I quietly walk immense, lonely streets
And think of a sullen girl
Whose eyes were always
Watery and sad,
Even in the absence of tears.
I recall once having held her hand
In the sunlight amid yellow flowers
And wanting to whisper something to her
That would make her smile
And forget her tragic soul
For a fleeting moment.
Some girls dress in black
And you can’t reach them with romance,
But you fall in love with them nonetheless;
The poetry of their melancholy eyes
Slips into your psyche
Like a recurring childhood dream.
She eventually gets lost somewhere
And drifts away, she finds it impossible to linger
With one man and be understood.
You think, perhaps this is best,
She’s not for you,
But your life becomes morose,
Her disconsolate mood has infected you
And you begin to view the world
Through the same saturnine eyes.
In your solitude, you question why
The two of you could not remain

The coziest place in the world
The coziest place in the world
Is between the legs of a girl
Exploring the peaks of her breast
While tracing the coriolis in her navel
The sweetest scent in this life

Feminine Mystery Of The Eternal Goddess
I’m writing the poetry of fragile souls
Sitting quietly in the broken sunlight
Of hopeful but fleeting romance.
I’m gazing into the nearly tearful eyes
Of beautiful women paralyzed

That somehow missed their lips.

Melancholy Child
A baby with a baby just barely seventeen
My mother mourned her innocence
While she bounced on her knee
A daddy on the road added to her tears and trials
Like silver rain they fell upon this melancholy child
The sounds of my childhood still linger in my song
My mother's lullaby that train that ran behind our home
A whippoorwill on a window sill - it should have made me smile
But everything sounds lonesome to a melancholy child
Now a restless blood runs in our family
I thought I could outrun the emptiness inside of me
So I went a little crazy, went a little wild
Trying to outdistance my own melancholy child
I met a kind and gentle man who thinks the world of me

I am walking the streets at night,
bathing myself in the moonlight,
watching others go about their business,
so many people living in the darkness,
but this is not a dark and colourless land,
for you must try and understand,
that here your thoughts are divine,
as every moment is frozen in time.
Close your eyes, forget your name,
for in darkness we’re all the same.

for you’re the same as anyone else.

for the future is the one and only task.
