B Yourself
Tides at rise, by high i am the stranded - To become unravelled, lost to the forest, voiced to be undone - Around the turn, flames bridge the fire, i will burn - No way back, the door no more, the gate holds the key in me - By day, i have the less to say - By night, fear is my cure, i still have to fight - Eight, i ate not by my fate - I slumber inside the sweet of dreams - Greener grass you can never find, by the fence, or the other side - Still you seek, rather be yourself -

Green
Sometime ago we broke up for no reason I know
Why do I have this feeling youre still in control
Im confused like Im used to whenever Im in trouble again
But this time I have to grow up and learn to decide
The grass is greener on your side
It was always greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side
Im way too nervous to be patient right now
Why do I have this feeling Im not in control
The price that I pay for in my almost obsessive devotion you see
Is much higher than I would ever expect it to be
The grass is greener on your side
It was always greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side x5
The grass is greener on your side
It was always greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side

Fire Burns! Fire Burns!
If you like you can enquire
There are rings of fire
There are hearts on fire
There are desert, grass and bush fires
Burning with a red hot rage on a different stage
They burn and mature that one can only admire
O! Fire O! Fire
My heart is on fire
Inside my soul a little flame has transpired
Have my words mis-fired while I speak of fire?
Fire burns like a scorching red-hot sun
And when fire burns its impact is sometimes no fun
Fire burns! Fire burns!
People die, people cry, people sigh
Fire run, run and run
Let's take turns to run before we turn into a bun
When you play with fire your hands will burn
When you lay with fire, heads will surely turn
Fire burns! Fire burns!
A hand pulls a gun and fires
A man goes to work and gets fired
And while I tire, I ask myself am I a liar?
For I speak of the uncontrollable forest fires
That cannot be announced by any town crier
A little spark
A brittle panic attack
A burning flame
A red-hot blaze
In seconds fire can take out an entire space
Fire burns! Fire burns!
And while the fire transpires
I can see the fire in your eyes
A hot passionate desire that flies and flies
And the fire burns and burns
Run, run and run for heads will turn
And the heat will rise like the scorching sun
Fire burns! Fire burns!
I ask silently for a ceasefire
For fire only ignites to inspire more misery
And out of that misery are born some high fliers
Run, run and run for heads will turn
And whatever burns can never be undone

On The Edge Of Honour
Led by temptation into the underworld
to absence of season and time
Soldiers of Fortune, Soldiers of the Night
back to back, ready to fight
Enchanted gardens, where Evil slipped away
through darkness, fire and rage
Uncanny demons will dance upon your grave
as soon as you become their slave
Surrender or fight, theres nowhere to turn
The Bringer of Light, where are you now
Forever our hearts will burn
Immortal Riders, Protectors of the Earth
lost in the abode of the dead
Misled through darkness and mislead by desire
inside the midst of the fire
Surrender or fight, theres nowhere to turn
The Bringer of Light, where are you now
Forever our hearts will burn
Fallen Angels, arise from your graves
Free your spirits and unite
before the blood of the Unicorn colors the night
From the ruins of hell we shall rise
On The Edge Of Honour we see the light
of the Unicorn soaring the night
Lead: both
Born to conquer the fight,
here we stand with the Future in our hands
Through fire well rise to touch the sky

Fire On the Ridge
In the west there is fearsome fire in the hills.
Full of dread, the people watch as flames burn upon the ridge.
Fierce winds fan the fury where the fires singe.
Meanwhile there’s hot air blasting forth from high upon the hill,
Pointless wind aimed at stirring some futile acts of men.
Strong winds fan the flames.
Embers ignite the blaze again.
While homes are lost across the land,
A burning night gives way to the dawn of restless men.
Rhetoric fails to charm while flames move across the land.
Fires burn readily across dry mountaintops.
Drought’s danger seeps down the slopes.
Now the valley too is brown and the pastures parched.
Wherever stray embers fall, fires will catch and burn
Until nowhere can they be stopped.
Will anything escape the flames fanned by these raging relentless winds?
The firemen grow weary,
They know neither sleep nor rest.
All their wisdom and efforts fail to meet the fires growing test.
They seek the help of younger men to aid them in the night,
But none can hear or heed the call; they are ensnared in some other fight.
The chief in command stands out of touch safe on the distant hill.
Insulated from the desperate fight, no fires will he end.
People in the valley see him perched emotionless and still.
If he even has a plan from this distance they can’t tell.
They fear for the safety of those who fight and for their own as well.
They fear the loss of all they love and treasure beyond price.
The fields once waved golden and valleys were lush with finest fruits.
The harvest, which they toiled toward, is in peril of being lost.
Will fires claim the victory and devour all they cherish?
Or will they rise against the blaze, fighting fire with fire, before they perish?
Through night a western ridge stays lit, while across this land no one dare now rest.

The Other Greener Pasture
that is the usual case
when you look over the fence that you just built
your eyes gaze to the other side
greener than yours
i mean, the grass, not the greenness of your iris
if you could have built a higher fence
so that you can narrow your gaze
within the four corners of your walls
and live this life that is all yours to own
you could have been happier here
but life is not meant to be
just that
four walls, a higher fence, taking all that come
sitting down
and breathing the air inside
the lungs
which until now have not seen the
rays of the sun
play the game
climb a tree
try jumping over your fences
it is only then when
you realize
that after all
your grass has always been
greener
your air more fresh
your fence most stable.
after all you got a poodle
a rose, a butterfly, a bird,
and this PC
that knows how to write poetry.

Burn That Bridge
Burn that bridge
By: jimmy buffett, michael utley, will jennings
1984
Im not sayin Im scareda you
But your kinda love is somethin new
When I hold you were swayin in the wind
Of all the bridges Ive ever crossed
High and lonesome and wild and lost
I feel this time Ill take it to the end
We dont care what the people may say
If theres a price its the price well pay
Chorus:
And well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
We both done our share of runnin around
So we know enough to know the kind of love weve found
Its the real thing and weve got to see it through
Im a singer and a sailor on a midnight sea
(oh captain come and take me on your fantasy)
If were crazy that aint nothin new
cause we dont care what the people may say
If theres a price its the price well pay
Chorus:
And well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
Who knows how it started
Who knows it end
The point of no return is waiting
Just around the bend
Chorus:
And well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
Chorus:
Yes well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down

The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

Between Two Fires
Wisdom reveals the reason why
This life brings so much pain
Yet in the rainbows in the sky
The answers all too plain
When God made man He gave him laws
As all the world now knows
But disobedience opened doors
No sinful man can close
Some fear no God nor judgement day
Some seek the truth on high
But fire to both will come one day
For all are bound to die
Fire will totally burn the earth
This world will cease to be
Yet Fire will lead to second birth
Who soon God’s face will see
Fire will seek each soul in turn
Regardless of their views
But which our flesh one day will burn
Is left for us to choose
From all the earth there’s no one free
However much we doubt
The fire will come for all to see
From which there’s no way out
No force can make God’s Fire retreat
No flesh can dowse the flame
But fire for those at Jesus’ feet
Will only burn their shame
The rest who die still with their crime
Will meet an awesome fate
Then like the flood in Noah’s time
The cry will be “Too late”

Stranded
Dog night Im so alone
A million miles out on my own
No one to talk no one to care
Searching for someone they could be anywhere
Magic and madness its so very strange
Soemtimes I think its all pre-arranged
That same old feeling hits me again
Just the beginning but its feels like the end
Oh feel like Im stranded out here
Oh I think I might disappear
No dont leave me stranded out here
Oh its just the loneliness I fear
Lonely window fading star
You never felt so near yet so far
Tried to forget you the best that I could
Dont try to find me it wont do any good
Im caught in a dream so hard to locate
Im just a captive of my own fate
No turning back no not tonight
Youre moving on way out of sight
Oh feel like Im stranded out here
Oh I think I might disappear
No dont leave me stranded out here
Oh its just the loneliness I fear
Stranded (8 times)
Oh I feel like Im stranded out here
Same as before
Stranded (8 times)

Squalor Asylum
The abiding moon collected
my knowing surrenders
basking in the squalidness
of my black heart
and asked in a tone
as mellifluous as the angry tides:
Where does a crow fly?
The nights of scarlet
where the saturnalia
collapsed in a dark secret
and the butterflies perched
over a buried amber
was devoured in famish
as carnage spattered
with burnt colors
and moaning plumage
Watching the astray musings
on a riving remedy
into the pipe and in the fathoms
of the interiorized vault -
the stupor of dancing suns
circling the inverted dome
somersaulting behind the blear
and your reflection in the smoke
These debaucheries never called
for their own hiatus
as the forest met a fire
and breaks upon another
then decadently fold
in a banal slumber
When the grotesque show ended
everyone is alone
lured by the licorice sweating upon
the heat on their palms
and lost inside the mirrors
in the genocide inside
their roofless chasms
The crow perched
in the undulating braches
Chagrined, I stood in the bridge
juxtaposing squalor and morose
and in the verisimilitude
of security and delight
we sunder the propinquity
and burn our bridges
Whilst amidst this flames
I spun to the bottom
of a bottomless pit
looking back
in backwards slits

On This Night
White sheets fall around the car
For it is not too far
The roads are white, and un-changing sheets of ice surround it
The roads are lightly lit
It is not far now something will happen, something will move
You always knew the car would loose
This battle of the night
You start to loose your sight
The roads are hidden from your gaze
The windows in a soft haze
The wheel moves, you turn trying to stop before the gate
It is too late
The brakes won’t save you know, the car skids to the side
This will be your last ride.
The impact sends you towards the windshield you cover your eyes and head
This is the end you know inside
You’ll never see your children’s smiling faces
Your mind is in a maze
You do not know what is happening you do not remember
All you know is it is December
The month of giving, you shall not give you shall not receive but death shall find were you stand
The car comes to a stop wheels spinning above you, the blood on your hands
The light fades all around you flames dance
The light is now no more, you lay still flames around you in the night, the snow falls on
It does not notice, but fills on your sweet face; you hear the voices above roll on
It is too late
For this night holds your fate
For on this night you shall loose your site

jumping to the other side of the fence
i always love the thought of jumping
to the other side of the fence
where the grass is greener
and the air is fresher
my heart beats for all the excitement
when i will be there
on the other side with you
i ask if you will walk beside me
when i am there finally
but you did not say a word
i know i am not welcome
but i still dream of going there
for other possibilities of loving
and be loved without any condition
at all, not necessarily you,
i am a fast learner, you know.

Girl On Fire
(the margarita horns: bill runge (baritone sax), paul baron & derry byrne (trumpets),
Tom keenlyside (tenor sax & arranger))
I just landed
Girl on fire
I felt the heat
From sydney to london
Well she shut my mouth
With her repartee
I opened hers
With the rest of me
Girl on fire
Baby burn burn burn
Girl on fire
Baby burn burn burn
Outta the shadows
Comes a dirty song
The same old faces
Try to keep you in line
I saw you laughing
At the very first show
You lit up the city
From the twenty-sixth floor
Girl on fire
Baby burn burn burn
Girl on fire
Whats saving her
Baby burn burn burn
Baby burn burn burn
Baby burn burn burn
I just landed
Girl on fire
I felt the heat
From new york to london
Well she shut my mouth
With a repartee
I opened hers
With the things that I say
Girl on fire
Thats the heat that burns
Girl on fire
How the flames make you learn
Girl on fire
Baby burn burn burn
Girl on fire
How the flames make me yearn
Girl on fire
Girl on fire
Girl on fire
Girl on girl on

I Sowed, I Sowed
At the heart of things, I sowed, I sowed
And waited for my gifts to grow
But tender roots could not take hold
In a hardened soul…so dark and cold
Yet inside of me, it thrived, it bloomed
It burned away all doubt and gloom
Now every breath that swells in me
It steady grows, just like a tree…
But inside of you, it could not grow
Was stifled by the falling snow
Unable to embrace the flames
Was satisfied, with fun and games
I gave my heart to make it real
And spread the passion that I feel
But songs of hope, were not enough
To rise above the fangs of lust
There's nothing I can do…or say
Time won't sweep the fire away
You'll yearn for me, as I will you
You can't deny, the fire is true
We'll hold our breath in deep of night
Pretending to be joined in flight
We'll ride the waves in our ascent
Come crashing down, trembling…spent
Echoes scream through my mind
Again, again the scenes rewind
Dreams hold fast the secret fire
Fueled by flames of deep desire
Your loins relive the raging burn
But from the night, you cannot turn
While fighting ghosts on tangled sheets
The fire will rob you of your sleep
Forever connected, our fire entwined
Yet separated by boundary lines
Never will, two wrongs be right
Never will, we share the night
Just two lost souls adrift at sea
To never touch…to never be
At the heart of things, I sowed, I sowed
In a place where love could never grow

She Comes
Common sense
Goes out the window like a cigarette
I take a hit again
When all her friends
They talk about me in a past tense
I take the hit again
[BRIDGE:]
She walks in in the middle of the night
Like we're good to go
All screwed up but it just feels right
And I don't wanna know where you go
Or how we went wrong
And when I think I can't go on
[CHORUS:]
She comes
And she comes
But when she goes she always takes away the best of me
She comes
And she comes
And when she's done I'm left with nothin' but the rest of me
Ignorance
My only explanation for this mess
I think about it when
We're on the fence
Between what is and what it should've been
I take the hit again
[BRIDGE]
[CHORUS]
Whatever she does
I always come undone
[guitar solo]
[CHORUS]
Whatever she does
I always come undone
I always come undone

Fate's Irony
I’m deep in love, with the girl of my dreams
Who’s deep in love with the guy of her dreams
As fate would have its’ sense of irony, it seems that guy is not me
Fate it seems loves to play tricks
Fate it seems has its’ own little hits
Irony is around us all around
Like the love of the one who is in love with another
Or the love of money when money is outmoted
But love will never be outmoted, just forgotten
Just Forsaken
Forsaken Irony, Forgotten Helms
Love is lost and new love found
Or for some of those unwilling to let go
Love is lost and the soul grows cold
Forsaking love and comfort
Caring or passion
It is darkened by the past, the ironic twist of fate
This once gentle soul now is black a night
This once soul of love is full of fright
But Not all is lost, for there is a remedy,
A cure to the pain, a cure for the forsaken
What that cure is I still do not know
I just hope I find it, so maybe I can grow old..

Fire Alarms
The breath of sleep is heard
every room is quietly in
slumber world
on university Campus.
Fear no fire alarm –
6.50 fire alarm sirens echoes
all around
with the piercing noise
like a dog in pain.
Inside a room, the breath of sleep
is no longer heard
but the scrambles and
the bitter words of a start
to a morning, where
sleep was half undone.
No amusement is etched on
faces, grumpy, sleepy faces,
one by one appear
outside the door.
Sleepiness carved like wood
on faces:
as the fire alarm
continues to blare out its message.
Oh fire alarm, you wicked fire alarm;
always blare like a dog in pain
at the wrong time.
Slumber world has gone
on university
and my sleep was half undone
yet again.
(another day on campus in bed, when the fire alarm goes off, and we all have to go out in our pjamas at 6.50 in the morning. No amusement there. I dislike fire alarms nowadays with contempt.)

We Fit Together
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na ohhhhh
Ive been waiting for the stars to come out,
Dinner, it was fine
But I cant lie
Cuz Ive been waiting for you to come back to mine
Ive been thinking of you 24/7
Every sixty five
But the girl for me,
I need her
Shes here right by my side
Bridge
I got you now and I just want to show you how to play
Gooses bumps on your body
Guide the way
Chorus
I wanna go all night
Aint no stopping til the breaking of the dawn
I wanna go inside every corner
Girl you really turn me on
I wanna go
Knock knock
Our bodies to the beat
And when the morning comes
Were letting the sun shine
Stay in bed
It cant seperate us
We fit together
I can feel you coming closer
Dancing in the dark
I touch your lips and kiss you shoulders
Send a letter to your heart
I cant explain to which extreme Im feeling you
How many triple x dreams thats been staring you
Bridge
Chorus
I dont get up and down
Of what I aught to do
It doesnt really matter to me
I-e-i-e-i am here with you
I cant explain to what degree Im feeling you
How many triple x dreams Ive had staring you
Bridge
Chorus x2
(all night) I wanna go
(all night) can I go
(inside) how about
(inside) I wanna go
(all night) can I go
(all night) what about
(inside) can I go
(inside) I wanna go

Fate vs Destiny
To find your true happiness tempt fate to discover your destiny.
You must hearken back to when real happiness was known
Remember its impact on your life
Opportunity knocks, open the door, you will see it coming.
You may be surprised to discover fate can mask your destiny.
Your fate and your destiny are not one in the same.
Your fate is what you settle for in life.
What you take as your life marches on day by day, an obligation to life.
Destiny is the gate you find at the end of the path you blaze
As you strive to attain life’s goal open the gate and find love,
Happiness and contentment; true peace of heart and mind.
Fate may leave you at destiny’s gate at the end of life.
Knowing only the travails of your battles to achieve life’s goal
Knowing not the sweetness of your victories.
The gate may not be open, leaving you empty
At the end of life's journey.
The path to your destiny is yours and yours alone
Ask yourself whether you wish to settle for your fate or…
Tempt your fate and discover the path.
The dark side of life; fear and self doubt can blur and cover the path.
Not always seen in the clear; hidden in your memory
Or on the full plate before you the path is always there.
Those who have known the depth of their love, the strength of their spirit,
Will find a guiding light illuminates their path.
In these qualities of character you will discover your true self
And the key to unlock the gate.
You will recognize the guide of your light.
The choice is yours, settle for fate or follow the light,
Find the key, unlock the gate … discover your destiny.
