Tennis ball and a catcher's mitt
I remember that boy throwing it
High up in the air then catching it
While the oak tree leaves cheered
Oh,look at me now All grown up looking back again
Sitting here wondering where the time all went
What do I know now that I didn't know then
Not much

Dream-catcher

Dream-catcher, dream-catcher catch me a dream,
Send it from the stars down on a moonbeam,
Weave it like gold gossamer.
Fill it with images, heavenly, bright,
To keep me contented all through the night,
Let it be a heart-warmer.

Let this world’s sorrows dissolve in a dream,
That no one should wake in cold sweat… and scream;
End terror and tyranny.
Let the world live in peace; no more blood shed,
Let starving millions be fully fed,
In freedom and harmony.

Dream-catcher, dream-catcher, where is my dream?
Is there some mercy in a "higher scheme",
A green meadow for a rest?
Or are we doomed in mayhem and bloodlust,
Where the wicked wins, no peace for the just…
Is this world merely a jest?

Dream Catcher

Hanging by the window,
the dream catcher waits,
to catch me a dream, that's hopefully great.

Quiet and still, it waits in the night,
to catch a dream, traveling in flight.

Its web is of leather, its feathers light,
the magic it works, carries great height.

Will it bring me a lover, a funny story or song?
or, will it bring nightmares
where everything goes wrong...

The time is now near, for me to lie down
and wait for a dream that's happy and sound.

caution you please,
my heart is now calm, my mind is at ease

Go in the night and find what you will,

that's meaningful and still.

Runnin' Scared

Leah, Leah.
Leah, Leah.
Here I go
From the hut to the boat to the sea
For Leah.
I've got to go diving in the bay.
Got to get a lot of oysters, find some pearls today.
To make a pretty necklace for Leah, Leah.
I've got to go deep and find the ones just right.
I'll bet my Leah will be surprised tonight.
I'll place the pearls around the only girl for me, Leah.
But something's wrong, I cannot move around.
My leg is caught, it's pulling me down.
But I'll keep my hands shut tight, for if they find me,
They'll find the pearl for Leah.
And now it's over. I'm awake at last.
All heartaches and memories from the past.
It was just another dream about my lost love, Leah.

The Rat-Catcher

I AM the bard known far and wide,
The travell'd rat-catcher beside;

I was in preschool and a girl actually kissed me on the cheek. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what it meant, so I instantly grabbed her face and kissed her on the lips. And, then I got suspended.
