Affliction

You have raided my night again
as the burst of a sudden storm
Sneaking into my loneliness
at the most unexpected hour
Plunging me into swirls of pain
too deep for expression.
Leaving me to drift aimless
through the dingy avenues of the past
Never once able to sever the chord
that binds me so tight to those memoirs
Exposing me to torrid heat
with my soul, burning down….
Like a piece of smouldering coal

Sleepless are my nights
Dreamless are my days
Like the sundown shadows growing bigger
With every stride we take
The farther I move, the closer you follow.

Can I convince you ever again
I never meant any harm to you
How wearily have I watched the flies
lured by the dazzling light
char into diminutive specks of black
by the scorching tongues of flame
Still, why did I let you burn
in the flame of my accursed passion?

You were like a flower admired from afar
Afraid of even the gentle breeze coming near
Lest it might jolt the delicate frame
And shake the petals down, sooner than due.

Yet vulnerable turned the moment
When all of a sudden, it started to rain
Like a child, eager to play in the puddles
You ran out into the pouring rain

All soaked through and through
You came in…..awhile my gaze
rested on the filmy fabric
seductively clinging to your curves,
Then,
That wild surge…..beat me down.
And Alas! Under a magnetic pull
surrendered your fragile self with ease.
In that moment of self abandonment
looted off all that you held chaste.

Never surmised, you were crying
when I felt your cheeks, so wet.
Now I know, it was agony
not ecstasy that I, then, beheld on your sentient face!

You refused to respond to my calls
Unanswered went all my anxious queries.
Like a hibernating toad,
to some dark under ground cave, you slid.

Abruptly, alerted on call
by an alien sound, far from familiar
I hastened to the casualty ward
and saw you lying limp
with drops of blood, still dripping down
from your slashed wrist
staring at me with an open mouth!

As I watched you lying still
with your eyes refusing to flutter,
I knew my world tottering below
and my heart, set ablaze
into a funeral pyre.

Red Rain

Red rain is coming down
Red rain
Red rain is pouring down
Pouring down all over me
I am standing up at the waters edge in my dream
I cannot make a single sound as you scream
It cant be that cold, the ground is still warm to touch
This place is so quiet, sensing that storm
Red rain is coming down
Red rain
Red rain is pouring down
Pouring down all over me
Well Ive seen them buried in a sheltered place in this town
They tell you that this rain can sting, and look down
There is no blood around see no sign of pain
Hay ay ay no pain
Seeing no red at all, see no rain
Red rain is coming down
Red rain
Red rain is pouring down
Pouring down all over me
Red rain-
Putting the pressure on much harder now
To return again and again
Just let the red rain splash you
Let the rain fall on your skin
I come to you defences down
With the trust of a child
Red rain is coming down
Red rain
Red rain is pouring down
Pouring down all over me
And I cant watch any more
No more denial
Its so hard to lay down in all of this
Red rain is coming down
Red rain is pouring down
Red rain is coming down all over me
I see it
Red rain is coming down
Red rain is pouring down
Red rain is coming down all over me
Im bathing in it
Red rain coming down
Red rain is coming down
Red rain is coming down all over me
Im begging you
Red rain coming down
Red rain coming down
Red rain coming down
Red rain coming down
Over me in the red red sea
Over me
Over me
Red rain

Pig

Isnt it strange
How we move our lives for another day
Like skipping a beat
What if a great wave should
Wash us all away
Just thinking out loud
Dont mean to dwell on this dying thing
But looking at blood
Its alive right now
Deep and sweet within
Pouring through our veins
Intoxicate moving wine to tears
Drinking it deep
Then an evening spent dancing
Its you and me
This love will open our world
From the dark side you can see a glow
Of something bright
Theres much more than we see here
Dont burn the day away
Is this not enough
The blessed sip of life
Is it not enough
Staring down at the ground
Oh then complain and pray
More from above
Greedy little pig
Stop just watch your world trickle away
Oh its your problem now
Itll all be dead and gone in
A few short years
Just love will open our eyes
Just love will put the hope back in our minds
Much more than we could ever know
Dont burn the day away
Come sister
My brother
Shake up your bones shake up your feet
Im saying open up
And let the rain come pouring in
Wash out this tired notion
That the best is yet to come
But while youre dancing on the ground
Dont think of when youre gone
Love! love! - what more is there?
We need the light of love in here
Dont beat your head
Dry your eyes
Let the love in there
There are bad times
But thats ok
Just look for love in it
Dont burn the day away
Look
Here are we
On this starry night staring into space
And I must say
I feel as small as dust
Lying down here
What point could there be troubling
Head down wondering what will
Become of me
Why concern we cannot see
But no reason to abandon it
Time is short but thats all right
Maybe Ill go out in the middle of the night
Take your hands from your eyes, my love
Everything must come to an end sometime
Dont burn the day away
Come sister
My brother
Shake up your bones shake up your feet
Im saying open up
And let the rain come flooding in
Wash out this tired notion
That the best is yet to come
But while youre dancing on the ground
Dont think of when youre gone
Love! love! - what more is there?
We need the light of love in here
Dont beat your head
Dry your eyes
Let the love in there
There are bad times
But thats ok
Just look for love in it

The Drop of a Feather

The dawn broke, tearing the dark shroud of gloom,
And lights turned on to greet another day,
Life taking its new course all around,
but in this room, life coming to an end!
No stir except the sound of faint breathing,
strangled hoarse within her feeble throat.
Walking over to the bed, I took her fragile hand,
and stroked it mildly in slow rhythm,
Smoothed the soft fleecy hair, lying dishevelled
that remained once so neatly combed.

I watched life gently slipping away,
The inevitable end to an eventful play!
Breaking all bounds, memories cascaded out,
and the mind changed into a river in spate,
Fondly surveyed her features and the face,
with a foreboding of never getting another chance.
Looked into the heart that held within,
an ocean of love that ebbed and swelled.
Words struggled to fly out from my lips,
Words never, ever said,
but took for granted that she knew.
I sensed the dampness on my cheeks,
and a lump forming within my throat.

This woman taught me once for all,
I could do what ever I set my mind to,
Who with wings out spread stood hovering,
Over her chicks when eagles swooped down.
Exhorted to brave daringly ahead,
through the dank and dark corridors of life
chasing the glimmer of light,
at the threshold of a brighter world.
Insisted on not to beguile the just,
But hold on to truth always.

I stood silent, my gaze fixed on the limp figure,
Now resting calmly on a propped up bed,
Her dried up bosom heaving high and low,
I knew her breath slowly dying down.
With a strained belch, she turned her head sideways,
With a sudden flutter, her sealed eyes were opened ajar.

Her benevolent eyes fixed on my face for once,
Did a smile fleet across that pallid face?
Oh! The eyeballs suddenly turned upwards,
And her mouth, slightly opened to let out the breath

She went noiselessly with so much ease,
like a feather, falling gently on the ground.

Vacantly I watched a solitary loon flying west ward,
and beyond the horizon it disappeared like a mote.

Without Hope, You Cannot Start The Day

Hold still now for the moving information close to you.
You could never force it in your life: this decision to break it.
Without hope, you cannot start the day.
Its coming clear Ive noticed;
Its a different face youre showing.
Its another welcome back.
I dont imagine it could be this way so jealous!
Only you can tell it; tell me why.
Only you call tell it.
Only you can say.
In between this moving out to save your soul it came away,
And took it out;
Oh why?
Fire burning wild, burning in the night, chasing in the wind;
Shadows always dance in the rain, ringing into the fire.
Doesnt matter who, who can see in the smile.
Hope in the rain, open the flame, coming back in the night.
I can see the rhythm of the rain; I can see it shout back under:
I can see what youre thinking of
I can see what you think you need
I can see what youre thinking of
I can see that it must be love
Shadows come alight from the vision that flowed;
Shake it off - passion is the flame that fired.
Does it matter? can you give? can you hear it come?
Can you see youre like?
Whats the matter? dont you want to risk? dont you want to hold me?
Hold me, dance in the rain.
I can see the love in your eyes; I can see you coming.
I can see what youre thinking of
I can see what you think you want
I can see what youre thinking of
I can see that it must be love
Sweet suffering, love protection: need it, you need; come to me.
Believe it, better by far, your heart is there;
Most of all: believe it.
Perfection reaction...

Teardrops of Rain

The rain outside is falling steadily but slowly
I look at each leaf seeing a tear dropp slide down
Each branch of this bush carries it's own burden
Some stand at attention feeling alive and excited feeling refreshed
While others droop in sadness as each tear dropp hits it
As the rain hits the leaves the rain drops stay resting on each petal
How will I shake this so the tears fall away leaving only happiness

As I stand outside there is a calm that comes over me
I hear the pain of the rain drops hitting the ground
Puddles form on the surface allowing people to walk all over your emotions
Little children stomp their way through each puddle not understanding the depth of the pain felt
As I walk through the rain I am careful not wanting to challenge the puddles that lie under my feet
Some puddles are deeper then others
Leaving more to soak up

I hear the steady dripping of rain falling against the down spout
The rain plays to it's own beat making beautiful music
Makes me want to lie down and take it all in
It is the most peaceful sound and brings stillness to my thoughts

As the night goes to bed and the morning takes over everything looks refreshed and wide awake
It is thime to take on a new day
A day of no teardrops of rain

Crying

(coverdale/vandenberg)
I smell trouble
And where theres smoke
There must be fire...
You sow your seeds of jealousy
And the flames
Just keep on growing higher...
This cant be love anymore,
I know, cause Ive done
Everything I can...
And all that you can do
I pour gasoline
On a burning man...
Tears of rage, tears of pain,
Burning my eyes,
I realise, Im crying...
Crying... Im crying
Bitter tears falling like rain...
Lies...
I can never understand,
You play your cards under the table,
Dealing me a losing hand...
Tears of rage, tears of pain,
Burning my eyes,
I realise, Im crying
Crying... Im crying
Bitter tears falling like rain...
Crying, always crying, crying
Bitter tears falling like rain...
I want to be there
When your demons come to call...
Im gonna finish what you started, baby,
Watch you burn little house down,
Burn it down, down, down...
Then Ill see you crying,
Crying... crying...
Bitter tears falling like rain...

EMBERS n a FIRE ABLAZE

MEMORIZING, how the embers are flickering
each flame seems to be dancing
wood thats crackiling 4m the heat
and both it and the fire are bickering
as to the charcoal we added, now is turning 4m black to grey
and the wood starts to burn slowly, as it withers away
ashes...flying all around...up high in the air
pieces fallen upon us, as they fall to the ground
ashes that now have turned to dust
as the fire flames leap high, and the fire is so alive

each spark has spoke, with the words made out of smoke
speaking the words....of my love and lust
as each wind gust
reinforces it over n again
the truth that lay on the tip of my tongue
i wish i knew, what to say..what ive been waiting
to say to you...but everytime i try to....
i freeze, and begin the hesitation
as each flame reaches high, headin 2wards the moonlit sky

and as ember begins anew, as the wind and ash have flew
i catch the flickering shadows at play..streaming along your handsome face
then a small wind blew...a small circle around me n you
the forces of nature freeze the time
and across the fires, that slowly dim
then sets a bright blaze...i whisper into the wind
practicing what i want to say to him
my heart stands still as i take in the fill
of the handsome glow of your face
the only sounds...are of the wood crackiling on the ground
the very sound, of my heart that grew a bit
LOUD, as i recaptured the shadows across your face
over the fire pit....my heart skipping in place

in this frozen moment of time..as you come near, closer to my side
now the space was yours and mine...just for a moment in time
all that i could hear, was the echoes of the fire, and the fast beat
of my heart thats jumped with a start, as the 2 sounds seemed to just coincide
each phase of the burning fire, filled me with so much desire
turned the heat up within me
from the top of my head to the tip of my feet
hotter then the fire...ablaze..was my desire dancing in the flames
caught the out; ike, contour, and shadows of your georgeous face

embers that flew, around unto the ground
all around in the air..as the wind slightly blew
as it surrounded us 2
whispers of my love, lust, as the embers have all now turned to dust
as now would ever compare, not the fire, nor it blaze
but as you stood there
bit by bit......in the smoldering glaze..of the fire pit
as it n i caught the handsome shadows that played across your gorgeous face.........................

Rain,rain

Why am I here if youre there
So far away its not fair
To be without you like this
I miss you more than you know
The nights are long
The days slow
Without the warmth of your kiss
Wish you were back here with me
Cause out my window
All is see is
Rain , rain in the sky
Everywhere I look my eyes see
Rain , rain fallin down
Crying as it hits the ground
Rain , rain in my heart
Every day that were apart
Rain , rain
Falling rain , rain
Rain , rain
Only rain , rain
The sun is strong when youre near
But when youre gone it disappears
Behind an ocean of blue
The telephones not good enough
It cant reach out it cant touch
Me like the way you do
Wish you would knock at my door
Cause only you can stop the pouring
Rain , rain in the sky
Everywhere I look my eyes see
Rain , rain fallin down
Crying as it hits the ground
Rain , rain in my heart
Every day that were apart
Rain , rain
Falling rain , rain
Rain , rain
Only rain , rain
Maybe ill go outside
And walk beneath the clouds
Pretend its you thats watching over me
This isnt the only thing that comes
Between us now
Baby soon well be together
Oooo
( everywhere I look I see rain )
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Rain
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Everywhere I look I see rain
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Rain
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Rain
( rain , rain in the sky )
( everywhere I look my eyes see rain )
Rain
( rain falling down )
Down
( crying as it hits the ground )
Dont , dont let it hit the ground
( rain , rain in my heart everyday that were apart )
( rain , rain )
Rain
( falling rain, rain )
Rain
( rain, rain )
Everywhere I look I see rain
Everywhere I look I see rain
But I dont see you
Youre not near me
I need you ooo
Rain
Itll never be the same
If you dont stop the rain

Of Course Im Lying

Her name was julie
When she took me on a ride in her old chevrolet
Straight into a dusty sundown
I knew she was gonna make up one of her stories
And then she couldnt believe that I told her
How much I love her lies and how much I love her games
Riding on the highway
Youre going much too far
Youre lying so much better
When you drive a car
Youre lying til the sundown
So look into my face
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying
I love your games
I love your lies
I love your games
Look in my eyes
Dont believe Im worried
When youre playing all these games
I love your lies just hold me tight
I got no one to blame
Youre lying, Im buying
Im buying every word
I love your lies
I love your games
Take me to the ballroom
Were dancing through the night
Im in your arms, I love your lies
They make me feel so light
Youre lying to your shadow
So look into my face
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying (I love it)
Youre lying
Julie stopped her car
The sun had gone and left one of these dark red skies
She looked in my eyes and with a smile in her face she said
Of course Im lying.
But I think I love you.
Take me on the highway

Rain and Me

Blessed from Heaven
Started fast and fell smooth
Scattered even and soaked well
Cleaned leaves and abandoned dry.

When my nights were long
And sleep completely gone
My mind devil born
In those nights, Rain killed my pain.

When I felt more shy
To wipeout my tears and cry
Searched for some hands to try
In those situations, Rain wiped my tears.

When my happy days bloomed
And asked more that was dreamed
Felt my happiness cake was not yet creamed
In those moments, Rain creamed my dream.

When my expectations were big
And failed a little and got dig
My mouth and face reacted only sick
In those times, Rain busted my strain.

So come
Taste rain
Burst strain
Kill pain.

Feel light and stay quite
So Rain could share with you.

The Day That She Left Tulsa

(mark d. sanders/steve diamond)
We were a half mile high on the ferris wheel
At our old county fair
I didnt even know we had trouble until
She told me way up there
Thats when my life started spinning round
My world came crashing to the ground
The day that she left tulsa
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
With the caution lights flashing in the passing lane
From a bridge I watched our dreams goin down the drain
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
No she wasnt showing yet but shed be by christmas time
Up there like a fool I took for granted it was mine.
She never came out and told me that I was wrong
But all of a sudden the light came on
The day that she left tulsa
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
With the caution lights flashing in the passing lane
From a bridge I watched our dreams goin down the drain
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
I guess she thought the truth would end up driving me away
Well she was wrong but I never had the chance to say
The day that she left tulsa
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
In a chevy in a hurry in the pouring down rain
With the caution lights flashing in the passing lane

Really Love The Rain

I really love the rain, I really love the rain,
cast your clouds, hide us from it all, wash away these stains
it's my gift, it's my present, I’d spend an hour walking in it's presence.
It's exactly how I feel man, it's exactly how I feel Ya...,
I really love the rain man…, I really love the rain ya....

I spent all day at work now I’ll spend all night in bed, so
I can get up and do it again cause, I really need that rent cause,
I really need that bread cause, I’m tired of going hungry. I’m
tired of needing help, I just want to live a moment for myself.
As selfish as that seems, I just really need that moment
so I can see my options clearly. So I hope the sky's not clearing,
cause I really love the rain man…

I really love the rain ya…, I really love the rain-
a little shower to calm my mind, a gentle mist and a slight
Breeze, bit of dew drips off the trees.
puddles form but not to your knees, no ones missing
no one bleeds. it's exactly how I feel man.., it's exactly how I feel
ya..., I really love the rain man…, I really love the rain ya...

For my anger there's a storm, let the lightning crash and burn.
There's my hatred, there's my rage, there's no way I could turn the page.
Stumbling in my clumsy ways, I’d probably set the book a blaze.
Let it rain oh, let it rain, show all my emotions, empty all my pain.

Man I really love the rain ya..., I really love the rain.
Its my drug it makes my day, like a pill I’d pop all day.
Run and jump and laugh and play, I’ll stay and dance don't go away.
Man I really love the rain ya..., I really love the rain.
Its my drug it makes my day, like a pill I’d pop all day.
I sit and cry and wonder why, who I am or why I’m here?
man this life just isn’t fair, but at least I have the rain.

it's exactly how I feel man..., it's exactly how I feel ya…,
I really love the rain man..., I really love the rain ya...,

Dark Fire

Fire, dark and burning bright
Bright as day, yet, gives no light
In the shadows of the night
Take away immortal sight
Blind soul eyes with black twilight
Banish day and burn the night
Remove sin from Heavens sight
Fire, twist and taint the once pure light
Heaven fought against your might
In the end, He lost the fight
Pure souls surrender to the evil light
As shadows move to reign the night
Angel's wings flutter in fearful flight
In the shadow of your light
Fire, sweet and sin filled bane
Make the devil go insane
As you burn his skin with acid rain
His screams are songs wrought in pain
His wake of Hell’s dark fire wanes
Death and pain are what he gains
Shadows of the devil’s bane
Wash away his sin with His holy name
Fire of the dragon’s heart
Don’t let us tear the world apart

Snap-Dragon

She bade me follow to her garden where
The mellow sunlight stood as in a cup
Between the old grey walls; I did not dare
To raise my face, I did not dare look up
Lest her bright eyes like sparrows should fly in
My windows of discovery and shrill 'Sin!'

So with a downcast mien and laughing voice
I followed, followed the swing of her white dress
That rocked in a lilt along: I watched the poise
Of her feet as they flew for a space, then paused to press
The grass deep down with the royal burden of her:
And gladly I'd offered my breast to the tread of her.

'I like to see,' she said, and she crouched her down,
She sunk into my sight like a settling bird;
And her bosom crouched in the confines of her gown
Like heavy birds at rest there, softly stirred
By her measured breaths: 'I like to see,' said she,
'The snap-dragon put out his tongue at me.'

She laughed, she reached her hand out to the flower
Closing its crimson throat: my own throat in her power
Strangled, my heart swelled up so full
As if it would burst its wineskin in my throat,
Choke me in my own crimson; I watched her pull
The gorge of the gaping flower, till the blood did float

Over my eyes and I was blind --
Her large brown hand stretched over
The windows of my mind,
And in the dark I did discover
Things I was out to find:

My grail, a brown bowl twined
With swollen veins that met in the wrist,
Under whose brown the amethyst
I longed to taste: and I longed to turn
My heart's red measure in her cup,
I longed to feel my hot blood burn
With the lambent amethyst in her cup.

Then suddenly she looked up
And I was blind in a tawny-gold day
Till she took her eyes away. So she came down from above
And emptied my heart of love . . .
So I helf my heart aloft
To the cuckoo that fluttered above,
And she settled soft.

It seemed that I and the morning world
Were pressed cup-shape to take this reiver
Bird who was weary to have furled
Her wings on us,
As we were weary to receive her:

This bird, this rich
Sumptuous central grain,
This mutable witch,
This one refrain,
This laugh in the fight,
This clot of light,
This core of night.

She spoke, and I closed my eyes
To shut hallucinations out.
I echoed with surprise
Hearing my mere lips shout
The answer they did devise.

Again, I saw a brown bird hover
Over the flowers at my feet;
I felt a brown bird hover
Over my heart, and sweet
Its shadow lay on my heart.
I thought I saw on the clover
A brown bee pulling apart
The closed flesh of the clover
And burrowing into its heart.

She moved her hand, and again
I felt the brown bird hover
Over my heart . . . and then
The bird came down on my heart,
As on a nest the rover
Cuckoo comes, and shoves over
The brim each careful part
Of love, takes possession and settles down,
With her wings and her feathers does drown
The nest in a heat of love.

She turned her flushed face to me for the glint
Of a moment. 'See,' she laughed, 'if you also
Can make them yawn.' I put my hand to the dint
In the flower's throat, and the flower gaped wide with woe.
She watched, she went of a sudden intensely still,
She watched my hand, and I let her watch her fill.

I pressed the wretched, throttled flower between
My fingers, till its head lay back, its fangs
Poised at her: like a weapon my hand stood white and keen,
And I held the choked flower-serpent in its pangs
Of mordant anguish till she ceased to laugh,
Until her pride's flag, smitten, cleaved down to the staff.

She hid her face, she murmured between her lips
The low word 'Don't!' I let the flower fall,
But held my hand afloat still towards the slips
Of blossom she fingered, and my crisp fingers all
Put forth to her: she did not move, nor I,
For my hand like a snake watched hers that could not fly.
Then I laughed in the dark of my heart, I did exult
Like a sudden chuckling of music: I bade her eyes
Meet mine, I opened her helpless eyes to consult
Their fear, their shame, their joy that underlies
Defeat in such a battle: in the dark of her eyes
My heart was fierce to make her laughter rise . . .
Till her dark deeps shook with convulsive thrills, and the dark
Of her spirit wavered like water thrilled with light,
And my heart leaped up in longing to plunge its stark
Fervour within the pool of her twilight:
Within her spacious gloom, in the mystery
Of her barbarous soul, to grope with ecstasy.

And I do not care though the large hands of revenge
Shall get my throat at last -- shall get it soon,
If the joy that they are lifted to avenge
Have risen red on my night as a harvest moon,
Which even Death can only put out for me,
And death I know is beter than not-to-be.

November Rain

November rain washed away my guilt
November rain washed away my pain
November rain - so tired I felt
November rain was not just any rain

Long I longed with deep torment
For so long my body waited
November rain, , , , Oh, sweet friend
November rain- slowly I faded.

November rain- I cried within
Steady and slowly, it kept on pouring
November rain, watered my skin
And deep inside, I heard my roaring.

November rain, it refused to quit
November rain kept on pouring
And alone outside, in the streets I wept-
dripping... dripping and falling.

Past Tense

long, long time ago
in the past tense of my life
there was once a rosey rose
with a beauty sharper than a knife
spoiled by every dropp of rain
on her petals so reddish as blood
playful in such childish vain
though never she had to leave her bud

day and night are leaving
but the rose didn't move
and here I'm sleeping
hoping by the morrow
I would get a move

the wisdom it says by virtue
this rose shall live and live along
as long the sun is singing golden
and the rain is playing its own song
but in case the light becomes so dim
and the weather helps not the eye
standing shall not be that rose's stem
and the whole thing shall be just a lie

day and night are leaving
but the rose didn't move
and here I'm sleeping
hoping by the morrow
I would get a move

but for some reason I cannot find
my eyes closed and once open again
to find myself moveless in bound
without a feeling of the world of insane
but thank to the Lord of heavens in up
my head is beside a rosey rose in here
even though my heart is going to stop
my rose with me got me out of fear

day and night are leaving
but the rose didn't move
and here I'm sleeping
hoping by the morrow
I would get a move

sleepless nights and days
how long did I spend in there
my tears are going down alone
but so the rose stayed to me so near
and yet when people go alone
and to me never get back again
my rose is there bending down
swore that she'll never leave me again

day and night are leaving
but the rose didn't move
and here I'm sleeping
hoping by the morrow
I would get a move

by the sounds of the angels
the petals dropped on my cheek
and when my soul is roaming
doesn't know what I have to seek
comes again my rose from heaven
and to me gives a shining salute
I'm never lonely as she was saying
and my to keep faith in her so absolute

day and night are leaving
but the rose didn't move
and here I'm sleeping
hoping by the morrow
I would get a move

Thus, goes my story
of that rose's glory
and from that sand
shall I not get stand
but to say goodbye
O ye passer by
once in past tense of my life
I had a rose that was living by

day and night are leaving
but the rose didn't move
and here I'm sleeping
hoping by the morrow
I would get a move...

Heavy Water

I walked out in the city night,
A burning in my eyes, like it was broad daylight.
And it was hot, down there in the crowd.
The stars went out behind a thunder cloud.
Chatter in the air, like a telegraph line.
Big drops hissing on the neon sign.
Thumping in my heart, and its hurting me to see.
Smokestack blowing, now theyre pouring
Heavy water on me.
She was a southern girl. we stared man to man.
I move like a stranger in this strange land.
She was a round hole, I was a square peg.
I watched the little black specks running down her leg.
Didnt seem to mind that dirty rain coming down ---
Shirt hanging open. she was wet and brown.
Thumping in my heart, and its hurting me to see.
Smokestack blowing, now theyre pouring
Heavy water on me.
What goes up has to fall back down.
Its no night to be out dancing in a party town
When it runs hot and it runs so wide ---
Running in the street like a thin black tide.
Chatter in the air, like a telegraph line.
Big drops hissing on the neon sign.
Thumping in my heart, and its hurting me to see.
Smokestack blowing, now theyre pouring
Heavy water on me.

Chains

An hour since the sundown
The ghosts are creepin in
Are gathering around me
Like starlings in the wind
Dark shapes gather round
Voices like my brother's
Are whispering to me
But I don't know these others
Who want to set me free
Come home you're out of time
But the life cannot let go
It's a chain cuts across my soul
Anchoring in this world
I put my hand into the flame
Burning but I feel no pain
Don't speak, don't speak my name
Hold on to this life of chains
The door is standing open
But I'm too tired to be afraid
My whole life's in this moment
I've been fighting all the way
Just need a little more time
Cuz the life just can't let go
It's a chain cuts across my soul
Anchoring in this world
I put my hand into the flame
Burning but I feel no pain
Don't speak, don't speak my name
Hold on to this life of chains
Nah nah nah nah nah x6
I put my hand into the flame
Burning but I feel no pain
Don't speak, don't speak my name
Hold on to this life of chains
Chains...chains...chains...
