Passion Flower
Choose who will the wiser part—
I have held her heart to heart;
And have felt her heart-strings stirred,
And her soul’s still singing heard
For one golden-haloed hour
Of Love’s life the passion-flower.
So the world may roll or rest—
I have tasted of its best;
And shall laugh while I have breath
At thy dart and thee, O Death!

Commemoration
I sat by the granite pillar, and sunlight fell
Where the sunlight fell of old,
And the hour was the hour my heart remembered well,
And the sermon rolled and rolled
As it used to roll when the place was still unhaunted,
And the strangest tale in the world was still untold.
And I knew that of all this rushing of urgent sound
That I so clearly heard,
The green young forest of saplings clustered round
Was heeding not one word:
Their heads were bowed in a still serried patience
Such as an angel's breath could never have stirred.
For some were already away to the hazardous pitch,
Or lining the parapet wall,
And some were in glorious battle, or great and rich,
Or throned in a college hall:
And among the rest was one like my own young phantom,
Dreaming for ever beyond my utmost call.
'O Youth,' the preacher was crying, 'deem not thou
Thy life is thine alone;
Thou bearest the will of the ages, seeing how
They built thee bone by bone,
And within thy blood the Great Age sleeps sepulchred
Till thou and thine shall roll away the stone.
'Therefore the days are coming when thou shalt burn
With passion whitely hot;
Rest shall be rest no more; thy feet shall spurn
All that thy hand hath got;
And One that is stronger shall gird thee, and lead thee swiftly
Whither, O heart of Youth, thou wouldest not.'
And the School passed; and I saw the living and dead
Set in their seats again,
And I longed to hear them speak of the word that was said,
But I knew that I longed in vain.
And they stretched forth their hands, and the wind of the spirit took them
Lightly as drifted leaves on an endless plain.

Someone's Heart
sounds never heard, words never spoken, eyes that never see, feeling never felt, someone's heart forever melts,
love never returned, passion never givin, pleasure never shown, something someone's heart will never know,
tears always felt, pain always known, sorrow that never goes away, for someone's heart that knows it very well, someone's heart is broken, someone's heart is never missed, someone's heart will mend,
someone's heart will never love again, someone's heart will never trust again and want to love, someone's heart never felt and my heart forever melts.

My Heart Beats For You
I felt the love so deep in my heart
Like a knife tearing me apart
I felt your breath in every
Pulsating blood vessel flowing
Through my veins, and I knew
That my life would never be the same.
I felt my heart wanting to break
Every time I’d look at your face.
Your eyes would take me on a long journey
To places I’ve never been before
Like in a whirlpool going round and round
And my self going further down.
You are every breath of my life
Every desire in my soul
And you are the one I want to hold.
My heart has become an open book
Pick it up and take a look.
My heart no longer has anything to hide
So come on down and climb inside.
Look at the way a heart truly beats for you
And there is nothing that I wouldn’t do.
To capture your love and put it in a bottle
For all the world to see, that your love
Belongs to me.
This is my heart and I give it to you
Like a bee gives us honey
Taste the sweetness and the joy it brings
For your love is my everything.

Her Love Divine
She gave me the key to her heart!
And led me to her most treasured part.
She held my pulses and said 'be still'
Her charm healed my common ill
She touched my cold soul to life
Whose love dared my mortal strife
And at night she whispered these words to me
'Let me be wherever you may be
I will hold you close to keep you warm
In all your dreams, i will bless you unharm
And though you sleep that sleep of death
I will be your prayers, i will be your breath
Yet if the new day must thee forget
Your sun in my heart shall never set'!

To Anthea, Who May Command Him Any Thing
Bid me to live, and I will live
Thy Protestant to be;
Or bid me love, and I will give
A loving heart to thee.
A heart as soft, a heart as kind,
A heart as sound and free
As in the whole world thou canst find,
That heart I'll give to thee.
Bid that heart stay, and it will stay
To honour thy decree;
Or bid it languish quite away,
And't shall do so for thee.
Bid me to weep, and I will weep,
While I have eyes to see;
And having none, yet I will keep
A heart to weep for thee.
Bid me despair, and I'll despair,
Under that cypress tree;
Or bid me die, and I will dare
E'en death, to die for thee.
--Thou art my life, my love, my heart,
The very eyes of me;
And hast command of every part,
To live and die for thee.

A Bird and flower upon the tree
A bird and flower upon the tree,
Sweet peony and oriole,
Each of them a perfect soul,
Song and sweetness manifest
The bird and flower we love the best
Side by side on the tall tree.
'Flower who art sunlight and fire, flower who art perfume and joy,
Sweetest of sweet,
Ah for the gift withheld!
Ah for the given gift's alloy!
Why must thy spirit exhale only in beauty and breath?
Ah for the voice thou hast not! I by thy side on the tree,
Telling the world of love, pain, and all raptures that be,
Raptures of laughter and life, raptures of tears and death,
Singing my heart to heaven, singing to earth at my feet;
Silence in thee.'
'Bird who art dew-drops and flame, bird who art rapture and song,
Sweetest of sweet,
Lo there's a voice part mine, songs that to me too belong,
Songs that grew of my growth, voice that has breathed my breath.
Bird that while I sit mute singest beside on the tree,
Hast thou ever a song taking no perfume of me?
Give forth my sweetness in song; bird, thou art singing for both,
Singing our hearts to heaven, singing to earth at our feet;
My voice in thee.'
On the tree-top side by side,
Sweet oriole and peony;
Music rings through earth and sky,
Sweet and sweet in sweetness lost
The flower and bird we love the most,
On the tree-top side by side.

Passion
A passion found, is a passion to keep
A passion felt, is a passion to be kept
Poetry from the heart, poetry from the soul,
Poetry I have always felt,
There are many passions in
this world but none like this one, which you can
always return too when you feel lost or
feel you have something to say
I love thee yet, I love thee more
but with words I can express thee hence more
Sometimes life feels too complex to find the one with the same passion as you share,
Someone that understands you for you, not only the external you, but the inner you,
Someone that understands your thoughts and passions in life; pleasure is one thing but
Once that desire for pleasure with that person has been diminished,
what is there, nothing, a desire gone and lost,
yet to say I yearn, and can't wait till I find the one that shares the same passion and desires as I do

How Do I Love Thee? (Sonnet 43)
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Love Songs
I
I LOVE my life, but not too well
To give it to thee like a flower,
So it may pleasure thee to dwell
Deep in its perfume but an hour.
I love my life, but not too well.
I love my life, but not too well
To sing it note by note away,
So to thy soul the song may tell
The beauty of the desolate day.
I love my life, but not too well.
I love my life, but not too well
To cast it like a cloak on thine,
Against the storms that sound and swell
Between thy lonely heart and mine.
I love my life, but not too well.
II
Your love is like a blue, blue wave
The little rainbows play in.
Your love is like a mountain cave
Cool shadows darkly stay in.
It thrills me like great gales at war,
It soothes like softest singing.
It bears me where clear rivers are,
With reeds and rushes swinging;
Or out to pearly shores afar
Where temple bells are ringing.
III
And is it pain to you
That we must love and part?
Ah, if you only knew
The gladness in my heart!
Love is enough. Each day
I look upon the sun,
He loves me! I shall say,
Now is my life begun.
He loves me! Every night,
On the dark verge of sleep,
The rapture will alight
And to my bosom creep.
Peace, for I should not dare
A keener joy implore.
My soul shall feel no care—
Until you love no more.

Open Your Heart
Don't let the sun go down on me
Open your heart
Just let me be your destiny
Open your heart
What I never felt before
I really need you more and more
Don't let the sun go down on me
Open your heart
Open your heart
Open your heart
Open your heart
Open your heart
Open your heart
Even when you're far away
You're on my mind, every night and day
Don't let me live without a goal
Deep inside you are my soul
I've been fooled by love so many times
I've been blind, I've seen no signs
You're the one for me, we'll never part
Stay with me and open your heart
I can't express what's goin' on
I feel so lonely when you're gone
Is it real or is it fake
Am I dreaming, am I awake
You're the one I have been waiting for
I can't hold it back no more
You're the one for me, we'll never part
Stay with me and open your heart
I need you, don't let the sun, go down on me
Count on me, let me be your destiny,
See you got the key, to my Heart
We'll never part, from the start till the end of time,
You' re always mine, take a glass of wine
And let the sun shine, find out,
What is right or wrong,
What's going on, I feel lonely when you're gone
You're style is Magic - you hypnotise me
You came into my life, set me free
Light and energy, all around the galaxy
You made it brighter so that I could see
Like a melody in ecstasy,
See our love will last, eternally
Seems that your life is the golden key
Don't let the sun go down on me

You Are A Stone Hearted
You are a stone hearted
that so my heart is bleeding
with your one hit
What my fragile heart will understand
harshness of your heart and
what your heart will understand
delicacy of my heart
My heart is more placid
than petal of any flower
Your heart is stone
that can overcome high tides of oceans
No fire can burn your heart
because you are a stone hearted
My heart can fuse with your little love
that so I hug without any care
or dare for life and death
My heart is a flower
Your heart is a stone
As a stone I worship your heart
offer my flower heart
Either you love or kick off
But my heart is made to adore you only.

My heart in the world
My heart cries
for change in the world
My heart bleeds
for peace in the world
My heart seeks
fullness in the world
My heart beats
for love in the world
My heart howls
for sanity in the world
My heart hopes
for greatness in the world
My heart fades
for hate in the world
My heart dies
for life in the world
My heart prays
for faith in the world
My heart crawls
for growth in the world
but the world
spills my heart like water held in its hand

Which Comes First
when two people get married
is it a marriage of Body and Mind?
or is it a marriage of Heart and Soul?
and which one comes first?
SOMETHING TO PONDER!
what did i feel when i proposed?
my Body: told me that i ached for
the joining together, and sexual fulfillment.
my Mind: told me that i wanted to be
with her for the rest of my life.
my Heart: felt empty without her.
my Soul: soared to the highest height
to see all that could be given and achieved.
when i first saw you my Heart stood still
like on a roller coaster going down
and feeling the thrill.
and as that thrill rose, my Soul climbed high above
to show me this beautiful love.
this love so strong that it consumed my Body and Mind.
that it took me to 'the end of time'.
so for me which came first, as you can
plainly see, Heart and Soul was the one for me.
i give you my Heart- and all it contains
for without you, my life will never be the same.
i give you my Soul-for that is the other part
that i have to give
for without a Soul we can not live.
i give you my Mind- for your love to control
for it protects my Heart and Soul.
i give you my Body-
which is an empty shell
for without your love, i'm in living hell.
these are the four parts of this mere man
and i give it to you, for that's my plan.
i would take the human sufferings of
torture, pain and defeat
as long as i know your love i'll keep.
'YOU ARE LIFE' and all that it holds
Body, Mind, Heart and Soul.
take me as you would a breath of air
and my life with you i will share.
I THINK THE ANSWER THAT I HAVE GIVEN
SHOWS THAT LIFE IS WORTH LIVING.

A Hymn
While thee I seek, protecting Power!
Be my vain wishes still'd;
And may this consecrated hour
With better hopes be fill'd.
Thy love the powers of thought bestow'd,
To thee my thoughts would soar;
Thy mercy o'er my life has flow'd-
That mercy I adore.
In each event of life, how clear,
Thy ruling hand I see;
Each blessing to my soul more dear,
Because conferr'd by thee.
In every joy that crowns my days,
In every pain I bear,
My heart shall find delight in praise,
Or seek relief in prayer.
When gladness wings my favour'd hour,
Thy love my thoughts shall fill:
Resign'd, when storms of sorrow lower,
My soul shall meet thy will.
My lifted eye without a tear
The lowring storm shall see;
My stedfast heart shall know no fear-
That heart will rest on Thee!

The Rejection
I met him on a summer's day,
Lights sparkled in his eyes,
I felt that love had come my way,
I never once thought that he'd betray
My love, I had no thought of 'goodbyes'.
He turned my world so upside down,
He mesmerised me then,
He praised me on my choice of gown,
I felt as if he wore a crown,
For he towered above other men.
I thought that true love, I had found,
A love that was so sublime,
But I was wrong, he was not bound
To me, yet my heart can still resound
With sweet rung bells, that chime
How can one suddenly forget a face,
So dear, so deeply held
Within my being, in my minds embrace,
And have to feel such deep disgrace
At having been so availed.
No more shall I be soft of heart,
No more a swooning fool,
For no one will fire such a deadly dart
Into my soul, nor into any part
Of me again, how could he be so cruel.
I'll find someone to share my days,
Someone who's just a friend,
We'll feel for each other in many ways,
I'll give encouragement and also praise,
But never ever my heart, will I lend.
