Lavender Summer Dress

When I see you
In your lavender summer dress
Along a sun-brilliant and rainless avenue,
It's like a divine revelation
Of an exquisite design.

How many hours and artisanal techniques
Did it require of God to fashion
The loveliness of your eyes?

Can I enter the world
Of your luxurious perfume
And the rarified air of your breath
Or must I linger outside your gate?

This obsession with your essence
Has left me lonely in this city of broken dreams,
But I can no longer find any meaning
That is divorced from your existence.

Another Lonely Night In Ny

Baby , oh no , Ive been stuck here
Ive been searchin so long
Baby dont go , millions of people were wrong
In the dark of the cold light of day ,
I will still be here
If my heart and my soul had their way ,
You would still be here
Another lonely night in new york
The city of dreams just keeps on getting me down
cause my babys no longer around
And my feeling can never be found
Another lonely night in new york
And my sorry eyes are lookin out on the world
Baby , you said , a guy like me was way out of line
And knowing today , your leavin was a question of time
In the mist of a sweet summer rain ,you will find me here
Should the sparkle of stars lose their way ,
Ill be holdin near
Another lonely night in new york
The city of dreams just keeps on getting me down
cause my babys no longer around
And my feelings can never be found
Another lonely night in new york
And my sorry eyes are lookin out on the world
(break)
In the dark of the cold light of day ,
You will find me here
If my heart and my soul had their way ,
You would still be here
Another lonely night in new york
And Im just a soul in the heart of the city
Just another lonely night in new york
The city of dreams just keeps on getting me down
Just another lonely night in new york ( fade )

In Lavender And Green

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With bells about your feet,
And music in your step,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With sunshine in your eyes,
And springtime in your hair,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With softness in your words,
And healing in your touch,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With your name upon my lips,
And delight within your kiss,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green,
In dreams at midnight’s rest,
Or afternoon’s recline?
Come then to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green,
At the setting of the sun,
When my days are nearly run?
Still come to me in lavender and green?

Will you come to me in lavender and green,
If I wait at heaven’s door,
As I waited once before,
While you walked to organ’s tune,
On a summer’s afternoon.
Now dressed in springtime hues?
My love, companion, muse,
A vision still I see,
Dressed in lavender and green.

Time Runs Out Escaping into Eternity

After walking through this world alone,
I’ll write my poems sitting at a piano
With votive candles lit, remembering everything,
The summer dresses on an avenue of trees,
The rhythmic sway of your feet through autumn leaves,
The sadness in your brown eyes that brought you to me.

Romantic melancholy is the only melody of my soul,
Longing unfulfilled the only chords I know by heart,
No dramatic crescendo just a silent fade, whisper-like,
Into the midnight air of a lonely night.

Impossible love has left me mesmerized,
The perfume on a sweater you wore
Lingers in a dream that never ceases,
I can’t let go of my images of you,
They will one day justify my existence
In words that make old men and lovers cry.

I hope you can perceive the enchanted poetry
That I found in the movements of your hands,
In your softest breath against a wineglass,
I know, no man is worthy of a woman
Until he has loved her above all others.

The Essence Of The Waterfall

the essence of the waterfall
its beauty
the reason for its existence
is the falling

day and night it falls
and falls and falls
you cannot stop it

let it be let it be
like the way you are falling
from the skies of your dreams

it is your essence
it is the beauty of your existence
it is the meaning
of your being you

let it be let it be
find the bottom of it all

you shall find rest there.

Lavender Essence

Lavender essence-

Breathes the night air;

Enchanting velvet whispers-

O' moonlight...

Magical moments-

In true loves design;

Lavender essence-

Delicate and refined;

Spreads aromas-

'Cross the sods dales-

Purple coloured tint-

Satin-like veil;

Covers the sod-

With her springtime renewel;

The fragrance of flowers-

Gods most beloved crowned jewels...

Burgundy Dress and Glass of Wine

Have you ever driven
A woman to the airport
Searching all along the way
For the right words to express
The way you felt about her hair
And her eyes and her breath?

Life moves too fast
And opportunities escape,
Love finds a narrow way
Out of the city of your heart
And down a back road
Impossible to follow.

Too many seasons of rain
With no emotional comfort
Or the means to explain
Where your dreams disappeared
Into somebody else’s arms.

Her wrists were perfect
With silver bracelets
That sparkled in the sunlight,
My joy and my eyes
Settled in her half-moon earrings
Like I was a captivated child.

Close to four years
Have evaporated
Like the summer mist
Since I last knew the mystery
Of her voice and her kiss.

Everything about her
Even in this exile
Is beautiful to me.
Does she understand
How her thrilling essence
Continues to linger?
I’m happy to live with the memory
Of her burgundy dress and glass of wine.

Gate Keeper

each night the wonder of darkness comes
in a most revealing light of what is leaving in
the midst of light

that's the most wonderful moment to happen
every night, when closing the eyes, comes the
unsolicited phenomenon of living with other souls

in the state of life, i have seen nothing but a
pure white color of no colors, different than our
naked eyes have perceived, it’s an awesome and
beautiful as a sleep, where a moment is not
counted for a day

waking me up talking with St. Peter and listening
the past is remembering the, teaching of the church
the gate keeper of heaven

a pleasure and honor, which is done, where
breathing is passing the past of learning on how
to enter the gate of memories

the gate is beautiful made of blue pearl with a crystal
stone of granite enter locking with diamond tupaz
between each border of threaded coil of gold as the
design, galloping the entire post of two big pillars,
facing the rising ladder of infinity clouds of smoke

just a cold breezing like melted malt seducing my
skin to smell its fragrance passion of perfume in
my nostrils of incensed myrrh of immortal soul

the gate keeper dress with a simple style of
fashionable French red cloth and a slipper made
in the Marikina, standing with a poise asking
each one with a bed like soft voice, of my name

all comes likes a vision in darkness of the night
where no immortal soul have witness the gate
of the gate keeper enter the pedulum he stands,
just wait and you will see the gate keeper in
heaven......in your dream

Once I Saw My Nature!

Once I saw the light that glows
my existence.
I don't need these mortal eyes! Once I touched the deepest layer
of my existence,
I no more want even the
topmost heaven, even if it
exists! Once I breathed the airless
breath,
I no longer wish to breath this
polluted air! Once I smelt that fragrance of
odourless perfume of self, I no
longer like this nose.. Once I touched the heart of all
hearts,
I no longer wish to listen this
heart beat! Once I touch the toothless
wonder, I don't need these skin
and flesh! Once I heard That sboundless
music, I don't need this ears to
listen to any music! Once I found what is death, I
don't want live anymore Once I become one with truth I
don't need any words describing
it! Once I met with the beloved I
need no separation Oonce I felt that love I became
love and need it anymore.. Once I am one with my beloved I
am free of desires and aims Once I am bathed in by devine
nectar with grace,
I don't need live for anyone
except that divine.. I am here as guest and before I
close my drama here, wish to
thank all actors, who made my
drama super hit!

New-York-City Sad Song

I am in New York City, but New York City,
It does not belong to me. You understand?
I am in New York City, but New York City is not in me.
What do I mean? Listen, I am from Chicago, Illinois.
Been in New York City for thirty-five years.
I am a New Yorker! You must understand!

Nope, nope, I probably confuse you.

What happens here? I have some examples.
Take the Second Avenue Subway. It doesn't exist!
City continues the project as long as I remember.
Seventh Avenue, midtown calls it, Fashion Avenue;
Yet garment making and design,
Do they play any role in today's American trade?

And the neighborhoods, they all look the same.
Look down the blocks. What do you see?
Corporate interests and franchise,
Dunkin' Donuts and big-time banks,
And, on almost every other corner,
Drug-store chains hawking their wares,
That's the story, the moms-and-pops, those stores,
Those stores are gone.

I notice more begging,
People seeking handouts more today than I ever recall.
The murder rate spikes. The poor kill the poor;
Children shoot other children.

And the City's once renowned middle class forced to flee,
I see a Great Migration,
A town left to ladies with big, diamond engagement rings,
And babies pushed in fancy perambulators.

By the way New York City's mayor,
He is the richest man in the state.

And you, yes, you, too,
You are not around much anymore.
How seldom I see you during the course of a year!
I am lonely without you.
I miss your not being home with me.
Nowadays, you go abroad
And, when you return, we go for dinner.
I only see you once in a while and then for a short time.

Ever notice all the lottery tickets which losers leave
On counter tops, and discard to the floor?
Seems many people hope to change their luck.

You follow? You understand what I mean?

I am in New York City, but New York City is not in me.

Kody

Kody sat down on the avenue
He tapped his feet to the humming of the highway
He watched the light shine down on the broken glass, and thought
I dont got no reasons, yet
There it is and there it was
It was clear to all of us
We kept this hat of broken dreams
And we pulled them out, when we needed them around
(chorus)
So please hand me a bottle, I think Im lonely now
And please give me direction, I think the hurt set in
And I dont feel nothing, yet
Theres a squeak hinge down on the back gate
It lets us know if he comes around
But I dont sleep that good anyway
And if youve never heard that silence, its a God awful sound
I dont feel nothing, no I dont feel nothing
Theres nothing to feel good about here
Dont much get down to the avenue
I could drive
But it takes so much to get there
Dont get off on all the broken glass, the cadillac scene,
Well
Ive seen a lot of good things die and im
In an overemotional way
(chorus)

Nothing In Particular

i walk inside the mall
with nothing in mind in particular
i am just walking
that is the essence of my being here
i am this vagabond in the city
where noise is loud and so many
where people are always leaving taking rides here and there
where darkness cannot overcome the lights
of the city streets
i have nothing in my mind
nothing in particular
whatever is it
as the night deepens like a flood
of water where the dam keeps its hold
nothing overflowing
nothing in particular and you keep on following me perhaps
trying to figure out if there is wisdom in this
ah, still there is nothing in particular
just like our existence now
nothing in particular
that is the essence of all this
we keep on moving
with nothing in mind in particular
until we arrive at
nothing in particular
that is the meaning of this
nothing in particular nothing poetic
nothing.

The Seed Market

Can you find another market like this?
Where,
with your one rose
you can buy hundreds of rose gardens?
Where,
for one seed
get a whole wilderness?
For one weak breath,
a divine wind?
You've been fearful
of being absorbed in the ground,
or drawn up by the air.
Now, your waterbead lets go
and drops into the ocean,
where it came from.
It no longer has the form it had,
but it's still water
The essence is the same.
This giving up is not a repenting.
It's a deep honoring of yourself.
When the ocean comes to you as a lover,
marry at once, quickly,
for God's sake!
Don't postpone it!
Existence has no better gift.
No amount of searching
will find this.
A perfect falcon, for no reason
has landed on your shoulder,
and become yours.

Lavender Lace

Lavender lace, tears on my face
Our love ? ? ? to celebrate our first date
But Im alone in lavender lace
Lavender lace, theres not a trace
Of that guy that I love so well
Now he wont see me in lavender lace
Why oh why didnt my baby show?
Why oh why, didnt he love me, no
I dont know if Ive ever been so lonely
Lonely in lavender lace
Oh, lavender lace seems out of place
Its 2am, well whats with him, making me cry?
Giving me blues in lavender lace

The Cupboard Of Loveliness

The fragrances of yesteryear
So fascinated me
That everything was crystal clear,
As if my destiny!
Collecting perfumes one-by-one,
Became my great desire,
My joie de vivre, my scents of fun,
As seller and as buyer...

Exquisite and ecstatic friends,
As if my second skins.
Companionship that never ends -
They cause my constant grins...
They magnify, they edify,
They sanctify my soul,
They rectify, electrify,
They somehow make me whole...

No wonder, then, I must enthuse,
Promoting such perfumes,
Such that I help my friends to choose
The blessed and best of blooms.
Designer perfumes blow my mind!
Pure bliss and happiness!
They're Heaven-scent and so refined,
God-given loveliness!

Denis Martindale, copyright February 2011.

Peter Sherlock, UK Shopping tv pre-scent-er

Dedicated to Peter Sherlock's ever-so-famous
'The Cupboard of Loveliness' which could just as
easily be called 'The Cupboard of Love Finesse'.

Fragrances stimulate, envigorate and celebrate
all that we sense as being beautiful and sensual.

Our transformation can be such a revelation that
others will want to share. Maybe there should be
a perfume called, ' What's That? ' because that's
what people ask us when they want what we've got!

How many buyers say they're buying perfume for
somebody else, only to sample the perfume and must
keep it all to themselves? Millions, that's how many!

If Summer Should Fall Short

Here is my number to call,
If Summer should fall short
Of your dreams.
Or has lost its meaning.

You have my name.
And my address remains the same,
As before.
Remember when we met.
Under skies that left us wet...
When rain came pouring down.

Remember it was then,
We said we'd meet again.
And the holidays came to go.
Although the snow has gone...
All Spring you have been on my mind!

Here is my number to call,
If Summer should fall short
Of your dreams.
Or has lost its meaning.

There is a reason why...
We met with eyes that say,
Let's try this again!

This Summer we have found ourselves,
With feelings to reveal.
We met with eyes that say,
Just how we feel.

Through orchards and vineyards grown
Revitalizing my inner essence
Blessing the Lavender-Blue sown;
In my minds eyes i oft' meditate-
'Tis Lavender Fields now or never...
Transporting me into Vales O' Bliss
Leading me into my Lavender Forever;

Strengthen me with your sweet power--

The World Of Broken Hearts

Every night youll find me in the only world I own.
Its a crowded place thats filled with people all alone.
Its a place that I could write a book about.
When they let you in, youll find theres no way out.
There you dont get in, cause theres no way out
Theres just no way out.
No way out when your in a world of broken hearts,
In a world of broken hearts,
Of broken hearts,
Of broken hearts.
Those who enter here are told to leave their dreams behind.
You may never get to sleep again, but you dont mind.
Its a place that I could write a book about.
When they let you in, youll find theres no way out.
There you dont get in, cause theres no way out
Theres just no way out.
No way out when your in a world of broken hearts,
In a world of broken hearts,
Of broken hearts,
Of broken hearts.
In a world of broken hearts,

All's Well

The red dress hung from a hanger on the door.
A garment that she had never worn before.
Its vibrant rich colour called to her to buy,
But why?

The red dress made her feel very feminine.
Clad in silkiness she’d felt sylph-like and thin.
Would he really like it, would he like her too,
No clue!

The red dress fitted, so clever the design.
No doubt he would think this lady so divine.
So out on her date she went, one heart beating,
First meeting!

The red dress had made all her dreams come true.
Her beau was so charming the whole evening through.
Love was in the air, the dress had worked its spell,
All’s well!
