows of clouds blown upon
clouds over
new ground, new made
under heavy December footsteps? the only
way to live?
The flawed moon
acts on the truth, and makes
an autumn of tentative
silences.
You lived, but somewhere else,
your presence touched others, ring upon ring,
and changed. Did you think
I would not change?
The black moon
turns away, its work done. A tenderness,
unspoken autumn.
We are faithful
only to the imagination. What the
imagination
seizes
as beauty must be truth. What holds you
to what you see of me is
that grasp alone.

Plantation Boy
Lots of people walk about proud and free
Lift up your head start looking around
Theres a brandnew feeling of liberty
Like a clear bell thats starting to sound
Plantation boy
Cmon and get going
Yesterdays chains have broken in two
Plantation boy
The new move is growing
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Lots of smiling faces for you to meet
So many hands to help you along
Just shake off the mud that weighs down your feet
If you stand tall you just cant go wrong
Plantation boy
Cmon and get going
Yesterdays chains have broken in two
Plantation boy
The new move is growing
Reaching the hills, the valleys and you
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Years of picking cotton for little pay
Living alone in some wooden shack
Sweating in the heat of a summers day
This is all over, you wont come back
Plantation boy
Cmon and get going
Yesterdays chains have broken in two
Plantation boy
The new move is growing
Reaching the hills, the valleys and you
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Cmon and get going
Yesterdays chains have broken in two
Plantation boy
The new move is growing
Reaching the hills, the valleys and you
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Plantation boy
Wherever you may go
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you...
